Title: “Number Blocks.”
[Number blobs laughing, boinging, slide whistle, cheerful music plays]
In a clearing, five number blobs bounce excitedly around Two and Three.
The number blobs say, PLAY FORT! PLAY FORT!
[Four grunting, box scraping]
Four pushes a giant box three times his height that has a picture of blocks on the side.
Four says, HERE IT IS, EVERYBODY!
[Laughing]
One says, OH, WOW! CUBOID CASTLE CONSTRUCTION KIT!
Two says, OOH. WHAT'S A CUBOID?
Three says, LET'S FIND OUT.
[Box rustling, Three gasping, blocks clattering, birds chirping]
Three opens the box, and the blocks tumble out.
Two asks, THEY CAN'T ALL BE CUBOIDS, CAN THEY?
Four says, UM... THEY'RE ALL QUITE BOXY.
Three says, HAH! WHY DON'T THEY JUST CALL IT BOXY CASTLE? CUBOID, INDEED.
[Birds chirping, footsteps thumping, whooshing, upbeat music plays]
Four walks over, picks up a yellow cube, and turns it.
Four says, I LIKE "CUBOID." SOUNDS A BIT LIKE "CUBE." SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE, SQUARE!
[Chuckling]
Four continues, OH, I DO LIKE CUBES.
Four picks up a column-like block.
Two says, THIS ONE HAS SQUARE FACES, TOO. HERE AND HERE. BUT THE OTHER FACES ARE RECTANGLE.
Four says, A SQUARE IS A RECTANGLE, REMEMBER? A SPECIAL ONE, WITH ALL SIDES THE SAME LENGTH.
Three says, WHICH MEANS ALL THESE SHAPES HAVE RECTANGULAR FACES.
[Slide whistle]
One walks out of the box.
One says, THEN THAT MUST BE WHAT A CUBOID IS! A SOLID SHAPE MADE OF SIX RECTANGLES.
Three says, UH... HMM.
[Number blobs giggling, rustling]
Three runs away from the blocks, which are the cuboids, and takes a booklet away from the number blobs. She holds the booklet up.
Three says, AH-HAH! HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS.
Two says, WE CAN WORK IT OUT TOGETHER.
[Page rustling, upbeat music plays, popping]
On the first page, three cubes are placed in a row, from smallest to largest.
Three says, ONE STEP AT A TIME. AND THE FIRST STEP IS... SOME STEPS. WE NEED THREE DIFFERENT CUBES. ONE SMALL, ONE MEDIUM, ONE BIG.
[Rustling]
One, Two, and Three collect the three cubes.
One says, OH, HERE'S ONE!
Two says, AND ANOTHER.
Four says, I'VE GOT THIS ONE.
Three says, PUT THE SMALL CUBE ON THE LEFT. THE LARGE CUBE ON THE RIGHT. AND THE MEDIUM CUBE IN BETWEEN.
One says, SMALL CUBE ON THE LEFT.
[One grunting]
One puts the small cube on the grass. Four and Two push over the larger cubes.
Four says, LARGE CUBE ON THE RIGHT.
Two says, AND THIS GOES IN THE MIDDLE.
[Clunking, sliding]
They push the three cubes together.
Three says, AH, GOOD, GOOD, GOOD. NOW WE NEED...A REALLY LONG, THIN, FLAT CUBOID.
Two says, HMM. LONG, FLAT, AND THIN. OOH! LIKE THIS?
Two and Four carry a long cuboid out of the box. Three looks at the next step, where the long cuboid leans against the largest cube, creating a slope.
Three says, PERFECT! NOW, CONNECT ONE END TO THE TOP OF THE LARGE CUBE. SO IT SLOPES DOWN TO THE RIGHT.
[Grunting, tapping]
Two and Four put the long cuboid in place.
One says, OH! IT'S A SLIDE!
[Number blobs cheering]
The number blobs bounce towards the cuboids.
Two says, HOLD ON.
[Chuckling]
Two says, WE STILL HAVE LOTS OF CUBOIDS TO GO.
Four says, SO LET'S GET BUILDING!
[Everyone cheering, laughing, clicking, happy music plays, footsteps pattering, Four grunting, giggling, slide whistle, clicking]
By the box, Two holds a long cuboid, and Three and Four attach a cube to each end. Four jumps from One to Two to Three, and places a large cube on top of a stack. They connect the cuboids and build a wall. Later, Three, One, Four, and Two stand by the empty box and admire the castle.
Two says, THERE. FINISHED!
[Numberblocks exclaiming, number blobs chittering, laughing, One gasping, dramatic music plays]
The number blobs bounce excitedly towards the castle. One glances at the box and notices a long, flat cuboid on the bottom.
One says, THERE'S ONE CUBOID LEFT! WE MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING.
[Rustling, dramatic music plays]
Nine pushes a second large box into the clearing.
Nine says, FOUR, THERE YOU ARE! YOU FORGOT THIS. THE PYRAMIDS AND TRIANGULAR PRISMS EXPANSION PACK!
[Whooshing, thumping, birds singing, whooshing]
Nine opens the box, and pyramids and triangular prisms fall on the grass.
Two says, THIS MUST BE A TRIANGULAR PRISM, WITH A TRIANGLE AT EACH END, JOINED UP BY RECTANGLES.
[Upbeat music plays, thumping]
Two, One, and Four build a seesaw in front of the castle.
Three says, OH, I SEE. TWO, PUT THAT PRISM DOWN THERE. ONE, FOUR, PUT THE LONG CUBOID ON TOP SO IT BALANCES IN THE MIDDLE. IT'S A SEESAW!
[Two gasping, slide whistle, cheering, laughing, seesaw creaking]
One jumps on top of Two, and they create another three. The two Threes ride the seesaw.
Four says, UM, WE HAVEN'T FINISHED YET.
[One grunting, Four grunting, Nine grunting, boinging, laughing, clicking, cheering, clicking, upbeat music continues]
One holds a pyramid beside a stack of cubes. Four picks up One and puts her on his head. Nine puts Four on his head. One puts the pyramid on top of the cubes. Four and Two but triangular prisms on top of the raised merlons on the battlements.
One says, WAIT!
[Everyone gasping, the music ends]
