Descriptive Transcript

[Happy music plays, chimes]

DESCRIPTION: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple Colourblocks smile and jump. Green touches white grass, and it turns green. Orange dribbles a white basketball, and it turns orange. Purple touches white flowers, turning them purple.

[Song] Colourblocks, Colourblocks, red and yellow and blue. Colourblocks, Colourblocks, green and purple and orange, too. In a magic world of colours, look what we can do. Colourblocks, Colourblocks, we're mixing it up for you. Colourblocks!

[Title] Colourblocks.

DESCRIPTION: The yellow O in “Blocks” turns into the yellow colourblock.

[Yellow giggles]

[Slide whistle, drumroll plays]

DESCRIPTION: Yellow stands in front of green hills and a blue sky. Yellow backs up, revealing two speakers. In the middle, D.J. Ducky, a rubber ducky, rests on a mixer. Yellow wears a ball cap turned sideways.

YELLOW: Welcome to D.J. Ducky's disco dance floor!

[D.J. Ducky squeaks, the music stops]

DESCRIPTION: Yellow pushes down on D.J. Ducky. Nearby, Blue, Green, Purple, Red, and Orange smile, each wearing a ball cap.

PURPLE: I can see D.J. Ducky, but where's the dance music?

BLUE: And what's with the cool hats?

[Blue chuckles, Yellow chuckles]

YELLOW: You'll see. Now, everyone find their spot around the dance floor.

[D.J. Ducky squeaks]

DESCRIPTION: Yellow picks up D.J. Ducky and faces the other Colourblocks. Between them is a white dance floor with a large circle in the centre, surrounded by six smaller circles.

YELLOW: D.J. Ducky says, "Go around in colour order."

[Yellow laughs, Colourblocks exclaim, giggle, light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The Colourblocks run to the smaller circles around the dance floor.

RED: Exciting! I'll go first.

DESCRIPTION: Red jumps into her circle, and it turns red.

RED: Red.

[The music stops]

ORANGE: Well, I'm like you, Red, so I'll go next.

[Bright music notes play]

DESCRIPTION: Orange steps into her circle, and it turns orange.

ORANGE: Orange.

[Yellow chuckles, arm whooshes]

YELLOW: And I'm like you, Orange, so Yellow goes here.

[Upbeat music notes play]

DESCRIPTION: Yellow steps into his circle, and it turns yellow.

[Music chimes]

DESCRIPTION: Blue steps into a circle, with an empty circle between him and Red, and him and Yellow.

BLUE: This spot has Blue all over it.

[Green giggles, light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Green stands behind the circle between Yellow and Blue.

GREEN: Naturally, I go between you two because...

YELLOW: Yellow and...

BLUE: Blue...

BOTH: Mix to make...

[Whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Green steps on her circle, and it turns green.

GREEN: Green.

[Regal music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Purple stands behind the circle between Blue and Red. He steps into the circle, and it turns purple.

PURPLE: I imagine this must be my purple spot. The royal place between Blue and Red.

[Purple chuckles]

BLUE: Cool. We join up in a colour circle.

GREEN: It's like a wheel. A colour wheel.

[D.J. Ducky squeaks, Drum beat plays]

COLOURBLOCKS: Ooh. Oh. Oh, nice. Yeah.

YELLOW: Who wants to be the first to dance in the middle?

BLUE: I'll go first.

[Upbeat music plays]

COLOURBLOCKS SING: Pick a partner, up to you. Who's it going to be who, who, who.

BLUE: I pick the colour next to me. Green.

[Green giggles]

DESCRIPTION: Blue and Green run onto the large circular dance floor in the middle.

OTHERS: Woohoo! Yay!

[Green and Blue laugh]

DESCRIPTION: Green and Blue dance.

GREEN AND BLUE: Hat swap.

DESCRIPTION: They swap their ball caps.

PURPLE: I love that combination!

YELLOW: They go so well together.

BLUE: That's because blue...

GREEN: And green...

BLUE: Are close colour friends.

BOTH: We're similar colours.

DESCRIPTION: They switch their hats back.

YELLOW: Ooh! Me next.

COLOURBLOCKS SING: Pick a partner, up to you. Who's it going to be who, who, who.

YELLOW: Ooh. Ah. I'll pick the colour next to me, too. Orange. Hello, neighbour.

ORANGE: Oh, hello.

[Orange laughs, whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Orange and Yellow swap hats. They dance and jump.

GREEN: They look good together, too.

YELLOW: That's because yellow...

ORANGE: And orange...

YELLOW: Are close colour friends, too.

BOTH: We're similar colours.

[Slide whistle]

DESCRIPTION: They switch their hats back and step into their circles.

PURPLE: Oh, who's next?

RED: Oh, me, me, me!

COLOURBLOCKS SING: Pick a partner, up to you. Who's it going to be who, who, who.

PURPLE: It's obviously going to be me. I'm next to Red round the wheel.

[Whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Purple spins.

PURPLE: And I have the best royal dance moves.

RED: Uh, I, uh, hmm, pick, uh, Green.

[Everyone gasps, the music stops]

PURPLE: But red's not similar to green at all.

BLUE: Green is on the other side of the colour wheel. You're opposites.

ORANGE: Green is opposite red.

[Footsteps pitter-patter]

DESCRIPTION: Red runs across the dance floor and takes Green’s hand.

RED: But that's who I want. Green.

GREEN: You're sure?

[Upbeat music plays, whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Red and Green dance on the dance floor, wearing each other’s hats.

BLUE: Wow. Their two colours really stand out.

YELLOW: They look so bold together.

ORANGE: They're opposites, but they do go well together.

[Slide whistle]

DESCRIPTION: Red and Green switch hats. Green walks away, and Red winks at her.

RED: Now, I want to pick someone similar. Purple!

PURPLE: Oh, about time.

[Slide whistle, red laughs, whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Purple and Red dance, and switch ball caps. They stop dancing and switch their ball caps again.

YELLOW: Time for the next track.

[Click, energetic music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Yellow pushes a button on a remote control.

COLOURBLOCKS: Woo! Okay. Ooh.

DESCRIPTION: Purple and Yellow run onto the dance floor and dance.

BOTH: Opposites.

PURPLE: Ooh, I see.

YELLOW: Hoo hoo!

DESCRIPTION: Blue and Orange dance.

BOTH: Opposites.

COLOURBLOCKS: Let's go! Similar.

DESCRIPTION: Purple, Blue, and Green dance.

BLUE: Oh, yeah.

COLOURBLOCKS: Similar.

DESCRIPTION: Red, Orange, and Yellow dance.

YELLOW: All right.

ORANGE: Yeah.

COLOURBLOCKS: Let's go!

PURPLE AND YELLOW: Opposites.

DESCRIPTION: Purple and Yellow dance.

[Yellow chuckles]

PURPLE: Woohoo!

RED AND GREEN: Opposites.

[Both giggle]

DESCRIPTION: Red and Green dance.

ORANGE AND BLUE: Opposites.

DESCRIPTION: Orange and Blue dance.

[Everyone cheers]

DESCRIPTION: The Colourblocks stand in the middle, and each extends a hand to the centre. They run back to their small circles.

COLOURBLOCKS: Similar and opposite!

[Everyone laughs, cheers]
