Polkaroo skips down the porch steps of his house into the garden. It's nighttime. The lights are on inside the house and there is a cozy sofa on the porch. Polkaroo looks at the night sky using his telescope.

Polkaroo is a tall, green kangaroo, and wears a mended, yellow and multi-coloured polka dot costume. He cups his hands over his long green ears and says POLKAROO!

His yellow hair moves as he jumps up and flies to outer space. He passes planet Earth and continues flying way up like a rocket.

He yells POLKAROO!

As the hot, blazing Sun and Mercury appear, a female voice says
IF YOU GO WAY UP, PASSED
THE CLOUDS INTO SPACE,
YOU'LL FIND EIGHT PLANETS,
EACH IN THEIR PLACE.

The planets appear on screen as the voice names them. Mercury is small and red.

The voice says THE FIRST IS MERCURY,
SECOND IS VENUS,
Venus is brownish with stripes.

The voice continues THIRD IS THE EARTH WITH THE
MOON FLYING BETWEEN US.
The Earth is blue and brown, which shows the surface of the oceans and the land. The moon appears between Earth and Mars.

The voice says MARS IS FOURTH,
Mars is red.

The voice says JUPITER'S FIFTH.
Jupiter is enormous and red with off white stripes and a stain shaped like an eye.

The voice says SATURN'S THE SIXTH WITH
RINGS THAT GO SWISH.
Saturn is greyish and has rings around it.

The voice says SEVENTH IS URANUS,
THEN AT THE END,
NEPTUNE IS EIGHTH NEAR
PLUTO THEIR FRIEND.

Polkaroo flies around the planets as he yells POLKAROO!

The voice says THERE'S ONLY ONE PLANET,
ONE PLANET ALONE,
WHERE CHILDREN CAN RUN
AND PLAY AND CALL HOME.

Polkaroo pops up next to planet Earth as the number “1” appears next to it.

The voice says EARTH IS THE ONE PLANET WE
KNOW WHERE ANIMALS LIVE
AND PLANTS CAN GROW.

A cat and a flowerpot appear on planet Earth.

The voice says EARTH HAS ONE MOON
THAT FLOATS IN THE SKY.
YOU CAN GO SEE IT.
GO GIVE IT A TRY.

The Moon spins around the Earth.

The voice says EARTH HAS ONE MOON.
IT TAKES ONE DAY TO SPIN.
AND ONCE ROUND THE SUN,
ONE YEAR IT HAS BEEN.

The Earth spins around the Sun, as the Moon spins around the Earth.

The voice says THERE'S ONLY ONE ME,
THERE'S ONLY ONE YOU.
ONE PLANET EARTH,
AND ONE POLKAROO.

Now Polkaroo stands in space holding planet Earth in his hand.

He says POLKAROO!

The voice says NOW, POLKAROO,
SAY GOODBYE TO SPACE.
HELP PUT THE PLANETS
BACK INTO PLACE.

Polkaroo lets go of planet Earth, and it floats back into its place, third from the Sun.

The voice says BYE-BYE, PLANETS,
BYE-BYE POLKAROO.
POLKAROO SAYS
BYE-BYE TO YOU, TOO.

Polkaroo floats away as he waves his hand.
