Work It Out Wombats
Descriptive Transcript
[Slide whistle, rhythmic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: A staircase spirals around the tree trunk of the Treeborhood. Tiny houses are nestled in the tree. In the Wombat’s house, Malik, a blue-grey wombat, Zadie, a purple wombat, and Zeke, a yellow wombat, sleep in hammocks. They wake up, jump out of their hammocks, and high-five each other. Their grandmother, Super, a blue wombat with pink hair, pours milk and breakfast cereal into their bowls. Zeke holds his stuffed wombat, Snout. The children leave the house and slide across tree branches.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: When there's a problem, what do we say? Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Where there's a will, there's always way. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats.
ZADIE SINGS: We’ve got ideas for days.
MALIK SINGS: Solve problems lots of ways.
ZEKE SINGS: I love it when we play…
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: All together.
DESCRIPTION: Ellie, an orange moose, jumps on a trampoline, and her blue hat flies off. In a hot air balloon basket, Malik catches the hat and returns it to Ellie.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
ZADIE SINGS: Hey, I'm Zadie; bring on the problems. Try some different things 'til we solve 'em.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts apples on a table. The apples fall, and Zadie and Mr. E, a green iguana with a black bowler hat, pick the apples up.
[Whoosh, slide whistle]
MALIK SINGS: I'm Malik. We'll work it out, just wait. We make some plans, and then we build and create.
DESCRIPTION: Malik rides in a go-kart with his friend JunJun, a pink Philippine Eagle. They both wear helmets.
ZEKE SINGS: I'm Zeke, here's snout. We like to explore.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: Let's go do it, one, two, three, four. Help's never far away, that's for sure. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Come join the fun, you ready? Let's go. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Yeah!

BOTH: Mr. Splendito!
[Slide whistles, energetic music plays]

[Box scrapes]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie stops pushing the box.
ZADIE: Yeah, why? Do you want a ride?
MALIK: No, I want you to be quiet!
ZADIE: Excuse me. I didn't realize you were the boss of the living room.
MALIK: Zadie, I'm watching The Mr. Splendito Show. Only, I'm missing it because of you. You're making too much noise.
ZADIE: Fine. We'll choo-choo more quietly.
[Box scrapes, the music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie pushes the box, and Zeke imitates pulling a train whistle cord.
ZEKE, QUIETLY: Toot, toot.
ZEKE: Look out!
ZADIE: Wah!
[Thump, Zadie grunts, discordant music notes play, tablet clicks]
DESCRIPTION: The box hits a chair. On the couch, Malik drops his tablet onto the cushion.
MALIK: Can't you please sit still for one measly hour?
[Chess piece rattles, light music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik picks up his tablet and leaves. At Sammy’s house, Quique plays both sides in a chess game, with a Mr. Splendito mug on the table by the board. MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Swirl in the sky, for now you can fly.
SAMMY: How is he doing that?
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Have you ever seen magic this good? I think not. Ha-ha!
MALIK: His voice sounds familiar. It's like I know him from somewhere.
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: These balloons will stay in the air for hours, obeying my every comm—
[Whoosh, water splashes]

DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito catches a water balloon in his hat.
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Ah, gotcha!
[Water splashes, Malik and Sammy laugh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito puts his hat on, and the balloon bursts on his head. He smiles.
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: That's it for now. Remember, kids. A magic trick a day keeps the grouchies away. Ha-ha!
[Energetic music plays, Malik and Sammy laugh, Malik sighs happily]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito and his helper dance off the stage. On the couch, Malik and Sammy smile.
MALIK: So good and so funny! Know what I wish?
DESCRIPTION: Sammy nods.
[Cheerful music plays, squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy points his tail at his t-shirt.
SAMMY: You wish you had my Mr. Splendito t-shirt.
MALIK: Not exactly.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy runs across the room and points at a poster on the wall.
SAMMY: A Mr. Splendito poster?
MALIK: Eh-eh!
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy runs to the table and points at the mug.
SAMMY: A Mr. Splendito mug?
MALIK: Well, I do wish I had all those things, but I really wish I could meet Mr. Splendito in person.
QUIQUE: I guess you haven't heard about how you can get tickets to his next show?
SAMMY AND MALIK: Huh?
QUIQUE: Go check the Everything Emporium.
[Whoosh, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Sammy arrive at the deck in front of the Everything Emporium. A Mr. Splendito poster hangs beside the front door.
SAMMY READS: "Five silver tickets to a live Mr. Splendito performance."
BOTH: Yay, yay, yay!
MALIK READS: "The tickets have been hidden around the Treeborhood. Whoever finds a ticket will meet Mr. Splendito and receive a splendid surprise."
SAMMY: Let's start looking!
[Wheels rumble, squeak, upbeat music plays, tomatoes thump]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy hops on his skateboard, and Malik rides his bicycle. They roll through the gardens at the Sow and Grow. Malik searches in a basket of tomatoes.
SAMMY: See a ticket?
MALIK: Not yet.
[Plop, ice cream squelches, skateboard bangs, helmets thump, soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik searches an ice cream cart, and an ice cream cone slides off his head. Later, Malik and Sammy stop and take off their helmets.
SAMMY: Not one ticket, and we looked everywhere.
DESCRIPTION: Nearby, Louisa watches Sammy and Malik through binoculars.
LOUISA: Did you say "ticket?" Are you looking for Mr. Splendito tickets?
MALIK: We are. Are you?
[Leaves rustle, slide whistle, Leiko grunts]
DESCRIPTION: Above Louisa, Leiko pokes her head out of the treetop.
LEIKO: No tickets up there.
[Leaves rustle, jumps softly thump, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko jumps onto the wooden path.
MALIK: Howdy, kids. I didn't know you were Splendito-heads.
LOUISA: Did you not know I'm his number one fan? I have a badge to prove it.
DESCRIPTION: Louisa shows Malik and Sammy a heart-shaped drawing of Mr. Splendito taped to her shirt.
LEIKO: Duffy, Louisa, and I love his show. We're hoping to find three tickets.
SAMMY: We're looking for tickets, too. Only, we looked, and we found zippo, nothing, nada.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko holds up her smartphone, which displays a map of the treeborhood.
LEIKO: You know what might help? A map.
SAMMY: How's a map gonna help?
LEIKO: Just like it did back in the day when I used to hunt for dinosaur fossils.
SAMMY: Say what?
MALIK: That's so cool!
[Slide whistle, thump, whoosh, upbeat music plays quietly]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Leiko remembers picking up a dinosaur tooth from the ground. The thought bubble disappears, and she points at a grid over her treeborhood map.
LEIKO: Even found a T. rex tooth. Tell ya about that some other day. Anyway, what I used to do was I would take a map and divide it into boxes like this. Then, I'd pick a box and search everything in that box. When I was done, I'd colour in the box and then move on to the next box and search that place.
[Phone chimes]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko touches a box on the smartphone screen, and it turns transparent blue.
LEIKO: Instead of just randomly looking around, having a map helped me organize my search.
MALIK: Whoa! That totally makes sense.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Duffy searches beneath Mr. E.’s hat at the Eat and Greet.
LEIKO: And, since Mama Duffy searched the Eat N' Greet before work this morning...
LOUISA: And Mommy, Leiko, and I searched all the branches around it so hard...
[Phone chimes]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko touches a box on the smartphone screen, and the Eat and Greet box turns transparent blue.
LEIKO: We can now colour in that box. This means we searched everything in that part of the Treeborhood. So now, we can look some place else.
SAMMY: I totally didn't search like that. I just zoomed around on my board.
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik takes out his tablet.
LEIKO: Ah, no worries. From here on in, we'll be super organized. Let's pull up the map on your tablet and pick different boxes to search.
DESCRIPTION: Leiko points to the top middle box on the grid. She points to the bottom middle box.
LEIKO: How about you look around this box? It has our house, Sammy's house, the Fishmans' bowl, and the Starlight Room. And we'll head down here to The Everything Emporium. Okay, everybody, ready?
DESCRIPTION: Louisa, Malik, and Sammy nod.
LEIKO: Then, let's get...
OTHERS: Looking!
[Hands slap, slide whistle, leaves rustle, door squeaks, opens, slide whistles, water bubbles, Sammy blows]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa and Malik jump and high-five Leiko. Later, Sammy and Malik search in the trees. Sammy opens a door and looks into a room, and Malik peers over the top of a park bench. They search by Louisa’s house and swim in the Fishmans’ bowl. Sammy blows a ribbon off his head. Malik walks to him, carrying the tablet.
MALIK: We searched every inch of this box. Louisa's house, your house, the Fishmans' bowl, now the Starlight Room. Time to colour it in.
SAMMY: Stop. We missed one place.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy leads Malik to a telescope.
SAMMY: The telescope. We didn't search the telescope. We need to search everywhere before colouring in the box.
[Upbeat music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy peers through the telescope and discovers a silver ticket on a tree branch.
SAMMY: There it is.
[Boing]
DESCRIPTION: Malik looks through the telescope and jumps happily.
MALIK CHEERS: Woo-hoo!
MALIK: You found a ticket. You rock, Sammy.
SAMMY: I do. I rock.
MALIK: Sammy really, really rocks!
[Static hisses]
DESCRIPTION: Malik activates a walkie-talkie.
MALIK: Calling Louisa. Calling Louisa.
[Static hisses]
DESCRIPTION: On a split screen, Louisa speaks into a walkie-talkie.
LOUISA: Did you not know my walkie-talkie name is "Whoop-Dee-Doo Skidoo?”
[Malik laughs]
LOUISA: Over.
[Jump boings]
DESCRIPTION: Malik jumps.
MALIK: Well, Whoop-Dee-Doo Skidoo, we found a ticket. We saw it through the telescope. It was on a branch.
LOUISA: And we...
DESCRIPTION: Leiko dances beside Louisa, holding a silver ticket.
LEIKO: Found one too...
LOUISA: In Mr. E's shell garden. We also searched the Everything Emporium and Super's office.
MALIK: We're totally cookin', so let's keep lookin'.
[Tablet chimes, upbeat music plays, tablet chimes, chimes, slide whistles, leaves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik touches the searched box on the map, and it turns transparent blue. He and Sammy search the post office, under a bench, and near the top of a slide. Malik taps another area on the map. Leiko and Louisa search on the beach near the Shelly family home and the Sow and Grow. Louisa shakes her head, and they tap another area on the map. In the Everything Emporium, Malik and Sammy look under and in boxes. Sammy shakes his head, and Malik taps another box on the map, leaving three unsearched areas. Outside, Louisa and Leiko swing on the tire swing. They land in a tree and find a silver ticket.
LOUISA: Yippee!
LEIKO: Oh!
[Tablet chimes, upbeat music continues, slide whistle, tablet chimes, Malik gasps, ticket rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko taps the box on the map. Sammy and Malik search the ground around a house. Malik looks into a knothole in a tree. He and Sammy shake their heads, and he taps a box on the map. Malik and Sammy search around JunJun’s house and find a silver ticket on the ground. Malik picks it up, and he and Sammy jump and bounce off each other.
BOTH: Woo-hoo!
SAMMY: We found one!
[Tablet chimes, tickets rustle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik taps the last area on the map, and it turns transparent blue. Later, everyone puts a ticket on top of a barrel.
MALIK: One...two... three...four silver tickets!
LEIKO: Which means only one more ticket left to find.
SAMMY: Four's good enough though, right? Four tickets for one, two, three, four of us.
LOUISA: Did you not know we need a ticket for my Mama Duffy, too?
MALIK: Oh, right! So, we should keep on looking.
SAMMY: Is there any place we didn't look?
DESCRIPTION: Leiko takes out her smartphone, and the children gather around it.
LEIKO: Let's check the map.
MALIK: We searched everywhere. All the boxes are coloured in.
LEIKO: Let's break it down. We searched all the Treeborhood buildings, right?
SAMMY: Yep, and all the leaves and branches.
LOUISA: And the ground at the bottom of the tree.
MALIK: And the elevator. And the slide. Wait a minute. We only checked the outside of the slide.
SAMMY: But we didn't check the inside, the part that goes inside the tree.
MALIK: Which means we coloured in that box too soon. Let's go search the inside of the slide.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa, Malik, and Sammy sit at the top of the slide, and Leiko stands behind them.
LEIKO: Keep your eyes peeled. And go!
[Slide whistle, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko pushes the children forward, then jumps onto the slide.
CHILDREN: Whee!
DESCRIPTION: The silver ticket dangles from the ceiling of the slide, and Louisa points at it.
LOUISA: I see it!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa slides beneath the ticket.
LOUISA: No!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik slides beneath the ticket.
MALIK: Can't reach.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy slides beneath the ticket.
SAMMY: Ah!
[Slide whistle, ticket tears, whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko grabs the ticket.
LEIKO: Nailed it! Woo-hoo!
[Leiko gasps, cheerful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone reaches the bottom of the slide and gathers on the grass.
LEIKO: We did it. We found all five tickets! Woo!
[Boings]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone dances.
EVERYONE SINGS: We did it.
[Upbeat music plays, Louisa thumps]
DESCRIPTION: In a basement, Duffy, Malik, Sammy, Louisa, and Leiko sit on stools and chairs facing a stage. Sammy wears his Mr. Splendito t-shirt, a top hat and a brown moustache. Louisa bounces excitedly on her stool.
LOUISA: I kind of can't wait for one more second! Dim the lights already!
[Audience gasps, applauds]
DESCRIPTION: The lights dim, and Mr. Splendito’s helper walks onstage holding a hoop. Mr. Splendito follows her.
AUDIENCE: Mr. Splendito!
[Energetic music plays]
MR. SPLENDITO: Time for The Mr. Splendito Show! Starring the world's best magician, yours truly!
MR. SPLENDITO SINGS: Ba-ba-ba-ba!
[The music stops]
MALIK: He so sounds like someone I know. But, who?
[Slide whistle, whoosh, energetic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito rolls into the audience and walks behind them.
MR. SPLENDITO: Hello, welcome, what a splendiferous day!
EVERYONE SINGS: It really would be tragic if we didn't do some magic.
[Slide whistles]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito pulls the bubble ball out of his cape and taps it with his wand. A second ball appears, and he throws it to his assistant, who hits it with her knee. He throws more bubble balls, and she hits them back with her knee. Mr. Splendito juggles the bubble balls.
MR. SPLENDITO: Today's magic trick involves a bubble ball, two balls, three, four, and five. Ha-ha!
[Audience laughs, cheers]
DUFFY: Hurray!
[Applause, balls whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito juggles the bubble balls.
SAMMY: Whoa!
[Slide whistles, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito lies on his back and juggles the balls with his feet. They fall and bounce off his tummy.
MR. SPLENDITO: Ooh-ah-hoo-hoo-hoo!
AUDIENCE: Woo-hoo!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito waves his wand, and the bubble balls float up.
SAMMY: Whoa!
[Plops, slide whistle, pop]
DESCRIPTION: The bubble balls combine into a larger ball. Mr. Splendito pops the bubble ball with his wand, and bubbles float over the audience.
AUDIENCE: Yay! Hurray!
[Cheers, applause, energetic music plays]
MR. SPLENDITO: That's it for now. Remember, kids. One magic trick a day?
AUDIENCE: Keeps the grouchies away!
[Applause, the music ends]
DESCRIPTION: The audience gives a standing ovation.
MR. SPLENDITO: And now, for the splendid surprise. Ready, Hand? One, two...
[Audience gasps, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito removes his hat and moustache, revealing he is Mr. E. His helper removes her hand costume, revealing she is Ellie.
SAMMY: Ellie?
MALIK: Mr. E.?
[Ellie giggles, light music plays]
MR. E.: As our friend Louisa likes to say, "Did you not know it was us?"
MALIK: I did! But I didn't. But I did! I knew you looked familiar.
[Everyone laughs]
[Upbeat music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: In the wombat children’s bedroom, night turns into day. Zadie awakens and hops out of her hammock. Zeke opens one eye. Malie puts on a helmet, hops on a skateboard, and looks out the window at grey clouds.
ZADIE SINGS: The day is new. It's time to play.
ZEKE SINGS: Outside, outside, hip-hip-hurray!
MALIK SINGS: Hey, whoa, look at the sky.
CHILDREN SING: The clouds are grey, I wonder why.
[Rain patters]
DESCRIPTION: The children go outside, and rain begins to fall.
CHILDREN SING: Drip-drop on my nose, drip-drop on my toes. It's raining, run inside.
[Door slams]
DESCRIPTION: They run inside and watch the rain through a window.
CHILDREN SING: Do raindrops fall from dark and cloudy skies?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music continues]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie hops out of her hammock.
ZADIE SINGS: Another day, another try.
ZEKE SINGS: Why don't we check the sky?
MALIK SINGS: Those dark grey clouds are back today.
CHILDREN SING: Do you think that means there'll be rain?
[Door creaks, rain patters]
DESCRIPTION: The children walk onto the deck, and it starts raining.
CHILDREN SING: Drip-drop on my nose, drip-drop on my toes. It's raining, run inside.
DESCRIPTION: Inside, the children watch the rain through the window.
CHILDREN SING: Raindrops fall from dark and cloudy skies.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music continues]

ZADIE SINGS: Wake up, wake up, it's time to play.
ZEKE SINGS: I hope it's not so wet today.
[Wheels rumble]

MALIK SINGS: The sky is blue, here comes the sun.
[Wheels rumble, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: The children skateboard outside to the deck. They look up at the sky, then skateboard on the deck.
CHILDREN SING: And all the dark grey clouds are done. No drops on my nose, no drops on my toes. The sun's here, let's stay outside. 'Cause raindrops aren't falling from dark and cloudy skies, woo-hoo!
Episode title: The Bike Wash.

ZADIE: It's almost time for the bike parade! Yay!
MALIK: Let's give our bikes one last shine before the parade.
[Door opens, squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: The children stop in the doorway and stare at the mud splattered on the deck, the slide, and the pathway.
ALL: Whoa!
ZADIE: Look at all that mud. It's everywhere.
[Malik gasps]
MALIK: Our bikes!
[Lively music plays, door slams, horn blares, propeller thumps, door opens, mud drips]
DESCRIPTION: The children jump into a gondola and ride to a platform on the ground. They open the door and find their bikes in a giant mud puddle. Mud drips off the handlebars.
ZADIE SHOUTS: Oh, no!
[Serious music plays]
ZADIE: We spent all day cleaning our bikes yesterday.
MALIK: And now, our bikes are covered in mud.
ZEKE: It's not just our bikes. Look.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke points at a bike, a tandem bike, a motorbike, a scooter, and a tricycle. All have mud dripping off the handlebars and frames.
MALIK: Everyone's bikes are muddy. Where did all this mud come from?
[Slide whistle, energetic music plays, jumps boing, mud splashes]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Zeke imagines a smiling yellow monster jumping in a mud puddle.
ZEKE: I bet it was a mud monster. Mud monsters make mud so they can pounce in muddy puddles.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The thought bubble disappears.
[Mud splashes, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie and Zeke stomp in a muddy puddle.
ZADIE: Yes! They stomp, stomp, stomp through the mud. Why? Because they love a muddy mess.
[Mud splashes, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie jumps high and splashes mud towards Malik, and he ducks.
MALIK: Oh! Hm, I don't know if mud monsters actually made this mess. Let's ask Super. She's in the laundry room. She might know what really happened.
[Upbeat music plays, mud squelches]
DESCRIPTION: Malik runs out of the muddy puddle, and Zadie follows him.
ZEKE: I'm telling ya. It’s a mud monster.
[Upbeat music plays, slide whistle, whooshes]
DESCRIPTION: In the laundry room, Super takes a muddy pink flag out of a muddy laundry basket. The children roll into the room.
CHILDREN: Grandma Super! Grandma Super!
SUPER: What's up, buttercups?
MALIK: Our bikes were clean before we went to bed last night, but this morning, everyone's bikes are dirty, and there's mud everywhere.
[Light music notes play]
ZEKE: It was a mud monster, wasn't it?
[Wind whooshes, rain splashes]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Super thinks of heavy rain falling and mud splashing around the bikes.
SUPER: Ah, well, a mud monster is one guess. But in this case, it was a windy rainstorm that hit the Treeborhood, making a big, muddy mess.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The thought bubble disappears.
CHILDREN: Oh!
[Flag rustles]
SUPER: That's why I'm washing the flags that mark the route for the bike parade. They got muddy, too.
MALIK: But the parade starts in a few hours. We can't ride muddy bikes.
ZADIE: Yeah, this isn't the muddy bike parade, you know?
[Slide whistle, flags rustle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Super dumps the flags into a wash tub.
SUPER: If you want clean bikes, you'll have to wash them yourselves. I've gotta meet Ellie. We volunteered to clean up the Treeborhood for the parade.
MALIK: Super's right. Let's go clean those bikes.
ZADIE: Let's do this.
[Slide whistle, thump]
DESCRIPTION: The children turn, and Zeke and Zadie run into Malik’s back.
ZEKE AND ZADIE: Oof!
MALIK: I've got an idea. It's not just our bikes that are muddy. Everyone's are.
ZEKE: So, it would be nice if we pitched in and washed everyone's bikes for them.
ZADIE: But the bike parade starts soon, and it took forever to wash our bikes yesterday.
ZEKE: How can we wash everyone's bikes in time for the parade?
ZADIE: If only we had a washing machine like that clothes washing one, but for our bikes.
ZEKE: What if we create one?
[Zadie and Malik gasp]
ZADIE AND MALIK: Yes!
MALIK: Let's observe the washing machine to see what we need our bike machine to do.
[Ding, machine whirrs, water splashes upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: A mechanical arm pours water into the tub.
ZADIE: Step one, the machine has to wet the bikes.
[Ding, whirr, drip, whirr, water splashes]
DESCRIPTION: The mechanical arm pours detergent into the tub, and two spinning whisks lower into the tub and rotate.
ZEKE: Step two, it has to wash the bikes with soap.
[Ding, whirring, water splashes]
DESCRIPTION: The mixers lift out of the tub, and the mechanical arm pours water.
MALIK: Step three, it has to rinse the bikes.
ZADIE: Wet, wash, and rinse. A machine with three steps. Easy-peasy.
MALIK: Come on! Let's go get what we need to build our bike washing machine.
[Whoosh, Ellie sighs]
DESCRIPTION: The children leave the laundry room. Outside, on the ground, scattered leaves, branches, and mud puddles surround Ellie. Super arrives, carrying two grabbers.
SUPER: Hi-ya, Ellie.
ELLIE: Can you believe this muddy mess?
[Rustle, clicks, upbeat music plays, leaves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Super gives Ellie a grabber. They both pick up branches and place them in a pile. Ellie and Super look at the ground around them. Super puts her hands on her hips.
[The music stops]
SUPER: We're gonna need more than a few grabbers if we're going to finish in time for the bike parade.
ELLIE: I wish we had more hands. Then we could hold more grabbers.
[Light music notes play]
SUPER: That gives me an idea.
DESCRIPTION: Elsewhere, Zeke, Malik, and Zadie arrive by the muddy bikes. Zadie stands beside a wagon full of cleaning supplies.
ZEKE: Whoa. That is a lot of dirty bikes.
[Light music plays]
MALIK: That's why we need to create a machine. First, we need to create a way to wet the bikes.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke runs to a hose and picks it up.
ZEKE: We can use this hose.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie rides her bike.
ZADIE: Okay, put the hose down, and I'll ride through the water.
[Water sprays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke puts the hose down, and it wiggles.
ZADIE: I can't keep running through the water if the hose keeps moving. How can we improve it?
DESCRIPTION: Malik turns off the hose.
MALIK: We need to make the hose stay in one place so we can ride the bike through the water. Thinking positions!
[Slide whistle, rain patters, water sprays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke stands on one leg, Zadie lies on the grass, and Malik balances on his head. Zadie sits up and, in a thought bubble, imagines a rain cloud, then a hose spraying water above her bike.
ZADIE: What if it worked like a raincloud? We could hang the hose above the bikes and ride under the water.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The thought bubble disappears.
MALIK: Good idea! Let's improve it by hanging the hose from something.
MR E: Oh, for the love of discounts!
[Slide whistle, thump, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In front of the Everything Emporium, Mr. E. drops an armful of long foam pool noodles.
MR E: Ooh! Ugh!
[Whoosh, slide whistles]
DESCRIPTION: The children roll to him, and Malik picks up a pool noodle.
MALIK: We'll help you, Mr. E!
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie picks up a pool noodle and bends it.
ZADIE: Maybe we could make a rainbow out of these pool noodles.
[Slide whistle, whoosh, pop, water drips]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Zadie imagines a hose dripping over arched pool noodles. The thought bubble disappears.
ZADIE: We can make a rainbow tunnel and hang the hose from it.
ZEKE: We can call it the rainbow tunnel bike washing machine.
MR. E.: Bike washing machine, huh? I don't suppose you'd consider washing my muddy unicycle for me?
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. gestures at his muddy unicycle.
MALIK: Well, we could do that if you let us use all your pool noodles.
MR. E.: Deal!
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. and Malik shake hands.
ZADIE: Yes!
[Wrench rattles, sack rustles]
DESCRIPTION: In Super’s workshop, Super shows Ellie a vacuum cleaner with grabbers and a bag attached.
SUPER: Okay, the vacuum will suck up the muddy puddles, and the grabbers will pick up branches and put them in this bag.
[Lever creaks, air hisses, vacuum rattles, energetic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Super pushes a lever, and the vacuum drives forward. Super and Ellie chase it.
SUPER: Runaway vacuum!
[Slide whistle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Outside, Zadie and Malik stand in muddy puddles with a pool noodle between them.
ZADIE: Malik, you take one end. I'll take the other end.
[Thump, mud splashes, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: They bend the pool noodle into an arch and push the ends into the mud. The pool noodle straightens, knocking them both backwards into the mud.
ZADIE: We need to create a way to stick the pool noodles in the ground like that sign.
[Jump boings, slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie points at a sign. Zeke pulls it out of the ground and then pushes it back in.
ZEKE: Yes!
[Noodle squeaks, slide whistle, smack]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke pushes a stick into the opening at one end of the pool noodle. He picks up the noodle and pushes the stick into the ground.
MALIK: You know, you two have great ideas.
[Upbeat music plays, slide whistle, smack, dirt rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Malik pushes a stick into the end of a pool noodle and pushes it into the dirt. He, Zadie, and Zeke use more sticks to create a line of arched pool noodles.
MALIK: I'll get the hose on top of the rainbows so we can wet the bikes.
[Whoosh, hose creaks]
DESCRIPTION: Malik throws the hose, and it wraps around the green pool noodles at the front.
ZADIE: Cool!
ZEKE: Whoa!
ZADIE: Let's test it out. Ride your bike through, Zeke.
[Whoosh, faucet squeaks, water whooshes, sprays, upbeat music plays, water drips]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke rolls away, and Malik and Zadie run to a faucet. Malik turns on the faucet, and water sprays from the hose. Zeke rides his bike under the hose and through the tunnel.
ZEKE: It worked! The bike is all wet. But it's still muddy. And now, I'm all wet too.
[Rustle, faucet squeaks, water stops spraying, water drips, dings]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shakes water off his head.
MALIK: That's because the machine has only done step one. Wet the bikes. Now, we need to create the next part of the machine to do step two: wash the bikes with soap.
ZEKE: But how will we get through the bike wash without getting wet?
ZADIE: I've got an idea!
[Whoosh, ding, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie rolls away and returns with raincoats and goggles.
MALIK: Raincoats and goggles. That'll keep us dry. Now, we need to do step two. Wash the bikes with soap. I'll fill the bucket with water.
[Hose rustles, faucet squeaks, water splashes, whoosh, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik detaches the hose from the faucet and fills the bucket. He reattaches the hose and carries the bucket to the others.
ZEKE: I'll add the soap.
[Soap splashes]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke pours soap into the bucket.
ZEKE: Aw, no bubbles.
ZADIE: I can fix that.
[Water splashes]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie steps into the bucket and dances. Bubbles overflow from the top of the bucket.
ZADIE: Ah-ah-ooh, ah-ah-ooh. Mm-mm-mah.
ZEKE: Zadie's a bubble-making machine!
DESCRIPTION: Zadie hops out of the bucket.
MALIK: We can use these sponges to put soapy water on the bikes.
[Slide whistle, water splashes, bubbles pop, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik throws sponges to Zeke and Zadie, and everyone soaks them in the bucket.
ZADIE: But how will we get the soapy sponges on the bike without holding them?
[Whoosh, slide whistle, rustles, water splashes, string whirrs, scissors snip]
DESCRIPTION: Malik runs away and returns holding a sponge and a spool of string. In a thought bubble, Malik imagines Zadie riding her bike through sponges dangling on strings. The thought bubble disappears, and Malik cuts the string.
MALIK: Maybe we can tie the sponges to the strings that hang down. Then, we can ride the bikes through the sponges.
DESCRIPTION: The children pick up soapy sponges and drop them.
ALL: Ah!
MALIK: I can't hold on to my sponge.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik drops his sponge.
ZEKE: Yeah, it's too slippery.
ZADIE: I think maybe we should wash the soap off ourselves first.
[Whoosh, faucet squeaks, upbeat music plays, water sprays, pops]
DESCRIPTION: Malik runs to the faucet and turns it on. The children wash their hands in the spray of water. Later, in the tunnel, Zadie stands on Malik’s shoulders, and Zeke stands on hers. Zeke ties a string with a dangling sponge, and Zadie looks around, smiling.
ZADIE: We worked it out.
ZEKE: Okay, now let's test out the bike machine.
[Upbeat music plays, water sprays, bubbles pop]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zeke stand at one end of the tunnel, and Zadie sits on her bike at the other, wearing goggles and a raincoat. She rides through the spraying water and through the dangling soapy sponges.
ZADIE: Step one, wet the bike. Step two, wash the bike with soap.
[Faucet squeaks, unhappy music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Malik turns off the water, and Zadie rides out of the tunnel. Zeke points at mud on her bike.
ZEKE: The bike's still muddy. How do we improve this?
MALIK: Looks like the sponges only washed one side of the bike. I think we need more sponges.
ZADIE: Okay, there's only one thing to do. Your mission, wombats, is to find more sponges and bring them back here. Are you ready?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke and Malik nod, then run. Zadie drops her raincoat and goggles and follows them.
ZADIE: Go, go, go, go, go!
[Plop]
DESCRIPTION: At home, Zeke pulls a scarf and earmuffs out of a trunk.
ZEKE: These aren't sponges, but they'll make great scrubbers.
[Whoosh, clatter]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke picks up Snout and leaves with the scarf and earmuffs. In the kitchen, Malik takes a paint roller and a hand broom out of a cupboard.
MALIK: Perfect for scrubbing.
[Whoosh, machine whirrs, rattles]
DESCRIPTION: Malik rolls out of the kitchen. Outside, the vacuum cleans a deck. It rolls towards Amado as he picks up a branch.
AMADO: Oh!
SUPER: Watch out!
[Slide whistle, whoosh, brakes screech]
DESCRIPTION: Amado flips the vacuum over. Super pulls the lever, and the vacuum stops.
AMADO: Phew!
[Whirr, wrench rattles, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Super kneels beside the vacuum and repairs it.
SUPER: Sorry, Amado. I just need to reprogram it so it won't run away again. I'll also tighten this bolt, so the arms put branches in the bag instead of flinging them everywhere.
[Slide whistle, Amado chuckles, whirr, grabbers clatter, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Amado carries the branch away. Super sits in a seat on the vacuum and activates it. The grabbers give branches to the vacuum, and the bag fills. Zadie arrives.
ZADIE: Whoa! Cool vacuum, Super. We need sponges. Do you have any?
[Light music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Super takes three tiny sponges out of her pocket and gives them to Zadie.
SUPER: Wait for it.
[Water splashes, pop, upbeat music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Super pours water on the sponges, and they expand. Zadie smiles.
ZADIE: Thanks, Super.
[Whoosh, happy music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the tunnel, Zeke stands on Zadie, who stands on Malik. He ties a string and then smiles. The soapy bubbles cover the sponges, scarf, and earmuffs.
ZADIE: Now, the sponges will wash both sides of the bike.
MALIK: Let's test it out.
[Upbeat music plays, water sprays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie and Zeke stand by the faucet, and Malik sits on his bike at the other end of the tunnel.
ZEKE: Step one, wet the bikes.
[Water sprays, water splashes, bubbles pop]
DESCRIPTION: Malik rides through the spray and the dangling sponges.
ZEKE: Step two, wash the bikes with soap.
DESCRIPTION: Malik stops his bike beside Zeke.
MALIK: The bike's cleaner, and I'm dry under my raincoat.
ZADIE: But the bike's still covered in soap.
MALIK: That's because we haven't done step three. Rinse the soap off the bike.
ZADIE: We could hang the hose to rinse off the bikes…
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie looks at the hose attached to the faucet.
ZADIE: But we only have one. Hm, we need to use something else.
[Slide whistle, water splashes, children laugh]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Zadie remembers the sprinkler park. A big bucket of water tips on her, Zeke, and Malik.
ZADIE: What about the big bucket at the sprinkler park? It spills water over everyone who stands under it.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The thought bubble disappears. Zeke runs and returns with the bucket.
ZEKE: This bucket will work. Let's hang it up.
[Faucet squeaks, kazoo music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie fills the bucket, and Zeke stands on her shoulders to hang it near the end of the tunnel. Zadie stands on Malik’s shoulders.
ZADIE: One of us can pull the string and dump water on the bike, while someone else rides through the tunnel. Let's test it out.
[Happy music plays, water sprays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik stands beside the faucet while Zadie and Zeke sit on the bikes at the other end of the tunnel. Zadie and Zeke ride under the spray.
ZADIE: Step one, wet the bikes.
[Zeke giggles]
ZADIE: Step two, wash the bikes with soap.
[Bubbles pop, water splashes]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie and Zeke ride through the sponges. Malik pulls the rope, splashing Zeke and Zadie as they ride beneath.
MALIK: Step three, rinse the bikes.
[Faucet squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Malik runs to the faucet and turns off the water. Zadie and Zeke ride out of the tunnel.
ALL: We worked it out!
MALIK: Now, we can wash all the bikes in time for the bike parade.
[Vacuum whirrs, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: On the ground, Ellie and Super ride the vacuum as it picks up branches.
SUPER: We're almost done.
[Steam hisses]
DESCRIPTION: The vacuum stops.
SUPER: Ooh! Hm, looks like a screw came loose.
[Rattle, slide whistle, mud splashes]
DESCRIPTION: Mud splashes on Super and Ellie.
SUPER: Oops, that was the screw that opened the mud valve.
ELLIE: At least most of the Treeborhood's clean for the bike parade.
[Both laugh, children laugh, happy music plays, water splashes]
DESCRIPTION: At the bike wash, Zeke rides a scooter, and Zadie rides a bike. Malik tips the bucket on them and then runs to the faucet.
ZADIE: Woo!
[Children cheer]
DESCRIPTION: Super and Ellie glance at each other and then run to the bike wash.
KIDS: Whoa.
ZEKE: What happened to you?
SUPER: Let's just say cleaning is messier than it sounds. Can we take a ride through?
ZADIE: Sure thing.
[Water sprays]
DESCRIPTION: Super and Ellie ride the tandem bike beneath the spraying water.
ELLIE: Come on, let's go!
[Both laugh, bubble pop]
DESCRIPTION: They ride through the dangling sponges.
ELLIE CHEERS: Yay!
[Both laugh, water splashes, wheels squeak]
DESCRIPTION: Malik tips the bucket over on Super and Ellie, then runs to the faucet. Ellie and Super ride out of the tunnel and stop.
ELLIE CHEERS: Woo-hoo!
SUPER CHEERS: Hurray!
[Footsteps tap, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Kat, Kit, Sammy, Mr. E, and Louisa arrive, wearing their bike helmets.
CHILDREN: Surprise! We washed all the bikes.
[Everyone cheers]
KIT: Fabulous!
MR. E.: All right!
KAT: Wonderful!
MALIK: Hoo-hoo! It's time for the bike parade, everyone! Get ready to ride!
[Wheels squeak]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone rides their bikes. Sammy rides the scooter, and Super rides the motorbike.
[Mud splashes, discordant music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: They ride through a large mud puddle.
CHILDREN GROAN: Aw!
[Gasps]
MALIK: Come on down to our bike wash!
[Malik laughs]
ZADIE: And don't forget your raincoats and goggles.
[Water sprays, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa leads riders into the bike wash while Zeke, Zadie, and Malik wait at the other end.
ELLIE CHEERS: Woo-hoo!
[Everyone laughs, wheels squeak, hands slap]

CHILDREN: Yes!

Yeah!

[Cheerful music plays, Malik whooshes, thumps]

MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Mr. Splendito Show! Starring the world's greatest magician, me!
MR. SPLENDITO SINGS, ON THE TABLET: Dah-dah-dah-dah.
BOTH: Mr. Splendito!
[Slide whistles, energetic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito dives through a hoop held by his helper, a moose who wears a hand costume and sunglasses. He lands on one hand.
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Here to perform amazing, astonishing, splendiferous, magic tricks with the help of my special helper.
MR. SPLENDITO SINGS ON THE TABLET: Dah-dah-dah-dah.

MALIK, SAMMY, MR. SPLENDITO, HELPER: It really would be tragic if we didn't do some magic!
[Everyone laughs, thump]
DESCRIPTION: In his living room, Malik holds his tablet. Behind him, Zadie pushes Zeke in a box. Zeke wears a red-striped hood with an opening for his face. The box bumps into Malik.
ZEKE: Watch out for the train.
[Upbeat music plays, slide whistle, box scrapes]
DESCRIPTION: Malik climbs onto the couch, and Zadie continues pushing Zeke back and forth.

MALIK: Are you gonna keep on doing that?
Sammy lies on the couch, holding the tablet with his tail. On the screen, Mr. Splendito waves his wand and water balloons float up off the floor.
SAMMY: That's so cool. Isn't it, Malik?
[Person knocks, door opens]

MALIK: What'd I miss?
SAMMY: Lots of coolness.

MALIK: Too loud at my house. What's Mr. Splendito up to?
[Slide whistle, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy sits on the couch. On the tablet screen, Mr. Splendito’s helper throws water balloons into the air, and they fly in circles above Mr. Splendito.
SAMMY: He's making water balloons fly around the room.

MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: Ah, gotcha!
[Water splashes, Malik and Sammy laugh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito puts his hat on, and the balloon bursts on his head. He smiles.
MR. SPLENDITO, ON THE TABLET: That's it for now. Remember, kids. A magic trick a day keeps the grouchies away. Ha-ha!
[Energetic music plays, Malik and Sammy laugh, Malik sighs happily]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. Splendito and his helper dance off the stage. On the couch, Malik and Sammy smile.
MALIK: So good and so funny! Know what I wish?
DESCRIPTION: Sammy nods.
[Cheerful music plays, squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Sammy points his tail at his t-shirt.
SAMMY: You wish you had my Mr. Splendito t-shirt.
MALIK: Not exactly.
[Whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Zadie hops out of her hammock.
ZADIE SINGS: Wake up, wake up, it's time to play.
ZEKE SINGS: I hope it's not so wet today.
[Wheels rumble]
DESCRIPTION: Malik skateboards to the window and points at the blue sky.
[Upbeat music plays, bicycle bell rings]
DESCRIPTION: On the title card, Louisa rides her tricycle, Zeke rides a scooter, Ellie rides a bicycle, and Super rides a motorbike.
[Opening Credits] Written by Natalie Vazquez. Directed by Jeff Barker, Andrea Gerstmann.
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In the wombats’ living room, Zeke runs in a circle around Malik.
ZEKE: Today's the day! Today's the day!
DESCRIPTION: Everyone rides out of the bike wash, and Malik, Zeke, and Zadie high-five.
CHILDREN: Yes!
[Upbeat music plays]
