Descriptive Transcript
[Slide whistle, rhythmic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: A staircase spirals around the tree trunk of the Treeborhood. Tiny houses are nestled in the tree. In the Wombat’s house, Malik, a blue-grey wombat, Zadie, a purple wombat, and Zeke, a yellow wombat, sleep in hammocks. They wake up, jump out of their hammocks, and high-five each other. Their grandmother, Super, a blue wombat with pink hair, pours milk and breakfast cereal into their bowls. Zeke holds his stuffed wombat, Snout. The children leave the house and slide across tree branches.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: When there's a problem, what do we say? Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Where there's a will, there's always way. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats.
Zadie sings, WE'VE GOT IDEAS FOR DAYS.
MALIK SINGS: Solve problems lots of ways.
ZEKE SINGS: I love it when we play…
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: All together.
DESCRIPTION: Ellie, an orange moose, jumps on a trampoline, and her blue hat flies off. In a hot air balloon basket, Malik catches the hat and returns it to Ellie.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
ZADIE SINGS: Hey, I'm Zadie; bring on the problems. Try some different things 'til we solve 'em.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts apples on a table. The apples fall, and Zadie and Mr. E, a green iguana with a black bowler hat, pick the apples up.
[Whoosh, slide whistle]
MALIK SINGS: I'm Malik. We'll work it out, just wait. We make some plans, and then we build and create.
DESCRIPTION: Malik rides in a go-kart with his friend JunJun, a pink Philippine Eagle. They both wear helmets.
ZEKE SINGS: I'm Zeke, here's Snout. We like to explore.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: Let's go do it, one, two, three, four. Help's never far away, that's for sure. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Come join the fun, you ready? Let's go. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Yeah!

ZEKE: Hi, Kat. Hey, Kit. Where are you going with that barrel?
[Kit pants, light music plays]
KAT: To the Creation Station.
KIT: We're thinking Leiko could use it for an art project.

KIT: And we've got beans to take care of.
MALIK: We can take the barrel to the Creation Station for you.
[Rustle, plop]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat jump out of the barrel.
BOTH: Thanks!
[Light music plays]

CHILDREN: Ah!
[Exciting music plays]

ZEKE: Hello, Leiko!
[Leiko chuckles]

LEIKO: They were right! This barrel would make a great art project, or...
[Slide whistle, drumming, light music notes play]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko turns the barrel upside down and drums on the bottom.
LEIKO: We could use it to make music. If we turned the barrel into a taiko...
KIDS: A what?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko types on her smartphone and shows the children a picture of a drummer beside a taiko drum.
LEIKO: "Taiko." They are traditional drums from the country of Japan. When I was just a wee little joey, my grandma took me to a "matsuri," a Japanese festival where really big taiko were being played.
[Traditional Japanese music plays, taiko drumming]
LEIKO: Hear that sound repeating over and over?
DESCRIPTION: Leiko dances.
LEIKO: That's a taiko drum pattern, and it makes me wanna dance.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts her hand up and jumps excitedly.
ZADIE: Oh, oh!
[Leiko laughs]
LEIKO: Yes, Zadie?
ZADIE: Could you teach us how to play the taiko drum?
[Light music notes play]
LEIKO: Sure, but first you'll need to find some things to make your own drums.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke puts up his hand.
ZEKE: Oh, oh! I want the barrel.
MALIK: You got it, Zeke. Come on, Zadie! Let's go find our own drums.
[Mr. E. grunts, light music plays]

[Mr. E. yells, slide whistle, liquid splashes, bottle thuds, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. loses his balance, the bottle flies out of his hands, and pink liquid spills all over him. He falls, and the bottle lands beside him.
MALIK: Hey, that sounds just like a drum. Mr. E, are you done with this bottle? Can I have it?
MR. E.: I am, indeed, done.
MALIK: Mm.
[Sniffs]
MALIK: Smells like strawberry.
DESCRIPTION: Malik picks up the bottle and walks away. Mr. E. smiles at him.
MR. E.: It tastes great on a snow cone. Come back for a free sample.
MALIK: I will. Thanks, Mr. E.
[Slide whistle, Mr. E. shouts, grunts, sighs, bucket rustles, jumps boing, cheerful music plays]

ZADIE: Huh?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays, bucket thuds]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie lifts the bucket and puts it on the grass.
ZADIE: Sorry! I didn't know you were in there.
[Zadie drums]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie hits the side of the bucket.
ZADIE: That bucket would make an awesome taiko drum. Can I use it?
KAT: It's all yours.
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie picks up the bucket and walks away.
ZADIE: Thank you very much.
[Zeke giggles]
DESCRIPTION: In the Creation Station, Zeke walks behind the barrel with Snout on his head. Malik and Zadie run in carrying the bottle and the bucket.
MALIK AND ZADIE: We found our drums!
[Drums thud]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zadie put their drums on the floor.
LEIKO: Wow! And they're such different shapes and sizes! Taiko drums are really neat because you can make two different sounds depending on where and how you hit them. You can hit here in the middle.
[Drumming]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko hits the top of the barrel.
LEIKO: Or you can knock the side like this.
[Tap]
DESCRIPTION: She hits the side of the barrel.
LEIKO: You can play lots of fun patterns using these two sounds. Listen.
[Leiko drums, taps]

[Children drum, tap, Zeke taps off-rhythm]
ZEKE: Aw, I made a mistake.
ZADIE: That's okay, Zeke. Let's try again.
MALIK: Ready? And...
[Children drum, tap]

[Children drum, tap]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko smiles and dances.

ZADIE: Yes, we would love to perform.
[Children drum, tap, Zeke taps off-rhythm, Snout squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke picks up Snout and holds the toy beside his ear.
ZEKE: Mmmmmm. Uh, Snout doesn't think we're ready for the show, because we keep forgetting the drum pattern.
LEIKO: You'll remember it. All you need is a little more practice.
[Leiko drums, taps, Zeke drums, taps]
MALIK: That's it, Zeke! You got it!
ZADIE: Let's decorate our drums with paint and stuff.
MALIK: Yeah!
ZEKE: No, thanks. I wanna go practise more, so I don't forget. Come on, Snout!
[Whoosh, slide whistle, barrel rumbles, whooshes, lively music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke throws Snout into the barrel and rolls it across the floor. The barrel rolls away from him, and he chases it through the doorway.
ZEKE: Oh, no! Snout!

QUIQUE: Muy bueno. I'm loving this washing machine beat, Zeke. Boomchachacha.
ZEKE: Washing machine? But I'm supposed to be playing the taiko pattern. How does it go again, Snout?
[Snout squeaks, slide whistle, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke throws Snout into the barrel and picks it up.
ZEKE: The washing machine sound made me forget. I gotta go learn the taiko pattern again. Bye, Quique.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke carries the barrel up the stairs. He carries it into the Creation Station, where Zadie and Malik paint their drums.
ZEKE: I forgot the taiko drum pattern. I need help.
[Thump]

[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The barrel rolls towards Kit, Kat, and Mr. E.
ZEKE: Oh, not again! Snout, come back!
[Kit and Kat scream, Mr. E. gasps, barrel thuds, snow rustles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat scuttle away, and Mr. E. stands on his snow cone maker. The barrel hits the snow cone maker, and snow covers Mr. E. Zeke. Slowly, Zeke approaches.
ZEKE: Oops, sorry, Mr. E.
[Snow rustles, slide whistle, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. shakes the snow off his face. He shakes off the rest of the snow and jumps to the ground.
ZEKE: Maybe some music will make you feel better. Wanna hear my taiko drum?
[Snow rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. wipes snow off his apron.
MR. E.: I suppose. I do enjoy a good beat from time to time.
[Zeke drums, taps, button clicks, maker rumbles, rattles, Zeke plays the snow cone maker beat]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. activates the snow cone maker.
MR. E.: Not bad! You sound just like my snow cone maker.
[Drumming and tapping stop]

ZEKE: Hey! That wasn't the taiko drum pattern. The snow cone maker made me forget. Again! Ugh!
[Barrel rumbles, soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke rolls the barrel away from the snow cone maker and back to the Creation Station. He picks up Snout and sits by the barrel.
ZEKE: Aw!
MALIK: What's wrong, Zeke?
ZEKE: It happened again! I forgot the taiko pattern.
[Zeke sighs]
MALIK: That's okay. Hey, if we play it together, that might help you remember it.
[Malik drums, taps, Zeke drums, taps]

ZEKE: You got it.
[Zeke drums, taps]

ZEKE: Yay! Snout, this time I'm gonna practise somewhere quiet so no other sound pattern will mess me up.
[Whoosh, cheerful music plays, snow thumps, leaves rustle]

KIT: Brr!
ZEKE: Sorry.
[Hammer bangs]
DESCRIPTION: On her deck, Super watches a mechanical hammer walk from nail to nail on boards. Zeke arrives, rolling the barrel.
SUPER: Hey, squish, what's up with that barrel?
ZEKE: It's my taiko drum. We're playing a concert at the Eat N' Greet, but it's really hard to remember the pattern.

[Zeke drums, taps, hammer bangs, drumming synchronizes with banging]

(Percussion synching)
ZEKE: And the hammer pattern!
[Whoosh]

[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Later, on the deck in front of the Eat and Greet, Mr. E. stands beside his snow cone maker. Kit and Kat walk away, each holding a snow cone.

[Upbeat music plays]

ZEKE: To keep forever?
LOUISA: Not forever, just seven days.
MALIK: Oh, a yo-yo. I've never seen one like this before.
LOUISA: That's a special yo-yo. When it goes up and down, it's supposed to light up and play a song, but it's broken. Now, the yo-yo just goes down and won't come back up.
[Whoosh, cheerful tune plays, Louisa gasps]

[Smoke puffs, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The thought bubble disappears.
ZADIE: Whoa! A toy blimp.
LOUISA: Oh, yeah, that's a good one. I used to play with that blimp all the time, but my arm got too tired holding it up and flying it around. If you see something you like, remember, you've gotta loan me one of your toys to borrow one of mine.
ZADIE: Let's go home and grab some toys to swap.

MALIK: Race you!

ZADIE: It's a finger puppet I made of Mr. E.
[Wheels rattle]

[Louisa gasps]

ZADIE: I gotcha! Now, it's your turn to be the monster, Beats.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zeke roll into the bedroom and stop by Zadie. Malik plays with the yo-yo, and Zeke holds the blocks.
MALIK: Hey, Zadie. We're going over to Louisa's to return the toys we swapped with her.
ZADIE: Huh? It's been seven days already?
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Malik runs to the calendar and gestures at the date.
MALIK: Yep. See the calendar? I made sure to have a plan to know when we have to swap our toys back.
ZADIE: I'll get Louisa's blimp and come with you. But where is that blimp?
[Upbeat music plays, whoosh, slide whistles, toys clatter]

ZADIE: Maybe it's in my hammock.
[Slide whistle, rustle, light music plays]

ZEKE: You know, it's kind of a long walk to Louisa's. Maybe we should bring a snack for the road, in case we get hungry?
MALIK: That's not a bad idea.
[The music stops]
ZADIE: It's not here. Malik, Zeke, do you know where Louisa's blimp is?
DESCRIPTION: They shake their heads. Zeke points at the toy pile.
[Light music plays]
ZEKE: Uh, I don't know. Maybe it's in there somewhere. Let's go get our snack, Malik.
[Slide whistle, rustle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke and Malik leave the room. Zadie jumps down and looks at the pile of books and toys.
ZADIE: In here?
[Boing, toys clatter]

ZADIE: Oh, no! Where could it be? Where could it be?
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zeke return.
MALIK: Ready to go, Zadie?
ZADIE: I, um...
[Clears her throat]
ZADIE: I, uh...
[Clears her throat]
ZADIE: Just remembered, I can't go right now. I have to, uh, wash my umbrella.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie takes a pink umbrella out of the pile and opens it.
ZADIE: Yeah.
[Zadie laughs nervously]
DESCRIPTION: Malik rolls his eyes.
MALIK: Okay, we're going to Louisa's. Remember to give her back her blimp today.
[Footsteps patter, light music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zeke leave, and Zadie throws her umbrella to the side.
ZADIE: Where could that blimp be?
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie searches in a trunk.
ZADIE: Uh, not here.
[Boings]

ZADIE: Mmmm. Not up here either!
[Thump, music stops]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie lies on her back in the middle of the room.
ZADIE: Oh, no! What if I lost Louisa's toy blimp?
[She groans]
ZEKE SHOUTS: Hey, Zadie, good news! We don't have to walk over to Louisa's.
ZADIE: Phewf!
ZEKE SHOUTS: Because she's here!
ZADIE: Oh, no! Louisa's here? But I don't know where her blimp is. I can't let her see me.
[Toys squeak, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie dives into the pile of toys. Louisa and Zeke enter the room, smiling. Louisa has the Mr. E. finger puppet on her finger.
[Light music plays]

ZEKE: Uh, who are you?
[Zadie clears her throat, upbeat music plays]
ZADIE AS DEMPSEY: Um, I'm Zadie's new friend, Dempsey Doodles. Nice to meet ya.
LOUISA: Nice to meet you, too, Dempsey Doodles. Do you know where Zadie went?
ZADIE AS DEMPSEY: I have no idea. She said something about an umbrella.
LOUISA: Well, if you see her, can you remind her to return my toy blimp today, please? I'm sure she wants her puppet back.
ZADIE AS DEMPSEY: Sure, sure, will do. Anyways, gotta run. You won't see me ever again. Tata!
[Slide whistle, soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie as Dempsey leaves the room. Louisa shrugs at Zeke. Outside, Zadie rolls to a pathway and takes off her Dempsey disguise.
ZADIE: Why can't I remember where I put that toy blimp?
[Sad music plays, tears drip]

ZADIE: If Louisa finds out I lost it, she might be so sad, she might never stop crying.
[Louisa cries, water sloshes]
DESCRIPTION: In the thought bubble, Louisa cries, and water rises to her windowsill. The thought bubble disappears.
ZADIE: I feel so bad, it's giving me a tummy ache. Maybe if I hide somewhere, Louisa won't find me, and, if she doesn't find me, she won't know I lost her toy. Hm. Where could I hide?
[Gasps, whoosh, sighs]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie rolls into a hole in a tree trunk.
ZADIE: If I had made a plan to help me keep track of the toy blimp, none of this would've happened.
[Sighs, rope swishes]
DESCRIPTION: Ellie skips rope past the tree.
ZADIE, IN THE TREE: It's so lonely in here.
[Soft music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Ellie stops and puts her skipping rope in her backpack. She walks to the hole in the tree.
ELLIE: Huh? Zadie? Is that you in there? What are you doing in there, Zadie?
DESCRIPTION: Zadie jumps onto the path.
ZADIE: I don't know. I just... Mm...
[She groans]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts her hands on her tummy.
ZADIE: My tummy.
DESCRIPTION: Ellie kneels beside Zadie.
ELLIE: Maybe I can help. Is there something bothering you?
DESCRIPTION: Zadie nods.
ELLIE: You can talk to me about it.
ZADIE: Okay. I borrowed a toy from Louisa, but I lost it. Now, she's going to be really sad. So, I hid in here. Oh, what am I going to do, Ellie?
DESCRIPTION: Ellie hugs Zadie.
ELLIE: Oh. Well, first we can try taking some deep breaths. That always helps me calm down. Here, I'll do them with you. In.
[Both inhale deeply]
DESCRIPTION: They both close their eyes.
ELLIE: Out.
[Both exhale deeply]
ELLIE: In.
[Both inhale deeply]
ELLIE: Out.
[Both exhale deeply]
ELLIE: Feeling any better?
DESCRIPTION: Zadie nods.
ZADIE: Uh huh.
[The music stops]
ELLIE: I can understand why you're so upset about losing Louisa's toy. You don't wanna disappoint your friend, but hiding isn't going to solve the problem.
ZADIE: But what can I do?
[Soft music plays]
ELLIE: What do you think you should do?
ZADIE: I should just tell Louisa what happened. It wouldn't be fair not to let her know what happened to her toy blimp.
ELLIE: I think that's a wonderful idea.
[Zipper unzips, slide whistle, rope rustles, zipper zips, backpack rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Ellie opens her backpack and takes out the skipping rope. She shows it to Zadie and then puts it back in her backpack.
ELLIE: Also, if you don't want to lose something, it's good to have a plan to keep track of it, like keeping it in the same place when you aren't using it. That way, you won't have to go searching for it. I always keep things I don't wanna lose in my backpack.
ZADIE: Thank you, Ellie. I'm going to go talk to Louisa now.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Ellie and Zadie hug.
ELLIE: I'm proud of you, Zadie.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: On the ground, Louisa sits at her toy exchange table. Zadie peers over a rock behind her.
ZADIE: Okay, Zadie. You've got this. No problem. In.
[Inhales deeply]
ZADIE: Out.
[Exhales deeply]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie walks to the table.
LOUISA: Oh, there you are. Do you know someone named Dempsey Doodles? He said he was a friend of yours.
ZADIE, QUICKLY: Louisa, I'm really sorry, but I lost your toy blimp.
[Zadie whimpers, Louisa gasps, sad music plays]
LOUISA: You did?
ZADIE: I didn't have a plan to help me keep track of it. So, now I don't know where it is, and I can't return it. I should've planned to always keep it in the same place when I wasn't playing with it. And I should've kept track of it when I needed to return it.
LOUISA: It's okay, Zadie. I understand.
ZADIE: You do? You mean you're not sad?
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa walks around the table.
LOUISA: Well, I am a little sad, but I know you didn't do it on purpose. It was an accident. I know that because I lose track of stuff all the time. Who knows? Maybe my toy blimp will turn up.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa hugs Zadie. Zadie gives Louisa the Mr. E. finger puppet.
ZADIE: Until then, you can just hold on to my puppet.
LOUISA: So, who is Dempsey Doodles?
ZADIE: Uh...
[Zadie laughs nervously, upbeat music plays, puzzle piece rustles]
DESCRIPTION: In her living room, Super puts a ship puzzle together.
SUPER: Hm. Oh!
[Piece rustles, door opens, whoosh, upbeat music plays, boing, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Super puts a piece in the puzzle, and Zadie rolls into the living room. She sits on the couch beside Super.
ZADIE: Guess what happened today, Grandma Super. I lost Louisa's toy blimp, but when I went to tell her, she forgave me, and now I feel a lot better. I never want to lose something special again.
[Slide whistle, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie thinks of the calendar and the backpack.
ZADIE: Next time I borrow a toy, I'm going to make a plan. I'm going to do what Malik did and keep track of when I have to return it. And I'll do what Ellie did and make sure to keep it in the same place the whole time.
SUPER: And you can also make a plan to keep your room neat and tidy, so you don't lose things in all the clutter.
ZADIE: I just hope no other kid ever has to lose something special like I did.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie snuggles with Super.
[The music stops]
SUPER: I have an idea. What if you share how important it is to make a plan with everyone in the Treeborhood so nobody has to go through the same thing you did?
[Ding, upbeat music plays]
ZADIE: That's a great idea! I know. I'll make a video. I can talk about everything I learned today about making a plan. I'm going to start making a video right now.
[Whoosh, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie runs away and then returns and hugs Super.
ZADIE: Thanks, Grandma Super.
[Cheerful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In her room, Zadie sets up her device on a tripod, pointing it at the pile of toys and books. She stands in front of the pile, smiling.
ZADIE: Hi, everyone. Zadie here. I just went through something hard today. I lost something very important, something I borrowed from a friend. That's why I'm making this video. Here's a plan for how we can make sure not to lose something like I did today. Here are three tips. Tip one. When you borrow something, it's important to keep track of it so you can return it. Calendars are super handy for this.
DESCRIPTION: She points the device at the calendar and points to the yo-yo.
ZADIE: Malik puts a big circle on his calendar to show when he has to return something, and exes out the days as they pass.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie moves the tripod back to the toy pile.
ZADIE: Tip two is to make sure your room is clean. Grandma Super says when your room is messy, it's easy to lose things in the mess.
[Whoosh, toy squeaks, toys rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie cleans up the toys.
ZADIE: See? All cleaned up. Now, it's easier to find things. And tip three, make a plan to always keep things that you don't wanna lose in the same place. That's what Ellie told me. If you always keep things in the same spot, you always know where to find them.
[Tripod bangs]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie points the tripod at her dresser.
ZADIE: For example, you can keep things in your dresser…
[Dresser scrapes, slide whistle, cheerful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie opens a dresser drawer and takes out the blimp.
ZADIE: It was in my dresser all along! Well, that's all I have for today. If you make a plan to follow these three tips, it'll help you not lose things. I'll see you later. I got a toy blimp to return.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa sits at her table with the airplane, the finger puppet, a stuffed toy, and a toy car. Zadie arrives with her hands behind her back.
ZADIE: Hey, Louisa! Look what I found.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays, blimp bangs]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie takes the blimp out from behind her back and gives it to Louisa. Louisa puts the blimp on the table and gives Zadie the puppet.
LOUISA: My toy blimp! Yay! Here's your Mr. E finger puppet.
[Light music notes play]
ZADIE: Now that I returned it, can I do another toy swap?
[The music stops]
LOUISA: Sorry, but my toy swap business is officially closed. But we can still play together. Want to play "airplanes"?
ZADIE: You're on.
[Both laugh, both imitate airplanes, happy music plays]
DESCRIPTION: On the grass, Louisa runs holding the blimp above her head. Zadie follows her, holding the airplane and the Mr. E. finger puppet.
[Upbeat music plays]

Yeah!
[Title] Work It Out Wombats.
[Episode Title] Tricky, Tricky, Taiko Drum.
[Opening Credits] Written by Jiro C. Okada. Directed by Jeff Barker, Andrea Gerstmann. Song by Kathy Waugh.
[Drumming]

[Thump, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: In a field in front of the Treeborhood, Malik kicks a soccer ball.
MALIK: Kick the ball, Zeke!
[Zeke grunts, thump, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke kicks the ball towards Zadie, who plays goalie.
ZEKE: Did I make it in?
[Thump]
DESCRIPTION: The ball lands in a barrel, and the barrel spins.
ZADIE: Yep, just not into the goal.
[Kit grunts, slide whistle, ball thumps]
DESCRIPTION: The ball bounces out of the barrel. Zeke runs to the barrel and crouches by the opening.
ZEKE: Hi, Kat. Hey, Kit. Where are you going with that barrel?
[Kit pants, light music plays]
KAT: To the Creation Station.
KIT: We're thinking Leiko could use it for an art project.
KAT: But at this rate, it will take us all day to get it there.
KIT: And we've got beans to take care of.
MALIK: We can take the barrel to the Creation Station for you.
[Rustle, plop]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat jump out of the barrel.
BOTH: Thanks!
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat scuttle away. Malik gives Zeke the ball and rolls the barrel. In the Creation Station, Leiki holds a book and looks at books on a bookshelf.
LEIKO: Let's see. Let's see. Baking for Beginners, Banjo Band Basics, a barrel barreling through the Creation Station.
DESCRIPTION: The barrel rolls into the room, and Zeke, Zadie, and Malik chase it.
CHILDREN: Ah!
[Exciting music plays]
LEIKO: That's gonna crash into our homemade bowls! Oh, no!
DESCRIPTION: The barrel rolls towards a table with unevenly shaped bowls on top. Malik jumps onto the barrel and wedges himself between it and the table.
ZADIE: Phew!
[Slide whistle, Malik grunts]
DESCRIPTION: The barrel rolls to Leiko, and Malik falls on the floor. Zeke runs to the barrel opening and shouts into it.
ZEKE: Hello, Leiko!
[Leiko chuckles]
ZADIE: We brought this barrel all the way up from the Sow N' Grow Garden. Kat and Kit thought you could use it.
DESCRIPTION: In front of the Everything Emporium, Mr. E unloads a bottle with a picture of a pink snow cone from a cart.
MALIK: Hi, Mr. E. Do you need a hand?
MR. E.: No, I've got it.
[Mr. E. yells, slide whistle, liquid splashes, bottle thuds, light music plays]

ZADIE: Drum, drum, drum. What can I use for a drum?
[Ting]

KIT: Ah!

LEIKO: Okay, now you try. Ready, and...
[Children drum, tap, Zeke taps off-rhythm]
ZEKE: Aw, I made a mistake.
ZADIE: That's okay, Zeke. Let's try again.
MALIK: Ready? And...
[Children drum, tap]
LEIKO: Hoohoo! Sounds great! Oh, you're makin' me wanna dance.
[Children drum, tap]
DESCRIPTION: Leiko smiles and dances.
LEIKO: Hey! Oh, Duffy's been wanting to do small lunch concerts at the Eat N' Greet Cafe. Would you wanna...
[Boing]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie jumps excitedly.
Snout!
[Slide whistle, whoosh]

ZEKE: Ah! Snout! Come back!
[Pants, barrel thuds, rumbles, Zeke pants, barrel thumps]

ZEKE: Snout, are you there?
QUIQUE SHOUTS: Ah!

ZEKE: Sorry, Quique.
[Slide whistles, Quique laughs, light music plays, basket rustles]

QUIQUE: Wow! Really? I would love to hear you play.
[Zeke drums, taps, water splashes, washer whirrs, taps]
DESCRIPTION: A mechanical arm drops into the tub and stirs the laundry. Zeke synchronizes his drumming to the noise of the washing machine.
[Thump]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke sets the barrel down and looks at the colourful painted drums.

MR. E.: With my new snow cone maker, you can make fluffy snow, crunchy snow, or my personal favourite.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: The barrel rolls towards Kit, Kat, and Mr. E.
ZEKE: Oh, not again! Snout, come back!
[Kit and Kat scream, Mr. E. gasps, barrel thuds, snow rustles, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat scuttle away, and Mr. E. stands on his snow cone maker. The barrel hits the snow cone maker, and snow covers Mr. E. Zeke. Slowly, Zeke approaches.
ZEKE: Oops, sorry, Mr. E.
[Snow rustles, slide whistle, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. shakes the snow off his face. He shakes off the rest of the snow and jumps to the ground.
ZEKE: Maybe some music will make you feel better. Wanna hear my taiko drum?
[Snow rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. wipes snow off his apron.
MR. E.: I suppose. I do enjoy a good beat from time to time.
[Zeke drums, taps, button clicks, maker rumbles, rattles, Zeke plays the snow cone maker beat]
DESCRIPTION: Mr. E. activates the snow cone maker.
MR. E.: Not bad! You sound just like my snow cone maker.
[Drumming and tapping stop]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke stops playing and narrows his eyes at the snow cone maker.
DESCRIPTION: Malki plays the taiko pattern on the barrel, and then Zeke plays.
ZEKE: You got it.
[Zeke drums, taps]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke picks up Snout.
ZEKE: Yay! Snout, this time I'm gonna practise somewhere quiet so no other sound pattern will mess me up.
[Whoosh, cheerful music plays, snow thumps, leaves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke spins the barrel and throws Snout inside. On the ground, Mr. E. creates two large snow cones beside his snow cone maker. Nearby, Kit and Kat rake leaves into a large pile.
ZEKE: Snout, come back with the barrel!
[Barrel rumbles, leaves rustle, exciting music plays, everyone shouts, barrel thumps, slide whistle, snow cones splat, teeth chatter]
DESCRIPTION: Kit and Kat drop their rakes and jump into the leaf pile. Mr. E. dives into the pile, and everyone watches the barrel roll past. The barrel bounces off the snow cone maker and hits the two large snow cones, which land on Kit and Kat’s faces.

ZADIE: Aw, Zeke. Did you forget the taiko drum pattern again?
ZEKE: I keep messing up over and over again because I keep hearing so many other sound patterns in the Treeborhood!
MALIK: Other sound patterns?
ZEKE: Uh huh, like the washing machine pattern...
[Slide whistle, washing machine bangs, whirrs, Zeke synchronizes his drumming, snow cone maker chugs, Zeke synchronizes his drumming, hammer bangs, Zeke synchronizes his drumming]

(Percussion synching)
ZEKE: And the hammer pattern!
[Whoosh]

[Shutters creak]

LOUISA: Did you not know that it's late? I'm kind of already in bed. I had three stories and water. I'll see you tomorrow.
[Shutters thunk]
DESCRIPTION: She closes her shutters.
[Song] Sleep tight. The day is over, night is on its way. High in the sky, Mr. E looks down on our sleepy Treeborhood town.

KIDS: Sorry, Mr. E.
[Blanket rustles, lips smack]

[Song] Sleep tight. The day is over, night is on its way. High in the sky, Super looks down on our sleepy Treeborhood Town.
[Light switch clicks]
DESCRIPTION: Super turns off the bedroom light.
SUPER SINGS: Close your eyes, turn out the light. Sleep tight.
SUPER: Good night, darling squishes.
[Upbeat music plays, Louisa hums]
DESCRIPTION: On the title card, Louisa arranges toys on a table, and Malik smiles at her. He takes a yo-yo and roller skates away.
[Episode Title] Toy Swap Flop.
[Opening Credits] Written by Cooper Sweeney. Directed by Jeff Barker.
[Cheerful music plays]
DESCRIPTION: On the ground, Louisa sits behind a table on a path. She has a stack of blocks, a yo-yo, a blimp, and an airplane on the table.
LOUISA: Be patient, toys. A customer will come by soon. I hope because all this waiting is boring.
[Wombats laugh, roller skates rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie, Zeke, and Malik roller skate past Louisa.
ZADIE: And Zadie zooms out ahead!
LOUISA: Hello! Welcome to Louisa's toy swap.
[Wheels screech, roller skates rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone roller-skates back to Louisa.
ZEKE: What's a "toy swap"?
[Upbeat music plays]
LOUISA: I'm glad you asked. I'm tired of playing with these toys, and I want to play with new toys, so I'm going to give a lucky customer one of my toys, and they're going to give me one of their toys in return. A toy swap.
DESCRIPTION: Malik plays with the yo-yo, and it lights up.
LOUISA: You fixed it!
ZEKE: Oh! Toy blocks!
LOUISA: Don't you already have a bunch of blocks at home?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Zeke imagines Snout on a stack of blocks.
ZEKE: Yeah, but I need more to finish building a tower for Snout to sit on. He likes to look out the window.
DESCRIPTION: Malik puts the yo-yo on the table.
MALIK: Race you!
[Whoosh, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The wombats roller skate away. They return with toys and line up at the table. Malik holds a bag of marbles.
LOUISA: Okay, what you got to swap?
MALIK: My marble collection.
[Marbles rattle, wheels rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa examines a blue marble through a magnifying glass. She gives Malik the yo-yo, and he skates away.
LOUISA: Hm. Marbles make a good swap. Here's the yo-yo. Zadie, what ya got to swap?
ZADIE: It's a finger puppet I made of Mr. E.
[Wheels rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie skates to the front of the line with a Mr. E. finger puppet on her finger.
ZADIE, IMITATING MR. E.: I'd like very much for you to accept me as a toy swap for the blimp.
LOUISA: You've got yourself a swap.
[Louisa gasps]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie takes the blimp and roller skates away. Zeke gives Louisa a rainbow clothespin.
LOUISA: A rainbow clothespin? Zeke, this is amazing. It would be my honour to play with this for a week. You really are my best bud.
[Blocks rattle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Louisa pushes the blocks to Zeke, who picks them up.
MALIK: Thanks for swapping toys with us, Louisa. It was fun.
[Roller skates rattle]
DESCRIPTION: The wombat children roller skate away from the table.
LOUISA: No, no, no, thank you. Just remember! Make sure you swap back the toys in one week. That's seven days!
[Marker squeaks, Zadie roars, toy squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Seven days later, Malik crosses a day off a calendar and circles a day with a drawing of a yo-yo. In the bedroom, Zadie leaps out of a pile of toys and books and grabs a green monster toy.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie searches the toy pile and rolls into the bathroom. Shovels, toys, a ball, and clothes fly out through the open door.
ZADIE: Maybe it's in my hammock.
[Slide whistle, rustle, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie rolls to her hammock and hops inside.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie pulls a snorkel mask out of the pile, puts it on, and dives in. She rolls out and takes off the mask.
[Boings]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie bounces on a pogo stick and looks at bookshelves.
LOUISA: Zadie, ready to swap back?
ZEKE: Huh? Where did she go? Zadie!
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie gets out of the pile wearing a cap, large blue sunglasses, a moustache, a red scarf, an orange sweater and blue glittering pants.
DESCRIPTION: In a thought bubble, Louisa looks out a window.
