Serena says, AND ONE TABLESPOON
OF BAKING POWDER.
Emma says, WE ARE READY FOR

Emma says, LET'S START BY PREHEATING
THE OVEN TO
350 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.

Emma says, OR 177 CELSIUS.

Serena says, IN A BOWL, WE MASH THE BANANAS
WITH A FORK AND THAT'S WHY
THEY HAVE TO BE

Emma says, IF YOUR BANANAS ARE NOT
QUITE RIPE YET,
YOU CAN PUT THEM IN THE OVEN

Serena says, WE ADD THE EGGS.

Emma cracks an egg into the bowl.

She cracks a third egg into the bowl.

AND NOW WE MIX IT ALL
WITH A WOODEN SPOON.
Emma mixes the ingredients together.
Serena says, WE GRADUALLY
ADD THE FLOUR
AND THE BAKING POWDER.
She collects a cup of flour. Text reads, 2 cups (480 milliliters)/
Serena says, WE NEED TWO CUPS OF FLOUR.
She adds the cup of flower to the bowl.
She counts, ONE.
Emma says, I'LL STIR.
She grabs the bowl and mixes the ingredients together with the wooden spoon. Emma adds a second cup of flour to the bowl.
She says, AND TWO.
Serena mixes the ingredients together.
She says, DON'T FORGET TO PUT
THE BAKING POWDER IN,
OR ELSE IT WILL BE VERY FLAT.
She adds a tablespoon of baking powder to the bowl. Text reads, 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters).
Serena says, WE NEED ONE TABLESPOON.
AND WE MIX.
She mixes the baking soda in with the rest of the ingredients.
She says, MIX, MIX, MIX.
ONCE THAT'S ALL MIXED WELL,
WE GREASE THE BOTTOM
OF THE MUFFIN CUPS
WITH BUTTER, MARGARINE OR OIL.
WE USE OIL.
Serena and Emma grease a mini muffin tray.
Serena says, NOW, WE CAN POUR
THE MIXTURE IN THE CUPS.
IT HELPS TO USE
AN ICE CREAM SCOOP.
Serena and Emma scoop the muffin batter into the tray with mini ice cream scoops.
Serena says, THEY'RE READY FOR THE OVEN NOW.
She slides the muffin tray into the oven while wearing oven mitts. Text reads, 25 minutes. She and Emma gather their dirty dishes. Serena puts their dish of oil in the kitchen sink. Emma wipes down the countertop.
Serena says, LET'S PLAY A CARD GAME.
She deals cards.
She says, ONE, TWO.
Serena looks at Emma.
She says, GO FISH.
Emma picks up a card.
She says, THREE, TWO, ONE.
She and Serena each flip a card onto the counter. The oven beeps. Text reads, Ready!
Together, Serena and Emma say, IT'S READY!
Serena takes the muffins out of the oven with oven mitts. She and Emma wave fans over the tray. Text reads, Cool Down. Serena puts a mini muffin on a plate.
She says, HERE YOU GO.
She puts the plate in front of Emma. Emma and Serena take a bite of their muffins.
Serena says, MMM.TASTY.
WE DID IT!
She and Emma say, WHAT A CHALLENGE!
