[Title] A.B.C. Singsong
[Opening Credits] By Warren Brown and Adam Goddard.
NARRATOR: About the word prefer.
[Text Reads] Prefer.
DESCRIPTION: In an animation, a man with curly dark green hair, a red nose and an orange shirt smiles.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN: What does prefer mean? Well.
[Upbeat music plays]
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: If you like something better, you prefer it. Prefer is the word that you'd use.
DESCRIPTION: The green-haired man holds chopsticks over a plate of noodles and gestures at a sandwich on another plate. Later, he walks across a field.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: Like I prefer noodles to a sandwich, and I prefer a walk to a snooze.
DESCRIPTION: A dog and a cat sit together. The green-haired man stands beside a turtle.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: Dogs and cats are lovely pets, but I prefer a turtle instead.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN: Who's a good boy?
DESCRIPTION: A man with curly blond hair and a lime green nose smiles and pats his hair. The green-haired man wears a shiny blue bowler hat. In a field, a monkey holds a banana, and a rabbit has a carrot. On a snowy day, the green-haired man wears a tuque, a winter coat, mitts, and shorts. In front of a yellow backdrop, a parrot perches on the man’s arm.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: You might prefer to show off a hairdo, I prefer a hat on my head. I prefer it. Monkeys prefer bananas, and rabbits prefer carrots. I prefer wearing shorts even when it's cold. And when it comes to birds, I prefer parrots.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN: 'Cause they can talk.
PARROT: We can talk.
DESCRIPTION: On a snowy day, the blond-haired man skis down a hill. On a path, the green-haired man wears a helmet as he roller skates.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: Some people prefer to go out skiing, but roller skating is what I'd rather do. How about you? We all have different things we prefer.
[Text Reads] Prefer.
GREEN-HAIRED MAN SINGS: So, what do you prefer when it's up to you?
GREEN-HAIRED MAN: What do you prefer?
