[Bouncy theme music plays]

One red block with eyes has a numberling with the number One. Two, Three, Four, and Five run beside One.

The Numberblocks sing, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, NUMBERBLOCKS.

Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, and Ten jump.

The Numberblocks sing, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, TEN, NUMBERBLOCKS. ONE AND ANOTHER ONE IS TWO, AND ANOTHER ONE IS…

[Chiming]

Two Ones combine and make Two. Another One jumps on the stack and makes Three.

Three sings, ME.

The Numberblocks sing, THAT’S THREE. FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE, TIME FOR SOME NUMBER FUN. YOU CAN COUNT ON US, WE'RE THE NUMBERBLOCKS.

[Chiming]

Title: “Number Blocks.”

[Upbeat music plays, Two giggling, One laughing, Four grunting, slide whistle]

One, Two, Three, and Four stand on a soccer field. One and Two stand in the nets at opposite ends. In the centre, Three kicks the ball past Four.

[One grunting, thumping, boinging, thumping, One gasping]

One blocks the ball, and it bounces off a post. The ball hits a cone at the corner of the field and knocks it over.

Four says, OH, NO. ROUND THING.

[Thumping, slide whistle, Two grunting]

Four kicks the ball. Two dives and misses the ball. It sticks to a white wall behind him and flattens.

Two says, OUR A BALL. IT'S FLAT.

A green square appears.

Square asks, HMM. WHAT'S ALL THE NOISE?

Two says, OH.

Four smiles and says, I DON'T THINK THAT'S A WALL AT ALL. I THINK THAT'S...

Everyone says, FLAT LAND!

[Light music plays]

Four says, HELLO, SQUARE. CAN WE HAVE OUR BALL BACK, PLEASE?

The square says, BALL? YOU MEAN THIS CIRCLE?

[Boinging, Square chuckling]

Square says, I ALWAYS WANTED TO VISIT STICKY-OUTY LAND. OOH! HERE I COME.

[Grunting]

Square jumps out of Flatland and onto the field. He falls backwards and lies flat on the grass with the circle ball.

Two says, HE'S AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE.

[Whooshing]

Three picks up the circle and spins it.

Three says, SO IS OUR BALL.

[Square gasping, whooshing]

Square stands and walks around Four.

Square says, YOU'RE CHANGING SHAPE. YOU'RE A SQUARE. NO. A RECTANGLE. NO. ALL SORTS OF THINGS!

[Boinging, light music plays]

One jumps.

One says, YOU'RE SEEING DIFFERENT BITS OF FOUR AS YOU MOVE AROUND. TRY LOOKING AT EACH OF MY SURFACES STRAIGHT ON.

[Thumping, whooshing]

One sits on the field and forms a cube. Square moves around her.

Square says, FROM THE SIDE, I SEE A SQUARE. FROM THE TOP, ANOTHER SQUARE. AND FROM THE FRONT, A SQUARE AGAIN. A SQUARE ON EVERY SURFACE. OOH. LET'S TRY SOMETHING.

Square says, HEY, SQUARES?

[Slide whistles, popping, whooshing]

More green squares leave Flatland. They fit together as Square directs them.

Square says, LET'S HAVE A SQUARE AT THE BOTTOM, A SQUARE ON THE LEFT, AND ONE ON THE RIGHT STICKING STRAIGHT UP. TWO MORE IN THE GAPS THERE, AND ONE MORE SQUARE ON TOP.

[Whooshing]

Square lies on the gap at the top.

Square says, SIX SQUARES MAKE ONE...

All the squares say, CUBE!

[The music stops, whooshing]

The green squares move, leaving a purple cube hovering on the field.

Two says, WELL, WELL. FLAT SHAPES LIKE SQUARES...

Three says, CAN JOIN UP TO MAKE SOLID SHAPES, LIKE CUBES.

[Upbeat music plays]

A yellow triangle says, OH. THAT LOOKS FUN. HOW ABOUT SOME THREE-SIDED SHAPES?

[Slide whistle, popping, thumping, light music plays]

Triangle leaves Flatland, and other yellow triangles follow her. The triangles fit together as Three directs them.

Three says, NOW, YOU'RE TALKING. YOU LIE DOWN HERE. YOU CAN FIT ON THERE, AND YOU GO THERE. HMM. THERE'S A GAP. OH. LEAN IN SO YOU'RE TOUCHING. WHICH JUST LEAVES ROOM FOR ONE MORE TRIANGLE…

[Whooshing]

Triangle jumps into the gap and smiles. The triangles move, leaving a green pyramid hovering over the field.

Three continues, MAKING A PYRAMID, WITH A TRIANGLE BASE AND ONE, TWO, THREE-- THREE MORE TRIANGLES, MEETING AT A POINT.

Four says, MAKING FOUR TRIANGLES IN ALL.

Three crosses her arms.

Three says, WHAT? HMM.

[Light music plays]

One asks, WHAT ABOUT CIRCLES? CIRCLES HAVE ONE CURVED EDGE.

[Slide whistle, thumping]

One jumps off the top of a cylinder and points at it.

One says, OH, LOOK. THIS IS A SOLID SHAPE WITH A CIRCLE ON THE TOP.

[Tapping]

Four picks up the cylinder and examines the top.

Two says, AND ANOTHER ON THE BOTTOM.

Four asks, BUT HOW DO WE MAKE THIS BIT?

[Footsteps tapping]

Two looks at the side of the cylinder.

Two says, HMM. FROM HERE, IT LOOKS LIKE A SQUARE.

[Whooshing]

Square asks, MAYBE IF I TRY BENDING?

[Square grunting]

Square presses against one side of the cylinder.

Two says, YOU NEED TO BE WIDER, LIKE A LONG RECTANGLE.

[Popping, light music continues]

A green rectangle leaves Flatland.

Rectangle asks, DID SOMEBODY SAY, "RECTANGLE?" LET'S WRAP THIS UP.

[Grunting]

Rectangle rolls into a cylinder with two open ends.

Two says, GREAT! NOW, TWO CIRCLES, PLEASE...

[Whooshing]

Two red circles leave Flatland and cover the gaps at each end of the cylinder.

Two continues, TO FIT IN THOSE TWO GAPS.

[The music stops]

Three says, HUH. I'M NOT IMPRESSED BY SOME SILLY CYLINDER.

[Two chuckling]

Two says, YOU SHOULD BE. A CYLINDER IS A SOLID SHAPE WITH THREE SURFACES.

[Whooshing, bright music notes play]

Rectangle and the two red circles break apart and leave a yellow cylinder hovering over the field.

Three says, OH, I LOVE IT!

[Rustling, light music plays]

A face appears on one of the circles. Circle looks at the bottom of the overturned cone and flips it upright.

Circle says, THIS SHAPE HERE HAS A CIRCLE ON THE BOTTOM. BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS SLOPING SURFACE?

[Popping, whooshing]

An orange semicircle leaves Flatland.

Semicircle says, HALF A MOMENT. I'M HALF A CIRCLE. A SEMICIRCLE. LET ME GIVE THIS BENDING THING A GO.

[Grunting, creaking, whooshing, gentle thumping, gentle music notes play]

Semicircle bends into a cone with a circular opening at the base. Circle fills the opening, and then they break apart, leaving a cone hovering over the field.

Two says, WELL, WELL. SO, A CONE IS A SOLID SHAPE WITH TWO SURFACES, ONE FLAT AND ONE CURVED.

One holds the circle ball.

One says, OH, THIS IS SO MUCH FUN! BUT WE STILL HAVEN'T GOT OUR BALL BACK.

[Whooshing]

Circle spins quickly.

Cricle says, I HEARD A STORY ONCE ABOUT A CIRCLE WHO SPUN REALLY, REALLY FAST AND MADE A SPHERE APPEAR.

[Thumping, light music plays]

A red ball-like sphere appears on the field.

One says, WOW! A SOLID SHAPE WITH JUST ONE CURVED SURFACE. AMAZING!

Two says, WE DIDN'T GET OUR BALL BACK. WE GOT A BIGGER BALL INSTEAD. HOORAY!

[Upbeat music plays]

Three says, LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL.

Four cheers, YAY! HOORAY!

[Everyone cheering, thumping]

Three kicks the ball to Two.
