[All cheering]

[Doodle laughing]

[Groans softly]

[Rustling]

DESCRIPTION: Doodle turns around and looks at where the rustling noise came from. The pine cone falls on the ground.

ODO: Oh, Doodle! All you had to do was catch it on your hip.

DOODLE: I just have a funny feeling. Like somebody is watching us.

BOTH: Huh?

DESCRIPTION: Odo and Doodle approach the bush behind them. As they look closer, an eye appears! Odo and Doodle jump back and hold each other.

BOTH: A bush monster!

[Odo & Doodle screaming]

DOODLE & ODO: A bush monster! A bush monster!

DESCRIPTION: Odo and Doodle run around in circles. Suddenly, John John pops out of the bush and runs around with them. They knock heads, and all fall to the ground.

BOTH: Huh?

ODO: Oh, wait, it's John John.

JOHN JOHN: Oh, wait, it's me!

DOODLE: John John, it's Friendship Day. You're supposed to be playing with a friend.

JOHN JOHN: Oh, I was just playing with my friend… My friend bush, Brian the Bush. Hello, Brian!

ODO: John John, did you not have any friends to play with? And is that why you were watching us play?

JOHN JOHN: No! No, no, no. Yes.

DOODLE: Play with us. We're playing Pine Cone Pop-up.

JOHN JOHN: Pine Cone Pop-up! Yeah, whoa! Oh, yes!

DESCRIPTION: John John, Doodle, and Odo kick the pine cone up in the air. Each time, John John fumbles the pinecone.

[Repetitive grunts]

JOHN JOHN: Oh.

[Repetitive grunts]

BOTH: Oh.

JOHN JOHN: I'm okay. Squawk!

DOODLE: John John, have you played Pine Cone Pop-up before?

JOHN JOHN: Once. But I didn't like it.

ODO: Why did you say you wanted to play Pine Cone Pop-up if you don't like it?

JOHN JOHN: Well, I thought to make friends, you have to say you like what other people like.

ODO: To make friends, you just have to be yourself.

JOHN JOHN: Be myself? Be myself? What's that?

DOODLE: It's knowing what you like to do.

ODO: Mm-hm.

DOODLE: And sharing that with others.

JOHN JOHN: Um… Um… Ah! I know! I like to do… whatever you like to do!

ODO: Oh! No! John John, you missed the point.

DOODLE: If you want to make friends, you have to be yourself.

JOHN JOHN: Be myself? Oh. Um...

[Sighs]

JOHN JOHN: Maybe I'll never learn to make friends. I'll just go play somewhere… maybe with another bush or something.

DOODLE: Oh...

ODO: Doodle, being friends with you makes me so happy. I just want John John to feel happy too.

DOODLE: Mm-hm.

DESCRIPTION: Later that day, John John is playing hopscotch by himself. He hops through the course, then runs around a bush, and does it again.

[Grunts]

JOHN JOHN: Your turn, John John. Why, thank you. Hup, hup!

[Rustling]

JOHN JOHN: Huh?

DESCRIPTION: John John looks over to a nearby bush. Doodle and Odo are hiding in it.

JOHN JOHN: Aah, another bush monster! With four eyes!

[Screams]

DESCRIPTION: Doodle and Odo walk out from behind the bush.

JOHN JOHN: Oh. It's just Odo and Doodle. Odo and Doodle. What are you doing here?

ODO: John John, when nobody else is around, what do you really like to do?

JOHN JOHN: Well… I like to pretend to be other birds.

ODO: Really? Great! Can you pretend to be me?

JOHN JOHN [IN ODO'S VOICE]: I know I can!

[Giggles]

DOODLE: John John, that's amazing. Can you do me?

JOHN JOHN [IN DOODLE'S VOICE]: My stick is very interesting because it has 12 nobbles on it.

[Both exclaim]

ODO & DOODLE [GIGGLE]: Wow!

[Bud & Louie laughing]

ODO: Oh, here come Bud and Louie. Let's surprise them.

DESCRIPTION: Odo, Doodle, and John John hide behind a bush, and Bud and Louie walk past.

LOUIE: And that's why it's called a Juggle Bug!

[Both laughing]

BUD: Juggle Bug!

[Laughter continues]

BUD: Hey, Louie, what do you call a bird with bananas in its ears?

DESCRIPTION: John John pops out of the bush and imitates Bud.

JOHN JOHN [IN BUD'S VOICE]: Call it anything you want, it can't hear you!

[Laughing]

[Odo & Doodle giggling]

LOUIE: I was going to say "Steve," but your answer's much funnier. How'd you do that?

JOHN JOHN [IN REGULAR VOICE]: Like this.

JOHN JOHN [IN LOUIE'S VOICE]: What do you call two toucans who meet another toucan?

JOHN JOHN [IN BUD'S VOICE]: I don't know, Louie.

JOHN JOHN [IN LOUIE'S VOICE]: A "three-can."

DESCRIPTION: A crowd of birds slowly gathers and watches John John.

[All laughing]

THELMA: Can you pretend to be me?

MARTIN: And me?

JOHN JOHN [IN THELMA'S VOICE]: I just don't know.

JOHN JOHN [IN MARTIN'S VOICE]: But I could give it a try.

[All laughing]

LEONARDO: That was great! Very impressive, little bird. But you could never do my voice!

JOHN JOHN [IN LEONARDO'S VOICE]: Of course not. How could I pretend to be as wonderful as you?

[Gasps, laughing]

[All laughing]

ODO: Do more, John John!

JOHN JOHN [IN REGULAR VOICE]: Oh, um… How about if I tell you a story about Forest Camp?

[All exclaim]

JOHN JOHN: Once upon a time, there were two swans.

JOHN JOHN [IN ANNA'S VOICE]: One was called Anna...

JOHN JOHN [IN RUDI'S VOICE]: and the other was called Englebert.

RUDI: Huh?

[Chuckles]

JOHN JOHN [IN REGULAR VOICE]: Just kidding. His name was Rudi.

[All laughing]

JOHN JOHN: One day, Anna and Rudi were dancing…

DESCRIPTION: After sunset, the birds are still gathered listening to John John.

JOHN JOHN: Then Jo was shouting:

JOHN JOHN [IN JO'S VOICE]: "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!"

[Clucking]

[All laughing]

JOHN JOHN: It's funny because it's true.

JOHN JOHN [IN REGULAR VOICE]: Odo said:

JOHN JOHN [IN ODO'S VOICE]: "Even if the sky is falling, we'll just put it back up where it belongs." I know we can!

DESCRIPTION: John John bows.

JOHN JOHN [IN REGULAR VOICE]: The end! Squawk!

DESCRIPTION: The birds cheer for John John, throw him into the air and carry him away.

[All cheering]

[All laughing, chattering]

DESCRIPTION: John John walks back to Doodle and Odo.

JOHN JOHN: I was shy about showing everyone what I do. But I guess I'm a parrot, and parrots copy voices. That's who I am! Thanks, Odo and Doodle.

DESCRIPTION: Odo, Doodle, and John John hug.

[All laugh]

ODO: You're welcome. Now go play with your friends. Just make sure when you're done that you come back and play with us too!

JOHN JOHN: I will, I will! Squawk!

[Giggles]

DESCRIPTION: Doodle and Odo continue to pass around their pine cone.

ODO: Hup, hup, one, two! Back to you!

DOODLE: Do your flip… And catch it on the hip!

BOTH: The Odo and Doodle Supreme! Yeah!
