In live-action, a brown-haired girl with bangs wears their hair in pigtails. She wears a blue zipper hoodie with colourful polka dots. At a table, the brown-haired girl puts a teddy bear wearing a yellow rain jacket and red rain boots in a small bin. Behind her, a woman with short, brown hair and glasses on her head wearing a dark blue T-shirt urges a boy with short, brown hair wearing a zipper hoodie with dinosaurs on it toward the table.
A child narrates, ME AND MY FRIEND ISABELLE
ARE GOING TO
DO SOME SCIENCE WITH MY NANA
TO FIND OUT WHICH MATERIAL
IS BEST FOR KEEPING TEDDY DRY.
Nana, the brown-haired woman, asks, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT MATERIAL THIS IS?
Tthe brown-haired girl, Isabelle, and the brown-haired boy look at pieces of disposable towels.
They both say, PAPER TOWEL.
Nana says, A PAPER TOWEL.
The brown-haired boy says, AND IT FEELS... CRUNCHY.
Nana asks, AND WHAT ABOUT THIS MATERIAL?
She picks up a blue cloth.
Nana asks, HOW DOES THIS FEEL?
Isabelle and the brown-haired boy feel the cloth.
They say, SOFT.
The brown-haired boy says, IT'S FABRIC.
Nana grabs a piece of purple plastic sheeting.
She asks, AND WHAT MATERIAL IS THIS?
Isabelle and the brown-haired boy feel the sheeting.
They say, PLASTIC.
Nana says, YEAH. AND HOW DOES THIS FEEL?
Isabelle says, SCRUNCHY.
The brown-haired boy says, SMOOTH.
Isabelle says, AND SMOOTH.
Nana says, AND SMOOTH.
The brown-haired boy, the narrator, says, LET'S START WITH A PAPER TOWEL.
Nana and the brown-haired boy hold the paper towel over the teddy bear.
Isabelle says, I THINK THE WATER'S GOING TO GO THROUGH AND LAND ON TEDDY.
With a toy watering can, Isabelle pours water onto the paper towel, and it drops onto the teddy.
Nana asks, CAN YOU SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Isabelle looks under the paper towel at the water dripping through.
She says, TEDDY'S GETTING WET.
The brown-haired boy narrates, THE PAPER TOWEL ISN'T WATERPROOF.
Nana says, HERE WE GO. ARE YOU READY?
Nana and Isabelle hold the blue cloth over the teddy.
The brown-haired boy narrates, NOW, WE'RE GOING TO SEE IF THE FABRIC IS WATERPROOF.
Nana asks, WHAT DO WE THINK'S GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME?
Isabelle says, I THINK IT'S GOING TO GO THROUGH A BIT.
The brown-haired boy pours water from the watering can onto the blue cloth. The water drips through onto the teddy.
Isabelle says, TEDDY'S GETTING WET.
The brown-haired boy narrates, THE FABRIC ISN'T WATERPROOF EITHER.
Nana says, RIGHT, NOW, SHALL WE TRY THE PLASTIC?
She and Isabelle hold the purple plastic sheeting over the teddy.
The brown-haired boy narrates, LET'S SEE IF THE PLASTIC IS WATERPROOF.
He pours water from the watering can onto the purple sheeting. No water drips through.
Nana asks, WHAT'S HAPPENING, HUGO?
Hugo, the brown-haired boy, narrates, THE WATER ISN'T GOING THROUGH!
The water pools in the plastic.
Hugo narrates, PLASTIC IS VERY GOOD
AT KEEPING TEDDY DRY
BECAUSE IT IS WATERPROOF.
Nana asks, AND WHAT ELSE CAN. WE SEE THAT'S WATERPROOF?
Isabelle says, WELLIES! TEDDY HAS WELLIES.
Nana says, HE DOES!
Isabelle picks up the teddy, revealing the red rainboots, also known as wellies, on the teddy’s feet.
Nana says, WE'VE GOT WELLIES. SHALL WE GO AND PLAY IN OUR WELLIES?
Isabelle and Hugo cheer, YEAH!
Nana says, COME ON, THEN.
Isabelle puts the teddy down and follows Hugo toward the door. Outside, Isabelle, Hugo and Nana jump in puddles wearing rain boots.
Hugo narrates, WE LOVE SCIENCE!
[Cheerful music plays]
In Jojo’s world, Jojo and Gran Gran sit on the living room couch.
Jojo asks, CAN WE DO MORE SCIENCE TOMORROW?
Gran Gran says, OF COURSE.
SCIENCE IS
ALL ABOUT ASKING QUESTIONS,
LIKE WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?
AND WHAT MAKES COCOA TEA SWEET?
Jojo says, AND WHO GIVES THE BEST HUGS!
Gran Gran says, OH!
WE DON'T NEED SCIENCE
TO FIND THAT OUT!
YOU DO.
Jojo says, I LOVE YOU, GRAN GRAN.
She hugs Gran Gran.
Gran Gran says, OH, AND I LOVE YOU TOO, JOJO.
She hugs Jojo close.
