Number 1 is red and made out of one building block, with only one eye.
Number 2 is orange, made out of 2 building blocks and wears glasses.
Number 3 is yellow, made out of 3 building blocks and wears a crown.
Number 4 is green and made out of 4 blocks forming a square.
Number 5 is blue, made out of 5 blocks and wears one big glove on the left hand and a star around the right eye.

ON THE NINTH FLOOR OF NUMERICAL
TOWERS.
I LEFT HOME THIS MORNING AT 9:00
TO BUY A NEWSPAPER.
WHEN I CAME BACK, NINE MINUTES
LATER, THE DOOR WAS OPEN.
EVERYTHING WAS GONE!
One says A MYSTERY INDEED.
I'LL TAKE THE CASE.
LET'S LOOK FOR CLUES.
DID YOU NOTICE ANYTHING STRANGE
OR UNUSUAL WHEN YOU GOT BACK?
Nine says UHH... NO, NOTHING.
OOH, THERE WAS ONE THING!
A SUSPICIOUS, SHADOWY STRANGER
IN A COAT AND HAT PUSHED PAST ME
AND RAN OUT OF THAT DOOR.
BUT APART FROM THAT, NOTHING.
One says CAN YOU DESCRIBE THIS
STRANGER?
Nine says THEY WERE AS WIDE AS THE
DOOR, SO TWO BLOCKS WIDE, WITH
A FLAT HEAD.
One takes down notes.
One says CLUE ONE: FLAT HEAD WHEN
STANDING TWO BLOCKS WIDE.
ANYTHING ELSE?
Nine says I COULD SEE OVER THEIR HEAD
WHEN WE WERE BOTH TWO BLOCKS
WIDE, SO THEY MUST HAVE BEEN
SMALLER THAN ME.
One says CLUE TWO:
SMALLER THAN NINE.
HMM...
Nine gasps and says LOOK; HAT, COAT!
IT'S THEM!
One says AFTER THEM, QUICK!
One and nine chase a number.
Nine says THERE, ON THE STEPS!
THE HAT!
One says THESE AREN'T STEPS!
IT'S-- AHH!
DID EITHER OF YOU SEE A
SUSPICIOUS, STEP-SHAPED FIGURE
IN A COAT AND HAT?
Three says SORRY, FRIEND, NO ONE ELSE
DOWN HERE.
Another three says JUST US.
One says SOMETHING DIDN'T ADD UP.
OR DID IT?
LET'S LOOK AT WHAT WE KNOW.
CLUE ONE...
THE SUSPECT HAD A FLAT HEAD
WHEN STANDING TWO BLOCKS WIDE.
SO IT CAN'T HAVE BEEN THREE,
FIVE, SEVEN OR NINE.
Nine stands next to number blocks.
Nine says AND IT WASN'T YOU, BECAUSE
YOU CAN'T STAND TWO BLOCKS WIDE.
TWO, FOUR, SIX, EIGHT,
TEN!
THE SUSPECT MUST BE AN EVEN
NUMBER!
One says BINGO!
AND REMEMBER, CLUE TWO: THE
SUSPECT WAS SMALLER THAN NINE.
SO IT CAN'T HAVE BEEN TEN.
Nine says THAT STILL LEAVES TWO, FOUR,
SIX, AND EIGHT.
BUT WHICH WAS IT?
One says HMM... WAIT!
THERE'S ONE MORE CLUE WE NEARLY
FORGOT!
THE SUSPECT CAN MAKE A STEP
SHAPE.
NOT TWO... OR FOUR.
OR EIGHT.
SO IT MUST HAVE BEEN...
Nine says SIX!
One says AND WHO DID WE MEET IN THE
ALLEY?
One separates three blocks out of number six.
Nine says THREE, AND ANOTHER
THREE!
One says EQUALS SIX!
Then, one and nine run towards a number loading boxes into a van on the street.
One says STOP, THIEF!
Nine says HA!
Six says YOU'VE GOT IT ALL WRONG.
OH, WHERE TO BEGIN?
I'M NOT TAKING THESE THINGS.
I'M MOVING THEM IN.
One says MOVING IN?
Six says COME UP, AND I'LL SHOW YOU.
One says ONE... TWO... THREE...
FOUR... FIVE... NINE...
They go upstairs to different floors.
One says WAIT!
NINE DOESN'T COME AFTER FIVE.
THIS ISN'T APARTMENT NINE!
IT'S APARTMENT SIX!
LOOK, NUMBER SIX TURNED
UPSIDE DOWN LOOKS LIKE A NUMBER
NINE!
Six and nine say OH!
One says NO ONE STOLE YOUR THINGS,
NINE.
YOU WENT INTO SIX'S EMPTY
APARTMENT.
Nine says SO MY THINGS MUST BE...
RIGHT WHERE I LEFT THEM!
Nine runs to his apartment on the ninth floor.
One says CASE CLOSED.
Nine says SORRY WE CHASED YOU, SIX.
Six says I THOUGHT THAT YOU WERE AFTER
ME, THAT'S WHY I HID AS THREE
PLUS THREE.
One says LET'S MAKE IT UP TO YOU BY
HELPING YOU MOVE IN.
