IN A MAGIC WORLD OF COLOURS,
LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO.
COLOURBLOCKS, COLOURBLOCKS,
WE'RE MIXING IT UP FOR YOU.
Colourful text reads, “Colour Blocks,” with the word “Colour” over the word “Blocks.” Each letter in the word “Colour” is a different colour. C is purple, O is blue, L is green, O is yellow, U is orange, and R is red. White text for the word “Blocks” appears on different coloured blocks for each letter. JUICY STRAWBERRIES!
Red stands behind a fruit stand filled with red strawberries. A red and white-striped awning hangs over the fruit.
Red says, NOBODY'S COMING
TO TRY MY STRAWBERRIES.
MAYBE I NEED A SIGN!
A BIG RED STRAWBERRY SIGN THAT
EVERYONE CAN SEE!
BUT HOW AM I GOING TO MAKE
SOMETHING LIKE THAT?
Cyan says, SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED
HELP FROM...
The Printing Crew, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, sit in their carts.
[Upbeat music plays, motors hum]
Cyan, Magenta and Yellow say, THE PRINTING CREW!
Cyan says, WE'LL PRINT A SIGN FOR YOU, RED.
Magenta says, PRINTING IS WHAT WE DO.
Magenta and Yellow drive their carts forward.
[Clicking, tires squeal, exciting music plays]
Magenta says, MAGENTA AND...
Yellow says, YELLOW.
Yellow and Magenta say, MIX TO MAKE RED!
[Exciting music plays]
Cyan, Magenta and Yellow sing, WHOO, WHOO, WHOO,
WE'RE THE PRINTING CREW.
Cyan says, CYAN!
Magenta says, MAGENTA!
Yellow says, YELLOW!
Black says, through a speaker, BLACK!
Cyan, Magenta and Yellow sing,
MAKING LOTS OF COLOURS FOR YOU.
[Motors hum]
Magenta says, COME ON, YELLOW!
Yellow says, OH!
[Yellow giggles, exciting music plays]
Magenta says, OH, CRACKING!
Soon, a large sign with a picture of a strawberry, red and an arrow pointing at the stand is to Red’s left.
[Upbeat music plays]
Pink says, WOW, NICE SIGN!
Brown says, DELICIOUS. OH-HO!
Red says, THANKS, PRINTING CREW!
Red waves to the Printing Crew as they drive away from the strawberry stand.
[Motors hum]
Later, Blue stands alone by a dark blue blanket spread out on sand. The Printing Crew arrives behind Blue.
[Motors hum, Blue sighs, sand rustles]
Yellow asks, WHAT'S THE MATTER, BLUE?
YOU'RE LOOKING A BIT…BLUE.
Blue says, I'VE INVITED MY FRIENDS TO
A PICNIC ON MY DARK BLUE BLANKET,
BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE ARRIVED.
I DON'T THINK THEY KNOW WHERE
I AM.
[Exciting music plays]
Magenta says, I KNOW, WE CAN PRINT A SIGN!
Blue lifts their arms.
[Whoosh]
Blue says, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA.
Cyan and Magenta drive their carts on a white sign.
[Clicking, tires squeal, exciting music plays]
Cyan says, CYAN AND...
Magenta says, MAGENTA...
Cyan and Magenta say, MIX TO MAKE BLUE!
Cyan, Yellow and Magenta sing,
WHOO, WHOO, WHOO,
WE'RE THE PRINTING CREW,
MAKING LOTS OF COLOURS FOR YOU.
MIXING COLOURS THE PRINTING WAY,
WE'RE ALSO CALLED C.M.Y.K!
[Motors hum, exciting music continues,]
Blue says, HANG ON, C IS FOR CYAN.
M IS FOR MAGENTA. Y IS FOR YELLOW.
BUT WHY DO YOU CALL BLACK "K?"
Yellow says, K STANDS FOR "KEY."
Black holds up a black key.
[Slide whistle]
Yellow says, BLACK IS THE KEY TO DARK
COLOURS. OH, YOU'LL SEE.
Black says, through a speaker, BLACK.
[Motor hums]
Cyan and Magenta create blue.
[Laughing, cheering]
Magenta says, AND A TOUCH OF BLACK...
Black drives over the blue on the sign.
Cyan says, MAKES DARK BLUE!
Blue looks up at a sign with an arrow pointing to their picnic location. The sign shows Blue standing on a dark blue picnic blanket.
Blue says, WOW! A BLUE LIKE ME
ON A DARK BLUE BLANKET.
MY FRIENDS WILL KNOW WHERE
I AM NOW!
Purple, Indigo and Violet bounce to the blanket and sit down.
[Laughing, boings]
Blue says, THANKS, PRINTING CREW!
[Motors hum, gentle music plays]
In a forest, Green stands alone beside a spinning wheel with different shades of green on it. Green looks down at dots arranged inside a white circle on the ground. The dots are different shades of green. The Printing Crew arrives and stop their carts.
[Motors hum, brakes squeak]
Cyan asks, HI YA, GREEN!
HOW ARE YOU DOING?
[Birds chirp]
Green says, NOT GREAT, CYAN.
I'VE COLOURED A HOPPITY-HOP GAME
FOR THE FROGS, USING PALE GREEN,
BRIGHT GREEN, AND DARK GREEN LEAVES.
BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE COME TO PLAY.
Magenta says, HEY, WE CAN MAKE A SIGN.
Cyan says, WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF GREEN!
Yellow says, THEN THE FROGS WILL KNOW
ABOUT YOUR GAME.
Green says, WOW, THANK YOU!
Cyan and Yellow drive out onto a white sign.
[Clicking, tires squeal, motors hum, exciting music plays]
Cyan says, CYAN AND...
Yellow says, YELLOW...
Yellow and Cyan say, MIX TO MAKE GREEN!
Cyan, Magenta and Yellow sing,
WHOO, WHOO, WHOO,
WE'RE THE PRINTING CREW.
MAKING LOTS OF COLOURS
FOR YOU.
Yellow says, WE'LL BOTH USE A LITTLE
LESS COLOUR TO MAKE PALE GREEN.
[Clicking, giggling]
Magenta says, AND BLACK IS THE KEY
TO MIXING DARK GREEN.
Black says, through a speaker, BLACK!
[Tires squeal, giggling, exciting music continues]
Soon, a sign with a picture of Green, the spinning wheel and dots is beside Green’s game. A green arrow points at the spinning wheel.
[Upbeat music plays, birds chirp]
Green says, WOW, SUCH NICE GREENS!
DARK, BRIGHT, AND PALE.
AND THEY'RE ALL DIFFERENT FROM
MY GREEN.
Yellow says, BETWEEN US, WE CAN MIX
LOTS AND LOTS OF DIFFERENT COLOURS.
Frogs hop out from behind bushes.
[Boings, ribbits]
Green says, OH, LOOK!
THE FROGS ARE COMING TO PLAY.
THANK YOU, PRINTING CREW.
[Motors hum, upbeat music plays]
Magenta says, PHEW, WHAT A BUSY
PRINTING DAY.
Red, Green and Blue wait in front of the Printing Factory with their signs.
Red, Green and Blue shout, SURPRISE!
[Gentle music plays]
Magenta asks, WHOA, WHAT'S ALL THIS?
Blue says, FOR BEING SO HELPFUL, WE
DECIDED TO THROW YOU A BIG BLUE
BLANKET PICNIC.
Red says, WITH STRAWBERRIES.
Green says, AND A GAME OF HOPPITY-HOP!
[Boings]
Cyan says, OH, WOW!
Yellow says, AMAZING!
Magenta says, BRILLIANT!
[Cheering]
Cyan says, I LOVE IT!
