DESCRIPTION: At Forest Camp, Odo and Doodle play soccer together. Doodle runs backwards to try to catch the ball, but Camp Leader stops him right before he slips into a puddle of clay.
[Birds giggling]
[Grunting]
DOODLE: Ooh.
[Doodle gasps]
CAMP LEADER: Careful, Doodle. You nearly ran right into this.
DOODLE: A big, gooey clay patch.
CAMP LEADER: I'll get my "caution" tape and tape it off. We don't want any little birds falling in.
DESCRIPTION: Camp Leader sets down a mug on a log before walking off. The mug is white with purple trim and a purple flower in the centre. Odo turns to Doodle and picks up the soccer ball.
ODO: Now, watch this kick.
[Both gasp]
DESCRIPTION: The soccer ball flies into the air, bounces off a tree, and knocks into Camp Leader’s mug! The handle breaks off.
[Both gasp]
ODO: Oh, no, Doodle. Look what I've done to Camp Leader's mug.
DOODLE: Camp leader's favorite mug. She loves this mug so much.
DESCRIPTION: A thought bubble appears above their heads. They think about Camp Leader drinking from the white and purple mug, while birds run around and chase each other behind her.
[Camp Leader chuckles and sighs]
DESCRIPTION: In the thought bubble, Pigeon Post approaches Camp Leader with a container of tea.
PIGEON POST: More tea, Camp Leader?
CAMP LEADER: In my wonderful mug? Yes, please.
[The other birds clatter, squawk, cluck, and clamor around]
[Camp Leader sighs]
CAMP LEADER: I love my mug.
DESCRIPTION: The thought ends.
ODO: You're right, Doodle. Camp Leader really does love that mug. But maybe we can fix it.
DOODLE: Do you think we can?
ODO: With some sticky tree sap. Yep. There! Good as new.
DESCRIPTION: Odo takes some tree sap and reattaches the handle to the mug. He holds it up, but the mug falls off the handle and breaks into many pieces.
[Gasps]
[Both groan, gasps]
DOODLE: We'll never fix it now, Odo. It's in too many bits.
DESCRIPTION: Odo sweeps up the pieces of the mug.
ODO: Hmm, I know. To the clay patch!
DESCRIPTION: Later, Odo and Doodle run up to the clay patch. Camp Leader is taping it off with caution tape.
[Gasps]
ODO: Uh-oh. Doodle, we need to get by Camp Leader and grab some clay. We have to distract her somehow.
DOODLE: Hmm, I know. John-John can help.
[Camp Leader chuckling]
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, John John and Doodle hide behind a bush. Odo gestures at John John, who opens his mouth wide and makes a low grumble.
[Bear noise]
DESCRIPTION: Odo runs to Camp Leader.
ODO: Camp Leader, hear that? I think it was a bear.
[Chuckles]
CAMP LEADER: No, you don't get bears in these woods, Odo.
DESCRIPTION: Odo runs back over to John John and shakes his wings. John John leans his head back and makes a high-pitched howl.
[Wolf howl noise]
CAMP LEADER: Huh?
ODO: Camp Leader, I just heard a wolf!
CAMP LEADER: You don't get woods or bears in these woods, Odo.
DOODLE: What else have you got,John-John?
JOHN JOHN: Well, this?
[John John chitters and squeaks]
ODO: Camp Leader, I think I just heard… a biscuit-bug.
CAMP LEADER: Huh? A biscuit-bug?
ODO: Yes, bugs. They eat any biscuit they find.
CAMP LEADER: That's new to me. But you really can't be too cautious, can you? I'd better go and check.
DESCRIPTION: Odo takes a big handful of clay.
ODO: Thanks, John-John. Now, to make this clay into a mug.
DESCRIPTION: Later, Odo slaps the clay down onto a wooden clay wheel. He pumps the foot pedal to make it spin.
ODO: Ah, this wheel should be perfect for making mugs on.
[Odo grunts]
DESCRIPTION: The wheel spins, launching clay pieces.
[Both gasping]
DOODLE: Look out.
DESCRIPTION: Odo pumps the foot pedal again.
ODO: Oh, you can make it spin slower. Now, let's make that mug.
DESCRIPTION: Odo holds his hands against the sides of the clay and starts to shape it. The first one is misshapen. Odo rolls the clay up and tries again.
ODO: Umm, right. The next one will be better. Watch this.
DESCRIPTION: Odo makes a series of clay mugs, all of which are misshapen.
ODO: Too big. Too floppy. Too lumpy. Too weird. Too round. Too square! Too hard! This is too hard, Doodle. We'll never do it.
DOODLE: Can I have a go, Odo?
[Odo sighs]
ODO: If you want, Doodle. But it's not easy.
DOODLE: Hmm. Umm,
DESCRIPTION: Doodle begins to shape the clay. When he is done, an intricate sculpture is attached to the side of a bowl. Doodle frowns.
[Odo gasps]
DOODLE: Oh. You're right, Odo. This is nothing like a mug.
DESCRIPTION: Doodle crushes the bowl and starts again.
[Odo gasps]
ODO: Wait, Doodle. Stop. It's a great mug. You've done it.
DESCRIPTION: Odo attaches a handle to the side of Doodle's mug.
ODO: And I've made the handle. Let's leave it out in the sun to bake.
DOODLE: Yay!
DESCRIPTION: Later that day, the mug is dry and cracked.
DOODLE: It's the most perfect mug I've ever seen.
ODO: Now, we just need to paint it, and then it'll look just like Camp Leader's mug.
DESCRIPTION: Later, Camp Leader walks back toward the clay pile.
CAMP LEADER: A lot of those biscuits were eaten, but not by a biscuit-bug.
[Camp Leader giggles]
CAMP LEADER: Delicious. Now, where did I put my mug?
DESCRIPTION: Behind her, Odo and Doodle place their new mug back on the log.
ODO: Camp Leader will never tell the difference. Camp Leader, here's your mug. It's just over here.
CAMP LEADER: Oh! Wonderful, you've found my– Huh? Where has this strange mug come from? Hmm. I'm not sure.
DOODLE: Oh, dear, Odo. I think we should tell her.
[Odo sighs]
ODO: It was me, Camp Leader. I-- I broke your mug. I'm so very sorry. We only wanted to put things right and make you a new one exactly the same.
CAMP LEADER: But this isn't the same, Odo. It isn't the same at all. It's better! Much better! Come with me.
DESCRIPTION: Camp Leader leads Doodle and Odo over to the cabin. She takes out a box that is filled with identical mugs, all white and purple with a floral design.
CAMP LEADER: You see, my mug is always getting knocked over and broken in camp. That's why I have lots of spares. All the same!
[Both gasp, then laugh]
ODO: Wow. So, when it happened, we should have just told you we broke your mug.
CAMP LEADER: Well, yes. But then, I never would have got this. So unique, and different from my others. And made by my very own campers. Now, this is a very special mug. I think it's time for a cuppa.
DESCRIPTION: Camp Leader pours tea into Odo’s mug. The cracks can’t hold the liquid, so Camp Leader holds two mugs beneath it and catches the leaking tea. Pigeon Post walks up to the cabin, holding a plate of biscuits.
CAMP LEADER: Tea and biscuits for everyone!
PIGEON POST: Did I hear someone say, tea for everyone? Yes, please. What a special mug, Camp Leader.
CAMP LEADER: For special occasions.
[Camp Leader and Pigeon Post chuckle]
DOODLE AND ODO: Mmm!
