Pip: Posy!
[Both giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy grab each other’s hands and dance together. Pip wears a long-sleeved white-and-green striped shirt and jeans. Posy wears a blue-and-red T-shirt with a blue-and-white polka-dot skirt. Pip carries Posy on his back. Posy tosses her toy frog, Froggy, high in the air. She catches Froggy as Pip’s toy pig, Piggy, lands in Pip’s hand.
Pip: Oh!
[Both giggle]
Posy: Come on!
Pip and Posy: Let’s play!
[Both giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy run together.
[Title: Pip and Posy]
[Upbeat music plays, thumps]
Description: In the park, Pip and Posy walk in a field dotted with fallen leaves, seeds and nuts. Pip kneels, picks up a nut, and drops it into a purple cup with white polka dots.
Pip: Hmm. Bloop.
Description: Posy runs past Pip, carrying a red cup with white polka dots. She picks up a seed and drops it into her cup.
Posy: Look. A twirl-y seed. Perfect for our autumn-y picture.
[Both laugh]
Description: Zac sneaks up behind Posy.
Zac: Rah!
[Pip and Posy shout, laugh]
Posy: Hi, Zac.
Description: Zac stands beside a tent-shaped stick den. His blue bike leans on the ground near a large pile of leaves.
Posy: Oh, wow. Nice den.
[Rustling]
Description: Zac sits in his den.
Zac: Thanks. I made it myself, from sticks. Look. You can sit in it, snooze in it, run around it.
[Pip and Posy giggle, rustling, bike clicks]
Description: Zac runs in a circle around his den. He picks up his bike and rides it past sticks scattered on the grass.
Zac: Oh. I said I'd fetch Frankie. We're going to read comics by my den. You can play it in while I'm gone!
Description: Pip waves to Zac.
Pip: Thanks, Zac!
[Both laugh, tap, the music stops]
Description: Posy puts down her cup, sits in the den, and pretends to flip pancakes.
Posy: Hey, Pip. Do you like my new house? I'm making pancakes. Oop!
[Pip laughs, cup rustles]
Description: Pip puts his cup on the grass.
Pip: My turn. It's not a house anymore. It's a... rocket ship!
Posy: Yeah! Climb aboard, Astronaut Pip.
[Pip laughs, grunts, rustling, birds chirp]
Description: Pip tries to crawl past Posy into the den.
Pip: Um... uh... uh... mm...
[Pip sighs]
Description: Pip sits on his bottom and tries sliding past Posy. He moves back outside.
Pip: Zac's den isn't big enough for both of us.
Description: Posy sits in front of the den.
Posy: Aw.
[Posy gasps, upbeat music plays]
Posy: I know! Let's build our own den, big enough for two!
Description: Pip stands and looks around.
Pip: Yeah! We can build it over there!
[Rustling]
Description: Pip picks up sticks.
Pip: Quick! Let's pick some sticks!
[Both laugh, wings flap]
Description: In a nearby tree, a crow puts a twig in a nest. Below, Pip and Posy gather sticks.
Pip: Uh...
[Grunts, rustling]
Description: Posy picks up a long stick and a twig. She looks at both, then throws the twig over her shoulder.
Posy: Uh... Ah.
[Crow caws, flapping, tap, birds sing, sticks clatter, the music stops]
Description: The crow picks up the stick and discovers a blue, grey, and white bird pulling on the other side. Pip and Posy add sticks to their tall den by a tree.
Posy: Hmm. Still a few gap-y bits. We need more sticks.
Pip: Hmm. I think we've used them all.
Posy: Um...
[Posy gasps, both giggle]
Description: Posy leads Pip to sticks on the grass beside Zac’s den.
Posy: Stick alert!
[Pip laughs]
Description: Pip and Posy look down at the sticks.
Pip: Do you think Zac would mind us taking them?
Posy: Well, they're not really part of his den.
Pip: You're right.
[Both grunting, sticks clatter, giggling, wings flap, crow caws, blue bird chitters, the music stops]
Description: Pip and Posy pick up the sticks and carry them back to their den. Nearby, the two birds pull the twig between them. They both fall, look at each other, and then grab an end of the stick and pull.
Pip: Ready for a space adventure!
[Posy laughs]
Posy: We can't go yet. There's nothing to control the rocket with. We need some sticky levers.
Pip: But there aren't any more sticks.
[Light music plays]
Description: Pip’s eyes slowly move to his right, towards Zac’s den.
Pip: Apart from those.
Description: A stick leans against the outside of Zac’s den and a second stick lies in the grass beside it.
Pip: They're not really doing anything, are they?
Posy: Nah. He won't even notice they're gone.
[Grass rustles, Posy giggles, sticks tap, laughing grunt, rustle, upbeat music plays]
Description: Posy picks up the sticks and runs to the new den. She kneels and drives the sticks into the ground in front of her.
Posy: Boop. Boop. Astronaut Pip, prepare for blast off!
[Both laugh, rustling]
Description: Pip slides into the den beside Posy.
Pip: Aye-aye, Astronaut Posy. Setting a course for the moon. Oh.
[Pip laughs]
Description: Pip looks up.
Pip: I can't see where it is. Oh!
[Rustling]
Description: Pip crawls out of the den and stands.
Pip: What if our rocket had a-- a-- a giant lookout tower?
Posy: Brilliant! Yeah!
[Posy laughs, both groan, light music plays]
Description: Pip and Posy look at the grass, then at each other.
Pip and Posy: Um... Hmm.
Description: They both look at a stick in the middle of Zac’s den.
Posy: Oh, that stick would be perfect.
Pip: I know, but it's right in the middle of Zac's den.
[Both sigh, upbeat music plays]
Posy: Unless we just... borrow it?
Pip: Yeah. We'll-- we'll put it straight back afterwards.
[Posy gasps, giggles]
Pip: Come on!
[Posy laughs, Pip grunts, clatter, rustling]
Description: Pip and Posy hold the stick and walk towards their den.
Posy: Oh, this is going to look so great.
[Sticks rattle]
Description: Pip and Posy stop walking.
Pip and Posy: Huh?
[Sticks rattle, clatter, Pip and Posy gasp, serious music plays]
Description: Zac’s den falls apart.
Pip: Oh, no!
[Bike bell rings, Zac gasps, the music stops, birds sing]
Description: Zac stops his bike beside the pile of sticks.
Zac: M-m-my den!
[Thunk, bird sings, Frankie gasps]
Description: Pip and Posy drop the stick as Frankie arrives.
Posy: Oh, oh, we're sorry! We were just borrowing this stick and, uh,--
Pip: It was an accident!
[Bike clanks, sticks rustle]
Description: Zac drops his bike and picks up a stick from the pile.
Zac: But-- but—
[Zac gasps, serious music plays]
Description: Zac glances at Pip and Posy’s den.
Zac: You've been taking my sticks to make your own den? How could you? You-- You've ruined it! Huh!
[Footsteps rustle]
Description: Zac runs away.
Frankie: I, um, I better see if he's okay.
[Thump, footsteps rustle]
Description: Frankie puts the comics down and follows Zac.
[The music stops]
Posy: Oh, Pip. I feel bad. We shouldn't have taken this stick.
Pip: We shouldn't have taken any of Zac's sticks.
Posy: Mm.
[Pip sighs, bird chirps]
Posy: All the sticks are still here. We can rebuild it for him.
[Rustling]
Description: Pip picks up the long support stick.
Pip: You-- You're right. Let's rebuild it, as good as new!
[Upbeat music plays, sticks clatter, Posy laughs, sigh, grunt]
Description: Pip and Posy lean sticks together. They move sticks from their den to Zac’s, running past the two birds pulling on the twig. Pip and Posy look at the finished den.
Pip: Zac's den done.
Posy: Hmm. What if we make it even more Zac?
[Both laugh, rustling, bike wheel rattles, Posy grunts, both giggle]
Description: Pip grabs sticks from his den and lays them on the grass. He pushes the bike between the sticks and parks it with the wheel between the den stick walls. Posy rolls a tree round towards the den as Pip arrives with two cushions and a tennis ball. Pip shows Posy a string decorated with two acorns, a chestnut, and leaves.
Posy: Ooh.
Description: Posy looks at her red cup and a ball of string.
Posy: Hmm.
[The music stops, Zac moans softly, water splashes, bird sings, footsteps rustle]
Description: At a small pond with a fence around it, Frankie puts her left hand on Zac’s shoulder as he throws a stone into the water. Zac rests his chin on his hands on the fence as Pip and Posy approach.
Pip: We're really sorry we broke your den, Zac.
Posy: Really, really sorry. But we've got something to show you that might cheer you up.
[Zac sighs]
Frankie: You could take a quick look.
Zac: Hmm.
[Zac sighs, upbeat music plays, rustling]
Description: Zac holds his hands over his eyes, and Pip walks beside him with his right hand on Zac’s shoulder.
Zac: Can I look now?
[Pip giggles, Franke gasps]
Pip: Yeah!
Posy: Open your eyes!
[Zac gasps]
Description: Zac moves his hands and opens his eyes. He runs to his den, with nuts and leaves strung around the top and the bike parked in an opening. In front, the comics sit on the tree round with a cushion on each side. Posy’s red cup has a string attached to the bottom.
Zac: My den! It looks just like before, but fancy.
[Posy and Frankie laugh, patting]
Description: Pip pats the bike seat.
Pip: Now, you've got your very own parking space.
Description: Posy and Frankie stand by the cushions.
Posy: And look. A comic-reading spot for you and Frankie.
[Frankie gasps, pages rustle]
Description: Frankie kneels on a cushion and picks up a comic.
Frankie: Ooh.
[Zac laughs]
Zac: I love it! But, uh, what's this thingy?
[Pip and Posy laugh, thudding]
Description: Zac picks up the red cup and shakes it. Pip and Posy run to their den and pick up Pip’s purple cup at the other end of the string, and Posy speaks into it. Zac holds the red cup by his ear.
Posy: Hello, Zac and Frankie!
[Zac gasps]
Description: Zac speaks into the telephone cup.
Zac [shouts]: It's a telephone!
[Pip and Posy laugh]
Zac: My den's the best den in the world! But, uh, can I come and look at yours now?
Posy: Yeah. Come over.
[Everyone laughs, children speak distantly, rustling, crow caws, flapping, twig taps, blue bird chitters]
Description: Zac drops the cup, and he and Frankie run to Pip and Posy’s den. The birds drop the twig and watch; then the crow picks it up and flies away. The crow puts the twig in their nest, then settles with their eyes closed. The blue bird steals the twig and flies to their nest on a nearby branch.
