Work It Out Wombats
Descriptive Transcript
[Slide whistle, rhythmic music plays]
DESCRIPTION: A staircase spirals around the tree trunk of the Treeborhood. Tiny houses are nestled in the tree. In the Wombat’s house, Malik, a blue-grey wombat, Zadie, a purple wombat, and Zeke, a yellow wombat, sleep in hammocks. They wake up, jump out of their hammocks, and high-five each other. Their grandmother, Super, a blue wombat with pink hair, pours milk and breakfast cereal into their bowls. Zeke holds his stuffed wombat, Snout. The children leave the house and slide across tree branches.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: When there's a problem, what do we say? Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Where there's a will, there's always way. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats.
ZADIE SINGS: We’ve got ideas for days.
MALIK SINGS: Solve problems lots of ways.
ZEKE SINGS: I love it when we play…
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: All together.
DESCRIPTION: Ellie, an orange moose, jumps on a trampoline, and her blue hat flies off. In a hot air balloon basket, Malik catches the hat and returns it to Ellie.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
ZADIE SINGS: Hey, I'm Zadie; bring on the problems. Try some different things 'til we solve 'em.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts apples on a table. The apples fall, and Zadie and Mr. E, a green iguana with a black bowler hat, pick the apples up.
[Whoosh, slide whistle]
MALIK SINGS: I'm Malik. We'll work it out, just wait. We make some plans, and then we build and create.
DESCRIPTION: Malik rides in a go-kart with his friend JunJun, a pink Philippine Eagle. They both wear helmets.
ZEKE SINGS: I'm Zeke, here's snout. We like to explore.
MALIK, ZADIE, AND ZEKE SING: Let's go do it, one, two, three, four. Help's never far away, that's for sure. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Come join the fun, you ready? Let's go. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Work it out, work it out, work it out, wombats. Yeah!

ZADIE: Oh, here it comes! Here comes the MooMoo ChooChoo!

SUPER: Time for the Wombat family train trip.
MALIK: Grandma, we can help you with the luggage.
SUPER: I've got it.
[Click, propellers whirr]
DESCRIPTION: Propellers pop up on top of each suitcase, and the luggage flies down to the ground.
CHILDREN: Whoa.
[Whoosh, Malik grunts]
DESCRIPTION: The children put on their backpacks. Zeke puts a tiny backpack on Snout. Malik helps Zadie put on her backpack, and she staggers.
ZADIE: Whoa!
[Slide whistles]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie and Malik slide down a slide. Zeke watches as Supper arrives carrying two boxes tied together with a ribbon.
ZADIE: Haha.
MALIK: Yay!
ZEKE: What's in those boxes?
SUPER WHISPERS: A surprise for Sylvia. Shh.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke looks at Snout.
ZEKE: Shh.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke and Super slide down the slide.
ZEKE: Woohoo!
SUPER: Whoopee!
[Train whistle toots, slide whistle, upbeat music plays]

CONDUCTOR: All aboard the MooMoo ChooChoo!
[Upbeat music continues, propellers whirr, boing]
DESCRIPTION: Super carries her boxes and boards the train behind the flying luggage. Zeke runs behind her. Zadie walks up the steps and loses her balance. Malik pushes her back to her feet.
ZADIE: Whoa.
MALIK: Think you might've overpacked a bit, Zadie? What's in there, anyway?
ZADIE: Snacks. It's our first overnight train trip. Got to have our favourite snacks.
[Boings]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie boards the train, and Malik follows her.
MALIK: Did you bring the whole kitchen?
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone sits in their own seat by a window.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Super looks over the back of her seat.
SUPER: I want to take a picture. Give me your best whoopdedoo MooMoo ChooChoo poses.
[Super chuckles, boing, camera shutter snaps, photo rustles, slide whistle, page rustles, gentle music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The children jump into the aisle. Super puts the photo in her photo album, and the children look over her shoulder from the back of her seat. She flips the page. A photo features a smiling wombat holding a whirligig and wearing a beanie with a propeller on top. Another image features a windmill with two turbines.
MALIK: That's our great uncle Duper, and he lives in the Winbourhood.
ZADIE: And that's his house. It's a windmill, and we get to sleep in it. And those are his, uh, spinny things.
MALIK: They're called whirligigs, and Great Uncle Duper makes them.
[Upbeat music plays, hats rustle]
DESCRIPTION: The conductor puts a striped conductor hat on each child’s hat and puts a tiny one on Snout.
CONDUCTOR: Well, we've got a ways to go before we get to Duper's windmill, so we better get a "mooove" on.
ZEKE: Excuse me, Sylvia. Snout wants to know if he can pull the train whistle.
DESCRIPTION: The conductor, Sylvia, leans towards Zeke and Snout. She winks at him.
SYLVIA: Sure thing. I'll let you know when it's time.
DESCRIPTION: Sylvia walks away, and Super carries the box to Zeke.
SUPER: Zeke, can you keep an eye on Sylvia's surprise while I go sit with her for a while?
ZEKE WHISPERS: What is it?
SUPER: It's Sylvia's favourite pie.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Super sits beside Zeke.
SUPER: I had her grandma Mooma send it to me as a thank you for taking us to see Duper.
ZEKE: And what's in this little box on top?
SUPER: Grandma Mooma must have had some leftover ingredients, so she made an extra itty-bitty, mini pie for whoever is keeping an eye on the big pie.
[Zeke gasps]
ZEKE: That's me and Snout.
SUPER: Then you and Snout should have it. Here you go.
[Squeak, munching, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shows Snout the mini pie and then nods Snout’s head. Zeke eats the mini pie.
ZEKE: Mmm. It's a "yummy, crumbly crust, sweet and gooey, tastes so fruity filling, sprinkled with nuts" pie.
[Shutter snaps, photo whirrs]
DESCRIPTION: Super takes a photograph of Zeke eating his mini pie. Behind them, Zadie walks to Malik’s seat.
ZADIE WHISPERS: What are Super and Zeke whispering about?
MALIK: I can't hear a thing, but let's move closer. But act casual.
[Zadie and Malik whistle]
ZEKE: Can I see the big pie?
[Exciting music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Super lifts the box lid and shows Zeke the pie.
ZEKE: Whoa! I won't tell anyone about the surprise.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Super leaves and Zadie and Malik pop up behind Zeke’s seat. Zeke holds the pie box on his lap.
ZADIE: A surprise? What is it?
ZEKE: I can't tell you.
[Whoosh, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik and Zadie look out the window at a flat, grassy plain with trees and rocks.
SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: As we chuggachuggamoomoo through Flatty Flatland, there's not much to see. So, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
MALIK: Yeah. Not much to see out there. It's kind of boring.
[Malik gasps, whoosh, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie and Malik look over the top of Zeke’s seat.
MALIK: I know, I know, I know! Let's play "What am I?"
ZEKE: How do you play "What am I?"
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie sits on the seat beside Zeke.
MALIK: I think up what I am, and you and Zadie try to guess what I am. But you can only ask yes or no questions until you work it out.
ZEKE: Got it.
[Upbeat music plays]
MALIK: I'll go first. Hmm. Okay. What am I?
ZADIE: Are you big?
MALIK: Nope.
ZEKE: Are you small?
MALIK: Yes.
ZADIE: Are you a square?
MALIK: No.
ZEKE: Are you a circle?
MALIK: Yes.
ZADIE: So, you're a small circle something.
[She gasps]
ZADIE: Are you a toy?
MALIK: Yes.
ZADIE: Are you a toy that you love a lot?
MALIK: Yes.
ZADIE: And go up and down?
MALIK: Yes.
ZEKE: Are you a yo-yo?
[Malik chuckles]
MALIK: Yes! You worked it out, Zeke.
[Slide whistles]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke high-fives Snout. Malik takes out a blue yo-yo and plays with it.
MALIK: A yo-yo is small and shaped like a circle. It's a toy I love. It's on a string, and it goes up and down. Now, it's your turn.
ZADIE: I have an idea for Zeke's turn. What if we try to guess what’s in that box by playing "What am I?”
[Zeke chuckles]
ZEKE: Okay, but you'll never guess.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie draws a square in the air.
ZADIE: I'll go first. Hmm. You're in a square box. So, are you a square?
ZEKE: No.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shakes his head. Malik draws a triangle in the air.
MALIK: Are you a triangle?
ZEKE: No.
ZADIE: Are you round like a circle?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie draws a circle in the air, and Zeke nods his head.
ZEKE: Yes.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik imagines a pizza box.
MALIK: It looks like a box pizza comes in. Are you a food that's round?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik draws a circle in the air, and Zeke nods.
ZEKE: Yes.
[Pop]
DESCRIPTION: Malik imagines a pizza in a box.
MALIK: Aha! You're a pizza. A pizza is a round food that comes in a square box.
[Zeke laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shakes his head.
ZEKE: No. I'm not a pizza.
[Malik gasps, pop]
DESCRIPTION: Malik imagines a cake in a box.
MALIK: Are you a cake? A cake can be round.
[Zeke laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shakes his head.
ZEKE: No, but you're kind of close.
[Pop, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie imagines a pie in a box and draws a circle in the air with her finger.
ZADIE: What else is a round food? Oh. I know. A pie. A pie is round. Are you a yummy pie?
[Happy music flourish plays]
ZEKE: Yes. A "yummy, crumbly crust, sweet and gooey, tastes so fruity filling, sprinkled with nuts" pie.
ZADIE: How do you know how it tastes?
ZEKE: There was an itty-bitty Mini pie for Snout, and he let me taste it. And the big pie is a surprise for Sylvia, and Grandma asked me to keep an eye on it for her.
DESCRIPTION: In the locomotive, Super sits beside Sylvia.
SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: Attention, passengers. We're going over Loopy Loop Mountain, so return to your seats and buckle in.
[Seat belts click]
DESCRIPTION: Seatbelts slide down over the passengers and fasten. The train drives up and down steep mountain foothills.
SYLVIA: Whee! Yeah. Whee!
SUPER: Woohoo!
MALIK: Woohoo!
ZEKE: Wee!
ZADIE: Yay!
ZEKE: Yay.
[Box thumps, Zeke gasps]
DESCRIPTION: The pie box bounces away from Zeke on the seat.
ZEKE: The pie! Oh, no.
[Thumps, slide whistles]
DESCRIPTION: The pie box flies towards Malik.
MALIK: I got it.
ZADIE: I got it.
[Slide whistle, thump]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie catches the box, it opens, and the pie flies out the window.
ZADIE: I don't got it.
[Pie splats]
DESCRIPTION: The pie falls on the road.
ZEKE: Oh, no! Sylvia's surprise pie is gone. Now I probably won't even get to pull the train whistle.
[Click, train chugs, seatbelts click]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke unbuckles Snout and hugs him. The train leaves the hills and drives onto a flat road. The seat belts unfasten, and Zadie and Malik walk over to Zeke.
MALIK: It's not your fault, Zeke. It was an accident.
[Exciting music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie imagines a time machine landing near an origami dinosaur. Zeke sits between the pie box and Snout, and all three wear seat belts fastened. A purple dinosaur walks to Zeke.
ZADIE: I know. What if we built a time machine and went back to the time before the pie flew out the window, and we stopped it from flying out the window, and then we could also visit dinosaurs?
[Light music plays]
MALIK: Or we could make Sylvia a new pie. But out of what?
[Zadie gasps, backpack rustles, snacks rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie grabs her backpack and empties it on the seat beside Zeke. Crackers, a jar of honey, resealable plastic bags with snacks, small jars, and spoons land in a pile.
ZADIE: Out of these snacks.
ZEKE: Do we have "yummy, crumbly crust, sweet and gooey, tastes so fruity filling, sprinkled with nuts" kind of snacks to make a pie?
MALIK: Hmm. Maybe. We should at least try. To make the pie, you need to tell us what you ate when you tried the itty-bitty mini pie.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik takes out his device and stylus, and makes a list of crust crumbs, liquid dripping off a spoon, an apple, and nuts.
ZEKE: Yummy, crumbly crust, sweet and gooey, tastes so fruity filling, sprinkled with nuts.
ZADIE: Oh, oh, oh! I got it. I got it. We can work out the ingredients by asking Zeke to give us yes or no answers, like playing "What am I?"
MALIK: Great idea, Zadie. Let's see. Crumbly crust. Crumbly. Hmm. A cracker is crumbly. Was it a salty, crumbly crust like this cracker?
[Package rustles, crunch, munching, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke eats a cracker.
ZEKE: No.
ZADIE: Was it a sweet, crumbly crust, like this Graham cracker?
[Crunching]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie opens a box of Graham crackers and gives Zeke one.
ZEKE: Yes.
ZADIE: Great. Was it a crumbly crust on top of the pie?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke remembers the mini pie.
ZEKE: No.
MALIK: Was it a crumbly crust only on the bottom of the pie?
DESCRIPTION: Zeke remembers the mini pie.
ZEKE: Yes. Crust was on the bottom.
[Rustle, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie pours Graham crackers into the empty pie tin and throws the box away.
ZADIE: Okay. Graham crackers for the crumbly crust, bottom only.
MALIK: Okay. Next is sweet and gooey. What do we have that's sweet and gooey?
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik points at a bottle of caramel.
MALIK: Let's try this caramel.
[Slurping]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie gives Zeke a spoon with caramel. He eats it and licks his lips.
ZEKE: Mmm. Yummy, but that's not it.
MALIK: Well, let's try this gooey sunflower seed butter.
[Rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie gives Zeke a spoon with sunflower seed butter.
ZEKE, WITH HIS MOUTH FULL: Nope. That's not it, either.
ZADIE: Honey?
ZEKE: Honey!
DESCRIPTION: Zeke eats honey.
ZEKE: That's it.
MALIK: Good. Second ingredient is honey.
[Slide whistle, honey glugs]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie pours honey on the pie crust.
MALIK: Next: tastes of fruity filling.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Malik points at a banana.
MALIK: Like a banana?
[Peel rustles, Zeke chews]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke peels the banana and eats some. He shakes his head.
ZEKE: Nope.
ZADIE: Like an orange?
[Munching]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie gives Zeke an orange slice.
ZEKE: Yes! That's it.
DESCRIPTION: Zadie pours orange slices onto the honey.
ZADIE: Whoa. It really looks like a pie, with the sweet and gooey fruity filling and a crumbly bottom crust.
MALIK: The last thing is the pie had some kind of nut. Was it a big nut like this?
DESCRIPTION: Zadie holds two resealable plastic bags with nuts.
ZADIE: Or was it a small nut, like this?
ZEKE: It was a small nut, like this.
[Almonds rattle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie puts almonds on top of the oranges.
MALIK: I think we've got it. A pie with a crumbly, brown, Graham cracker crust, a sweet, gooey honey, fruity orange filling, and almond nuts sprinkled on top.
ZEKE: We worked it out.
[Fists thump, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The children fist-bump. In the locomotive, Super sits beside Sylvia.
SUPER: Can we stop for a bit, Sylvia? I've got a snacky surprise for you.
SYLVIA: I will always stop for a snacky surprise.
[Wheels rustle, air hisses]
DESCRIPTION: The train stops.
[Door opens, closes, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Super and Sylvia enter the passenger car.
SUPER: I had your grandma Mooma make you your favourite pie, Sylvia, to thank you for taking us to see Duper.
[Sylvia claps]
SYLVIA: Oh, goody goody goody!
[Light music plays]
ZEKE: Uh, well, um, something kind of bad happened. The pie flew out of the window on Loopy Loop Mountain.
MALIK AND ZADIE: Sorry, Sylvia.
SYLVIA: Now, don't you kiddos think about it for another minute. It wasn't your fault.
[Lid rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke holds up the pie box and takes off the lid.
ZADIE: But we made a new pie for you, kind of, sort of like Grandma Mooma's, but probably not exactly the same.
ZEKE: Try it.
[Dings]
DESCRIPTION: Sylvia tries the pie.
SYLVIA: Hmm. Crumbly crust, sweet, gooey, filling, fruity, nuts. Doesn't taste at all like Grandma Mooma's pie.
CHILDREN: Aw.
[Exciting music flourish plays]
SYLVIA: It tastes even better! But don't tell Grandma Mooma that.
[Children cheer, giggle, upbeat music plays, door opens, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Sylvia winks.
SYLVIA: We'll finish eating that pie later. Right now, it's time to chugga chugga moomoo. We got to get you to Great Uncle Duper's. Oh, and Zeke? It's time for you and Snout to blow the whistle.
ZEKE: Yes!
[Train whistle toots, train chugs]

[Slide whistle]

ZEKE: Snout says being patient is too hard. He wants to go to Great Uncle Duper's house now.

ZEKE: I see something peeking over that hill, and it's blue, my favourite colour.
ZADIE: And it's curvy.
MALIK: And it's huge. What is it?
DESCRIPTION: The train rounds a bend, and a giant blue jellybean shines at the top of a hill.
ZEKE: It's a giant jellybean.

MALIK: My favourite part was when we were floating in space. Grandma, what's the next thing we're going to see?
[Boings, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik jumps on his seat.
SUPER: Oh, you're going to flip when you see these, Malik. You love these items so much that you collect them.

MALIK: It's a ride?
[Bar squeaks]

SYLVIA: I'm not just a train conductor. I'm also a yo-yo ride operator.
[Ride creaks]

MALIK: Whee!
ZADIE: Ooh, yeah.
ZEKE: Whee!

ZADIE: I loved how the yo-yo went around and around and around and made me so dizzy.
[Whoosh, string rattles]

MALIK: I love the way it lights up, just like my favourite yo-yo.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke holds up a blue jellybean.
ZEKE: And I loved...
ZADIE, MALIK, AND SUPER: That it was blue, like the jellybean?
ZEKE: Yeah. How'd you know?
[Everyone giggles, upbeat music plays, train chugs]
SUPER: This is the winbourhood. We're almost to my brother Duper's place. Oh, I can't wait to see him!
ZEKE: Grandma, you have to be patient.
[Super chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Malik looks out the window at houses, spinning, whirligigs, and blowing windsocks.
MALIK: Those might be Great Uncle Duper's handmade whirligigs.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie jumps up on the back of Super’s chair.
ZADIE: But Grandma, what's the last really big thing? Sylvia said there were four, and we only saw three.
DESCRIPTION: The children look through the window at Uncle Duper’s windmill.
SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: Just over this hill, you will see Winbourhood's very own world's biggest whirligig, made by none other than your very own great uncle Duper.
[Disappointed music notes descend]
DESCRIPTION: Everyone stares open-mouthed.
ZEKE: Huh? That's not a huge whirligig. That's just a bunch of little whirligigs and Great Uncle Duper's windmill house.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Turbines spin on the windmill.
SUPER: Huh. That's weird.
[Bicycle horn honks, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Beside the train, Uncle Duper rides a penny-farthing and squeezes a horn.
CHILDREN: Great Uncle Duper!
DESCRIPTION: The train stops, and the children and Super hop out.
UNCLE DUPER: Super!
SUPER: Duper!
[Hands slap, Uncle Duper laughs]
DESCRIPTION: Super and Uncle Duper high-five, move their hands, clasp hands, and then hug.
UNCLE DUPER: Bring it in, squish nuggets.
[Everyone laughs]
DESCRIPTION: The children hug Uncle Duper and knock him over.
UNCLE DUPER: Well, hello, Sylvia. How are you?
SYLVIA: Good, but what happened to the world's biggest whirligig?
[Slide whistles, exciting music plays, wind gusts]
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper stands. In a flashback, the legs on a dragon-shaped whirligig spin, and it flies off a pole.
UNCLE DUPER: Oh, that's a bit of a sad tale, I'm afraid. Just yesterday, it was a really, really windy day. I went out to check on my dragon whirligig when the wind kicked up just a notch, and the world's biggest whirligig blew away.
[Soft music plays]
CHILDREN: Aw.
SUPER: That's too bad. I know you worked really hard making that one.
[Soft music plays]
UNCLE DUPER: Mmhmm. And now, everyone in the winbourhood is in a sad funk. They want me to design a new one, but I just can't seem to come up with an idea for what I should make.
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper sits on a tree stump.
UNCLE DUPER: Oh, I am stumped. I have Duper's block. It's like artist's block, but for Dupers.
[Boings]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie jumps around Uncle Duper.
ZADIE: Hmm. I have an idea. We can help you think of a new world's biggest whirligig. We could work together and imagine what it could be.
[Upbeat music plays]
UNCLE DUPER: Ha! Yes. I love that idea.
SYLVIA: I'd love to help, but I've got to get going. I have more passengers to pick up. I'll come back later to pick you up.
[Train chugs, whistle toots]
DESCRIPTION: Sylvia drives away, and everyone waves.
ZADIE: Bye, Sylvia. See you soon.
[Train whistle toots, light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper, Super, and the children lie on their backs on the grass.
ZADIE: Close your eyes and imagine what kind of whirligig we can make.
MALIK: Whirligigs spin. What kind of things spin?
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays, slide whistles, pinwheel whooshes]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke imagines a giant spinning blue jellybean cut-out with a propeller beanie on top.
ZEKE: I know. I know. I know. Here's what I imagine. A giant blue jellybean could spin if it had a pinwheel beanie like Great Uncle Duper's.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays, horn blows]
DESCRIPTION: Zadie imagines a whirligig shaped like herself riding a pink unicorn. Purple and pink wings spin on each side. Glitter shoots up into the air.
ZADIE: But there's already a world's biggest jellybean, Zeke. Here's what I imagine. It's a giant Zadie on a unicorn, throwing glitter in the air.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Malik imagines an Uncle Duper whirligig holding three spinning blue yo-yos.
MALIK: Uh, it should be Great Uncle Duper, not you. Here's what I imagine. It's Great Uncle Duper with a yo-yo in each hand.
ZADIE: I like my idea better.
ZEKE: I like my idea better.
MALIK: My idea is the best.
ZEKE: No way.
MALIK: Uh, yes way.
ZEKE: Jellybean.
ZADIE: Glitter.
MALIK: Yo-yo.
[Slide whistle, Uncle Duper whistles]
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper jumps to his feet and puts his fingers in his mouth.
UNCLE DUPER: Uh, Super, you remember what Granny used to do when we'd argue over ideas?
SUPER: Imagination orchestration.
[Slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: The children shrug.
UNCLE DUPER: That's right. Okay. Here are the rules. I am going to be the conductor.
[Triumphant music flourish plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: Zeke shrugs.
UNCLE DUPER: A conductor is the leader of the orchestra.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke nods, then shrugs.
[Slide whistle, whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Duper points and then holds his hand with his palm facing outward.
UNCLE DUPER: When I point to you, you can talk. And when I hold up my hand like this, you stop. Then, I point at someone else. Ready?
[Upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The children stand.
CHILDREN: Yes.
[Inspiring music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper spins and holds up a conducting baton.
SUPER: And now, presenting the world's most famous imagination conductor, the Great Duperino.
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The children bow. Super smiles and sits on the tree stump.
SUPER: And his imagination orchestra, the wonderful Wombats.
[Whoosh, slide whistles, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Uncle Duper points his baton at Zadie. As he points his baton at each child, the child speaks.
ZADIE: Here's what I imagine. Our giant whirligig should be of a giant wombat, just like...
[Whoosh, slide whistle, pop]
DESCRIPTION: A large Uncle Duper-shaped whirligig appears with arms that have a hand at each end and can spin.
MALIK: Great Uncle Duper. And he could be...
[Whoosh, slide whistle]
ZEKE: Sitting on a great big, huge...
[Whoosh, slide whistle, pop]
DESCRIPTION: A bicycle appears beneath the Uncle Duper whirligig.
ZADIE: Wind-powered bicycle. And he could be holding...
[Pop]
DESCRIPTION: An orange yo-yo appears at each end of the hands for a total of four yo-yos.
MALIK: Huge yo-yos in each hand. And they could be...
[Pop]
DESCRIPTION: The yo-yos change to blue.
ZEKE: Blue.
[Pop]
DESCRIPTION: A propeller beanie appears on the head of the whirligig.
ZADIE: He could wear his propeller beanie, and as it spins...
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: On the whirligig, the propeller spins, and the arms move up and down.
MALIK: He flaps his arms up and down, and the yo-yos go up and down...
[Glitter rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Glitter sprays out of the beanie.
ZADIE: And out of his hat comes glitter...
[Jellybeans rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Jellybeans fly out of the beanie.
ZEKE: And jellybeans.
MALIK: The end.
[Rustling, arms rattle, upbeat music plays, pop]
DESCRIPTION: Jellybeans and glitter fly out of the beanie of the whirligig as the propeller and the arms spin. The imagined whirligig disappears, and Super stands.
SUPER: And the crowd goes wild! They love that idea.
[Boings, Uncle Duper laughs]
DESCRIPTION: The children jump excitedly.
UNCLE DUPER: You bet they do. You three have quite the imaginations. Let's build it.
[Upbeat music plays, ladder thunks, saw grinds, spokes tap, sander buzzes, Super whistles, wood thunks, whoosh, slide whistle, paint squelches, saw buzzes]
DESCRIPTION: Super carries a ladder outside, and Zeke follows her, holding a smaller step ladder. He bumps into the door frame, and Super rushes back inside and points him in the right direction. Super and Uncle Duper cut wooden poles with a cross-cut saw. The children pick them up and use them as spokes in a wheel. Super sands a round piece of wood. She whistles, and Malik helps her carry the wood. Everyone helps assemble a giant yo-yo, and the children wrap a rope around it. They tie themselves to the yo-yo and laugh. The children paint wheels as Uncle Duper cuts out the whirligig shaped like him.
[Wind gusts, wood bangs, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: The wind blows the wood behind the whirligig down. Nearby, Zeke holds a whirligig and flies up into the air. Zadie grabs his legs, and Malik grabs hers. They fall, and Super catches them. Later, everyone stands together, looking up.
CHILDREN: Whoa! Look at that.
UNCLE DUPER That is...
SUPER: A...
UNCLE DUPER: Doozy!
[Super and Uncle Duper laugh, rustle, upbeat music plays, jellybeans rattle]
DESCRIPTION: The bicycle wheels, arms, and propeller spin on the whirligig. Glitter and blue jellybeans spray from the top of the propeller. Zeke runs beneath the jellybeans with his hands out.
ZEKE: This is the best day of my life!
UNCLE DUPER: I dare say that we are the only folks on earth who could've worked together to imagine a whirligig like that.
DESCRIPTION: Zeke points.
ZEKE: Look. Here comes the MooMoo ChooChoo.
[Upbeat music plays, train chugs, camera shutters snap]
DESCRIPTION: Sylvia drives the train, and passengers take pictures of the whirligig.
SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: And on your right is the world's biggest, most imaginative whirligig I've ever seen. Moomoo!
CHILDREN, SUPER, AND UNCLE DUPER: We worked it out!
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The wombats leap into the air.
[Upbeat music plays]

Yeah!
Title: Work It Out Wombats.
Episode title: The Wombat Family Road Trip.
[Train whistle toots]
DESCRIPTION: On the title card, a lilac and white spotted cow with a pink mane dances. They wear eyeglasses, a striped hat, and a purple shirt. They move their arm up and down, imitating pulling on a train horn.
[Opening Credits] Written by Deanna Oliver. Directed by Jeff Barker, Andrea Gerstmann. Song by Ron Holsey.
[Light music plays]
DESCRIPTION: On his front deck, Malik looks over the rolling hills and winding road.
MALIK: See anything, Zadie?
ZADIE: Nope. How about you, Zeke?
DESCRIPTION: Zadie stands beside Malik, and Zeke stands on her other side.
ZEKE: Nu huh. How about you, Snout?
DESCRIPTION: Beside Zeke, Snout stands behind binoculars, lying on the deck railing.
ZEKE: Snout doesn't see anything, either.
WOMAN: Moo moo!
[Train whistle toots, upbeat music plays, slide whistle]
DESCRIPTION: A train pulling three cars drives on the road.
ZADIE: Oh, here it comes! Here comes the MooMoo ChooChoo!
DESCRIPTION: In front of the front door, Super holds four suitcases.
DESCRIPTION: The train stops, and the purple-and-white cow, the train conductor, leans out the locomotive window.

MALIK: And it's huge. What is it?

ZEKE: It's a giant jellybean.
SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: Next stop, the world's biggest jellybean.

ZEKE: My tummy can't wait to eat it.
DESCRIPTION: Super grabs Zeke and pulls him away from the jellybean.
ZEKE: Uh, hey!
SUPER: Sorry, squish. This isn't a jellybean you can eat.

SUPER: Go for it, my little squish.
[Click, light music plays]

ZADIE: I collected a bunch of glitter as a souvenir, because the glitter was my favourite part.
ZEKE: I liked how the glitter was blue, because it reminded me of the blue jellybean.

SYLVIA, VIA SPEAKER: Up ahead, it's the world's biggest yo-yo.

MALIK CHEERS: Woohoo! Yeah.
SUPER: Told you you'd flip.
[Whoosh]
DESCRIPTION: Malik takes a blue yo-yo out of his pocket.
MALIK: It's exactly like my favourite yo-yo, only huge.
[Slide whistles, upbeat music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The train stops, and Malik runs to the giant yo-yo. An adult and a child hop out of a passenger car at the bottom.
MALIK: It's a ride?
[Bar squeaks]
DESCRIPTION: Super sits in a passenger car, and the children sit in the car behind her. Sylvia lowers the safety bar in front of the children.
