Title: "Run the Marbles."
Children shout, LET'S RUN THE MARBLES!
[Upbeat music plays]
In a studio, Koralee and a girl with blonde pigtails create a zig-zag pattern with craft sticks. The girl wears a pink shirt, and Koralee, an adult with tightly braided dark brown hair, wears a green T-shirt and blue jeans.
A narrator says, HI, BROOKLYN! HI, KORALEE!
Koralee and the blonde-haired girl, Brooklyn, say, HI.
The narrator says, THAT'S A FUN PATTERN.
Brooklyn says, IT'S A ZIG ZAG.
The narrator says, ZIG ZAG? HM, WHAT KIND OF MARBLE RUN ARE WE MAKING TODAY?
Brooklyn says, A ZIG ZAG MARBLE RUN!
[Zapping, dinging, energetic music plays]
Brooklyn holds a marble over the craft sticks and follows the pattern. With her finger, she draws a zigzag pattern in the air.
The narrator says, AMAZING! SO, MARBLES CAN START AT THE TOP OF THE ZIG ZAG. THEY ZIG AND ZAG, BACK AND FORTH, DOWN THE ZIG ZAG UNTIL THEY GET TO THE END.
Koralee says, YES.
The narrator says, OKAY. WHAT DO WE HAVE?
Koralee says WE HAVE A BOARD!
Brooklyn says, A BIG BOARD!
Brooklyn carries a board as tall as her shoulders. Koralee holds two craft sticks, each with two small blocks attached to the side.
Koralee says, WE CAN USE THESE TRACK PIECES I MADE EARLIER WITH THESE CRAFT STICKS AND LITTLE BLOCKS.
The narrator says, LOOKS LIKE EACH PIECE OF TRACK HAS TWO BLOCKS GLUED TO IT. LET'S TEST THEM OUT.
[Scraping]
Koralee holds the two track pieces against the board, and Brooklyn drops a marble. The marble rolls down the first track piece and falls to the floor.
The narrator says, HM, THAT DIDN'T WORK.
[Rumbling, thunking]
Koralee holds the pieces closer together, and the marble falls from the first track to the second track.
The narrator says, BRILLIANT! MOVING THE PIECES SLIGHTLY REALLY HELPED.
[Boinging]
Brooklyn jumps excitedly.
Brooklyn says, THESE PIECES WORK PERFECTLY.
The narrator says, MUCH BETTER.
Koralee says, LET'S GET BUILDING!
[Clattering]
Marbles fall in a pile and cover the screen.
[Upbeat music plays, whooshing]
In the studio, Koralee moves the line of craft sticks from the top of the table, and Brooklyn lays the board flat. Koralee and Brooklyn glue sloping track pieces to the board.
The narrator says YOU EVEN HAVE ROOM FOR TWO ZIG ZAGS, ONE ON EACH SIDE.
They glue wooden pegs to the board.
The narrator says, AND YOU'RE ADDING PEGS FOR MORE MARBLE FUN!
[Slide whistle, scissors snipping]
Koralee cuts open the side of a small paper cup.
The narrator says, PAPER CUPS?
Brooklyn opens the side of the cup and presses the pieces flat against the glue spots at the bottom of the board.
The narrator says, AHH, FOR CATCHING THE MARBLES.
[Brooklyn giggling, energetic music plays]
Brooklyn bounces excitedly. She and Koralee lift the board and stand it upright. The top has sloped tracks leading to a small green teeter-totter in the middle. The green teeter-totter has a screw in the middle and a peg beneath each side. Below the teeter-totter are scattered pegs. Six cups cover the bottom of the board. Two green-blue lines show the zig-zag pattern made by the sloping tracks.
The narrator says, LOOK AT THAT. TWO ZIG ZAG RUNS. A GREEN TEETER TOTTER, SOME PEGS FOR MORE FUN, AND SOME CUPS TO CATCH THE MARBLES!
[Hands slapping]
Brooklyn and Koralee high-five.
They say, LET'S RUN THE MARBLES!
[Marbles clattering, energetic music plays]
Brooklyn takes some marbles out of a glass bowl. She and Koralee each drop a marble down one of the zig-zag runs.
The narrator says, GREAT MARBLE RUN! WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO?
Brooklyn says, I HAVE AN IDEA. LET'S SEE WHICH CUP GETS THE MOST MARBLES.
[Clattering]
Marbles roll across the screen.
[Marbles clattering]
In the studio, Koralee and Brooklyn drop marbles down the marble run.
The narrator says, WHICH WAY WILL THE MARBLES GO, AND WHICH CUP WILL CATCH THE MOST MARBLES? WHEN THE MARBLES GO BACK AND FORTH AND BACK AND FORTH, THE PATTERN IS CALLED A ZIG ZAG.
The cup closest to Brooklyn overflows with marbles.
Brooklyn says, THIS ONE HAS THE MOST MARBLES. WE WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!
Brooklyn jumps excitedly.
[Clattering]
Marbles fall in a pile and cover the screen.
[Energetic music plays, marbles clattering, both laughing, chiming]
In the studio, Koralee and Brooklyn drop marbles into the marble run. Brooklyn spins, and the cups at the bottom of the board fill.
[Children cheering]
