DESCRIPTION: In Cynthia’s backyard, Gran Gran walks past a sunflower patch to where Cynthia kneels by three pots. JoJo stops and looks at a broken garden gnome statuette.
GRAN GRAN NARRATES: It was a bright autumn morning. The leaves were changing colour and falling from the trees. And JoJo and Gran Gran, that's me, were helping Cynthia in her garden.
[Taps, grass rustles, the music stops, footsteps rustle]
DESCRIPTION: JoJo taps the base of the statuette. She leans Panda against the statuette and runs to Gran Gran.
JOJO: Hmm. You look after the broken gnome, Panda. These sunflowers are so tall, Gran Gran.
[Gran Gran laughs]
GRAN GRAN: They're almost as tall as me, JoJo.
[JoJo giggles, Cynthia sighs]
CYNTHIA: All my plant pots are full, so we'll use this to collect the seeds.
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia gestures at a small bowl beside some pruning shears on the grass.
CYNTHIA: Okay, here we go.
[Rustle, seeds rattle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia snips the head off a sunflower and kneels. She holds the flower over the bowl and gently brushes the front. JoJo watches seeds fall into the bowl. Cynthia gestures at the bowl, revealing a hole in the palm of her green gardening glove.
CYNTHIA: Now, if we rub the sunflower head really carefully, the seeds will fall out, and we can collect them. Oh, no. My glove has a hole. Oh, do you want to try rubbing the sunflower head, JoJo?
JOJO: Yes, please!
[Rustle, seeds rattle]
DESCRIPTION: JoJo gently brushes seeds into the bowl.

CYNTHIA: You can keep these sunflower seeds.

[Doorbell rings]
GRAN GRAN: Oh! I think I know who that is.
[Door squeaks, opens]

GRAN GRAN: Different people like different things. For you, that's Captain Chloe. But it might be different for Cynthia. What do you think she might like?
JOJO: Hmm. Cynthia loves gardening! Maybe we can find something for her garden.
GRAN GRAN: Of course! Let's go and see what we can find.
[Whoosh, upbeat music plays, Monty barks, gloves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: At a farmers’ market, Ned walks Monty past stalls. At a stall, Gran Gran gestures at gardening gloves hanging on a string. JoJo selects a green pair, and Gran Gran pays for them. JoJo finds a garden gnome statuette and holds Panda beside it.

GRAN GRAN: Brilliant!
[Pots rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran takes three pots off a shelf. Back at home, Gran Gran takes the gifts out of her bag and puts them on newsprint covering her table. JoJo sits beside a paint palette. JoJo paints flowers on one pot, lines and dots on the second pot, and a green spot with yellow and blue lines.
JOJO: We have so many gifts for Cynthia, Gran Gran.
[Triumphant music notes play, rustle]

GRAN GRAN: Hmm. I've got an idea for a Gran Gran plan. We could use my delivery box to put all these gifts for Cynthia inside.
JOJO: That would be very kind.
(Gasps]
JOJO: We could call it a kindness box!
GRAN GRAN: Oh, that's a great idea.
[Upbeat music plays]
JOJO: We could decorate it with some colours Cynthia loves, too.
[Tissue rustles, items clink]

DESCRIPTION: Back in Gran Gran’s house, Gran Gran opens the brown box on her kitchen table. She takes out two wooden spoons, a book, and a small purple box. She puts the brown box in her recycling bin. JoJo enters the kitchen holding a book.
[Happy music plays]
JOJO: Here's my gift for Cynthia.
GRAN GRAN: Oh, that is very kind of you, JoJo. But that's your favourite Captain Chloe book.
[The music stops]
JOJO: Cynthia will love it!
GRAN GRAN: Different people like different things. For you, that's Captain Chloe. But it might be different for Cynthia. What do you think she might like?
JOJO: Hmm. Cynthia loves gardening! Maybe we can find something for her garden.
GRAN GRAN: Of course! Let's go and see what we can find.
[Whoosh, upbeat music plays, Monty barks, gloves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: At a farmers’ market, Ned walks Monty past stalls. At a stall, Gran Gran gestures at gardening gloves hanging on a string. JoJo selects a green pair, and Gran Gran pays for them. JoJo finds a garden gnome statuette and holds Panda beside it.
JOJO: Yes!
GRAN GRAN: Brilliant!
[Pots rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran takes three pots off a shelf. Back at home, Gran Gran takes the gifts out of her bag and puts them on newsprint covering her table. JoJo sits beside a paint palette. JoJo paints flowers on one pot, lines and dots on the second pot, and a green spot with yellow and blue lines.
JOJO: We have so many gifts for Cynthia, Gran Gran.
[Triumphant music notes play, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran glances at the brown box in the recycling bin.
GRAN GRAN: Hmm. I've got an idea for a Gran Gran plan. We could use my delivery box to put all these gifts for Cynthia inside.
JOJO: That would be very kind.
(Gasps]
JOJO: We could call it a kindness box!
GRAN GRAN: Oh, that's a great idea.
[Upbeat music plays]
JOJO: We could decorate it with some colours Cynthia loves, too.
[Tissue rustles, items clink]
DESCRIPTION: JoJo paints blue and yellow stripes on the box and adds white flowers with green centres and red dots. Gran Gran puts pink tissue paper in the box and lays the stacked pots, the gloves, and the gnome statuette on top.
[The music stops]
JOJO: I hope Cynthia likes her kindness box.
GRAN GRAN: Oh, I'm sure she will, JoJo. You've put a lot of thought into it.
JOJO: Hmm. Can I put one more thing inside, Gran Gran?
GRAN GRAN: Of course.
JOJO: I want to add a surprise drawing for Cynthia.
[Whoosh, footsteps patter, dog barks, birds chirp]
DESCRIPTION: In Cynthia’s backyard, JoJo carries the box towards where Cynthia kneels by the sunflower heads.
JOJO: Hello, Cynthia!
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia stands.
CYNTHIA: Hello again. Oh, what's that you've got?
[JoJo giggles]
JOJO: It's for you.
[Cynthia gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia takes the box.
CYNTHIA: Oh, this is beautiful, JoJo. What is it?
JOJO: It's a kindness box. You were kind to me with the sunflower seeds, so I wanted to be kind back.
[Ribbon rustles, Cynthia gasps, paper rustles, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia opens the box. On top of the gifts is a drawing of her, JoJo, and Gran Gran standing together with their hands raised. Cynthia holds a sunflower, and Gran Gran holds Panda.
CYNTHIA: Wow! What a lovely surprise.
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia puts the drawing on the grass.
CYNTHIA: Oh!
[She laughs, gnome clinks]
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia picks up the garden gnome statuette.
CYNTHIA: You got me a new garden gnome! Oh, thank you so much. Oh!
[Birds chirp, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Cynthia puts on the gloves.
GRAN GRAN: JoJo spotted the hole in your old glove, so we thought we'd get you a new pair.
CYNTHIA: Oh! Brilliant! They're just what I need, and perfect for gardening.
JOJO: We got you new plant pots too, so you can plant more sunflower seeds.
CYNTHIA: Oh! I love these designs!
JOJO: Do you like your kindness box, Cynthia?
DESCRIPTION: JoJo runs to Cynthia, and they hug.
CYNTHIA: I love it! And these are all my favourite colours on the box. Oh, well, thank you, JoJo! Thank you, Gran Gran.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: In live-action, the boy with short blond hair who wears the blue shirt picks up a pink bow with flowers and rhinestones glued to the sides and top. He shapes a blue clay flower and a green stem.
SHORT-HAIRED BOY NARRATES: I've made a kindness box for my Grandma Lala. I'm going to put things she really loves inside it. Lala loves flowers, so I'm making her favourite flower out of clay. Excellent!
WOMAN: Wow, that looks amazing.
[Map rustles, jar rattles]
DESCRIPTION: The short-haired boy puts a map on the table and puts a sticker on Australia.
SHORT-HAIRED BOY NARRATES: Lala loves travelling, so I'm putting stickers on the map to show where she has been.
SHORT-HAIRED BOY: Australia, of course.
WOMAN: Yeah.
DESCRIPTION: He puts a sticker on Sri Lanka. Another dot is in southeastern Canada, and four dots are in Europe.
SHORT-HAIRED BOY NARRATES: And Sri Lanka.
DESCRIPTION: A red-haired woman watches the boy draw plane tickets.
SHORT-HAIRED BOY NARRATES: I'm making some plane tickets, too. I love flying on planes, just like Lala.
WOMAN: She's gonna love it, Lucas.
[Tissue rattles, paper rustles]
DESCRIPTION: The short-haired boy, Lucas, opens the pink box, revealing dark purple tissue paper. He puts the rolled-up map, his tickets, and the clay flower.
LUCAS: Now we're gonna put all this stuff in. The map. My plane tickets. The flower.
DESCRIPTION: Lucas picks up a photograph of a smiling woman and a man hugging.
LUCAS NARRATES: Next, I'm gonna put in a picture of my granddad, Poppy. Lala really loved Poppy. So this picture will help her to remember him.
[Knock, soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Lala knocks on the frosted glass panel in the door and enters the house.
LUCAS: Lala's here!
LALA: Hiya. It's only me.
DESCRIPTION: Lala sits on a couch with Lucas and the red-haired woman.
LUCAS: Hello, Lala.
LALA: How are you?
LUCAS: Me and Mommy have done something really nice for you.
LALA: Really?
[Gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Lucas gives Lala the box.
LALA: Oh, my goodness, me. That is amazing. Can I open it?
LUCAS: Yeah.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Lala takes the lid off the box.
LALA: Oh, wow.
[Gasps, map rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Lala unrolls the map.
LUCAS: So, this is like a thing about all the countries you've been to.
LALA: And you've remembered these?
LUCAS: Yeah. Australia.
LALA: Wow. That's fantastic. I love that. So, what's this? Oh, this looks like a flower to me.
[Lala gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Lala picks up the clay flower.
LUCAS: It's a bluebell, because you love bluebells, because Poppy used to love them.
LALA: He did, didn't he?
LUCAS: And have another look inside.
LALA: Oh.
[Photo rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Lala picks up the photo.
LALA: Poppy.
LUCAS: When you were in Spain.
DESCRIPTION: The red-haired woman reaches over and touches Lala’s arm.
LALA: Thank you so much. That is just amazing. Amazing.
LUCAS: I love you, Lala.
LALA: I love you, too. I love you more.
DESCRIPTION: Lucas and Lala hug.
LUCAS NARRATES: I loved making a kindness box for Lala.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Back in Gran Gran’s living room, Gran Gran sits on the couch with Jojo.
JOJO: I liked making Cynthia's kindness box.
GRAN GRAN: Oh, so did I.
[Light music plays]
JOJO: It made her smile. And it made me feel good too.
GRAN GRAN: Oh! That's one of the best things about being kind. It feels good to make other people feel happy. So, I got you a little gift of my own.
JOJO: Thank you!
[Box rustles, JoJo gasps]
DESCRIPTION: JoJo opens the small purple box and finds two sunflower clips.
JOJO: Sun clips for my hair!
[Gran Gran chuckles]
JOJO: They're little sunflowers. I love them!
[Gran Gran laughs, gentle music plays]
JOJO: Thank you. I love you, Gran Gran.
DESCRIPTION: JoJo and Gran Gran hug and snuggle.
GRAN GRAN: Oh, I love you too, JoJo.
[Gentle, uplifting music plays]
