DESCRIPTION: In an animated world, a door opens, revealing JoJo’s mummy, a woman with tightly braided black hair, and her daddy, a man with short black hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and glasses. JoJo’s parents smile.

SONG: Take my hand and come with me.

DESCRIPTION: Jojo runs outside with Panda and takes Gran Gran’s hand.

SONG: On a journey through our streets.

DESCRIPTION: Jojo and Gran Gran walk down a city sidewalk. They wave to Ned, a bearded man walking with Monty, his small dog.

SONG: We'll say hello to everybody that we meet.

DESCRIPTION: Ned waves before Monty pulls him away. On a rainy day, Jojo and Gran Gran wear raincoats and carry umbrellas.

SONG: Through the year, as seasons change, exploring every day, we take our time to stop and play.

DESCRIPTION: Jojo and Gran Gran jump in puddles. On a sunny day, they walk into a park. A red double-decker bus passes by the park.

SONG: And when the springtime blossom turns to summer sun, Jojo likes to get outside, Gran Gran always makes it fun!

DESCRIPTION: On another day, Jojo and Gran Gran roll down a grassy hill. In the fall, Jojo throws leaves in the air.

SONG: When the autumn rainfall turns to winter snow, I know a special place, a place where we can go.

DESCRIPTION: In the winter, Jarrod, a black-haired man with a neatly trimmed beard, makes a snowman. He waves as Jojo and Gran Gran walk by in their winter coats. In the Spring, Gran Gran’s grey-haired neighbour, Cynthia, waters the flowers in her front garden. Jojo and Gran Gran wave on their way to Gran Gran’s house.

SONG: Take my hand, we're heading home with Jojo and Gran Gran.

DESCRIPTION: JoJo and Gran Gran walk to Gran Gran’s front door.

[Gentle music plays, birds chirp, footsteps rustle]

DESCRIPTION: In the park, a woman and an orange-haired boy watch ducks swim in the pond. Gran Gran, JoJo, and Lexi walk to a bridge over the pond and stop.

GRAN GRAN NARRATES: It was an autumn afternoon. The leaves were changing colour and falling from the trees. And JoJo and Gran Gran, that's me, had just picked up Cousin Lexi from school.

[The music stops]

LEXI: Thank you for picking me up, Gran Gran.

GRAN GRAN: Oh, you're welcome, Lexi. It's a real treat for us.

JOJO: Who usually picks you up after school?

LEXI: Daddy! But he got held up at work today. Which means... we get to play together at Gran Gran's!

[Footsteps patter, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Lexi and JoJo run over the bridge, and Gran Gran follows.

CHILDREN CHEER: Yay!

[Everyone laughs]

GRAN GRAN: And when we get home, I'd like to hear all about your day.

JOJO: Yes! We want to know everything about school! Don't we, Panda?

[Whoosh, cheerful music plays]

DESCRIPTION: In live-action, in a blue room, a girl with long, tightly braided brown hair sits beside a girl with braided black hair and two pigtails. The first girl wears a dark blue shirt, and the second girl wears a pink shirt with a horse pattern.

GIRL WITH BRAIDS: I love school because I get to play with my friends, and I get to study more, so I can be more smart.

BLONDE-HAIRED GIRL: When I arrive at school, I have to hang my coat up.

BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: We do art at school.

BROWN-HAIRED BOY: I love school because we get to learn about maths, and math is my favourite subject.

GIRL WITH A BUN: Some people learn at home, and it's called homeschooling.

SHORT-HAIRED BOY: At lunch time, we eat in the lunch hall.

GIRL WITH A BUN: Some people at my school have packed lunches, but I have a hot dinner.

DESCRIPTION: In their kitchen, the brown-haired girl and the girl with the ponytail on the side smile at each other.

BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: We sit together at lunch sometimes.

[Both girls giggle]

DESCRIPTION: In the dining room, the short-haired boy and the girl with pigtails sit together.

SHORT-HAIRED BOY: In playtime, we play outside.

DESCRIPTION: In a kitchen, a girl wears her long brown hair pulled away from her face. She wears a dark blue sweater over a pink shirt. A boy with short black hair stands beside her, wearing an orange jacket and a grey-and-green shirt.

BLACK-HAIRED BOY: In our playground, we have some monkey bars, and we have some footballs, to play football.

DESCRIPTION: In her living room, the girl with long blonde hair wears the fruit-patterned shirt.

BLONDE-HAIRED GIRL: At the end of school, Mister shouts get your coats and bags. That's how we know it's home time.

[JoJo and Lexi laugh, bags rustle]

DESCRIPTION: Back in Gran Gran’s house, JoJo and Lexi carry their bags into the living room and put them down.

LEXI: What shall we play, JoJo?

JOJO: Hm...

[She gasps]

JOJO: We could play...Super Panda!

[Heroic music plays]

DESCRIPTION: JoJo holds Panda in front of her and runs around the room.

JOJO: Whoosh! Wheee!

LEXI: Or...Panda and the Super Slide!

[Paper rustles, both laugh, Panda thumps]

DESCRIPTION: Lexi puts her bag on the couch, and she and JoJo slide Panda down the front. A paper with pictures of analogue clocks displaying different times slips out of the bag and falls to the ground with Panda.

JOJO: Whoa, what's this, Lexi?

LEXI: Ooh, that's what we're learning at school. It helps you tell the time.

DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran arrives behind Lexi.

GRAN GRAN: I remember learning how to tell the time when I was at school.

[Paper rustles]

DESCRIPTION: Lexi picks up the paper.

LEXI: It's quite tricky, but my teacher helps me.

JOJO: What else do you do at school?

LEXI: Lots!

JOJO: Can we go and see?

[Paper rustles, triumphant music plays]

GRAN GRAN: Hm... I think Lexi's teacher will have gone home by now. But... I think it's time for a Gran Gran plan. We can play schools instead!

CHILDREN CHEER: Yay!

[Upbeat music plays, table thumps, papers tap]

DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran, Lexi, and JoJo move a table into the centre of the room. They put paper and crayons on the table and three cushions on the carpet around it. On a piece of paper, JoJo draws a picture of herself beside her name. They affix the paper to a cabinet drawer beside Lexi’s drawing, above Gran Gran’s picture and name and a picture of Panda on the drawer below.

JOJO: JoJo!

LEXI: Lexi!

GRAN GRAN: Gran Gran!

JOJO: Panda!

DESCRIPTION: Hugo the red toy T. rex’s picture appears on the bottom drawer, beside a drawing of Captain Chloe.

LEXI: Hugo!

GRAN GRAN: Captain Chloe!

[Upbeat music continues, board clatters, paper rustles, JoJo squees]

DESCRIPTION: On the carpet, stuffed animals sit on pillows and pots around overturned boxes. Gran Gran puts a toy whiteboard near the table. Drawings of Captain Chloe hang from a shelf edge on the cabinet.

JOJO AND LEXI: Yay!

[The music stops, marker squeaks, Lexi clears her throat]

DESCRIPTION: Lexi writes her name on the whiteboard. Gran Gran and JoJo sit on cushions by the table.

LEXI: Hello, class, my name is Lexi.

JOJO: Hello, Lexi.

[Gran Gran laughs]

GRAN GRAN: Hi, Lexi!

[Light music plays]

LEXI: I am your teacher. Today we're going to learn all about school.

JOJO: Yes!

GRAN GRAN: Ooh! Can't wait!

LEXI: If you would like to ask a question, please put your hand up. Like this.

DESCRIPTION: Lexi holds up her hand. JoJo lifts Panda’s paw.

LEXI: Yes, Panda?

DESCRIPTION: JoJo kneels beside Panda, leans down, and nods.

JOJO: Panda would like to know what you do at school.

LEXI: Ooh! Good question, Panda. We do lots of things at school.

[Upbeat music plays, paper rustles]

DESCRIPTION: On a piece of paper, JoJo traces her name on dotted lines.

LEXI: Learning to write.

DESCRIPTION: JoJo and Lexi lift the paper.

BOTH CHEER: Yay!

LEXI: Science.

[Whistle blares, JoJo giggles, Hugo squeaks]

DESCRIPTION: In the backyard, JoJo and Lexi each stand at the top of a sloped board propped up on overturned pots. JoJo stands behind the steeper board, holding Panda. Lexi holds Hugo beside the other slope. Gran Gran stands behind them and blows a whistle. Panda and Hugo each ride a roller skate down their slope, and Panda crosses a skipping rope finish line first.

JOJO: Yes! Panda got there first!

DESCRIPTION: In the living room, Gran holds a Captain Chloe book, with JoJo and Lexi on the couch beside her.

LEXI: Reading!

[Cutlery clinks]

DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran takes a knife off a tray, JoJo picks up a spoon, and Lexi takes a fork.

LEXI: Counting.

[JoJo giggles]

DESCRIPTION: Each puts their cutlery on the table.

JOJO: One, two, three!

LEXI: Drawing.

DESCRIPTION: At the table, Lexi, JoJo, and Gran Gran draw self-portraits.

JOJO: We need to draw Panda!

DESCRIPTION: JoJo draws Panda.

LEXI: And Hugo!

[Paper rustles, Hugo squeaks]

DESCRIPTION: Lexi draws Hugo. They each hold their Panda and Hugo drawings next to their toys. Panda slumps, and Hugo falls forward onto the table.

LEXI: And we do music too.

[Ukelele and maraca music plays, whoosh, the music stops]

DESCRIPTION: In the backyard, Gran Gran holds a ukulele, and JoJo and Lexi hold maracas. Toys are set up on the grass with a tambourine, xylophone, bells, and a triangle. Back in the living room, JoJo, Lexi, and Gran Gran sit around the table.

GRAN GRAN: Oh, Lexi! That was even more fun than when I was at school.

LEXI: Would you like to be the teacher now, JoJo?

JOJO: But I don't know what to teach. I haven't been to school, like you and Gran Gran.

[Light music plays]

GRAN GRAN: Oh, well, we can learn from anyone, JoJo. And I think there's someone you can teach us a lot about.

[JoJo gasps]

DESCRIPTION: JoJo looks at her Panda drawing.

JOJO: Panda!

[Whoosh, light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: JoJo holds Panda and stands beside the whiteboard with her name on it.

[The music stops, light music notes play]

JOJO: Hello, class, my name is JoJo, and I am your teacher. Today, we're going to learn all about my friend, Panda!

LEXI AND GRAN GRAN CHEER: Yay!

LEXI: Whoo!

GRAN GRAN: Whoo-whoo!

JOJO: If you would like to ask a question, please put your hand up, like this.

DESCRIPTION: JoJo raises her hand, and then Lexi raises hers.

LEXI: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!

JOJO: Yes, Lexi?

LEXI: How old is Panda?

JOJO: Panda is almost as old as me, because I've had Panda since I was a baby.

DESCRIPTION: Lexi raises her hand.

LEXI: Ooh!

JOJO: Yes, Lexi?

LEXI: What is Panda's favourite colour?

JOJO: Purple!

DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran raises her hand.

GRAN GRAN: Ah!

[JoJo chuckles]

JOJO: Do you have a question, Gran Gran?

GRAN GRAN: I would love to know what Panda's favourite food is.

JOJO: Hm...

[Light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: JoJo puts her ear beside Panda’s mouth.

JOJO: Panda's favourite food is... Macaroni pie!

GRAN GRAN: Oh-ho!

[The music stops]

JOJO: The way Gran Gran makes it.

GRAN GRAN: Aw...

DESCRIPTION: JoJo puts Panda on the table and picks up Hugo and her Captain Chloe book.

JOJO: And Panda also likes Captain Chloe books and playing with Hugo, the dinosaur.

[Doorbell rings]

GRAN GRAN: Oh! That must be Uncle Tyrell!

[Hugo squeaks]

DESCRIPTION: JoJo puts Hugo and the book on the table.

LEXI: And that means it's home time!

[Light music plays]

JOJO: Thank you for coming to school, everybody.

[JoJo giggles]

LEXI: And thank you to our new teacher...JoJo!

DESCRIPTION: Lexi hugs JoJo, and Gran Gran claps.

GRAN GRAN CHEERS: Yay!

[Whoosh, upbeat music plays, background chatter]

DESCRIPTION: A brown-haired girl holds her mommy’s hand as they walk on a sidewalk. The girl has her hair in a ponytail, wears a dark blue coat, and holds a bag. Her mommy has long brown hair and wears a striped jacket, a white shirt, and brown pants.

GIRL WITH PONYTAIL: My mommy is taking me to school.

GIRL’S MOMMY: Wow...Okay, enjoy your day!

[Smooch]

BOTH: Bye...!

DESCRIPTION: The girl’s mommy kisses her cheek, and the girl waves. She skips to the school doors. In a playground, a boy and a girl run to her. The blonde-haired girl holds her hand, and the blond-haired boy walks beside them with his hands in his jacket pockets.

GIRL WITH PONYTAIL: Hello, Harvey.

[Children chatter]

DESCRIPTION: In the classroom cloakroom, the girl with the ponytail hangs her coat on a hook below her name, Isabelle. She puts her water bottle on a tray filled with water bottles.

ISABELLE NARRATES: I get to see my friends at school. This is where we put our coats. I'm hanging my coat on my peg. I'm putting my water bottle in the tray.

DESCRIPTION: In the classroom, Miss Bradley, a woman with long, wavy brown hair, scrolls on a laptop computer at her desk. She wears a black shirt and a black skirt. The class sits on a carpet in front of her and a screen.

ISABELLE NARRATES: Miss Bradley is my class teacher. She's taken the register to check who's here today.

MISS BRADLEY: Good morning, Harvey.

HARVEY: Good morning.

MISS BRADLEY: Good morning, Isabelle.

ISABELLE: Good morning.

DESCRIPTION: At a long table, Isabelle puts red plastic chips on a card.

ISABELLE NARRATES: This morning, we're learning about numbers.

DESCRIPTION: On the screen, a blond-haired boy with shaved sides moves dots between two grids. An equation above the grids reads, “eight plus seven equals.” In a cafeteria, a worker ladles gravy over potatoes.

ISABELLE NARRATES: It's lunchtime!

DESCRIPTION: A worker gives Isabelle a tray with fish fingers and fries. Isabelle smiles.

ISABELLE NARRATES: I'm having fish fingers. Mm, yummy.

[Students chatter, laugh]

DESCRIPTION: The students sit at tables and eat their lunches. In the playground, the blonde-haired girl turns a hula hoop and skips. A tall girl chases Isabelle past a play structure.

ISABELLE NARRATES: After lunch, we have playtime outside. I love playing with my friends.

[Whistle blares]

DESCRIPTION: A teacher blows a whistle, and children run across the playground. In the school library, Isabelle sits in front of a bookshelf with three students. Miss Bradley shows them words and letter combinations on cards.

ISABELLE NARRATES: The whistle means playtime is over. Now it's time to learn sounds.

ALL: "Ow, brown cow." "Aw, yawn at dawn."

[Children chatter, upbeat music continues]

DESCRIPTION: In the classroom, a boy with short brown hair looks at a vase with flowers and fills in the missing half of a drawing of half a sunflower. Isabelle draws petals on the partial sunflower picture.

ISABELLE NARRATES: I love drawing, and today we're drawing some flowers.

ISABELLE NARRATES: And painting them.

DESCRIPTION: The brown-haired boy carefully paints the petals yellow. Isabelle sits beside Harvey and paints her petals yellow. A student peers at a grid through a magnifying glass; Isabelle builds a magnetic tile tower with a short-haired boy; Harvey reads a book beside a teacher; and Isabelle holds the end of a toy stethoscope against a boy’s chest.

ISABELLE NARRATES: We get to do lots of different things at school. Building, reading, and playing.

DESCRIPTION: A girl with a ponytail and the boy with the shaved blond hair look at a globe beside a book open to a world map.

BOY WITH SHAVED BLOND HAIR: South America!

DESCRIPTION: In the nearly empty cloakroom, Isabelle takes her coat off the hook and puts it on.

ISABELLE NARRATES: After a busy day, it's home time.

DESCRIPTION: Isabelle and Miss Bradley wave to each other as Isabelle leaves the school.

MISS BRADLEY: Bye, Isabelle!

ISABELLE: Bye, Miss Bradley!

MISS BRADLEY: See ya later!

DESCRIPTION: Isabelle runs to her daddy, who has long blond hair and wears a green jacket. He bends down and hugs her.

ISABELLE: Daddy...! Daddy's here. I love going to school.

[Whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Back in Gran Gran’s living room, Gran Gran sits on the couch with Jojo.

JOJO: Does everybody go to school, Gran Gran?

GRAN GRAN: Oh, not everybody. Some children are taught at home.

[Light music plays]

JOJO: You would be the best teacher, Gran Gran! Because you know everything!

[Gran Gran chuckles]

GRAN GRAN: Well, I didn't know Panda's favourite food was macaroni pie.

JOJO: But you do now!

[Gran Gran laughs]

GRAN GRAN: You see? We can learn from everyone.

JOJO: I love you, Gran Gran.

DESCRIPTION: JoJo and Gran Gran hug.

GRAN GRAN: And I love you too, JoJo.
