Little Malabar is a boy with blond hair who travels in space jumping on planets. He wears a white t-shirt and blue shorts.

Little Malabar sings, TO THE MOON AND BACK.

Little Malabar giggles.

He says, HA-HA!

Little Malabar jumps from a planet to an asteroid.

He sings, I JUMP ON EVERY PLANET
AND EVERY STAR
C'MON, LET'S GO FAR.
EXPLORE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE,
LITTLE MALABAR.

A narrator says, THE SEASHELL ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Little Malabar pats a shovel on the top of a sandcastle he kneels beside on a beach.

He says, HUH?

Little Malabar stands as sand begins to rise beneath him. He tumbles off the growing tower of sand.

He says, WHOA!

A mole pops out of the tower of sand and squeaks.

Little Malabar says, HEY LITTLE MOLE,
ARE YOU BUILDING A SAND
CASTLE TOO?
CHECK OUT MINE.

Little Malabar gestures to his sandcastle. Little Mole ducks down into the sand.

Little Malabar says, HUH? WHERE'D YOU GO?

Little Mole creates a tower in Little Malabar’s sandcastle and pops out the top. Little Mole squeaks. Little Malabar giggles.

He says, YOU MADE A TOWER IN THE MIDDLE?
GREAT JOB, LITTLE MOLE.
LET'S GO FIND SOME
PRETTY SHELLS TO DECORATE IT!

Malabar picks up part of a shell from the beach.

He says, MM, KIND OF BROKEN,
AND TOO SMALL.

Little Malabar grabs another shell.

He says, THIS LITTLE SHELL IS TOO POINTY.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? MOLE?

Little Malabar looks around him.

He says, HEY, WHERE DID YOU GO THIS TIME?

(Squeaking)

Mole is atop a mountain.

Little Malabar says, AH, THERE YOU ARE!
BUT, MOLE, DON'T YOU KNOW
WE FIND SEASHELLS ON THE BEACH,
AND NOT UP TOP OF A MOUNTAIN?

Mole squeaks and tunnels into the mountain.

Little Malabar says, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

He hops onto a smaller mountain beside Mole.

Little Malabar says, HMM?

Mole pushes a seashell-like rock out of the hole in the mountain.

Little Malabar says, WHAT?
WOW, A SHELL THAT BECAME A ROCK?
IT'S VERY PRETTY, BUT HOW DID
A SEASHELL GET ALL THE WAY UP
HERE ON TOP OF THIS MOUNTAIN?

Sun says, YOU KNOW WHAT,
LITTLE MALABAR?
THAT SHELL IS CALLED A FOSSIL.
YOU SHOULD ASK EARTH
TO TELL YOU ABOUT HER PAST.

Little Malabar says, GREAT IDEA, SUN.
OKAY, LET'S GO, LITTLE MOLE!

Little Malabar and Mole leap off the mountains of Earth.

Little Malabar cheers, WOO! WOO-HOO!

He and Mole land on the moon.

Little Malabar says, HELLO THERE, EARTH.
DO YOU KNOW THE STORY ABOUT
A SHELL THAT BECAME A ROCK?

Earth says, OH YES, OF COURSE,
LITTLE MALABAR.
IT ALL BEGAN A LONG TIME AGO.

Earth spins, changing the positions of its islands and oceans.

Earth says, WAY BACK,
THIS IS WHAT I LOOKED LIKE.

The islands shift.

Earth says, WITH OTHER OCEANS.

Earth grunts and the islands shift again.

Earth says, AND OTHER ISLANDS.

Little Malabar says, OH, AND THE ISLANDS
ARE MOVING!

One of the islands giggles.

The island says, YES!
IT IS EARTH THAT IS
MAKING US MOVE.

Earth says, IT'S BECAUSE OF THE ENERGY
I HAVE INSIDE ME.

Earth grunts and islands move.

Earth says, AND SO I HEAT UP,
AND I PUSH,
AND THAT MAKES MY ISLANDS MOVE.

(Squeaking)

Mole rests atop Little Malabar’s head.

Little Malabar says, YOU'RE RIGHT, LITTLE MOLE.
BUT WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO
WITH OUR SEASHELL?

Sun says, WAY BACK THEN,
YOUR SEA SHELL…

Earth grunts.

Earth says, …WAS AT
THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN.

Earth grunts and islands move.

Earth says, YOU SHOULD GO SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Little Malabar pulls on a pair of goggles.

He says, OKAY, COME ON MOLE,
LET'S GO TAKE A LOOK.

Mole also wears goggles.

Little Malabar says, SUPER SEA DIVE!

He leaps off the moon and splashes into an ocean on Earth. Underwater, creatures with shells that look like Mole’s fossil swim by as Little Malabar explores.

Little Malabar says, WOW!
I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN ANIMAL
LIKE THAT ONE!

(Squeaking)

Little Malabar says, LOOK, I FOUND OUR SEASHELL.
AND THERE ARE LOTS OTHERS HERE.

On the bottom of the ocean are multiple small seashells.

Little Malabar says, THEY ARE THE SHELLS
OF THOSE FUNNY SNAILS.

Earth grunts as the islands move again. A piece of a larger island breaks off into its own island.

The new island cheers, YIPPEE, WE'RE GOING FAST!

The island moves toward another island.

The other island says, HEY, STOP.

The island groans as the smaller island bumps into it. Underwater, the ocean floor shakes.

Little Malabar says, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!

The ocean floor rises. Little Malabar swims up above water and giggles.

He asks, WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?

Earth grunts as the ocean floor rises above water level.

Earth says, AFTER I PUSHED,
THE TWO ISLANDS BUMPED
INTO EACH OTHER.

Little Malabar cheers, WOO-HOO!

Little Malabar and Mole ride the growing ocean floor as it grows into a mountain. A smaller mountain grows beside it between the two islands.

Little Malabar says, IT'S LIKE AN ELEVATOR.

He giggles.

He says, UP HIGHER, AND EVEN HIGHER!
KEEP GOING!

The two islands become one.

Little Malabar says, WOW, LOOK AT THAT, MOLE.
NOW THERE'S ONLY ONE BIG ISLAND!
OH, HEY, DO YOU RECOGNIZE IT?
THAT'S OUR ISLAND!

Earth says, THAT'S RIGHT!
THAT'S HOW YOUR ISLAND WAS BORN!
TWO ISLANDS BUMPED INTO
EACH OTHER AND THEN THEY
CREATED THE MOUNTAIN!

Dirt flies past Little Malabar.

Little Malabar says, GREAT JOB, LITTLE MOLE.

At the top of a hole is a large shell fossil.

Little Malabar says, THAT'S THE PRETTIEST LITTLE
SEASHELL FOR YOUR SAND CASTLE!

Little Malabar admires the fossil. Mole tosses out tiny shell fossils from his hole in the mountain.

Little Malabar says, HUH?

(Squeaking)

Mole looks at Little Malabar. Little Malabar giggles. He carries the shells down the mountain and decorates his sandcastle with them.

He says, LOOK AT THAT!
IT'S MAGNIFICENT!

Little Malabar picks up Mole. He hugs Mole. Little Malabar places Mole on top of the large shell fossil in the middle of the sandcastle.

Little Malabar says, NOW, YOU ARE THE QUEEN
OF FOSSILIZED SEA SHELLS.

Little Malabar giggles.

A narrator says, PLATES MOVE UNDER
THE EARTH'S SURFACE.
THEY BUMP INTO EACH OTHER,
AND THEY RISE UP
FROM UNDER THE OCEANS.
THEY FORM MOUNTAINS,
AND SOMETIMES WE FIND
FOSSILIZED SEASHELLS
ON TOP OF THEM!
