Little Malabar is a curious little boy who travels in space jumping on planets. He is blonde and wears a white T-shirt with the sun on the front and blue shorts.

Opening credits read, tchack and Pictanovo, with the support of Region Hauts de France and the participation of francetelevisions presents.

A song plays TO THE MOON AND BACK

Little Malabar says HA-HA!

The song continues I JUMP ON EVERY PLANET
AND EVERY STAR
C'MON, LET'S GO FAR
EXPLORE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE,
LITTLE MALABAR

The title reads, “Little Malabar. Music by Fred Pallem. Directed by Patrick Volve.”

A narrator says, LIGHTNING BOLTS FROM CLOUDS.

Little Malabar lie on a beach under a red umbrella. The sun shines on him with a smiling face. A blue cooler sits on the beach next to Little Malabar.

Little Malabar says, WOW, SUN, YOU'RE REALLY WARM
TODAY.
IT MAKES ME WANT TO DIVE INTO
THE SEA!

Little Malabar hops across two rocks and dives into the sea. A purple octopus sits on a rock.

Little Malabar says, AHH!
OH, OCTOPUS, ARE YOU NOT TOO HOT
TODAY?

(The octopus sighs)

The octopus flops on the rock. Water droplets rise off the sea.

The water droplets say, YES, IT'S VERY HOT.
WE'RE OFF ON A JOURNEY INTO THE
AIR!

Little Malabar says, WOW!
WELL, WHO ARE YOU?

The water droplets say, WE ARE MINISCULE DROPLETS OF
WATER.

Little Malabar says, BUT WHERE EXACTLY ARE YOU
GOING?

The water droplets say, WE'RE GOING UP INTO THE SKY
WHERE WE WILL FORM CLOUDS
AND EVEN HUGE CUMULONIMBI!

The water droplets form into a large cloud beside the sun.

(The octopus squeaks)

Little Malabar says, HA-HA, FOR SURE.
LET'S GO INTO THAT CLOUD!

More water droplets say, WE CAN TAKE YOU THERE IF YOU
WISH.

Little Malabar and the octopus hop onto water droplets rising into the sky.

Little Malabar says, YES, PLEASE!
AND WE'RE OFF!
WOW, HA-HA!
NEXT STOP IS THAT HUGE CLOUD UP
THERE.

Little Malabar and the octopus rise into the large cloud. They shiver.

Little Malabar says, BRR, IT'S REALLY COLD HERE.

A water droplet says, IT IS SO COLD THAT WE
TRANSFORM INTO...

All the water droplets say, ICE CRYSTALS!

A water droplet transforms into a snowflake-shaped ice crystal.

Little Malabar says, YOU CRYSTALS ARE BEAUTIFUL.
WHOA, WHOA, IT'S WINDY UP HERE!

(Little Malabar laughs)

Little Malabar hangs onto the octopus as they blow higher in the cloud.

Little Malabar says, LET'S GO EVEN HIGHER!

(The octopus squeaks)

The octopus blows away from Little Malabar.

Little Malabar says, OCTOPUS, WAIT UP!

(The octopus squeaks)

Little Malabar floats in the cloud, surrounded by snowflake-shaped ice crystals.

A crystal says, HEY, LOOK WHO'S COMING DOWN.

Little Malabar says, OCTOPUS?

Round balls of ice fall around Little Malabar.

A round ball of ice says, WELL, NO, WE ARE GRAUPEL.
HI THERE, EVERYONE.

Little Malabar says, YOU'RE GRAUPEL?

A graupel says, THAT'S RIGHT.

A second graupel says, WE'RE BASICALLY LITTLE BALLS
OF ICE.

A third graupel says, WE WERE FORMED HIGH UP IN THE
CLOUD WHERE IT IS EVEN COLDER.

A fourth graupel says, AND BECAUSE WE'RE A BIT HEAVY
WELL, WE COME BACK DOWN.
HI THERE, CRYSTAL.

A crystal says, HI THERE, GRAUPEL.

The graupel says, HOW ARE YOU?

The crystal says, FINE, AND YOU?

A smiling grey ball pops out of an ice crystal and onto a graupel.

The grey ball says, OH, GREAT, WE'RE IN FOR A
RIDE.

Little Malabar asks, OOH, WAIT A SECOND.
WHO ARE YOU?

A grey ball says, US? WE ARE ELECTRONS.

A second grey ball electron says, WHEN THE GRAUPELS TOUCH THE
CRYSTALS WE ARE ABLE TO TRAVEL
WITH THEM.

Little Malabar says, I HOPE YOU ELECTRONS HAVE A
SAFE TRIP WITH THE GRAUPEL THEN.

Little Malabar floats higher in the cloud.

A group of ice crystals say, HELLO!

One of the crystals says, WELCOME UP HERE WITH THE BIG
CRYSTALS AT THE CLOUD'S SUMMIT.

Little Malabar says, HELLO.
CAN YOU SEE MY FRIEND OCTOPUS
UP THERE?

A second crystal says, WELL, NO. CAN YOU?

A third crystal says, ME NEITHER.

(The crystals giggle)

Little Malabar says, HEY, WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU
CRYSTALS?

The crystals flicker and glow blue.

The crystals say, WE'RE GETTING TICKLED INSIDE
US.

A smiling blue ball zooms out of a crystal.

The blue ball says, IT'S BECAUSE OF US.
WE'RE CALLED IONS AND WE'RE
SUPER AGITATED.
WE'VE LOST OUR ELECTRONS.
CAN YOU SEE THEM AROUND?

Little Malabar says, YES, THEY WENT OFF WITH
THE GRAUPEL THAT ARE DOWN BELOW.

Several electrons ride on a graupel.

One of the electrons says,
WE'RE DOWN HERE IN THE MIDDLE
OF THE CLOUD.
WE'RE COMING!

The electrons fly off the graupel.

A blue ball ion says, THAT'S GREAT. THANK YOU.

A second ion says, I'LL LOOK FOR A PATH TO JOIN
THEM.
YOO-HOO, ELECTRONS!
WHERE ARE YOU?

The octopus floats in the cloud next to several graupels.

An electron says, WE'RE DOWN HERE BELOW AS
WELL.
LET'S GO!

An electron and an ion hold hands.

The ion says, HEY, UP THERE!
OUR ELECTRONS ARE DOWN BELOW.
COME ON!

Ions and electrons pop out of ice crystals.

Little Malabar says, BUT WHAT'S GOING ON NOW?

Little Malabar rides a bolt of lightning down the cloud.

Little Malabar says, WHOA!

(Little Malabar laughs)

(Thunder rumbling)

Little Malabar says, WHOA, WHAT WAS THAT?

An ion says, A LIGHTNING BOLT!
IT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ALL
FOLLOW THE SAME PATH TO MEET
BACK UP WITH OUR ELECTRONS.

The octopus taps Little Malabar on the shoulder.

Little Malabar says, OCTOPUS, HA-HA.
WE'LL BE ABLE TO TAKE THE PATH
THAT LEADS HOME.

An electron says, A NEW PATH?
LET'S GO!

(Quirky electronic music)

An Ion and an electron hold hands.

The electron says, IT'S OKAY, WE CAN GO THIS WAY.
COME ON, GUYS.

Little Malabar, the Octopus, and a bunch of ions and electrons ride bolts of lightning down to a mountain.

Little Malabar says, WHOA!
WOO-HOO!

Little Malabar bounces off the mountain and lands on the beach.

(Little Malabar laughs)

Little Malabar says, WE CAME BACK HOME AS FAST AS
LIGHTNING.

(Thunder rumbling)

Little Malabar holds the octopus over his head as it rains.

Little Malabar says, OH, AND THE DROPLETS CAME BACK
AS WELL.
AND I HAVE THE PERFECT HAT TO
WEAR IN THE RAIN.

(Little Malabar and the octopus laugh)

Ice crystals float in the sky.

The narrator says,
IN THE CLOUDS,
ICE CRYSTALS TRAVEL UP AND DOWN
WHILE EXCHANGING ELECTRONS.
ALL AT ONCE THESE ELECTRICAL
CHARGES UNITE
AND FOLLOW THE SAME PATHWAY
CREATING LIGHTNING BOLTS.

(Soft electronic music)

End credits.
