DESCRIPTION: At Forest Camp, Odo is building a treehouse.

[Wind whistling]

ODO: Maybe if we put a wall here…

DESCRIPTION: Doodle shouts up at Odo from the ground. Doodle is holding two leaves.

DOODLE: Odo! Look how these two leaves fit together! They'll be perfect for the roof of our treehouse! I'll get more.

DESCRIPTION: A gust of wind blows away one of the leaves. Doodle chases after it. All around her, pinecones fall from the air.

DOODLE: Hmm.

[Thumps]

[Wind howling]

DESCRIPTION: Doodle grips her leaves tightly and runs away.

[Doodle gasps and cries out]

ODO: Doodle?

DESCRIPTION: Doodle runs through a group of chickens and trips on a pinecone.

[Chickens squawking]

[Doodle panting]

THE FIRST CHICKEN: Hey! Watch where you're going, Doodle!

THE SECOND CHICKEN: Yeah, you ruined our game! Right when I was winning!

THE FIRST CHICKEN: You were not winning! Why are you in such a hurry anyhow?

DOODLE: Well, I heard this noise in the woods.

[All gasp]

THE THIRD CHICKEN: What kind of noise? Was it loud? Was it scary? Did it sound like something big? Like...

[Screeches loudly]

DOODLE: Oh, um, maybe. I don't know. I got kind of scared.

[Gasps]

THE SECOND CHICKEN: It was loud and scary! It must have been something big!

DESCRIPTION: The chickens all run around and bump into each other.

[Chickens screaming, squawking]

DESCRIPTION: A small, brown bird is painting a portrait of two flamingos. The flamingos are balancing a plate of apples on their necks. The three chickens run through them, crashing into the flamingos, throwing paint everywhere, and knocking over the apples.

THE FIRST CHICKEN: Be careful, everyone! Doodle says there's something big and loud and scary in the woods!

[Both flamingos gasp]

THE FIRST FLAMINGO: Big and scary?

[Screams]

THE SECOND FLAMINGO: Oh, no!

[All clamouring]

DESCRIPTION: All of the birds start to run in different directions, crashing into one another.

JOHN JOHN: What's going on, going on?

THE FIRST FLAMINGO: Squawk!

[Whimpering]

THE SECOND FLAMINGO: There's something in the forest! I heard it's big and loud. And scary! Oh, Doodle saw it! It must be some kind of monster!

JOHN JOHN: A monster! A monster! Squawk!

[All clamoring]

DESCRIPTION: John John turns to Martin and a swan.

JOHN JOHN: And Doodle was so scared by the monster that her feathers turned white!

MARTIN: White! Squawk!

THE FIRST SWAN: What's so bad about that?

DESCRIPTION: A second swan approaches the group.

THE SECOND SWAN: Is there something bad?

THE FIRST SWAN: Just a huge, noisy, terrifying monster that tried to stomp on Doodle with its huge, noisy, terrifying feet.

[Both gulp]

[All scream]

DESCRIPTION: Later that day, all of the birds crouch behind a bush.

[Campers whimpering]

LEONARDO: Have any of you seen it?

CHICKEN: No, but we heard that it's very big and very loud and very scary!

[All squawk]

BROWN BIRD: D-do you think it might be a bear?

LOUIE: Or maybe a tiger?

MARTIN: Big, loud and scary? Maybe it's a... rhinoceros!

[All screaming]

DESCRIPTION: All of the birds leap into the air and hide in Odo’s treehouse.

FLAMINGO: Um, what is a rhinoceros?

MARTIN: It's a huge animal with a giant horn on its nose. And it runs really fast.

[All resume screaming]

DESCRIPTION: Later, Camp Leader takes a plate of apples from the cabin.

CAMP LEADER: Ah, these sliced apples came out perfectly, if I do say so myself. All right, everyone, snack time!

DESCRIPTION: Camp Leader walks to the base of the treehouse. A stick falls from the air in front of her.

[Campers shuddering]

CAMP LEADER: Oh. What's wrong?

DESCRIPTION: The birds look over the side of the treehouse, down at Camp Leader.

FLAMINGO: There's a monster in the woods!

JOHN JOHN: A really big one! Big one! Squawk!

CHICKEN: And really loud and scary!

[All clamoring]

CAMP LEADER: All right, everyone, calm down. There's no such thing as monsters.

MARTIN: There is such a thing as a rhinoceros, though.

ALL [YELLING]: It's a rhinoceros!

CAMP LEADER: Don't be silly. It can't be a rhinoceros. That's preposterous.

BUD: Preposterous rhinoceros.

[Gasps]

LOUIE: "Pre-nosteros."

[Both laughing]

[All shushing]

CAMP LEADER: There's simply no way a rhinoceros would be in these woods!

SWAN: If I was a rhinoceros, I'd go wherever I wanted!

DESCRIPTION: Just then, Odo walks up to Camp Leader.

ODO: Has anyone seen Doodle?

BROWN BIRD: Doodle is missing?

[Gasps]

BROWN BIRD: What if it's the monster?

[All gasping]

ODO: There's a monster? Doodle! I need to find her! I know I can!

CAMP LEADER: All right, everyone, let's not get our feathers in a flurry. Why don't all of you come down into my hut for a nice afternoon snack? And, Odo, I'll help you find Doodle.

MARTIN: I'll come too! In case it is a rhinoceros. I've met some before where I come from. Let's hurry!

DESCRIPTION: Later, Martin, Odo, and Camp Leader are in the woods.

CAMP LEADER: Doodle!

MARTIN: Doodle!

ODO: Doodle! Where are you?

[All calling]

MARTIN: Where are you? Well, it doesn't look like a rhinoceros has been through here. Well, that's good.

ODO: We're not calling loud enough. Camp Leader, can I try?

DESCRIPTION: Odo takes the megaphone from Camp Leader. He shouts into it so loudly, the trees shake, and pinecones fall from the sky.

[Inhales deeply]

ODO [LOUDLY]: Doodle!

[Camp Leader sighing]

DESCRIPTION: Just then, Doodle walks up behind the group, carrying a pile of leaves.

DOODLE: Odo, is that you?

ODO: Doodle! Whoa!

[Odo laughing]

DESCRIPTION: Odo picks Doodle up in a big hug and spins her around.

CAMP LEADER [SIGHS]: Oh, there you are!

[Odo chuckles]

DOODLE: Whoa, what's going on?

MARTIN: We were worried you got stepped on by the monster.

ODO: Monster? What monster?

CAMP LEADER: Everybody seems to be convinced there's some kind of terrifying monster on the loose in the woods.

ODO: And that it might have got you!

MARTIN: Ruby said that the chickens said that you said it's really big and loud and scary!

DOODLE: Big and loud and scary? Oh, heh-heh! I think I know what you're talking about.

[Laughs]

DESCRIPTION: Later that day, Doodle, Odo, Camp Leader, and Martin knock on the cabin door. The other birds lean their heads out the window.

[Gasps]

LEONARDO: Doodle! Is that you?

CHICKEN: Are you all right?

ODO: Mm-hm. Doodle found the monster!

[All scream, whimpering]

DOODLE: It's okay, everyone! Here it is!

[Doodle giggles]

DESCRIPTION: Doodle picks up a pinecone and shows it to the group.

[All gasp]

DOODLE: A pine cone! I was surprised by the sound of it falling from a tree. And then more pine cones kept falling, and I was a bit scared.

LEONARDO: That's not big.

SWAN: Or loud. And it's definitely not scary!

LOUIE: It's just a pine cone!

[Chuckles]

BUD: More like a "pine-groan."

[Both laughing]

[All laughing]

DESCRIPTION: Back at the treehouse, all of the birds gather to help Odo and Doodle finish the roof of their treehouse.

[All laugh, exclaim, sigh]

DESCRIPTION: They place the final pinecone on top, but it rolls off the roof. It falls to the ground behind Camp Leader. The noise spooks Camp Leader, who spills her tea.

[Thump, gasp]

CAMP LEADER: Oh!

[All laughing]
