Serena and Emma stand behind the kitchen island. Emma wears a black and white striped long sleeved shirt under light blue overalls. She wears her long brown hair in braid.
Emma says, FIRST OF ALL,
WE PREHEAT THE OVEN
TO 350 DEGREES FARENHEIT
OR 177 CELCIUS.
Emma sets the temperature on an oven.
Serena says, NOT WE'RE GOING TO COOK
TWO LASAGNA NOODLES.
LET'S FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS
ON THE PACKAGE.
Serena sets the temperature on a portable cooktop with a pot of water. She adds two lasagna noodles to the pot and sets a timer for 10 minutes. The water boils. The timer beeps. Serena and Emma gasp and their eyes widen. Serena pulls one of the lasagna noodles from the pot with a pair of tongs.
Emma says, ONCE IT'S COOKED
AND COOLED DOWN,
WITH CLEAN SCISSORS,
WE CUT THOSE LASAGNA NOODLES
INTO FOUR PIECES.
Serena and Emma each cut a lasagna noodle into four even pieces.
Emma says, WE'LL GRATE
ONE THIRD OF A CUP OF CHEDDAR…
Text reads, 1/3 cup (175 milliliters).
Emma adds, …AND THREE THIRDS OF A CUP
OF MOZZARELLA.
Text reads, 2/3 cup (150 milliliters).
Serena and Emma grate cheese onto a cutting board. They set aside their cheese graters.

NOW.
Serena uses a tablespoon to pour tomato sauce into a small dish.
Emma says, WE POUR A LITTLE SAUCE
IN THESE RAMEKINS SO THAT
THE PASTA DOES NOT STICK.

THE LAST BIT OF SAUCE.
AND THE CHEDDAR CHEESE.
Emma adds the last ingredients to her dish and places a baking tray with both hers and Serena’s mini lasagna’s into the oven while wearing oven mitts.
Emma says, OFF TO THE OVEN
FOR 30 MINUTES.
YOU CAN FINISH COOKING
THE LASAGNA WITH THE BROIL
OPTION ON YOUR OVEN.
Emma sets the broil option on the oven.
Serena says, SO THE CHEESE CAN GET NICE
AND CRISPY.
The oven beeps. Text reads, Ready!
Serena says, IT'S READY!
Emma takes the tray with the mini lasagnas from the oven to the island while wearing oven mitts. She places the tray on a cooling rack. Text reads, Cool Down. Serena and Emma hold mini fans over their lasagna dishes. They sample their lasagnas. Emma nods.
She says, THIS IS FANTASTIC.
Serena says, YEAH.
Emma says, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
