Pip: Posy!
[Both giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy grab each other’s hands and dance together. Pip wears a long-sleeved white-and-green striped shirt and jeans. Posy wears a blue-and-red T-shirt with a blue-and-white polka-dot skirt. Pip carries Posy on his back. Posy tosses her toy frog, Froggy, high in the air. She catches Froggy as Pip’s toy pig, Piggy, lands in Pip’s hand.
Pip: Oh!
[Both giggle]
Posy: Come on!
Pip and Posy: Let’s play!
[Both giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy run together.

Description: In the Playing Spot, Jamila, Zac, Posy, Pip, and Frankie sit at a table with paper scraps, crayons, and clay containers.
Pip: Ha! Who's finished drawing their wish?
Frankie, Zac, and Jamila: Me!
Posy: Nearly. Uh, now me!
[Pip giggles]
Pip: Let's stick them on the wishing tree.
[Posy giggles, tape scrapes]
Description: Pip stands and gestures at a tree picture on the wall. Posy takes a piece of tape, and Zac grabs it.
Posy: Ah.
Zac: Thanks!
Posy: Hey!
[Posy laughs, Zac grunts, rustling, Jamila hums]
Description: Zac tapes his yellow leaf-shaped paper to the tree, and Jamila tapes a green maple leaf to the trunk.
Jamila: There you go, little wish-y.
Description: Jamila flaps her arms and walks to the table.
Jamila: Flutter by, butterflies. I'm going to give my crumbs to the birds.
[Jamila hums, tape rustles, tapping]
Description: Frankie tapes her red leaf to the tree, then pats it.
Frankie: Oh, I hope my wish comes true.
[Zac sighs]
Zac: Waiting's boring. Let's play!
Description: Zac pulls Frankie away from the tree.
Frankie: Oh.
[Zac and Frankie laugh]
Description: Pip and Posy watch Zac and Frankie run to the front door.
[The music stops]
Posy: Ooh, what did you wish for?
[Rustling]
Description: Pip shows Posy his leaf with a drawing of a red apple on it.
Pip: I wished for an apple.
[Pip sighs]
Description: Pip gestures at a red apple on a plate on the table.
Pip: But you've got the last one.
[Posy gasps, giggles, rustle]
Description: Posy shows Pip her leaf with a drawing of a rice cake with a bite out of it.
Posy: I wished for a rice cake, but you got the last one!
[Posy and Pip laugh, both gasp, giggle, upbeat music plays]
Description: Pip and Posy pick up their plates.
Pip and Posy: One, two, three, swapsies!
[Posy and Pip laugh, crunching, Posy gasps]
Description: Pip and Posy switch plates. He takes the apple, and Posy takes the rice cake. They both munch their snacks.
Posy: Pip, we made two wishes come true at the same time!
Pip: Yeah!
[Posy giggles]
Posy: Let's make the others' wishes come true, too. We can be the, um, wishing fairies!
[Upbeat music plays]
Pip: Oh! Um, uh, whatever it takes, we can do. Wishing fairies, uh, make wishes come true.
[Posy giggles]
Zac: Wishing fairies?
[Zac chuckles]
Zac: You'll never make my wish come true.
[Pip and Posy gasp, Pip giggles, tape rustles]
Description: Pip takes Zac’s wish off the tree and turns it over, revealing a red toy car.
Pip: Uh, a red car?
Zac: Yep. I really want to play with a red car.
Description: Posy points to a red car with big wheels on a bookcase.
Posy: You mean, like that one?
[Posy giggles, Zac gasps]
Zac: I can't believe it! My wish came true! Thanks, wishing fairies!
Description: Zac flies the car through the air.
Zac: Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom...
Frankie: Um, wishing fairies, do you think you can make my wish come true, too?
Posy: Ooh, let's see!
Description: Pip takes the red leaf off the tree, and Posy turns it over, revealing a purple blob.
Posy: Um, you wished for a purple blob?
[Frankie laughs, the music stops]
Sort of. I want to make a mini purple dino, but there isn't any purple clay.
Pip: Um, I'm not sure how we can make that wish come true.
[Pip gasps]
Description: Pip looks at the red, blue, and green containers of clay.
Pip: You could make a green purple dino.
[Light music plays, Posy gasps]
Posy: Oh! I know! Pip, take some of this.
[Upbeat music plays]
Description: Posy gives Pip the blue clay container.
Pip: Huh?
[Posy laughs, lids tap, clay squelches]
Description: Posy picks up the red clay container, and she and Pip put the container lids on the table. Both take clay out of their containers, and Posy reaches out, with the clay on her palm, and shakes Pip’s hand.
Posy: Hi, Pippity Pip. Nice to meet you.
[Pip giggles, clay squelches]
Pip: Posy, what are you doing?
Posy: Squishing, because blue and red makes...
Description: Posy takes the purple clay with red and blue edges and offers it to Frankie.
Posy: Tada!
[Frankie gasps]
Frankie: Purple clay! You made my wish come true! Thanks, wishing fairies.
[Posy and Pip laugh, clay squelches]
Description: Frankie sits at the table and shapes the clay.
Pip: The wishing fairies have done it again.
[Pip giggles]
Posy: Yay! Only Jamila's wish to go.
[Posy and Pip laugh, rustling]
Description: Pip takes Jamila’s wish off the tree.
Posy: Ooh.
[Tap]
Description: Pip flips Jamila’s leaf over, revealing a drawing of Jamila surrounded by birds.
Pip and Posy: Huh?
[The music ends]
Description: Posy looks out through the open patio door and finds Jamila on the grass outside.
Posy: Um, Jamila, we want to make your wish come true.
Description: Posy and Pip walk out onto the porch.
Jamila: Ooh, yes, please!
[Pip laughs]
Pip: But we, uh, don't really know what it is.
Jamila: Oh, it's simple. I wished I could fly with the birds.
Pip: F-fly?
[Bird chirps]
Jamila: Yep. I'd love to be surrounded by all my flappy friends.
Description: Jamila flaps her arms and skips across the grass.
Jamila: Flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap!
[Posy giggles]
Pip: Posy, we can't make that wish come true.
Posy: There must be a way.
[Upbeat music plays]
Posy: Whatever it takes, we can do. Wishing fairies make wishes come true.
[Posy laughs]
Pip: But how do we get Jamila whooshing up high in the air?
Posy: Hmm.
[Posy gasps, wings flap, swing squeaks]
Description: Later, a crow lands on the top bar of a swing set as Jamila sits on a swing. Pip stands behind her and Posy stands in front of the other swing.
Jamila: Hmm.
Posy: Ready, Pip? Now, push!
[Pip grunts, swing squeaks, Jamila laughs]
Posy: Does it feel like you're flying with the birds yet, Jamila?
Jamila: Oh, is that what you're trying to do?
[Pip sighs, swing squeaks]
Description: Pip stops pushing.
Pip: It's not working. Even my biggest pushes aren't high enough.
[The music stops]
Posy: Hmm.
[Posy gasps, upbeat music plays]
Posy: You're right. Let's go higher!
Description: Jamila sits at the top of a slide, and Posy and Pip stand on the grass nearby.
Posy: You must feel like you're flying with the birds now!
Jamila: Hmm. Not really.
Pip: It's no good, Posy. She can't fly. You need wings for that.
[Posy gasps]
Posy: Wings! Great idea, Wishing Fairy Pip.
Pip: Huh?
Posy giggles, Pip sighs]
Description: Later, Jamila walks out of the Playing Spot wearing a bird beak and paper tied around her arms. Posy walks with her hands on Jamila’s shoulders, and Pip walks behind them with slumped shoulders.
Posy: Okay, Jamila. One, two, three, take off!
Jamila: Uh...
[Jamila pants]
Description: Jamila flaps her arms.
[Music speeds up]
Posy: Flap harder. You can do it!
Pip: Posy, it's not going to—
Posy: Now, fly!
[Jamila pants]
Description: Jamila steps off the porch, flapping her arms. She opens her eyes, looks down, then stops, standing on the grass.
Jamila: Oh. It didn't work.
[The music stops]
Posy: Oh.
[Grass rustles, insect chitters]
Description: Pip and Posy step onto the grass.
Pip: See? I've been trying to tell you. We can't make Jamila's wish come true. It's-- it's impossible!
Jamila: Hmm. Thanks for trying, wishing fairies. Maybe one day I'll be surrounded by my flappy friends.
[Jamila sighs, grass rustles]
Description: Jamila walks back into the Playing Spot.
Posy: Oh, Pip, you're right.
[Posy sighs, rustle, bird sings]
Description: Posy sits on the edge of the porch.
Posy: I was sure we could make Jamila's wish come true, but I was being silly. It is impossible.
Pip: Well, I-- I didn't mean impossible impossible.
[Posy sighs]
Posy: I guess wishing fairies can't always make wishes come true.
Pip: There must be something we can do. Um...
[Pigeon coos, wings flap, Pip gasps, upbeat music plays]
Description: Pigeons peck at Jamila’s crumbs.
Pip: Posy, Jamila said she wanted to be surrounded by her flappy friends, right?
[Posy sighs]
Posy: Yeah, but she can't fly.
Pip: She doesn't have to.
[Pip giggles]
Posy: Huh?
Pip: If we can't get Jamila up to the birds, let's bring the birds down to Jamila instead.
[Cooing, cawing, Posy gasps, giggles]
Description: Posy watches a crow land beside the crumbs. Later, Posy leads Jamila through the patio doors. Jamila has her eyes squeezed shut.
Posy: Yes.
Jamila: Um, do you want me to try to fly again?
[Seeds rattle]
Description: Pip pours bird food into an empty bird bath.
Pip: Not this time.
[Pip and Posy giggle]
Posy and Pip: Open your eyes!
[Jamila gasps]
Description: Birds perch on the edge of the bird bath and stand on the grass eating from bowls around the lawn.
Jamila: My flappy friends!
[Jamila laughs, bird calls]
Description: Jamila flaps her arms and walks to the birds. She turns and looks at Pip and Posy.
Jamila: Thanks, wishing fairies. You did make my wish come true.
[Pip and Posy giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy look at Jamila’s drawing of herself surrounded by birds, then watch her flap her arms while the birds eat.
Jamila: Flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap.
Pip: Whatever it takes, we can do.
Posy and Pip: Wishing fairies make wishes come true!
[Everyone laughs]
