Marine life navigates the ocean.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, OVER THE OCEAN
AND OVER THE REEF.
THERE'S A SUNNY LITTLE PLACE
CALLED KANGAROO BEACH.

The singer sings, FRIZZY, GEMMA,
NEVILLE AND POUNCE.
Frizzy, a koala with blue fur, balances sunglasses on her head. Gemma, a platypus, wears goggles strapped over her head. Neville, a wombat, wears a bucket hat. Pounce, a kangaroo, hops over his friends and down a slide. All the friends wear a red and blue uniform.
The singer and others sing, CADETS IN THE CLUB,
SO COME ON, LET'S BOUNCE.
Gemma, Frizzy and Neville follow Pounce down the slide.
The singer sings, GOOD FRIENDS SURFIN'
SWIMMIN', LEARNIN’
Pounce surfs down the slide. Gemma slides down on her stomach. Fizzy follows with her hands in the air. Neville spins down the slide.
He screams, AAH!
Outside, on the Kangaroo Beach dock, he blows a whistle and points to the water.
[Whistle blaring]
The singer sings, BONDI, SANDY,
BIG TREV TOO.
Bondi and Sandy, kangaroos, speed across the water on a boat. Underwater, Frizzy travels in a submarine with Big Trev, a bearded koala with green fur.
The singer sings, TRAININ' WITH THE VERY BEST
LIFEGUARD CREW.
STAYIN' SAFE, BEING BRAVE,
RIDE A WAVE, MAKE A SAVE.
Gemma rides in a helicopter. Pounce rides in a boat with Bondi. The lifeguards and junior cadets return to the beach. The cadets surf a big wave.
The singer sings, WE'RE HERE ALL SUMMER,
IT JUST GETS FUNNER.
LET'S HOP DOWN TO...
A large wave crashes into the lifeguards and cadets on the beach.
The singer sings, …KANGAROO BEACH!
Title, Kangaroo Beach. A splash of water reveals the episode title on the beach.
Frizzy reads, THE TROPHY MYSTERY.
Text reads, Written by Charlotte Rose Hamlyn. A wave splashes over the episode title and reveals the lifeguard headquarters on Kangaroo Beach. Inside, Gemma, Neville, Frizzy and Pounce sit on a surfboard bench. They face Bondi, who stands in front of a large monitor.
Bondi says, POP QUIZ, CADETS.
A young penguin wanders up to a surfboard bench.
Bondi says, OH, WOW, AND SPECIAL GUEST,
PHILLIPA.
Phillipa waves.
She says, HI.
[Phillipa giggling]
Bondi asks the cadets, WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT
THING YOU SHOULD DO WHENEVER
YOU'RE AROUND THE WATER?
Pounce says, DIVE STRAIGHT IN.
Gemma says, WEAR SUNSCREEN.
Frizzy says, LOOK FABULOUS.
Phillipa joins the cadets on their bench.
She says, I LIKE FISHY!
Bondi frowns.
He says, ALMOST.
BUT THE ANSWER IS PAY ATTENTION.
The cadets speak over each other.
Pounce says, GOT IT.
Frizzy says, I WILL.
Neville says, OKAY.
Phillipa slips backward off the bench.
She stands up and says, FISHIES.
[Cadets laughing]
Big Trev joins the cadets lesson.
He says, EXCUSE ME, KIDS, COMING
THROUGH.
Sandy follows.
She says, OH, YES, LOOK WHAT'S JUST
ARRIVED.
She carries a large gold, shell shaped trophy.
The cadets say, OOH!
Bondi says, AND WHAT'S THE NUMBER ONE
ENEMY OF PAYING ATTENTION?
Big Trev and Sandi join Bondi.
Frizzy says, BIG, GOLD, SHINY THING.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, YEP.
IT'S DISTRACTIONS.
Phillipa says, SHINY!
Sandi puts the trophy on the ground.
The cadets say, OOH.
They admire the trophy.
Pounce says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY TROPHY.
Frizzy asks, WHY IS IT SO BIG AND SHINY?
Neville says, BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST AWARD
LIFEGUARDS CAN WIN IN THE WHOLE
COUNTRY.
Big Trev says, THAT'S RIGHT.
AND TODAY, WE FOUND OUT IT'S
BEEN AWARDED TO THE LIFEGUARDS
HERE AT KANGAROO BEACH.
THAT'S US.
The cadets say, WOAH!
Big Trev passes the trophy to Bondi.
Bondi says, OH, I DON'T DO IT FOR THE
TROPHIES, OF COURSE.
Sandy says skeptically, NO, OF COURSE YOU DON'T.
She crosses her arms.
[Alarm blaring]
Red lights flash above the monitor. The lifeguards and cadets check the monitor that shows an animated aerial view of Kangaroo Beach. An icon in the water near an island flashes. A blue feathered bird appears in a video call on the monitor.
He says, MAYDAY!
MAYDAY!
LIFEGUARDS HELP!
MY BOAT'S RUN AGROUND ON
THE REEF.
Sandy says, WHOA, LOOKS LIKE FERDINAND'S
IN TROUBLE.
Bondi says, LET'S BOUNCE.
Big Trev says, CADETS, WE'LL NEED YOU TO
KEEP AN EYE ON PHILLIPA WHILE
WE'RE GONE.
Bondi adds, AND REMEMBER, PAY ATTENTION
AROUND THE WATER AND PHILLIPA.
The three lifeguards leave the room.
Pounce says, OKAY.
Neville says, WE GOT IT.
He holds onto Phillipa.
Gemma says, SURE THING.
Frizzy says, COOL.
From the headquarters window, the cadets watch Bondi and Sandy leave in the rescue boat. Big Trev flies the rescue helicopter.
[Water splashing]
[Helicopter whirring]
Neville says, WOW.
NO WONDER THEY WON THE GOLDEN
CRABBY.
THEY'RE HEROES.
Pounce says, LET'S GO AND PRACTICE PAYING
ATTENTION!
Neville says, BUT WE SAID WE'LL LOOK AFTER
PHILLIPA.
Pounce says, THAT'S OKAY, SHE CAN JOIN US.
CAN'T YOU, PHILLIPA?
The cadets look around. Phillipa is no longer with them.
They says, HUH?
Pounce says, OH, NO!
PHILLIPA?
Neville calls, PHILLIPA!
Gemma says, PHILLIPA!
Neville says, THIS IS BAD.
Pounce asks, IS THAT HER?
Neville says, LET'S GO GET HER.
Gemma says, HURRY!
Pounce leads the cadets away from the window. Outside, on the beach, Phillipa stands at the water’s edge beside Gemma, Pounce and Neville.
Gemma says, AND NO MORE RUNNING OFF, OKAY?
Phillipa says, OKAY.
Frizzy joins the group carrying the Golden Crabby trophy. The other cadets look confused. Frizzy drops the trophy down on the beach. Sand billows and the cadets step back. Frizzy smiles.
Pounce says, FRIZZY, WHY'D YOU BRING THAT
DOWN HERE?
Frizzy says, TO GUARD AGAINST TROPHY
THIEVES.
Pounce says, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PAYING
ATTENTION.
Frizzy says, I AM PAYING ATTENTION.
I'VE GOT MY EYES ON THE WATER
AND ON THE PRIZE.
TWO EYES MEANS TWO ATTENTIONS.
Gemma pushes the trophy away from Frizzy.
She says, THAT'S NOT HOW ATTENTION
WORKS.
Frizzy says, ISN'T IT, GEMMA?
ISN'T IT?
Gemma and Frizzy walk away from Phillipa.
Gemma says, NO.
Frizzy says, SAYS WHO?
Gemma says, SAYS LOGIC.
Behind Phillipa, the trophy moves. It falls over. Phillipa looks at the trophy.
Frizzy says, NEVER HEARD OF HER.
Gemma says, I HAVE EARS TOO.
A crab walks beside the trophy.
[Phillipa gasping]
Phillipa says, WOW.
Frizzy says, SEE, THAT'S THREE
ATTENTIONS.
Gemma says, MATHEMATICALLY,
THAT'S FOUR ATTENTIONS.
Frizzy says, EVEN BETTER.
As the friends argue in the distance, the crab swaps out their dirty shell for the shiny golden trophy shell.
Frizzy continues, FOUR.
PLUS MY NOSE.
Phillipa says, CRABBY.
A short distance away, Pounce looks out on the water using binoculars. All four cadets look distracted.
Gemma says, YOUR NOSE DOESN'T COUNT,
FRIZZY.
YOU HAVE ZERO ATTENTIONS.
Phillipa watches the crab, now wearing the trophy shell.
Gemma adds, ZERO.
Phillipa says, GOLDEN CRABBY!
The crab walks past Phillipa in the trophy.
Phillipa says, BIG CRABBY!
She points toward the crab, who scurries behind the distracted cadets.
Frizzy says, NOT NOW, PHILLIPA.
THE BIG KIDS ARE TALKING ABOUT
HOW TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE
GOLDEN CRA –
She looks back toward Phillipa, where the trophy is missing, and only the dirty shell remains.
[Cadets gasping]
Frizzy asks, WHERE'D IT GO?
Phillipa says, CRABBY GONE.
She points in the crab’s direction.
The cadets say, NO WAY.
They look worried.
Gemma says, UH-OH!
Frizzy says, WHAT DID I TELL YOU?
THIS IS THE WORK OF TROPHY
THIEVES.
Pounce says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY MEANS
EVERYTHING TO THE LIFEGUARDS.
Frizzy says, WE HAVE TO FIND IT BEFORE THE
LIFEGUARDS GET BACK.
LET'S SPLIT UP AND SEARCH.
PHILLIPA, YOU'RE WITH ME.
She pulls Phillipa along the beach with her.
Phillipa says, CRABBY!
Elsewhere on the beach, in front of the changing rooms, Frizzy, Neville and Phillipa walk sideways like crabs. Neville holds Phillipa’s fin.
Frizzy says, SNAPPY, SNAPPY, SNAP, SNAP.
Neville says, FRIZZY, WHY ARE WE WALKING
LIKE THIS?
Frizzy says, ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR WOMBAT.
The cadets pause, and Neville releases Phillipa’s fin.
Frizzy continues, BY LOOKING LIKE THE TROPHY, WE
CAN TRICK THE THIEF INTO COMING
OUT A SECOND TIME.
Neville says, BUT FRIZZY, THE GOLDEN CRABBY
DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A CRAB.
[Frizzy shushing]
Frizzy says, LESS QUESTIONING, MORE
GESTURING.
SNAPPY, SNAPPY, SNAP, SNAP.
Frizzy and Neville continue walking like crabs alongside the changing rooms.
Phillipa says, GOLDEN CRABBY.
She points in the other direction. Neville grabs her fin and pulls her away. Elsewhere on the beach, Ghërkinnn sleeps on a towel. Pounce looks worried.
He says, SURELY SOMEONE MUST HAVE
SEEN THE THIEF CARRYING A GIANT
GOLDEN TROPHY.
Pounce and Gemma look at Ghërkinnn sleeping
[Ghërkinnn snoring]
Pounce hops over to Ghërkinnn.
He says, EXCUSE ME, GHERKIN…
Ghërkinnn wakes up.
Pounce continues, …BUT HAVE YOU
SEEN A CRAB TROPHY, ABOUT THIS
BIG, MADE OF PURE GOLD?
Ghërkinnn sits up on his towel.
He says, OH, MY GOODNESS, NO.
WHERE IS IT?
Gemma accusingly says, THAT'S WHAT WE'RE ASKING YOU,
BUDDY.
Ghërkinnn says, BUT I AM NOT KNOWING.
Gemma demands, WHAT ARE YOU NOT KNOWING?
Ghërkinnn says, AH, NOTHING!
I AM NOTHING NOT KNOWING.
Gemma says, YOU'RE HIDING SOMETHING.
WHERE'S THE TROPHY?
Ghërkinnn says, I DON'T KNOW.
I MUST BE GOING FAR AWAY NOW.
He runs away from the cadets.
Pounce says, GEMMA, IF YOU TALK TO ANYONE
LIKE THAT, THEY WON'T HELP US.
Gemma says, I DON'T NEED HELP, I NEED THE
TRUTH, AND I'M GOING TO BE THE
ONE TO FIND IT.
She starts to walk away from Pounce.
Pounce says, I BET YOU I CAN FIND IT
FIRST.
He looks annoyed. He leaves in the opposite direction. Outside a cave on the beach, Frizzy continues walking like a crab. Phillipa walks like a crab beside her. Neville walks normally. He looks tired.
He says, FRIZZY, I'M HUNGRY.
Frizzy stops suddenly.
[Frizzy gasping]
Neville says, I HAVEN'T EATEN IN AT LEAST HALF
AN HOUR.
In the distance, Frizzy notices a golden sparkle in a small rock pool.
Frizzy says, SHH, NEVILLE.
DETECTIVE AT WORK.
WATCH PHILLIPA, WHILE I
INVESTIGATE A SHINY THING IN THE
ROCK POOL.
She hurries toward the rock pool.
Neville tiredly says, OKAY.
BUT DON'T TAKE TOO LONG.
Elsewhere the beach, Gemma follows a trail of tracks in the sand. She looks determined. Gemma follows the trail to Neville and Phillipa.
Gemma says, YOU! WHERE WERE YOU THE
MINUTE THE GOLDEN CRABBY WENT
MISSING?
Neville says, I WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO
YOU, GEMMA.
Gemma says, OH, YEAH?
Neville says, YEAH.
Gemma says, HOW CONVENIENT.
A koala calls, WATERMELON.
TOTALLY FREE WATERMELON.
She carries a tray of water melon past Phillipa and the cadets.
Neville asks, CAN YOU WATCH PHILLIPA FOR A
MINUTE?
He puts Phillipa beside Gemma.
Gemma says, SURE.
Neville says, THANKS, GEMMA!
He quickly follows the koala. Phillipa watches him walk away.
Gemma says, THIS WAY!
She does a cartwheel in the opposite direction. Phillipa waddles after her as another beachgoer wearing a sweat band and headphones runs by.
Gemma says, LOOK, PHILLIPA.
SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR .
LET'S FIND OUT WHAT THEY'RE
RUNNING FROM.
She quickly follows the runner.
[Gemma panting]
Gemma pauses. She looks back at Phillipa.
She says, HURRY!
THEY'RE GETTING AWAY!
Phillipa sits down. Gemma glances between the runner and Phillipa.
Gemma says, OH, NO.
Behind Phillipa, Pounce searches through sand castle buckets.
Gemma says, HEY, POUNCE, CAN YOU WATCH
PHILLIPA?
Pounce says, SURE!
He waves toward Gemma. He glances to his right, and his eyes widen at a panda walking down the beach. A yellow light shines from their hands.
[Pounce gasping]
Pounce says, THE TROPHY!
He hops toward the panda, then looks back at Phillipa.
Pounce says, OH, NO.
WAIT!
The panda walks further down the beach. Frizzy walks backward past a boulder. She scratches her head.
Pounce calls out, HEY, FRIZZY, CAN YOU WATCH
PHILLIPA?
I'VE GOT A HOT LEAD.
Frizzy looks distracted.
She calls out, ALL GOOD.
She doesn’t look at Pounce.
Pounce says, THANKS.
He leaves Phillipa alone. Frizzy continues her search near the boulder. She looks around a collection of rock pools.
Frizzy says, IN EVERY DETECTIVE STORY,
IT'S ALWAYS THE LAST PERSON YOU
SUSPECT.
AND THE LAST PERSON I'D SUSPECT
IS...
She looks thoughtful.
She says, ME!
Frizzy points to her reflection in a rock pool.
She says, NOW, WHERE DID YOU HIDE THAT
TROPHY, YOU GORGEOUS AND
TALENTED THIEF?
On the beach, Phillipa watches Pounce chase the panda, who carries a bucket, down the beach.
Pounce says, HEY!
The crab wearing the trophy walks by.
Phillipa says, GOLDY CRABBY!
The crab scurries away.
Phillipa says, CRABBY, COME BACK!
She follows the crab around the beach.
She says, GOLD CRABBY.
CRABBY!
Phillipa reaches for the crab.
She says, BIG CRABBY!
The crab scurries behind a rock. Phillipa walks past the rock. The crabby scurries out the other side.
Phillipa says, CRABBY!
She follows the crab over a hill of sand. At the bottom of the hill, Frizzy, Gemma and Pounce gather. They look worried.
[Pounce sighing]
Pounce says, I THOUGHT I SAW THE TROPHY, BUT
IT TURNED OUT TO BE A SPARKLY
BUCKET.
HOW ABOUT YOU TWO?
Gemma says, NOTHING.
FOR SOME REASON, EVERYONE KEEPS
RUNNING AWAY FROM ME.
Neville joins his friends with two slices of watermelon.
Frizzy says, I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE AND
ACCUSED EVERYONE, EVEN MYSELF.
Neville looks around the beach.
He says, HEY, WHERE'S PHILLIPA?
Gemma says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
POUNCE.
Pounce says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
FRIZZY.
Frizzy says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
NEVILLE.
Neville says, AND I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
GEMMA.
The four cadets say, OH, NO!
NOT AGAIN!
They look panicked. Elsewhere on the beach, Phillipa hurries after the trophy wearing crab. Phillipa and the crab leave tracks in the sand.
She says, GOLDY CRABBY!
On the sand hill, the cadets pause near the top. Neville stands on a rock with binoculars.
Gemma says, THOSE LOOK LIKE PHILLIPA'S
TRACKS.
Neville watches Phillipa through the binoculars.
He says, OH, NO, SHE'S HEADED FOR THE
POOL AND SHE CAN BARELY SWIM!
Phillipa reaches the pool, which is closed off by glass fencing. She watches the trophy wearing crab climb over the wall.
She says, OOH...
The crab drops over the wall inside the trophy.
[Clinking]
Phillipa says, HELLO, CRABBY.
The crab drops into the pool.
[Splashing]
Phillipa says, FUNNY CRABBY.
A panda opens the fenced off pool’s door and walks out. Phillipa sneaks through the door.
[Phillipa giggling]
Phillipa says, CRABBY, COME BACK!
[Water splashing]
The cadets hurry up the rock steps leading to the pool.
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
Gemma says, UH OH.
Pounce says, COME ON.
Neville runs up to a post with a button located beside the pool.
He says, CADETS TO THE RESCUE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
At the edge of the pool, Frizzy quickly reaches for a pool noodle.
[Frizzy grunting]
In the pool, Phillipa says, HELP ME.
She splashes in the water.
Frizzy says, GRAB THIS!
She holds the noodle out toward Phillipa.
[Phillipa yelping]
Neville holds Frizzy steady as Frizzy tries to reach Phillipa with the noodle. Pounce and Gemma run up to the other cadets.
Phillipa says, HELP ME.
Gemma says, I'M GOING IN.
She dives into the pool and swims up behind Phillipa.
Gemma says, STAY CALM, PHILLIPA.
She helps Phillipa to the edge of the pool. Neville and Pounce pull Phillipa out of the water.
Pounce says, WE'VE GOT YOU.
Frizzy hands Pounce the pool noodle. She comforts Phillipa.
Frizzy asks, ARE YOU OKAY, PHILLIPA?
Phillipa says, GOLD CRABBY.
She points to the trophy wearing scrab just outside the pool. The cadets look shocked.
[Phillipa giggling]
Frizzy says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY!
YOU FOUND IT, PHILLIPA!
The crab appears from inside the trophy shell.
Frizzy says, AND IT'S ALIVE?!
Bondi and Sandy join the cadets.
Sandy says, WHAT?
OUR TROPHY WENT WALKIES?
[Cadets laughing]
Back at lifeguard headquarters, Sandy says, SO, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT WENT
WRONG TODAY, CADETS?
She sits on a bench with Phillipa and the cadets. The Golden Crabby trophy is on the floor beside them.
Frizzy says, MY HAIR.
Neville says, I ACCIDENTALLY ATE THE GREEN
BIT OF MY WATERMELON.
Sandy says, EHH, YEAH.
ANYONE ELSE?
ANYONE AT ALL?
Gemma says, WE WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION
TO PHILLIPA BECAUSE WE WERE TOO
BUSY LOOKING FOR THE TROPHY.
Sandy says, AND WHAT DID YOU DO RIGHT?
Neville says, WE ALERTED THE LIFEGUARDS
WHEN WE SAW PHILLIPA NEEDED
HELP.
Frizzy says, AND WE HANDED HER SOMETHING
THAT COULD FLOAT BEFORE WE
JUMPED IN THE POOL.
Big Trev and Bondi join the group.
Bondi says, NOW, YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT
IT IS TO PAY ATTENTION AROUND
THE WATER.
AND THE MAIN THING IS
PHILLIPA'S SAFE.
Big Trev adds, AND YOU GOT THE GOLDEN CRABBY
BACK.
He grabs the trophy. The trophy wearing crab pops up from the trophy’s shell and pinches Big Trev’s nose.
[Chomping]
Big Trev jumps back from the trophy.
He says, GREAT GUM NUTS!
He holds his nose. Gemma brings a large shell over to the crab.
She says, COME ON, LITTLE CRAB, TRY
THIS ON FOR A NEW HOME.
The crab climbs into Gemma’s shell. Gemma lowerse the crab to the floor.
The cadets say, AWW.
Gemma says, OH, SHE LOVES IT.
Frizzy says, NOW, THERE'S JUST ONE THING
LEFT TO DO.
Pounce asks, WHAT'S THAT?
Frizzy says, CELEBRATE!
[Cadets cheering]
Neville says, YEAH, ALL RIGHT!
Frizzy says, EVERYONE, DO THE GOLDEN
CRABBY!
The lifeguards and cadets dance like how crabs walk.
[Cheering]

Frizzy reads, THE TROPHY MYSTERY.
Text reads, Written by Charlotte Rose Hamlyn. A wave splashes over the episode title and reveals the lifeguard headquarters on Kangaroo Beach. Inside, Gemma, Neville, Frizzy and Pounce sit on a surfboard bench. They face Bondi, who stands in front of a large monitor.
Bondi says, POP QUIZ, CADETS.
A young penguin wanders up to a surfboard bench.
Bondi says, OH, WOW, AND SPECIAL GUEST,
PHILLIPA.
Phillipa waves.
She says, HI.
[Phillipa giggling]
Bondi asks the cadets, WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT
THING YOU SHOULD DO WHENEVER
YOU'RE AROUND THE WATER?
Pounce says, DIVE STRAIGHT IN.
Gemma says, WEAR SUNSCREEN.
Frizzy says, LOOK FABULOUS.
Phillipa joins the cadets on their bench.
She says, I LIKE FISHY!
Bondi frowns.
He says, ALMOST.
BUT THE ANSWER IS PAY ATTENTION.
The cadets speak over each other.
Pounce says, GOT IT.
Frizzy says, I WILL.
Neville says, OKAY.
Phillipa slips backward off the bench.
She stands up and says, FISHIES.
[Cadets laughing]
Big Trev joins the cadets lesson.
He says, EXCUSE ME, KIDS, COMING
THROUGH.
Sandy follows.
She says, OH, YES, LOOK WHAT'S JUST
ARRIVED.
She carries a large gold, shell shaped trophy.
The cadets say, OOH!
Bondi says, AND WHAT'S THE NUMBER ONE
ENEMY OF PAYING ATTENTION?
Big Trev and Sandi join Bondi.
Frizzy says, BIG, GOLD, SHINY THING.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, YEP.
IT'S DISTRACTIONS.
Phillipa says, SHINY!
Sandi puts the trophy on the ground.
The cadets say, OOH.
They admire the trophy.
Pounce says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY TROPHY.
Frizzy asks, WHY IS IT SO BIG AND SHINY?
Neville says, BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST AWARD
LIFEGUARDS CAN WIN IN THE WHOLE
COUNTRY.
Big Trev says, THAT'S RIGHT.
AND TODAY, WE FOUND OUT IT'S
BEEN AWARDED TO THE LIFEGUARDS
HERE AT KANGAROO BEACH.
THAT'S US.
The cadets say, WOAH!
Big Trev passes the trophy to Bondi.
Bondi says, OH, I DON'T DO IT FOR THE
TROPHIES, OF COURSE.
Sandy says skeptically, NO, OF COURSE YOU DON'T.
She crosses her arms.
[Alarm blaring]
Red lights flash above the monitor. The lifeguards and cadets check the monitor that shows an animated aerial view of Kangaroo Beach. An icon in the water near an island flashes. A blue feathered bird appears in a video call on the monitor.
He says, MAYDAY!
MAYDAY!
LIFEGUARDS HELP!
MY BOAT'S RUN AGROUND ON
THE REEF.
Sandy says, WHOA, LOOKS LIKE FERDINAND'S
IN TROUBLE.
Bondi says, LET'S BOUNCE.
Big Trev says, CADETS, WE'LL NEED YOU TO
KEEP AN EYE ON PHILLIPA WHILE
WE'RE GONE.
Bondi adds, AND REMEMBER, PAY ATTENTION
AROUND THE WATER AND PHILLIPA.
The three lifeguards leave the room.
Pounce says, OKAY.
Neville says, WE GOT IT.
He holds onto Phillipa.
Gemma says, SURE THING.
Frizzy says, COOL.
From the headquarters window, the cadets watch Bondi and Sandy leave in the rescue boat. Big Trev flies the rescue helicopter.
[Water splashing]
[Helicopter whirring]
Neville says, WOW.
NO WONDER THEY WON THE GOLDEN
CRABBY.
THEY'RE HEROES.
Pounce says, LET'S GO AND PRACTICE PAYING
ATTENTION!
Neville says, BUT WE SAID WE'LL LOOK AFTER
PHILLIPA.
Pounce says, THAT'S OKAY, SHE CAN JOIN US.
CAN'T YOU, PHILLIPA?
The cadets look around. Phillipa is no longer with them.
They says, HUH?
Pounce says, OH, NO!
PHILLIPA?
Neville calls, PHILLIPA!
Gemma says, PHILLIPA!
Neville says, THIS IS BAD.
Pounce asks, IS THAT HER?
Neville says, LET'S GO GET HER.
Gemma says, HURRY!
Pounce leads the cadets away from the window. Outside, on the beach, Phillipa stands at the water’s edge beside Gemma, Pounce and Neville.
Gemma says, AND NO MORE RUNNING OFF, OKAY?
Phillipa says, OKAY.
Frizzy joins the group carrying the Golden Crabby trophy. The other cadets look confused. Frizzy drops the trophy down on the beach. Sand billows and the cadets step back. Frizzy smiles.
Pounce says, FRIZZY, WHY'D YOU BRING THAT
DOWN HERE?
Frizzy says, TO GUARD AGAINST TROPHY
THIEVES.
Pounce says, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PAYING
ATTENTION.
Frizzy says, I AM PAYING ATTENTION.
I'VE GOT MY EYES ON THE WATER
AND ON THE PRIZE.
TWO EYES MEANS TWO ATTENTIONS.
Gemma pushes the trophy away from Frizzy.
She says, THAT'S NOT HOW ATTENTION
WORKS.
Frizzy says, ISN'T IT, GEMMA?
ISN'T IT?
Gemma and Frizzy walk away from Phillipa.
Gemma says, NO.
Frizzy says, SAYS WHO?
Gemma says, SAYS LOGIC.
Behind Phillipa, the trophy moves. It falls over. Phillipa looks at the trophy.
Frizzy says, NEVER HEARD OF HER.
Gemma says, I HAVE EARS TOO.
A crab walks beside the trophy.
[Phillipa gasping]
Phillipa says, WOW.
Frizzy says, SEE, THAT'S THREE
ATTENTIONS.
Gemma says, MATHEMATICALLY,
THAT'S FOUR ATTENTIONS.
Frizzy says, EVEN BETTER.
As the friends argue in the distance, the crab swaps out their dirty shell for the shiny golden trophy shell.
Frizzy continues, FOUR.
PLUS MY NOSE.
Phillipa says, CRABBY.
A short distance away, Pounce looks out on the water using binoculars. All four cadets look distracted.
Gemma says, YOUR NOSE DOESN'T COUNT,
FRIZZY.
YOU HAVE ZERO ATTENTIONS.
Phillipa watches the crab, now wearing the trophy shell.
Gemma adds, ZERO.
Phillipa says, GOLDEN CRABBY!
The crab walks past Phillipa in the trophy.
Phillipa says, BIG CRABBY!
She points toward the crab, who scurries behind the distracted cadets.
Frizzy says, NOT NOW, PHILLIPA.
THE BIG KIDS ARE TALKING ABOUT
HOW TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE
GOLDEN CRA –
She looks back toward Phillipa, where the trophy is missing, and only the dirty shell remains.
[Cadets gasping]
Frizzy asks, WHERE'D IT GO?
Phillipa says, CRABBY GONE.
She points in the crab’s direction.
The cadets say, NO WAY.
They look worried.
Gemma says, UH-OH!
Frizzy says, WHAT DID I TELL YOU?
THIS IS THE WORK OF TROPHY
THIEVES.
Pounce says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY MEANS
EVERYTHING TO THE LIFEGUARDS.
Frizzy says, WE HAVE TO FIND IT BEFORE THE
LIFEGUARDS GET BACK.
LET'S SPLIT UP AND SEARCH.
PHILLIPA, YOU'RE WITH ME.
She pulls Phillipa along the beach with her.
Phillipa says, CRABBY!
Elsewhere on the beach, in front of the changing rooms, Frizzy, Neville and Phillipa walk sideways like crabs. Neville holds Phillipa’s fin.
Frizzy says, SNAPPY, SNAPPY, SNAP, SNAP.
Neville says, FRIZZY, WHY ARE WE WALKING
LIKE THIS?
Frizzy says, ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR WOMBAT.
The cadets pause, and Neville releases Phillipa’s fin.
Frizzy continues, BY LOOKING LIKE THE TROPHY, WE
CAN TRICK THE THIEF INTO COMING
OUT A SECOND TIME.
Neville says, BUT FRIZZY, THE GOLDEN CRABBY
DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A CRAB.
[Frizzy shushing]
Frizzy says, LESS QUESTIONING, MORE
GESTURING.
SNAPPY, SNAPPY, SNAP, SNAP.
Frizzy and Neville continue walking like crabs alongside the changing rooms.
Phillipa says, GOLDEN CRABBY.
She points in the other direction. Neville grabs her fin and pulls her away. Elsewhere on the beach, Ghërkinnn sleeps on a towel. Pounce looks worried.
He says, SURELY SOMEONE MUST HAVE
SEEN THE THIEF CARRYING A GIANT
GOLDEN TROPHY.
Pounce and Gemma look at Ghërkinnn sleeping
[Ghërkinnn snoring]
Pounce hops over to Ghërkinnn.
He says, EXCUSE ME, GHERKIN…
Ghërkinnn wakes up.
Pounce continues, …BUT HAVE YOU
SEEN A CRAB TROPHY, ABOUT THIS
BIG, MADE OF PURE GOLD?
Ghërkinnn sits up on his towel.
He says, OH, MY GOODNESS, NO.
WHERE IS IT?
Gemma accusingly says, THAT'S WHAT WE'RE ASKING YOU,
BUDDY.
Ghërkinnn says, BUT I AM NOT KNOWING.
Gemma demands, WHAT ARE YOU NOT KNOWING?
Ghërkinnn says, AH, NOTHING!
I AM NOTHING NOT KNOWING.
Gemma says, YOU'RE HIDING SOMETHING.
WHERE'S THE TROPHY?
Ghërkinnn says, I DON'T KNOW.
I MUST BE GOING FAR AWAY NOW.
He runs away from the cadets.
Pounce says, GEMMA, IF YOU TALK TO ANYONE
LIKE THAT, THEY WON'T HELP US.
Gemma says, I DON'T NEED HELP, I NEED THE
TRUTH, AND I'M GOING TO BE THE
ONE TO FIND IT.
She starts to walk away from Pounce.
Pounce says, I BET YOU I CAN FIND IT
FIRST.
He looks annoyed. He leaves in the opposite direction. Outside a cave on the beach, Frizzy continues walking like a crab. Phillipa walks like a crab beside her. Neville walks normally. He looks tired.
He says, FRIZZY, I'M HUNGRY.
Frizzy stops suddenly.
[Frizzy gasping]
Neville says, I HAVEN'T EATEN IN AT LEAST HALF
AN HOUR.
In the distance, Frizzy notices a golden sparkle in a small rock pool.
Frizzy says, SHH, NEVILLE.
DETECTIVE AT WORK.
WATCH PHILLIPA, WHILE I
INVESTIGATE A SHINY THING IN THE
ROCK POOL.
She hurries toward the rock pool.
Neville tiredly says, OKAY.
BUT DON'T TAKE TOO LONG.
Elsewhere the beach, Gemma follows a trail of tracks in the sand. She looks determined. Gemma follows the trail to Neville and Phillipa.
Gemma says, YOU! WHERE WERE YOU THE
MINUTE THE GOLDEN CRABBY WENT
MISSING?
Neville says, I WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO
YOU, GEMMA.
Gemma says, OH, YEAH?
Neville says, YEAH.
Gemma says, HOW CONVENIENT.
A koala calls, WATERMELON.
TOTALLY FREE WATERMELON.
She carries a tray of water melon past Phillipa and the cadets.
Neville asks, CAN YOU WATCH PHILLIPA FOR A
MINUTE?
He puts Phillipa beside Gemma.
Gemma says, SURE.
Neville says, THANKS, GEMMA!
He quickly follows the koala. Phillipa watches him walk away.
Gemma says, THIS WAY!
She does a cartwheel in the opposite direction. Phillipa waddles after her as another beachgoer wearing a sweat band and headphones runs by.
Gemma says, LOOK, PHILLIPA.
SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR .
LET'S FIND OUT WHAT THEY'RE
RUNNING FROM.
She quickly follows the runner.
[Gemma panting]
Gemma pauses. She looks back at Phillipa.
She says, HURRY!
THEY'RE GETTING AWAY!
Phillipa sits down. Gemma glances between the runner and Phillipa.
Gemma says, OH, NO.
Behind Phillipa, Pounce searches through sand castle buckets.
Gemma says, HEY, POUNCE, CAN YOU WATCH
PHILLIPA?
Pounce says, SURE!
He waves toward Gemma. He glances to his right, and his eyes widen at a panda walking down the beach. A yellow light shines from their hands.
[Pounce gasping]
Pounce says, THE TROPHY!
He hops toward the panda, then looks back at Phillipa.
Pounce says, OH, NO.
WAIT!
The panda walks further down the beach. Frizzy walks backward past a boulder. She scratches her head.
Pounce calls out, HEY, FRIZZY, CAN YOU WATCH
PHILLIPA?
I'VE GOT A HOT LEAD.
Frizzy looks distracted.
She calls out, ALL GOOD.
She doesn’t look at Pounce.
Pounce says, THANKS.
He leaves Phillipa alone. Frizzy continues her search near the boulder. She looks around a collection of rock pools.
Frizzy says, IN EVERY DETECTIVE STORY,
IT'S ALWAYS THE LAST PERSON YOU
SUSPECT.
AND THE LAST PERSON I'D SUSPECT
IS...
She looks thoughtful.
She says, ME!
Frizzy points to her reflection in a rock pool.
She says, NOW, WHERE DID YOU HIDE THAT
TROPHY, YOU GORGEOUS AND
TALENTED THIEF?
On the beach, Phillipa watches Pounce chase the panda, who carries a bucket, down the beach.
Pounce says, HEY!
The crab wearing the trophy walks by.
Phillipa says, GOLDY CRABBY!
The crab scurries away.
Phillipa says, CRABBY, COME BACK!
She follows the crab around the beach.
She says, GOLD CRABBY.
CRABBY!
Phillipa reaches for the crab.
She says, BIG CRABBY!
The crab scurries behind a rock. Phillipa walks past the rock. The crabby scurries out the other side.
Phillipa says, CRABBY!
She follows the crab over a hill of sand. At the bottom of the hill, Frizzy, Gemma and Pounce gather. They look worried.
[Pounce sighing]
Pounce says, I THOUGHT I SAW THE TROPHY, BUT
IT TURNED OUT TO BE A SPARKLY
BUCKET.
HOW ABOUT YOU TWO?
Gemma says, NOTHING.
FOR SOME REASON, EVERYONE KEEPS
RUNNING AWAY FROM ME.
Neville joins his friends with two slices of watermelon.
Frizzy says, I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE AND
ACCUSED EVERYONE, EVEN MYSELF.
Neville looks around the beach.
He says, HEY, WHERE'S PHILLIPA?
Gemma says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
POUNCE.
Pounce says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
FRIZZY.
Frizzy says, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
NEVILLE.
Neville says, AND I THOUGHT SHE WAS WITH
GEMMA.
The four cadets say, OH, NO!
NOT AGAIN!
They look panicked. Elsewhere on the beach, Phillipa hurries after the trophy wearing crab. Phillipa and the crab leave tracks in the sand.
She says, GOLDY CRABBY!
On the sand hill, the cadets pause near the top. Neville stands on a rock with binoculars.
Gemma says, THOSE LOOK LIKE PHILLIPA'S
TRACKS.
Neville watches Phillipa through the binoculars.
He says, OH, NO, SHE'S HEADED FOR THE
POOL AND SHE CAN BARELY SWIM!
Phillipa reaches the pool, which is closed off by glass fencing. She watches the trophy wearing crab climb over the wall.
She says, OOH...
The crab drops over the wall inside the trophy.
[Clinking]
Phillipa says, HELLO, CRABBY.
The crab drops into the pool.
[Splashing]
Phillipa says, FUNNY CRABBY.
A panda opens the fenced off pool’s door and walks out. Phillipa sneaks through the door.
[Phillipa giggling]
Phillipa says, CRABBY, COME BACK!
[Water splashing]
The cadets hurry up the rock steps leading to the pool.
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
Gemma says, UH OH.
Pounce says, COME ON.
Neville runs up to a post with a button located beside the pool.
He says, CADETS TO THE RESCUE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
At the edge of the pool, Frizzy quickly reaches for a pool noodle.
[Frizzy grunting]
In the pool, Phillipa says, HELP ME.
She splashes in the water.
Frizzy says, GRAB THIS!
She holds the noodle out toward Phillipa.
[Phillipa yelping]
Neville holds Frizzy steady as Frizzy tries to reach Phillipa with the noodle. Pounce and Gemma run up to the other cadets.
Phillipa says, HELP ME.
Gemma says, I'M GOING IN.
She dives into the pool and swims up behind Phillipa.
Gemma says, STAY CALM, PHILLIPA.
She helps Phillipa to the edge of the pool. Neville and Pounce pull Phillipa out of the water.
Pounce says, WE'VE GOT YOU.
Frizzy hands Pounce the pool noodle. She comforts Phillipa.
Frizzy asks, ARE YOU OKAY, PHILLIPA?
Phillipa says, GOLD CRABBY.
She points to the trophy wearing scrab just outside the pool. The cadets look shocked.
[Phillipa giggling]
Frizzy says, THE GOLDEN CRABBY!
YOU FOUND IT, PHILLIPA!
The crab appears from inside the trophy shell.
Frizzy says, AND IT'S ALIVE?!
Bondi and Sandy join the cadets.
Sandy says, WHAT?
OUR TROPHY WENT WALKIES?
[Cadets laughing]
Back at lifeguard headquarters, Sandy says, SO, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT WENT
WRONG TODAY, CADETS?
She sits on a bench with Phillipa and the cadets. The Golden Crabby trophy is on the floor beside them.
Frizzy says, MY HAIR.
Neville says, I ACCIDENTALLY ATE THE GREEN
BIT OF MY WATERMELON.
Sandy says, EHH, YEAH.
ANYONE ELSE?
ANYONE AT ALL?
Gemma says, WE WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION
TO PHILLIPA BECAUSE WE WERE TOO
BUSY LOOKING FOR THE TROPHY.
Sandy says, AND WHAT DID YOU DO RIGHT?
Neville says, WE ALERTED THE LIFEGUARDS
WHEN WE SAW PHILLIPA NEEDED
HELP.
Frizzy says, AND WE HANDED HER SOMETHING
THAT COULD FLOAT BEFORE WE
JUMPED IN THE POOL.
Big Trev and Bondi join the group.
Bondi says, NOW, YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT
IT IS TO PAY ATTENTION AROUND
THE WATER.
AND THE MAIN THING IS
PHILLIPA'S SAFE.
Big Trev adds, AND YOU GOT THE GOLDEN CRABBY
BACK.
He grabs the trophy. The trophy wearing crab pops up from the trophy’s shell and pinches Big Trev’s nose.
[Chomping]
Big Trev jumps back from the trophy.
He says, GREAT GUM NUTS!
He holds his nose. Gemma brings a large shell over to the crab.
She says, COME ON, LITTLE CRAB, TRY
THIS ON FOR A NEW HOME.
The crab climbs into Gemma’s shell. Gemma lowerse the crab to the floor.
The cadets say, AWW.
Gemma says, OH, SHE LOVES IT.
Frizzy says, NOW, THERE'S JUST ONE THING
LEFT TO DO.
Pounce asks, WHAT'S THAT?
Frizzy says, CELEBRATE!
[Cadets cheering]
Neville says, YEAH, ALL RIGHT!
Frizzy says, EVERYONE, DO THE GOLDEN
CRABBY!
The lifeguards and cadets dance like how crabs walk.
[Cheering]
[Upbeat music plays]
