Description: Pip and Posy grab each other’s hands and dance together. Pip wears a long-sleeved white-and-green striped shirt and jeans. Posy wears a blue-and-red T-shirt with a blue-and-white polka-dot skirt. Pip carries Posy on his back. Posy tosses her toy frog, Froggy, high in the air. She catches Froggy as Pip’s toy pig, Piggy, lands in Pip’s hand.
Pip: Oh!
[Both giggle]
Posy: Come on!
Pip and Posy: Let’s play!
[Both giggle]

Description: In the Playing Spot, Posy and Pip kneel on cushions on a small round carpet in a reading nook. Each holds two long cardboard tubes taped together, using them like paddles.
Posy: This river goes on for ages, Jungle Buddy Pip.
Pip: Keep looking! That sneaky tiger must be around here somewhere.
Posy: Hmm. I can't see a tiger. But I can see...
[Dramatic music notes play]
Description: Posy looks at Froggy and Piggy lying on a nearby bean bag chair.
Posy: A poisonous Froggy and a poisonous Piggy!
[Posy giggles, exciting music plays]
Pip: Augh! Quick, paddle faster!
[Both pant, laughing, whistling, Pip gasps, Posy giggles, toy whistles]
Description: Pip and Posy paddle faster. Pip puts down his paddle and looks through a window. Outside, Zac throws a toy across the playground.
Pip: Wow! Zac's got a new toy! Want to go and play with it?
Posy: But we're playing Jungle Buddies. We haven't found the big tiger yet.
Pip: Oh, yeah.
[Posy hums, Pip giggles, toy whistles, toy thumps, Zac laughs, the music stops, thump]
Description: Pip kneels on his cushion and paddles with Posy. He stops paddling, looks at the window, and leaps to his feet.
Pip: Uh, oh... Sorry, I've got to go and see!
[Door creaks, Pip giggles]
Description: Pip runs outside.
Posy: Pip!
[Posy sighs]
Posy: Hmm. I'll paddle by myself, then.
[Gentle music plays, Posy hums, sighs]
Description: Posy smiles and paddles. She stops paddling and glances at Pip’s cushion.
Posy: Well, if Pip doesn't want to play, I can play with you instead, uh, Pop!
[Posy giggles, upbeat music plays]
Description: Posy pretends to shake hands with her invisible friend, Pop.
[Gentle thumping]
Posy: Nice to meet you. Here's a paddle, new Jungle Buddy Pop.
Description: Posy drops Pip’s cardboard tube paddle on the cushion, and it rolls off.
Posy: Whoops.
[Posy giggles]
Description: Posy nudges the air beside her with her elbow.
Posy: You dropped it, clumsy-galumsy. Okay, you can be on lookout, then.
[Thump, Posy hums, bee buzzes, wings flap, thump, cheerful music plays]
Description: Posy picks up her paddle and paddles. A bee flies into the room through the partially open door and bumps into a book with flowers on the cover. Outside on the playground, Zac backs away from Pip and throws the toy.
Zac: Three, two, one, blast off!
[Toy whistles, Pip giggles]
Description: Pip catches it.
Pip: Whistly whoosh!
[Toy whistles, Zac giggles, Zac grunts, Pip laughs, toy thumps]
Description: Pip throws the toy to Zac, who catches it and throws it back.
Pip: Hmm. Can it do anything else?
[The music stops]
Zac: Um, not really. But we can throw it over by the seesaw.
Pip: Um, thanks, but I was in the middle of a game with Posy.
[Pip grunts, toy whistles, thump]
Description: Pip throws the toy to Zac and runs towards the Playing Spot.
Pip: See you later.
Zac: See you!
[Posy hums, door opens, creaks]
Description: In the Playing Spot, Posy paddles. Pip runs toward his cushion, and Posy holds up her arm to stop him.
Pip: I'm back!
Posy: Careful! You nearly stepped on Pop.
Pip: Who?
[Posy giggles]
Posy: My new Jungle Buddy. Pip, meet Pop. Pop, meet Pip.
Pip: Oh, uh, hi.
[Posy laughs]
Description: Pip reaches out and pretends to shake Pop’s hand.
[Upbeat music plays]
Posy: He's standing over there now.
Description: Posy points across the room and Pip waves to Pop.
Pip: Mmm. Um, well, I'm ready to get paddling again.
Description: Posy walks to three books scattered on the wall-to-wall blue carpet.
Posy: Don't need to. Me and Pop just reached the river bank.
[Posy gasps]
Posy: Oh no! Sleeping crocodiles! Quick, Pop, let's hop!
[Posy grunts, rustling, Posy giggles]
Description: Posy hops between the books, then turns and looks at Pip.
Posy: Hurry, Pip, before they snap your toes!
Pip: Uh, okay. Wait for me!
[Pip grunts, bee buzzes, bee thumps, the music stops]
Description: Pip hops between the books to Posy. The bee flies across the room and hits a cushion with a flower on it. At a table, Posy holds her hands by her eyes, cupping them and imitating holding binoculars.
Posy: Where is that tiger hiding? Wait, what was that?
Pip: I didn't hear anything.
Posy: Pop's got amazing hearing. He heard a growl. The tiger must be close by.
[Posy gasps]
Posy: There it was again! Oh no.
[Posy giggles]
Description: Posy gestures at the air beside her.
Posy: That was just Pop's tummy rumbling. You must be hungry.
[Posy giggles, descending music notes play]
Pip: Uh, I'm hungry too.
[Upbeat music plays]
Description: Pip picks an orange crayon up from the table.
Pip: We can eat this, uh, jungle carrot.
Posy: Oh, goody! Are there anymore?
[Rustling]
Description: Pip searches the table, lifting a cup and peering beneath it.
Pip: Oh, uh...Um...
[Posy gasps]
Description: Posy points at a picture of a tree on the wall.
Posy: Pop's found a banana tree! Look! He's climbing right to the top!
[Posy squeals]
Description: Posy jumps to her left.
Posy: Pop, you clumsy-galumsy! You're dropping bananas everywhere!
[Posy gasps]
Posy: I'll catch them.
[Posy grunts, hands clap]
Description: Pip watches Posy pretend to catch bananas.
Posy: Here, Pip, you have one.
[Posy laughs, crayon taps, Pip sighs, Posy munches, the music stops]
Description: Posy pretends to give Pip a banana, and he puts the crayon on the table. Posy pretends to peel and eat a banana.
Posy: Thanks, Pop. You have one too.
Pip: Yeah.
[Munch]
Description: Pip pretends to peel and eat a banana.
Pip: Thanks, Pop.
[Posy gasps]
Description: Posy points past Pip.
Posy: I saw some stripes! The tiger must be really close now!
Pip: Oh, I'll find him!
[Pip grunts, upbeat music plays]
Description: Pip throws away the pretend peel.
Pip: Follow me.
[Pip hums]
Description: Posy follows Pip, then stops and holds out her left hand, palm facing Pip.
Posy: Pip, stop! You've stepped in quicksand.
Description: Pip stands in front of the red double front doors and looks down at a mat.
Pip: Oh, have I?
[Thump]
Description: Posy picks up a paddle.
Posy: Don't worry, me and Pop are here to help. Pop says grab his paddle so we can pull you out.
Pip [quietly]: It's not Pop's paddle, it's mine.
Description: Posy holds the paddle out towards Pip.
Posy: Hurry, Pip! Pop is trying to save you.
Pip: But-- but I don't need Pop's help, okay? Can he just-- just go now?
Description: Pip crosses his arms and looks away from Posy.
[The music stops]
Posy: Go? But why?
Pip: Because I'm you're Jungle Buddy. Why is Pop even here?!
Posy: Well, because you went to play with Zac.
Pip: Only for a bit.
Posy: I didn't know that. You left me by myself. It's not as fun playing on your own.
[Soft music plays]
Pip: Yeah, but—
Posy: So I had to find a new Jungle Buddy. That's why I made up Pop.
[Light music plays]
Pip: Oh. You're right. I did just leave you. I'm sorry, Posy.
[Upbeat music plays]
Posy: That's okay. But I'm happy you did come back. Pop is too.
Pip: Really?
Description: Posy whispers into Pip’s ear.
Posy [whispers]: Yeah. He thinks you're funny.
[Pip giggles, dramatic music plays]
Description: Pip falls to his knees and reaches towards Posy.
Pip: Augh! The quicksand! Quick, Pop and Posy! Pull me out!
[Posy giggles, tap, exciting music plays]
Description: Posy holds out the paddle, and Pip grabs the other side.
Pip: Pull, Pop! Pull!
[Both grunt]
Description: Posy pulls Pip away from the quicksand mat.
Posy: Ah-hah!
[Pip giggles, Pip and Posy cheer, upbeat music plays]
Description: Posy puts the paddle on the floor, and she and Pip raise their arms. Pip hugs Posy.
Pip: Thanks, Posy. Thanks, Pop.
[Rustling, Posy giggles]
Description: Pip pretends to hug Pop, then puts his left hand on Posy’s shoulder.
Pip: You're an amazing Jungle Buddy. Now, let's find that tiger.
[Bee buzzes, Pip gasps]
Description: Pip and Posy watch the bee fly past them and out through the partially open door;
Pip: I know why we couldn't find the tiger. There is no tiger!
[Pip giggles, bee buzzes, rustling, the music stops]
Description: Pip runs across the room. Posy reaches out, takes Pop’s hand, and follows Pip outside. The bee lands on a yellow flower and hugs it. Pip and Posy crouch on a porch and watch the bee.
Pip: It wasn't a growl Pop heard. It was the buzz of a bee.
[Posy laughs]
Posy: And those stripes I saw were the bee's, not the tiger's.
[Posy giggles]
Description: Posy nudges the air beside her.
Posy: Maybe your hearing isn't that good, Pop.
[Pip and Posy giggle, toy whistles, thump, upbeat music plays]
Description: Zac chases the toy.
Zac: Whoosh!
[Zac giggles, thump, Zac grunts, toy whistles, thump, Zac giggles]
Description: Zac picks the toy up and throws it.
Posy: That does look fun, actually. Want to go and play?
Pip: But what about Pop?
[Posy giggles, toy whistles]
Description: Posy pretends to pat Pop’s back.
Posy: Pop's not very good at catching. He's a clumsy-galumsy. I think he'd rather stay in the jungle and eat bananas.
[Posy and Pip giggle]
Description: Pip and Posy hold hands and run towards the playground. Pip waves to Pop.
Pip: Bye, Pop!
Posy: See you soon!
Description: The bee glances at the porch, then watches Pip and Posy run.
