Zoom transforms into a screen that reveals the title, Messy Goes to Okido. Messy jumps beside the screen and smiles.
[Messy sighing]
In a bedroom, Messy sits on the floor working on a puzzle. The episode title reads, Fossil Puzzle. Written by Ian Carney.
Messy says, AH-HAH!
HMM.
AH.
He turns as he spots a puzzle piece behind him.
He says, OH, HELLO!
WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A
MORNING, MAKING A NEW JIGSAW
PUZZLE!
[Messy sighing]
Messy puts the last puzzle piece in place, finishing the puzzle and revealing a dinosaur.
He says, ALL DONE.
HELLO, MR. DINOSAUR!
LOOK AT THOSE TEETH.
[Messy roaring]
[Messy laughing]
Sighing, Messy says, OH, I'D LOVE TO SEE A REAL
DINOSAUR.
MAYBE THERE'S ONE UNDER THE BED!
He looks under a bed with pink blankets.
He says, HMM.
NOPE, NO DINOSAURS HERE.
Messy searches a wicker basket.
He says, AWW, NONE IN HERE EITHER!
WHY HAVE I NEVER SEEN A
DINOSAUR?
AH, WHEN YOU NEED TO KNOW, GO TO
OKIDO!
[Magical music plays]
A green and white tunnel transports Messy to Okido, where he falls through the sky onto spring platforms and off a trampoline onto the ground.
Messy cheers, WHEEE!
He runs down a trail toward a garden where Zoe and Felix walk by with buckets and shovels. Messy does a flip.
He says, WHOO!
Felix says, WHOA!
Zoe says, OH!
[Felix chuckling]
Zoe says, HI, MESSY!
Messy says, HI, FELIX, ZOE!
WHAT'S THIS?
A NEW HAT?
He wears a bucket as a hat.
[Felix chuckling]
Felix says, IT'S MY BUCKET!
WE'RE GOING TO THE BEACH TO MAKE
SANDCASTLES.
Zoe asks, WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME TOO?
Messy says, YES, PLEASE!
I LOVE THE BEACH!
He runs ahead, dropping the bucket into Felix’s hand.
Zoe says, MESSY, UH, IT'S THIS WAY!
Messy turns around and says, LAST ONE THERE IS A
JELLYFISH!
At the beach, he looks out at the ocean.
He says, AH, HOOH-HOO!
WE COULD BUILD A SANDCASTLE
THERE!
OH, NO, THERE!
OH, NO, OVER THERE.
He runs around the sand.
[Seagulls squawking]
Felix and Zoe walk over to a small house.
They say, HI, LOLLY!
Lolly sits on the front deck.
Messy says, HIYA, LOLLY!
OOH, WHAT'S THIS PLACE?
Lolly hops off the deck.
She says, HI, EVERYONE.
IT'S MY NEW BEACH CAFE.
I'M ALL READY TO OPEN UP FOR THE
FIRST TIME.
BUT I CAN'T THINK OF A NAME FOR
THE PLACE.
A sign above the café door is blank. Messy scratches his chin.
He says, HMM.
WHY DON'T YOU CALL IT "THE TASTY
SOCK."
YOU CAN HAVE A BIG PICTURE OF A
SOCK UP THERE.
Lolly says, THAT MIGHT KEEP EVERYONE
AWAY, MESSY.
WELL, EVERYONE EXCEPT YOU.
[Lolly chuckling]
Felix says, WE'LL TRY AND THINK OF A NAME
WHILE WE'RE BUILDING
SANDCASTLES, LOLLY.
Lolly says, OH, THANKS, FELIX!
SEE YOU SOON!
She waves as Messy runs down the beach.
Messy says, RIGHT, WE CAN BUILD A
SANDCASTLE THERE.
NO, THERE.
OH, WHAT ABOUT THERE?
[Messy gasping]
Messy says, OR THERE?
He points to different spots on the beach.
Zoe says, UH, WE'LL BUILD A SANDCASTLE
HERE.
She puts down her bucket and shovel.
She says, RIGHT BY THE SEA.
Messy says, OH, YOU'RE RIGHT, ZOE!
THIS IS THE PERFECT PLACE!
AH-HAH!
DIG, DIG, DIG, DIG, DIG!
He starts digging in the sand.
He says, BUILD, BUILD, BUILD!
DIG, DIG, DIG, DIG.
Later, Felix adds a flag to his tall, detailed sandcastle.
[Felix grunting]
Felix says, MY SANDCASTLE IS FINISHED!
Zoe says, AND MINE!
She kneels beside a sandcastle that looks like her house.
Messy says, I'VE BUILT A MONSTER
SANDCASTLE!
He sticks a flag in the tiny bucket sandcastle that sits on top of a pile of sand, surrounded by other tiny bucket sandcastles. The middle castle sinks into the pile of sand.
[Messy grumbling]
Felix says, LET'S DECORATE THEM WITH
SHELLS AND PEBBLES!
Zoe says, GREAT IDEA, FELIX!
[Messy grunting]
Messy digs deep into the sand.
He says, NOTHING HERE.
He pulls a white, curved, pointed object out of the sand.
He says, OOH!
WHAT'S THIS?
Zoe says, OOH, IT'S LIKE A ROCK.
BUT IT'S A FUNNY SHAPE.
Messy puts the curved object on the sand. Felix places a shell beside it.
He says, IT'S DEFINITELY NOT
A SHELL.
Messy says, THEN WHAT IS IT?
Felix says, IT'S A MYSTERY!
Zoe suggests, LET'S ASK ZIM, ZAM, AND
ZOOM.
THEY'LL HELP US FIND THE ANSWER.
In the cloud ship, Zim and Zam examine the curved object with a magnifying glass.
He says, VERY INTERESTING!
[Zoom chittering]
Zim says, YOU'RE RIGHT, FELIX, IT'S NOT A
ROCK OR A SHELL.
IT'S SOMETHING VERY OLD.
MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD!
Messy says, WHOA.
THAT'S OLDER THAN THE OLDEST
SOCK UNDER MY BED!
Zam says, IT'S CALLED A FOSSIL.
Zoe says, A WHAT-SIL?
Zam says, LET ME EXPLAIN.
Zoom transforms into a screen and displays an animated forest and river and with volcanos and mountains in the distance.
Zam explains, FOSSILS ARE MADE WHEN A PLANT OR
AN ANIMAL FALLS ON SOFT LAND
AND DOESN'T MOVE AGAIN.
USUALLY SOMEWHERE NEAR WATER.
A dinosaur with a long neck lowers their head toward a fallen leaf.
Zim says, THIS PLANT OR ANIMAL IS
THEN COVERED OVER WITH MUD OR
CLAY AND SAND.
Layers of mud, clay and sand cover the dinosaur and leaf.
Zam explains, OVER MILLIONS OF YEARS, THE
ORIGINAL OBJECT FADES.
The leaf turns grey.
Zim says, THE WATER DRIES UP, BUT THE
MINERALS FORM THE SHAPE OF THE
PLANT OR ANIMAL THAT WAS THERE.
THEN THIS SHAPE GOES REALLY
HARD.
[Zim buzzing]
Zim says, HARD AS A ROCK.
Zam says, SO, WHAT YOU ARE LEFT WITH IS
A FOSSIL.
A ROCK VERSION OF WHAT FELL
THERE MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO.
Messy cheers, BA-LA-BA-LA-BOOM-BOOM!
He picks up the curved object.
He says, THE FOSSIL OF A LEAF IS THE
PERFECT THING TO DECORATE A
SANDCASTLE.
Zim says, I DON'T THINK THIS IS A LEAF,
MESSY.
Felix says, IT'S CURVED, MAYBE IT'S THE
FOSSIL OF A BANANA.
Zoe says, OR A BOOMERANG!
Zam says, UH, NO, I DON'T THINK IT'S
ANY OF THOSE THINGS.
A lightbulb appears on Zim’s screen.
Zim says, LIGHTBULB MOMENT, LIGHTBULB
MOMENT!
MAYBE IT'S JUST A LITTLE PIECE
OF SOMETHING BIGGER!
Zam says, AH, YES!
Zoom shows an animation of Zim and Zam digging through the layers of mud, clay, and sand.
Zam says, SCIENTISTS CALLED
"PALEONTOLOGISTS" DIG FOR
FOSSILS AND MATCH THE PIECES
TOGETHER LIKE A PUZZLE.
Zim and Zam discover fossils deep in the ground.
Zim says, THEN THEY CAN WORK OUT WHAT
IT USED TO BE, ALL THOSE
MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO.
The fossils come together to form a dinosaur.
[Dinosaur roaring]
Messy says, OH, I'M GOOD AT PUZZLES!
He looks at the curved object, the fossil, excitedly.
Felix says, SO, WE SHOULD TRY TO FIND THE
REST OF THE FOSSIL PIECES NEAR
WHERE WE FOUND THIS ONE.
Zam says, I'VE GOT JUST THE THING TO
HELP US DIG.
Messy says, OKAY, LET'S OKI-GO!
Back on the beach, he digs in the sand. The others watch.
Messy says, I FOUND THE FOSSIL SOMEWHERE
AROUND HERE.
Zam says, SO, LET'S GIVE MY DRILLER
GRABBER MOLE A TRY, THEN.
Her Driller Grabber Mole is a large robot machine on wheels with a large drill head and grabber arms.
Zam asks, WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME?
Messy says, OH, ME, ME, ME, ME!
Zoe says, ME!
Felis says, OH, ME TOO!
Zim says, NO THANKS, I'LL STAY HERE.
Zam says, THEN ALL ABOARD!
In the Driller Grabber Mole, Zoe, and Messy sit at one set of controls, while Felix and Zam sit behind them at another set of controls. Messy’s eyes widen as he looks at buttons beside a lever and microphone.
He says, OH, BUTTON...
Zam says, GO ON, MESSY.
Messy cheers, YES!
He presses a green button, activating the drill on the Driller Grabber Mole. The Drill lowers toward the sand.
[Whirring]
Zim says, HAPPY HUNTING!
[Cheerful music plays]
The Driller Grabber Mole drills a tunnel, taking the team inside underground and through rock under the
beach.
[Drilling
Zoe asks, CAN ANYONE SEE ANYTHING?
Messy says, I CAN SEE SAND!
AND A WORM.
He points to a worm on the tunnel wall.
He says, OH, AND SOME MORE SAND.
AND, UH, ANOTHER WORM.
[Zoe giggling]
Zoe asks, CAN ANYONE SEE ANY FOSSIL
PIECES?
Felix says, OH, THERE'S SOMETHING UP
AHEAD!
LOOK AT THAT!
He points out a side window at a bone shaped fossil in the wall. One of the grabber arms grabs the fossil.
[Whirring]
The fossil is dropped into Zoe’s hands.
Zoe says, YEP, ANOTHER PIECE OF FOSSIL!
Messy says, OH, THERE'S ANOTHER PIECE!
Felix says, AND ANOTHER ONE!
He and Messy point to fossils in the tunnel.
Zam says, DON'T WORRY, MY GRABBERS
WILL GRAB THEM ALL!
The grabbers collect fossils as the team continues down the tunnel.
[Alarm blaring]
The Driller Grabber Mole turns upside down.
Messy cheers, WHOO-HOO-HOO!
Zam says, OOPS, SORRY, I PRESSED THE
UPSIDE DOWN BUTTON.
The Driller Grabber Mole turns right side up and continues drilling a new tunnel, forming a bone shaped path underground, uncovering a large group of fossils.
[Zoom buzzing]
On the beach, Zim relaxes in a beach chair with Zoom hovering nearby.
Zim says, I WONDER HOW THEY'RE DOING
DOWN THERE?
[Rumbling]
The Driller Grabber Mole drills through the ground beside Zim, blowing sand around.
Zim says, RATHER WELL, IT SEEMS!
On the beach, Messy stands beside a pile of fossils.
[Zoom beeping]
Zam says, WE PICKED UP ALL THE FOSSIL
PIECES WE COULD FIND.
Messy says, HMM, I CAN'T TELL WHAT IT IS.
Zim says, THAT'S BECAUSE THE PIECES ARE
JUST IN A BIG PILE.
WE'LL HAVE TO PUT THEM IN THE
RIGHT ORDER TO GET A TRUE
PICTURE.
Messy says, AH-HAH, JUST LIKE MY JIGSAW!
Zoe grabs one of the fossils.
She says, COME ON, LET'S GET GOING!
The group start to put the fossils together.
[Messy grumbling]
Felix says, UM, OH, YES, IT FITS!
LOOK AT THIS!
He holds two similar fossils together.
Zim says, UM, YEAH, THAT LOOKS GOOD.
He holds a bone shaped fossil and a curved fossil together. Kneeling on the sand, the group works on fitting together the fossils.
[Chattering]
Felix says, OH PERFECT.
I THINK IT GOES HERE.
[Messy gasping]
[Messy giggling]
Laid out on the sand, the fossils look like a smiling creature with big ears.
Zoe says, HUH?
[Felix laughing]
[Zoom beeping]
The group rearranges the fossils into a new triangular shape.
Zim says, HMM, LOOKS LIKE A BIG
CHICKEN.
[Squawking]
[Zoom chattering]
Zoom shakes their head.
Zam sighs, OH... OH DEAR.
THIS IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT
LOOKS.
Messy says, JUST A MINUTE!
He picks up two fossils, a head jaw, putting them together.
He says, THESE TWO PIECES GO TOGETHER!
Zoe looks thoughtful.
She says, I'VE GOT IT!
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!
[Inspirational music plays]
[Zoe humming]
Zoe lays out the different fossils, forming the shape of a creature.
Zoe says, THAT BIT GOES OVER THERE.
Messy puts down a fossil.
[Messy gasping]
Messy says, I CAN SEE WHAT IT IS NOW!
Everyone says, IT'S A DINOSAUR!
Messy says, I WAS LOOKING FOR A DINOSAUR
BEFORE BUT I COULDN'T FIND ONE.
Zim says, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY LIVED IN
OKIDO MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO,
BEFORE THE CLIMATE CHANGED AND
MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO
LIVE HERE.
Zoom shows an animation of a dinosaur walking through different climates.
Zam says, IN FACT, THE ONLY WAY WE
KNOW ABOUT THEM IS FROM THE
FOSSILS THAT WERE LEFT BEHIND!
The animated dinosaur turns into bone that then drop into a pond.
[Splashing]
Messy says, SO THAT'S WHY I'VE NEVER SEEN
A DINOSAUR.
He adds his curved fossil to the fossils on the beach.
He says, THEY ALL LIVED A LONG TIME AGO!
Felix says, OH, OH NO!
THE SEA IS COMING IN AND WASHING
AWAY OUR SANDCASTLES!
A wave rolls onto the beach toward the sandcastles.
Zoe says, OH, AND IT'S GOING TO WASH
AWAY OUR FOSSIL!
Felix says, WHAT IF WE PUT IT SOMEWHERE
WHERE EVERYBODY COULD SEE IT?
Zoe says, I KNOW EXACTLY THE PLACE!
COME ON, HELP ME MOVE THE
FOSSIL!
Later, the fossil dinosaur stands on the roof of Lolly’s beach café. Her previously bare sign shows the dinosaur’s fossil head.
Lolly says, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
THE FOSSIL IS THE PERFECT SIGN
FOR MY BEACH CAFE, AND IT'S
GIVEN ME A GREAT IDEA FOR A NAME
FOR THE PLACE!
Messy asks, THE STINKY SOCK?
Lolly says, UH-UH.
She shakes her head.
She says, THE HUNGRY DINOSAUR!
[Zim laughing]
Zim says, AH, YES!
[Zim giggling]
Zoe says, WE'LL EAT HERE EVERY TIME WE
COME TO THE BEACH.
Felix nods.
Messy says, SPEAKING OF WHICH, IT'S TIME
FOR ME TO GO HOME!
THERE'S A DELICIOUS SOCK WAITING
FOR ME.
I'LL SEE YOU ALL SOON!
He waves to his friends.
They all say, BYE, MESSY!
They wave as Messy returns to his dinosaur puzzle.
[Messy sighing]
Messy says, SO, WE DON'T SEE DINOSAURS
BECAUSE THEY LIVED A LONG TIME
AGO, AND WE KNOW ABOUT THEM
BECAUSE THERE ARE FOSSILS LEFT
BEHIND TO SHOW US.
HAH!
He runs over to a sock by a window.
He says, MAYBE I SHOULD LEAVE MY SOCK FOR
A LONG TIME SO IT WILL CHANGE
INTO A FOSSIL.
Messy looks at the sock thoughtfully.
He says, HMM.
NAH, I DON'T THINK SO.
He eats the sock.
[Messy chomping]
Messy says, DEEE-LISH!
BYE-BYE!
He waves.
[Upbeat music plays]

Zim says, RATHER WELL, IT SEEMS!
On the beach, Messy stands beside a pile of fossils.
[Zoom beeping]
Zam says, WE PICKED UP ALL THE FOSSIL
PIECES WE COULD FIND.
Messy says, HMM, I CAN'T TELL WHAT IT IS.
Zim says, THAT'S BECAUSE THE PIECES ARE
JUST IN A BIG PILE.
WE'LL HAVE TO PUT THEM IN THE
RIGHT ORDER TO GET A TRUE
PICTURE.
Messy says, AH-HAH, JUST LIKE MY JIGSAW!
Zoe grabs one of the fossils.
She says, COME ON, LET'S GET GOING!
The group start to put the fossils together.
[Messy grumbling]
Felix says, UM, OH, YES, IT FITS!
LOOK AT THIS!
He holds two similar fossils together.
Zim says, UM, YEAH, THAT LOOKS GOOD.
He holds a bone shaped fossil and a curved fossil together. Kneeling on the sand, the group works on fitting together the fossils.
[Chattering]
Felix says, OH PERFECT.
I THINK IT GOES HERE.
[Messy gasping]
[Messy giggling]
Laid out on the sand, the fossils look like a smiling creature with big ears.
Zoe says, HUH?
[Felix laughing]
[Zoom beeping]
The group rearranges the fossils into a new triangular shape.
Zim says, HMM, LOOKS LIKE A BIG
CHICKEN.
[Squawking]
[Zoom chattering]
Zoom shakes their head.
Zam sighs, OH... OH DEAR.
THIS IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT
LOOKS.
Messy says, JUST A MINUTE!
He picks up two fossils, a head jaw, putting them together.
He says, THESE TWO PIECES GO TOGETHER!
Zoe looks thoughtful.
She says, I'VE GOT IT!
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!
[Inspirational music plays]
[Zoe humming]
Zoe lays out the different fossils, forming the shape of a creature.
Zoe says, THAT BIT GOES OVER THERE.
Messy puts down a fossil.
[Messy gasping]
Messy says, I CAN SEE WHAT IT IS NOW!
Everyone says, IT'S A DINOSAUR!
Messy says, I WAS LOOKING FOR A DINOSAUR
BEFORE BUT I COULDN'T FIND ONE.
Zim says, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY LIVED IN
OKIDO MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO,
BEFORE THE CLIMATE CHANGED AND
MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO
LIVE HERE.
Zoom shows an animation of a dinosaur walking through different climates.
Zam says, IN FACT, THE ONLY WAY WE
KNOW ABOUT THEM IS FROM THE
FOSSILS THAT WERE LEFT BEHIND!
The animated dinosaur turns into bone that then drop into a pond.
[Splashing]
Messy says, SO THAT'S WHY I'VE NEVER SEEN
A DINOSAUR.
He adds his curved fossil to the fossils on the beach.
He says, THEY ALL LIVED A LONG TIME AGO!
Felix says, OH, OH NO!
THE SEA IS COMING IN AND WASHING
AWAY OUR SANDCASTLES!
A wave rolls onto the beach toward the sandcastles.
Zoe says, OH, AND IT'S GOING TO WASH
AWAY OUR FOSSIL!
Felix says, WHAT IF WE PUT IT SOMEWHERE
WHERE EVERYBODY COULD SEE IT?
Zoe says, I KNOW EXACTLY THE PLACE!
COME ON, HELP ME MOVE THE
FOSSIL!
Later, the fossil dinosaur stands on the roof of Lolly’s beach café. Her previously bare sign shows the dinosaur’s fossil head.
Lolly says, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
THE FOSSIL IS THE PERFECT SIGN
FOR MY BEACH CAFE, AND IT'S
GIVEN ME A GREAT IDEA FOR A NAME
FOR THE PLACE!
Messy asks, THE STINKY SOCK?
Lolly says, UH-UH.
She shakes her head.
She says, THE HUNGRY DINOSAUR!
[Zim laughing]
Zim says, AH, YES!
[Zim giggling]
Zoe says, WE'LL EAT HERE EVERY TIME WE
COME TO THE BEACH.
Felix nods.
Messy says, SPEAKING OF WHICH, IT'S TIME
FOR ME TO GO HOME!
THERE'S A DELICIOUS SOCK WAITING
FOR ME.
I'LL SEE YOU ALL SOON!
He waves to his friends.
They all say, BYE, MESSY!
They wave as Messy returns to his dinosaur puzzle.
[Messy sighing]
Messy says, SO, WE DON'T SEE DINOSAURS
BECAUSE THEY LIVED A LONG TIME
AGO, AND WE KNOW ABOUT THEM
BECAUSE THERE ARE FOSSILS LEFT
BEHIND TO SHOW US.
HAH!
He runs over to a sock by a window.
He says, MAYBE I SHOULD LEAVE MY SOCK FOR
A LONG TIME SO IT WILL CHANGE
INTO A FOSSIL.
Messy looks at the sock thoughtfully.
He says, HMM.
NAH, I DON'T THINK SO.
He eats the sock.
[Messy chomping]
Messy says, DEEE-LISH!
BYE-BYE!
He waves.
[Upbeat music plays]
