Descriptive Transcript

[Cheerful music plays, box boings, Yapette grunts, Roller Guinea chitters]

DESCRIPTION: In animation, a wooden spoon floats from a magical blue mixing box with yellow stars.

[Song] Mixmups, here come the Mixmups. Mixmups, mix, mix, the Mixmups. Mixmups, here come the Mixmups. Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh.

[Title] Mixmups.

DESCRIPTION: The Mixmups, Pockets, Spin and Giggle pose beneath the text. Pockets is a blue bear with red pockets. She wears triangular red eyeglasses with a yellow star on each side. Spin is a red rabbit with a yellow lollipop-like antenna poking out beneath each of his ears. Giggle, who uses a wheelchair, is a yellow-and-light-orange-striped cat. She holds Roller Guinea, a roller skate-wearing guinea pig, on her lap. Yellow, red and orange confetti flutters in the air.

[Chiming, cheerful music continues]

[Song] Mix up the magic, one, two, three!

DESCRIPTION: The Mixmups gather around the mixing box in front of their house. Lucky Loover Bird stands beside a swing on a hilltop. Magical sparkles leave their trunk and flow towards the Mixmups. Roller Guinea and Yapette, Pocket’s guide dog, stand with them. The Mixmups spin above the box and fly inside. In a forest with yellow and orange leaves on the trees, Giggle uses her electric tri-ride add-on with Pockets, Yapette, and Spin running behind her. In a bakery, Spin serves Pockets and Giggle cake. The Mixmups wear pirate hats, and Giggle turns a ship’s wheel. Pockets plays an electric guitar.

[Song] Mix it, twirl it, whirl it, hey! Time for some magic, adventure and play. Mixmups, Mixmups, hey, hey, hey! Mixmups, here come the Mixmups. Mixmups, mix, mix, the Mixmups. Mixmups, here come the Mixmups. Mix up the magic, mix up the magic. Mix up the magic with the Mixmups.

[Light music plays, birds chirp]

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD NARRATES: In Mixington Valley, the Mixmups play. What kind of adventure will they mix up today?

[The music stops, crayon scratches]

DESCRIPTION: In the Mixmups’ house, Giggle draws at a table, and Roller Guinea watches. Spin arrives, carrying a recorder.

SPIN: Hey, Giggle, listen to this.

[Plays recorder loudly, Roller Guinea grunts]

DESCRIPTION: Spin plays his recorder and Roller Guinea roller skates to Giggle’s lap.

SPIN: So, what do you think?

GIGGLE: That was, uh, great?

SPIN: Oh, good. I'll play some more.

[Trumpet music plays, Roller Guinea grunts]

SPIN: Huh? What's that noise?

[Crayon clunks, trumpet music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Giggle puts her crayon on the table and follows Spin to the living room. Pockets sits on the couch, holding her tablet while Yapette stands at her feet, watching her.

POCKETS: Hm. Piano.

[Beep, piano music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Spin sits on the couch.

SPIN: Pockets, where's that music coming from?

DESCRIPTION: On the tablet screen, a green dragon with pink wings dances beside a small piano.

POCKETS: I'm playing my new game. The Magic Music Dragon. The dragon can make the sound of any instrument you want.

SPIN: Ah, great. Uh, drums.

[Beep, drumming]

DESCRIPTION: On the tablet screen, the dragon sways by a drum.

GIGGLE: How about trumpet?

[Beep, trumpet music plays, Giggle giggles]

DESCRIPTION: On the tablet screen, the dragon sways beside a trumpet.

GIGGLE: I love it!

[Giggle gasps, light music plays]

GIGGLE: What if the Magic Music Dragon was a real dragon?

SPIN: It could play music to us all day long.

POCKETS: Ah, yes. Let's mix up a music adventure and find a real Magic Music Dragon to listen to.

[Everyone cheers, light music plays, door creaks]

DESCRIPTION: On the hilltop, Lucky Loover Bird hops off their swing and walks to a door in the tree trunk. They open it, revealing a recorder leaning on a cushion.

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD: Ooh, time to play.

[Birds chirp, thump]

DESCRIPTION: In the house, Pockets drops her tablet into the mixing box.

POCKETS: My Magic Music Dragon game.

[Whoosh, rustle]

DESCRIPTION: Spin drops his recorder into the mixing box.

SPIN: A music instrument.

GIGGLE: Don't forget music noises.

[Mixmups sing]

DESCRIPTION: They lean toward the hole in the box.

GIGGLE: Jingle, jingle!

POCKETS: What else do we need?

[Gentle music plays, sparkles chime]

DESCRIPTION: On the hilltop, Lucky Loover Bird blows sparkles towards the Mixmups.

MIXMUPS: Magic sparkles!

[Yapette barks, rock music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Pockets uses the wooden spoon to stir the contents of the mixing box.

MIXMUPS SING: Mix up the magic, one, two, three. Mix up the magic, whoo-hoo, yippee! Mix it, twirl it, whirl it, hey! Time for some magic, adventure and play. Mixmups, Mixmups, yeah!

DESCRIPTION: The Mixmups and the wooden spoon drop into the box. The box shrinks and disappears.

[Chime, thunk]

DESCRIPTION: The mixing box reappears in an empty white space, and the Mixmups and wooden spoon fly out. Pockets catches the spoon. The box unfolds, and a forest appears, with music notes growing among the pink leaves in bushes and trees. Green grass covers rolling mountain foothills.

MIXMUPS SING: Mixmups, Mixmups, Mixmups, mix up the magic, one, two, three. Yeah.

MIXMUPS: Wow!

[Yapette vocalizes]

GIGGLE: We're in a musical land. There's got to be a Magic Music Dragon here. Come on. Let's have a look around.

[Cheerful recorder music plays, Mixmups gasp]

DESCRIPTION: Lucky Loover Bird skips towards the Mixmups, playing the recorder.

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD: Oh, only me.

POCKETS: Who are you?

[Upbeat music plays]

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD: Today, I'm Mrs. Scales, the Musical Dragon Keeper.

SPIN: What's a Musical Dragon Keeper?

DESCRIPTION: Lucky Loover Bird, as Mrs. Scales, stands in front of the Mixmups.

MRS. SCALES: I look after dragons who can play music.

[Giggle claps]

GIGGLE: – Ooh, we're looking for a Magic Music Dragon.

MRS. SCALES: Oh, I look after one of them. He's called Tim, but I'm not sure where he is.

POCKETS: We can help you find him.

MRS. SCALES: Well, that would be very helpful.

[Upbeat flute music plays, music notes chime, Roller Guinea vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: Music notes float through the air over Mrs. Scales and the Mixmups.

GIGGLE: Ooh, I can hear music.

POCKETS: Could that be a dragon?

[Roller Guinea vocalizes]

MRS. SCALES: Could be. Let's follow the music and see.

[Yapette grunts]

DESCRIPTION: In the sky, the two clouds watch the Mixmups and Mrs. Scales walk to a small bush.

CLOUDS: Mm?

GIGGLE: It's coming from over there.

[Flute music plays]

DESCRIPTION: A small orange dragon plays a flute.

SPIN: Are you the Magic Music Dragon?

[Dragon vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: The orange dragon shakes their head.

MRS. SCALES: No, this isn't Tim.

[Dragon vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: The small dragon waves and walks away.

SPIN: She was really good, though.

[Rock music plays, music notes chime]

DESCRIPTION: Music notes float over the Mixmups heads.

SPIN: Listen, more music!

POCKETS: Quick, this way.

[Roller Guinea vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: In the sky, the clouds smile at each other.

CLOUDS: Mm?

[Rock music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The Mixmups and Mrs. Scales follow the music note trail to stacks of rocks.

MRS. SCALES: Oh, this might be Tim.

DESCRIPTION: Behind the rocks, two pink dragons play electric guitars.

SPIN: Whoa, they are rocking out.

[The music stops, dragons vocalize, Spin chuckles]

DESCRIPTION: The two dragons wave and walk away.

SPIN: They were so good.

MRS. SCALES: Yes, the Rocking Wingle Dragons are quite a hit around here.

POCKETS: But where is the Magic Music Dragon?

SPIN: Tim, where are you?

[Roller Guinea vocalizes, music taps, music notes chime]

DESCRIPTION: Music notes float over the group’s heads.

MRS. SCALES: Oh.

POCKETS: Is that your dragon?

MRS. SCALES: Quick, let's follow that music and see.

[Roller Guinea vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: They approach a cave.

MRS. SCALES: Now, that sounds like my Tim. Timmy. Timmy-kins!

[Dragon vocalizes]

DESCRIPTION: Tim, a green dragon with pink wings, runs out of the cave and stops beside Mrs. Scales.

MIXMUPS: Wow!

MRS. SCALES: Here he is. It's Tim, the Magic Music Dragon.

[Light music plays, slurp]

DESCRIPTION: Tim licks Mrs. Scales’ face.

MRS. SCALES: Oh, Timmy!

[Both laugh]

GIGGLE: Will he play some music for us?

MRS. SCALES: Of course! You can ask the Magic Dragon to play anything.

POCKETS: Um, Magic Music Dragon, can you please sing like a trumpet?

[Tim vocalizes, inhales, trumpet music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Trumpets float in front of Tim, and the Mixmups imitate playing trumpets.

GIGGLE: Can you do a piano?

[Tim vocalizes, cheerful piano music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Pianos float in front of Tim.

SPIN: Can you do, um, drums?

[Drumming]

DESCRIPTION: Drums float in front of Tim, and the Mixmups imitate playing drums. Yapette and Roller Guinea dance.

POCKETS: Do a ukulele.

[Upbeat ukulele music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Ukuleles float in front of Tim.

GIGGLE: Ooh, do a guitar.

[Guitar music plays, Spin gasps]

DESCRIPTION: Guitars float in front of Tim.

SPIN: Do a violin.

[Violin music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Violins float in front of Tim.

MRS. SCALES: Um—

[Pockets chuckles]

POCKETS: Triangle.

[Tim vocalizes, triangle dings]

DESCRIPTION: Triangles float in front of Tim.

SPIN: Trombone!

[Tim vocalizes, trombone music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Trombones float in front of Tim.

GIGGLE: Bagpipes!

[Tim vocalizes, bagpipe music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Bagpipes float in front of Tim.

POCKETS: Harmonica!

[Tim vocalizes, harmonica music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Harmonicas float in front of Tim, and his head wobbles.

GIGGLE: Tambourine!

[Tim vocalizes, tambourine jingles]

DESCRIPTION: Tambourines float in front of Tim.

MRS. SCALES: Maybe just one more.

SPIN: Xylophone!

[Tim vocalizes, xylophone music plays, thud]

DESCRIPTION: Xylophones float in front of Tim. He shakes and collapses on the ground.

MRS. SCALES: Oh, dear.

SPIN: Why has he stopped?

[Pockets sighs]

POCKETS: We were having so much fun listening to the Magic Music Dragon.

MRS. SCALES: Hm, I wonder if there's anything you can do to help bring back his music.

MIXMUPS: Hm.

[Popping, soft music plays]

DESCRIPTION: In a flashback, trumpets float in front of Tim.

SPIN: First, we asked the Magic Dragon to do a trumpet.

DESCRIPTION: In the flashback, pianos float in front of Tim, and he smiles.

GIGGLE: Then we asked him to do lots more instruments. He looked like he was having fun.

DESCRIPTION: In the flashback, Tim lies on the ground.

POCKET: But then the music stopped.

[Popping, Tim yawns, groans, soft music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The flashback stops. In the present, Tim lies by the cave entrance.

SPIN: Oh, no. Have we broken the dragon?

[Giggle gasps, Tim snores]

GIGGLE: I think maybe we made the Magic Dragon tired with all the instruments we asked him to play.

[Yapette and Roller Guinea vocalize, Tim snores]

GIGGLE: Hm, the Magic Music Dragon gave us lots of music, and it made us feel happy. So, maybe we need to give him some back.

MRS. SCALES: Oh, yeah. Let's give it a go.

DESCRIPTION: In the sky, the clouds smile at each other.

CLOUDS: Mm?

DESCRIPTION: The instrument-playing dragons stand beside the Mixmups.

MRS. SCALES: A-one, two, three, four.

[Upbeat flute music plays, Roller Guinea cheers]

DESCRIPTION: The orange dragon plays her flute, and the Rocking Wingle Dragons play their electric guitars. The Mixmups dance.

TIM: Hm? Hm.

DESCRIPTION: Tim awakens. He smiles and sits.

TIM: Hm?

[Mrs. Scales cheers]

MRS. SCALES: Timmy's back!

[Everyone cheers]

DESCRIPTION: Tim dances to the music. In the sky, the clouds smile.

CLOUDS Mm?

SPIN: We did it. We gave the dragon his voice back because he listened to us, and it made him happy again.

MRS. SCALES: As I say, there's always another way.

[Magic chimes]

DESCRIPTION: The wooden spoon appears, and Spin grabs it.

SPIN: Oh, time to go home.

[Chimes, upbeat music plays, whoosh, flapping]

DESCRIPTION: Spin holds up the wooden spoon, and trees disappear as the mixing box folds back into a box.

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD: Toodle-oh!

DESCRIPTION: Mrs. Scales, as Lucky Loover Bird, waves to the Mixmups. Sparkles lift them and carry them back into the mixing box.

[Upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The magical mixing box reappears in the Mixmups’ living room. The Mixmups float out of the box and land on the couch.

[Bonk, chimes]

DESCRIPTION: The wooden spoon flies out of the box, and Pockets catches it.

GIGGLE: What a magical musical adventure.

SPIN AND POCKETS: Yeah!

[Spin gasps]

DESCRIPTION: Spin points at a trumpet, a kazoo, and two maracas on a nearby table.

SPIN: Musical instruments for us to play.

[Off-key trumpet music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Spin picks up the trumpet, and Pockets picks up the maracas. As Giggle reaches for the kazoo, Spin plays the trumpet beside her ear.

SPIN: Hey, I'm really good.

[Giggle and Pockets giggle]

DESCRIPTION: Giggle and Pockets smile at each other.

POCKETS: I wonder who left those there.

[All play instruments, door creaks, light music plays, jump boings]

DESCRIPTION: They play their instruments. On the hilltop, Lucky Loover Bird puts the recorder back in the tree and closes the small door. They sit on their swing and look down at the Mixmups’ house.

LUCKY LOOVER BIRD: Mixing up adventures near and far, but home is where the Mixmups are. Bye, Mixmups.

[Chimes, cheerful music plays]
