DESCRIPTION: In an animation, Posy, a brown-haired mouse, steps forward.
POSY: Pip!
DESCRIPTION: Pip, a grey-haired rabbit, steps forward.
PIP: Posy!
[Both giggle]
DESCRIPTION: Pip and Posy grab each other’s hands and dance together. Pip wears a long-sleeved white-and-green striped shirt and jeans. Posy wears a blue-and-red T-shirt with a blue-and-white polka-dot skirt. Pip carries Posy on his back. Posy tosses her toy frog, Froggy, high in the air. She catches Froggy as Pip’s toy pig, Piggy, lands in Pip’s hand.
PIP: Oh!
[Both giggle]
POSY: Come on!
BOTH SAY: Let’s play!
[Both giggle]
DESCRIPTION: Pip and Posy run together.
[Title] Pip and Posy.
[Upbeat music plays, cheerful humming, Posy giggles]
DESCRIPTION: In the playground beside the playing spot, Pip stands on a dirt path while Posy and Jamila walk on the grass. Posy puts a squid toy on the grass beside the path. Pip stands near a dinosaur toy and a lion toy.
POSY: Monster racecourse, ready!
PIP: Finish line, ready!
[Wobbling]
DESCRIPTION: Jamila shakes a purple band.
JAMILA: Wibbly leg bands, uh, wibbly!
[Pip giggles]
PIP: Everything's ready for our three-legged monster race!
DESCRIPTION: Posy nods.
POSY: Mm. Oh, except Frankie. Let's have a snack while we wait. I'm a hungry monster!
[Pip gasps, Posy roars, giggling, seagull calls, Pip roars]
DESCRIPTION: On a park bench, a seagull reaches for carrot sticks in an open lunch box.
POSY: Last one to the bench is a stinky snail!
[Pip and Posy laugh, seagull calls, Pip roars, giggle, footsteps rustle, the music stops, carrots crunch]
DESCRIPTION: Pip chases Posy to the park bench. She picks up the lunch box and offers it to Pip and Jamila.
PIP: Where is Frankie? She's never late.
JAMILA: Oh, Frankie's not coming. She's baking all day. Mm, nice carrot.
PIP: What? But we need two teams of two, or the race won't work.
POSY: Uh, maybe we can find someone else to play with. Hm...
DESCRIPTION: Posy looks at the seagull perched on a recycling bin.
POSY: No.
[Frog ribbits, Pip giggles, soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: A frog hops beside the path.
POSY: No again.
[Dirt rustles, Posy giggles]
DESCRIPTION: Mo rides a scooter down the dirt path on a nearby hill.
POSY: Oh, what about Mo?
PIP: Yeah!
PIP SHOUTS: Hey, Mo, want to play?
[Dirt rustles, scooter thuds, strap clicks, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mo stops his scooter in front of Posy, Pip, and Jamila. He lays his scooter on the ground and unbuckles his helmet.
MO: Oh, hi. Uh, okay.
PIP: We're monster racing. You're going to love it.
[Mo giggles]
POSY: You can monster up with me. Come on!
DESCRIPTION: Posy grabs Mo’s arm and pulls him away from the scooter.
[Mo giggles]
MO: Oh!
[Posy giggles]
DESCRIPTION: At the starting line, Jamila and Pip stand with their arms around each other’s backs and a leg band holding her left leg and his right leg together. Posy and Mo stand beside them with a leg band holding her left leg and his right leg together.
MO: Uh, so, uh, what are we…
PIP: Piggy, Froggy, go!
DESCRIPTION: Everyone but Mo steps forward.
MO: Whoa!
[Posy giggles, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Posy stumbles and grabs Mo.
POSY: Wait!
DESCRIPTION: Pip and Jamila stop and look back at Posy and Mo.
PIP: Huh? What happened?
[Posy giggles]
POSY: Mo forgot to start.
[Pip giggles, footsteps rustle]
PIP: But I said, "Piggy, Froggy, go."
POSY: That's how we always start a monster race.
MO: Oh.
[Mo chuckles]
MO: I didn't know.
PIP: Don't worry. Posy does start super-fast.
JAMILA: Oh, you can team up with me. We can be floaty-floaty monsters.
[Light music plays]
MO: Oh, okay.
[Wings flap, seagull squawks]
DESCRIPTION: Nearby, the seagull lands on the park bench beside the open lunch box.
PIP: Ready?
[Wings flap, seagull squawks, everyone giggles]
DESCRIPTION: The seagull startles and takes off. At the starting line, Jamila and Mo have their legs in a band, and Pip and Posy wear the other band connecting their legs.
PIP: Piggy, Froggy, go!
[Upbeat music plays, everyone giggles, grass rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Jamila and Mo walk in the lead across the grass.
MO: This is fun.
PIP AND POSY: Oh.
MO: Are we winning?
[Posy giggles]
JAMILA: Oh, we are.
[Mo giggles, Jamila roars, exclamations, grunts, thumps, Posy giggles, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Jamila roars, and Mo stumbles. Both stagger and fall on their bottoms on the grass.
POSY: Uh-oh, did you have a monster crash?
[Mo pants]
MO: Uh, why did you start roaring?
JAMILA: Because we're monsters. Monsters roar.
MO: Oh, yeah. Of course.
PIP: It's okay. You can pair up with me this time. My roars aren't as loud as Jamila's.
[Jamila roars, she and Pip giggle, light music notes play]
MO: Hm.
[Footsteps rustle, everyone giggles]
DESCRIPTION: The two pairs, Jamila and Posy, and Pip and Mo, walk to the starting line.
PIP: Piggy, Froggy
PIP AND POSY: Go!
[Everyone pants, upbeat music plays, Pip roars quietly, Mo roars quietly, both giggle, Posy roars]
DESCRIPTION: Jamila and Posy pass Pip and Mo.
PIP: They're beating us! It's time for a Pip and Posy, I mean, Pip and Mosy Kangarooster Booster!
MO: A what?
[Both grunt, shout, thump]
DESCRIPTION: Pip jumps, and he and Mo wobble. They back up to the edge of the sandbox and fall in.
POSY: Huh?
[Posy chuckles, the music stops]
POSY: What happened now?
PIP: I don't know. We never fall over when we Kangarooster Booster.
POSY: No. Oh, well. We can try again.
DESCRIPTION: Mo stands, holding the leg band.
POSY: Uh, whatcha doing?
MO: I, uh, don't think I'm very good at monster racing. Sorry.
[He sighs, footsteps rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Mo gives the band to Pip and walks away.
MO: Maybe you should find someone else to play with.
[Soft music plays]
POSY: Don't go, Mo!
[She sighs]
PIP: What do we do now? We can't monster race with the three of us.
[Jamila gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Jamila kneels on the grass as Victoria pokes her head out of a hole.
JAMILA: Victoria, want to monster race with us?
[Squelching]
DESCRIPTION: Victoria looks at Jamila and drops down the hole.
JAMILA: Oh. No, she's busy.
[Posy sighs]
POSY: Shame Mo wasn't very good at monster racing. It's so easy.
[Pip sighs]
JAMILA: Yeah.
DESCRIPTION: Posy removes the band connecting her to Jamila.
MO: Baba-blah-wah-blah!
[Exclamations, seagull squawks, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Nearby, Mo scares the seagull, and it lands on the back of the park bench.
MO: Baba-blah-wah-blah!
[Seagull squawks]
DESCRIPTION: The seagull lands on a tree branch.
PIP: Wow!
POSY: You saved our snacks! Thanks, Mo. Oh, I love that funny noise you made. Gloo-bah-bloo-blah.
JAMILA: No, it was more tuba-loo-blah!
MO: Uh, actually it's baba-blah-wah-blah!
PIP: Oh.
[Everyone giggles]
JAMILA, POSY, AND PIP: Baba-blah-wah-blah!
[Mo laughs, wings flap, upbeat music continues]
DESCRIPTION: The seagull lands on the back of the park bench.
ALL: Oh.
[Mo shushes, others giggle, footsteps rustle, seagull squawks]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone sneaks closer to the bench, and the seagull glances at them.
EVERYONE: Baba-blah-wah-blah!
[Seagull squawks, everyone laughs]
DESCRIPTION: They watch the seagull fly away.
[The music stops]
JAMILA: Thanks for the baba-blah-wah-blah lesson.
POSY: Oh, yeah, soon as you showed us it was easy.
PIP: Oh, we never showed you how we monster race.
POSY: Yeah! Sorry, Mo.
MO: Well, uh, we could have one more go.
[Others gasp]
PIP: Oh.
JAMILA, POSY, PIP: Yeah!
POSY: Yes, I'm monstering up with Mo.
PIP: Hey, I was with Mo.
JAMILA: You should pick me! I'm very good at baba-blah-wah-blahing.
[Light music plays, Posy laughs]
POSY: We can't all team up with Mo.
[Mo chuckles]
MO: Maybe you can.
[Everyone giggles]
DESCRIPTION: At the starting line, the four children stand in a row. A band connects Pip’s left leg to Jamila’s right leg. Her left leg is connected in a band to Mo’s right leg, and his left leg is in a band with Posy’s right leg.
