Transcript: Stuffie Friends
(Playful music plays)
Text reads, tvokids + yle + Radio-Canada Original.
Different animal friends cheer and giggle as they build and decorate a world together. They put together a title on a cloud. Giant panda Momolu adds the letter M to the title that reads, TVOKids Presents Momolu And Friends.
Birds chirp as Momolu and his animal friends Nooni the fox, Bani the rabbit, Huhu the owl, Hiko the badger and DJ Bass the Bear wave.
Together they cheer, YAY!
Momolu announces, STUFFIE FRIENDS!
Banni says, YOU CAN'T CATCH ME!
She and Hiko roller-skate down a path. Hiko pulls a wagon. He laughs.
He says, OH, I MOST CERTAINLY CAN!
Banni giggles. She rolls down the path with Hiko close behind. Momolu is head first in large bush.
She says, OH, MOMOLU!
WE'RE HERE!
Hiko says, ARE YOU READY FOR OUR PICNIC
IN THE PARK?
The friends roll up to an open door but get no answer. They look at each other.
They say, HUH?
In a sing-song voice the friends say, MOMOLU, MOMOLU
COME OUT AND PLAY!
(Grunting)
Banni rolls up to the bush.
She says, MOMOLU?
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
She sticks her head in the bush beside Momolu.
She asks, WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT?
Momolu says, IT'S TUMBLES,
MY OCTOPUS STUFFIE.
He and Banni pull themselves out of the bush.
Momolu says, HE'S LOST!
(Sad music plays)
Hiko paces in front of a table with a notepad.
He says, RIGHT, THEN.
LET'S RETRACE YOUR STEPS.
Momolu says, OH, IT WAS
SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY.
WE PLAYED IN THE BACKYARD,
WENT TO THE ISLAND OF LEAVES,
THE CAFÉ, THE BEACH!
HE COULD BE ANYWHERE.
He sighs.
Banni says, WE'LL HELP YOU FIND TUMBLES,
MOMOLU.
WE'RE HERE FOR YOU.
Momolu says, WHAT IF HE'S SCARED?
ALL ALONE OUT THERE...
Hiko says, CAN YOU DESCRIBE TUMBLES
FOR ME?
Momolu says, HE'S AN OCTOPUS,
WITH EIGHT TICKLY TENTACLES.
Hiko writes on his notepad.
He says, HUM...
Momolu says, AND HE HAS ONE BUTTON EYE.
Hiko says, AH...
Momolu says, AND A RIP UNDER ONE TENTACLE.
Hiko says, LIKE THIS?
He shows Momolu a drawing of a smiling yellow octopus with one button eye.
Momolu says, THAT'S HIM!
Banni says, WE WILL MAKE POSTERS
AND PUT THEM EVERYWHERE.
Hiko says, THAT WAY IF ANYONE HAS
SEEN HIM, THEY WILL LET US KNOW.
Momolu says, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA.
Banni paints smiles on drawings of Tumbles.
She says, LET'S SPLIT UP.
WE'LL FIND TUMBLES FASTER
THAT WAY.
The friends each grab posters and go their separate ways. Momolu looks under a watering can near a water pump.
He says, HUH?
He puts down the watering can and walks up to a pink butterfly flying near a bush. Momolu holds up a poster of Tumbles. The butterfly shakes her head. Momolu frowns.
He says, HMM.
Elsewhere, Hiko runs past a turtle wearing glasses.
Hiko says, UH-HUH.
He skids to a stop and turns around. He shows the turtle a poster. The turtle ducks into his shell and returns with a smaller pink turtle.
Hiko says, OH, HI THERE, LITTLE TURTLE.
Hiko returns to his search. Elsewhere, Banni roller skates up to two birds on a fence. She shows them a poster. They chirp and shake their heads. Bannie frowns.
She says, OH...
Elsewhere, Hiko follows a footprints in sand with a magnifying glass that leads to a bench.
He says, AH-HA!
Close by, a black bear wearing a bowtie pops up and waves. Hiko gets close to the bench where there is a dirty looking yellow octopus stuffie with one button eye.
Hiko says, AH?
He looks up at the bench. He puts away his magnifying glass and pulls out a poster.
He says, HMM.
Hiko looks between the poster and the stuffie.
He says, AH-HA! ONCE AGAIN,
DETECTIVE HIKO HAS SOLVED
THE CASE!
He returns to Momolu’s house with the octopus stuffie. He knocks on the door.
He says, MOMOLU!
Hiko looks in Momolu’s window.
He says, HMM.
Banni slides up to Hiko.
She says, YOU FOUND HIM!
THAT'S AMAZING!
MOMOLU MUST BE SO HAPPY!
Hiko says, HE DOES NOT KNOW YET.
HE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE HOME.
Banni says, AWW.
She takes Tumbles from Hiko.
She says, POOR TUMBLES.
HE SURE IS DIRTY.
AND LOOK AT THIS RIP.
She holds up one of Tumbles tentacles.
Hiko says, I KNOW.
AND ONE OF HIS BUTTON EYES
HAS FALLEN OFF.
Banni says, HIKO, WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT IF
WE GAVE TUMBLES BACK TO MOMOLU
ALL NICE AND CLEAN AND
SHINY NEW?
Hiko says, WHAT AN INSPIRED IDEA!
IF I WERE MOMOLU,
I WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE THAT!
Banni cleans Tumbles in a bowl of soapy water. She giggles as she scrubs Tumbles with a sponge. She blows bubbles off the octopus and laughs. Hiko dries Tumbles off with a towel. Banni hops into a tall red barn where Huhu dumps out a box of buttons. Huhu wears a brown hat with a yellow star.
Banni says, THANK YOU, HUHU.
I KNEW YOU WOULD HAVE LOTS
OF BUTTONS.
Huhu says, HOW ABOUT THIS ONE?
She offers a triangular yellow button.
Banni says, NO.
Huhu says, PERHAPS THIS ONE?
She offers a round pink button.
Banni says, NOPE.
Huhu says, HOW ABOUT THIS ONE?
She offers a round blue button that matches Tumbles’.
Banni says, WAIT. YES!
She smiles and nods.
She says, THANKS TO YOU, TUMBLES WILL NOW
HAVE TWO BUTTON EYES!
Huhu says, HAPPY TO HELP!
She waves from a window in the top of the barn as Banni hops away with Tumbles. She watches Hiko sweat as he sews on the new button.
Banni says, HUH?
She dabs the sweat with a sponge. She giggles and holds Tumbles ripped tentacle. Hiko finishes sewing and Banni giggles as she cuts the string.
Hiko says, I THINK I GOT IT.
He holds up the repaired Tumbles.
Banni says, HE LOOKS PERFECT!
OH! WAIT!
She jumps into a chest and pulls out a purple bowtie. She puts it on Tumbles and giggles.
Hiko says, I LIKE THAT.
Banni says, WHEN MOMOLU SEES WHAT WE DID
WITH TUMBLES,
HE WILL BE SO HAPPY!
COME ON, TUMBLES.
LET'S FIND MOMOLU!
Hiko places Tumbles outside Momolu’s door and knocks. He and Banni quickly run behind the house. They giggle as they secretly watch Momolu open the door. Momolu looks sad. He looks around. He looks down and gasps.
He says, TUMBLES!
He picks up Tumbles.
He says, I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!
Banni and Hiko jump out.
They say, TA-DAH!
Hiko says, I FOUND HIM BY THE BEACH.
Momolu says, OH! WE TOOK A NAP THERE
YESTERDAY!
THANK YOU!
YAY! WOOHOO!
He snuggles Tumbles. Hiko chuckles.
He says, IT MADE ME SO SAD THINKING
NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN.
Momolu hugs Tumbles tightly.
He says, HMM.
He smells the octopus.
He says, HUH?
THAT'S ODD.
TUMBLES SMELLS LIKE SOAP.
Banni says, WE GAVE HIM A BATH!
HE WAS SO DIRTY.
Momolu says, OH!
AND HE NOW HAS TWO BUTTON
EYES.
AND WHERE'S THE RIP?
HE DIDN'T HAVE A BOW TIE
BEFORE.
Banni and Hiko look at each other.
They say, HUH?
Hiko says, WE CLEANED HIM UP.
WE THOUGHT IT WOULD MAKE
YOU HAPPY.
Momolu sighs.
Banni says, OH, BUT WE ONLY MADE YOU
SADDER.
Momolu says, I’M REALLY HAPPY YOU FOUND
TUMBLES.
BUT EACH ONE OF THOSE STAINS
AND RIPS
REMINDED ME OF THE WONDERFUL
ADVENTURES WE HAD TOGETHER.
He thinks of an adventure with Tumbles.
Momolu says, THE STAIN ON HIS CHEEK...
He rolls down grassy hills with Tumbles.
Momolu says, …WAS FROM WHEN WE HAD SO MUCH FUN
ROLLING DOWN THE HILL.
Banni says, BUT WHAT ABOUT HIS MISSING
BUTTON EYE?
Momolu says, OH THAT!
WE WERE TRAMPOLINING!
He thinks of jumping on a trampoline with Tumbles.
He cheers, WHEE!
Tumbles bounces high into the air.
Momolu says, HUH?
Tumbles falls back down and bounces into Momolu’s hand.
Momolu says, HE GOT CAUGHT ON A BRANCH, WHEN
HE SAW A BABY BIRD UP THERE!
Hiko asks, WHAT ABOUT THE RIP?
Momolu says, WE LOVE KITE FLYING TOGETHER.
AND HE JUST WANTED TO GO
HIGHER AND HIGHER.
He remembers flying a kite with Tumbles tied to the kite and the kite’s string. Momolu hugs Tumbles.
He says, HE'S SUCH A BRAVE OCTOPUS.
Banni says, YOU'RE RIGHT, MOMOLU.
THOSE SOUND LIKE WONDERFUL
TIMES YOU HAD.
I'M SORRY.
Hiko says, ME TOO.
WE SHOULD HAVE ASKED YOU FIRST
BEFORE CLEANING TUMBLES.
Momolu says, YOU KNOW, HE LOOKS LIKE
HE DID WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM.
Banni says, HUH?
Momolu says, ROLY-POLY PANDAS!
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
Hiko and Banni look at each other.
Hiko says, HMM?
Momolu says, I HAVE TO MAKE NEW MEMORIES
WITH TUMBLES!
WANT TO JOIN US?
Banni says, BUNNY BRILLIANT!
Hiko says, MOST DEFINITELY!
The friends laugh together on a beach. They wear life vests as Tumbles floats on the water in a boat. The friends blow on the boat’s sail.
Momolu says, GO, TUMBLES, GO!
The friends laugh together.
