On another day, Jojo and Gran Gran roll down a grassy hill. In the fall, Jojo throws leaves in the air.
The singer sings, WHEN THE AUTUMN RAINFALL TURNS TO WINTER SNOW, I KNOW A SPECIAL PLACE, A PLACE WHERE WE CAN GO.
In the winter, a black-haired man with a neatly trimmed beard, Jarrod, makes a snowman. He waves as Jojo and Gran Gran walk by in their winter coats. In the Spring, Gran Gran’s grey-haired neighbour, Cynthia, waters the flowers in her front garden. Jojo and Gran Gran wave on their way to Gran Gran’s house.

On a bright summer day, people wait at a bus stop. Behind the bus stop, Gran Gran, Jojo and Lexi walk past a bicycle rack towards a large grey building.
Gran Gran narrates, IT WAS A SUMMER MORNING, THE SUN WAS SHINING, THE SUNFLOWERS WERE BURSTING WITH COLOUR, AND JOJO, HER COUSIN LEXI, AND GRAN GRAN, THAT'S ME, WERE WALKING TO THEIR SWIMMING LESSON.
Jojo says, I CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU WHAT WE'VE LEARNED, GRAN GRAN.

Reeni asks, ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR SWIMMING LESSON?
Jojo and Lexi reply, YES!
Reeni asks, CAN YOU REMEMBER WHAT WE'VE ALREADY LEARNED?

Lexi and Jojo swim the front crawl to Reeni and back again.

Gran Gran says, WHAT FAST KICKS! WOO HOO!
Jojo and Lexi hold onto the edge of the pool.
[Jojo sighs]
Jojo says, I LOVE SWIMMING LESSONS.

Jojo says, OOH!
[Jojo giggling]
Reeni takes two orange pool noodles off the deck and gives them to Jojo and Lexi.
Reeni says AND WE'LL USE THESE NOODLES TO HELP.
Jojo says, THANK YOU.
Lexi says, THANKS, REENI.
Jojo asks, CAN YOU COME IN, GRAN GRAN?
Lexi pleads, PLEASE?
Gran Gran says, OH.
[Reeni laughing]
Gran Gran says, OKAY.
Gran Gran stands up.
Gran Gran says, PANDA, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK AFTER MY BAG.
Gran Gran puts Panda on the lounge chair and puts sunglasses on Panda’s face.
[Thumping, water sloshing]
Gran Gran says, RIGHT, I'LL GET CHANGED.
Lexi says, YAY!
Jojo says, YES!
Later, Gran Gran stands in the pool beside Reeni. Gran Gran wears a black and white bathing suit and a swim cap. Lexi and Jojo float, curving their pool noodles under their arms. Lexi and Jojo swim forward. Reeni follows Lexi, and Gran Gran follows Jojo.
[Upbeat music plays, splashing]
They swim to the end of the pool and grab the side. Reeni takes the pool noodles away and puts them on the deck. Gran Gran and Reeni back up as Jojo and Lexi do the breaststroke towards them.
Gran Gran says, WELL DONE, KEEP GOING!
Reeni says, EXCELLENT SWIMMING.
Water splashes on Panda, and Panda falls backwards on the lounge chair.
[Splashing, thumping]
[Whooshing, background shouting]
Jojo and Lexi smile and hold onto the edge of the pool.
Reeni says, WE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF TIME LEFT. WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN?
Lexi says, HM, COULD WE LEARN HOW TO SWIM UNDERWATER, REENI?
Reeni says, WELL, YOU'VE ALREADY STARTED TO LEARN HOW TO SWIM UNDERWATER.
Jojo asks, REALLY?
Reeni says, YOU BOTH KNOW HOW TO PUT YOUR FACES IN THE WATER.
Jojo and Lexi put their faces in the water and then resurface.
[Splashing, Jojo and Lexi giggling, bright music plays]
Reeni says, YOU CAN DO FRONT CRAWL LEGS.
Jojo and Lexi turn and hold the pool's edge. They both kick their legs.
[Splashing]
Jojo says, YES!
Lexi says, YEAH!
Reeni says, AND NOW YOU CAN DO BREASTSTROKE ARMS.
Jojo and Lexi let go of the pool's edge. They practice their arm movements for the breaststroke.
[Splashing, Jojo and Lexi giggling, bright music plays]
Reeni says, SO, TO SWIM UNDERWATER, WE USE FRONT CRAWL LEGS AND BREASTSTROKE ARMS. AND I'VE GOT SOME PIRATE TREASURE TO HELP.
Reeni gives Jojo and Lexi each a diving toy.
[Rustling]
Lexi and Jojo say, THANK YOU.
Reeni says, WATCH HOW I DO IT. I'LL THROW MY TREASURE INTO THE DEEP END.
Reeni throws her diving toy into the deep end. Jojo and Lexi put their faces in the water and watch Reeni swim down and retrieve the toy.
[Splashing, upbeat music plays]
They lift their faces out of the water.
Lexi says, WHOA.
Jojo exclaims, WOW!
Gran Gran says, THAT WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE, REENI.
Reeni asks, WHY DON'T YOU BOTH HAVE A GO?
Lexi says, OOH!
Jojo says, YES!
Lexi throws her diving toy into the pool's shallow end. She swims down and retrieves the toy.
[Upbeat music plays]
Gran Gran says, WELL DONE, LEXI!
Lexi says, I DID IT!
Jojo says, GREAT!
Jojo drops her diving toy into the shallow end. She swims most of the way down, then starts floating back towards the surface.
[Jojo panting, splashing]
Jojo says, I CAN'T DO IT.
Reeni says, THAT'S OKAY, WE CAN TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEK.
Jojo says, BUT NEXT WEEK IS AGES AWAY!
Gran Gran says, HM. I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A GRAN GRAN PLAN.
[Triumphant music plays]
Gran Gran says, WE CAN STAY IN THE POOL AND PRACTICE SWIMMING UNDERWATER A BIT LONGER.
Jojo and Lexi cheer, YAY!
Reeni says, I'LL LEAVE THE SINKERS, AND YOU CAN GIVE THEM BACK IN THE NEXT LESSON.
Lexi and Jojo say, THANK YOU, BYE!
Gran Gran says, BYE!
Jojo lets go of the side of the pool and practices swimming.
[Splashing]
Jojo says, BREASTSTROKE ARMS, FRONT CRAWL LEGS.
[Inhaling, upbeat music plays]
Jojo swims down and almost reaches the diving toy. She floats back up to the surface.
[Panting, background shouting, birds chirping]
Jojo says sadly, MAYBE I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SWIM UNDERWATER.
Lexi says, AW, TRY AGAIN, JOJO.
Lexi throws her diving toy into the shallow end.
[Splashing, upbeat music plays]
Jojo says, AH, GRAN GRAN, I THINK I HAVE AN IDEA.
[Whooshing]
Gran Gran and Lexi stay in the pool. Jojo stands on the edge in between them, holding Panda.
Jojo says, WATCH THIS, PANDA.
Jojo puts Panda down on the deck.
[Playful music plays]
Jojo jumps into the pool. The splashing water knocks Panda into the pool.
[Giggling, splashing]
Gran Gran and Lexi cheer, YAY!
[Upbeat music plays]
Jojo swims to the bottom of the shallow end and retrieves her diving toy.
Jojo cheers, YAY!
[Gran Gran and Lexi cheer]
Gran Gran says, YOU WENT UNDERWATER!
Gran Gran and Jojo hug.
[Water sloshing]
Jojo asks, DID YOU SEE ME JUMP, PANDA?
Lexi asks, WHERE IS PANDA?

[Gasping]
Jojo says sadly, OH.

The red-haired girl says, IT'S LIKE SCOOPING ICE CREAM, BUT YOU'RE SCOOPING WATER AND PULLING IT BACKWARDS SO YOU GO FORWARDS.
The girl with pigtails and the brown-haired boy imitate doing the front crawl.
The girl with pigtails says, THIS IS HOW YOU DO FRONT CRAWL.
In a white room, two children imitate the backstroke. A girl with pigtailed black hair wears a pink and white striped shirt. A blond-haired boy beside her wears a grey shirt with yellow sleeves.
The black-haired girl says, THIS IS BACKSTROKE.
The girl with pigtails imitates doing the front crawl.
The girl with pigtails says, BREAST STROKE YOU DO THIS.
The black-haired girl says, THIS IS A DOGGY PADDLE.

[Whooshing]
In Jojo's animated world, Jojo and Lexi hold the pool's edge.
[Water sloshing, background shouting]
Reeni says, IN TODAY'S SWIMMING LESSON, WE'RE GOING TO LEARN THE BREAST STROKE.
Jojo says, OOH!
[Jojo giggling]
Reeni takes two orange pool noodles off the deck and gives them to Jojo and Lexi.
Reeni says AND WE'LL USE THESE NOODLES TO HELP.
Jojo says, THANK YOU.
Lexi says, THANKS, REENI.
Jojo asks, CAN YOU COME IN, GRAN GRAN?
Lexi pleads, PLEASE?
Gran Gran says, OH.
[Reeni laughing]
Gran Gran says, OKAY.
Gran Gran stands up.
Gran Gran says, PANDA, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK AFTER MY BAG.
Gran Gran puts Panda on the lounge chair and puts sunglasses on Panda’s face.
[Thumping, water sloshing]
Gran Gran says, RIGHT, I'LL GET CHANGED.
Lexi says, YAY!
Jojo says, YES!
Later, Gran Gran stands in the pool beside Reeni. Gran Gran wears a black and white bathing suit and a swim cap. Lexi and Jojo float, curving their pool noodles under their arms. Lexi and Jojo swim forward. Reeni follows Lexi, and Gran Gran follows Jojo.
[Upbeat music plays, splashing]
They swim to the end of the pool and grab the side. Reeni takes the pool noodles away and puts them on the deck. Gran Gran and Reeni back up as Jojo and Lexi do the breaststroke towards them.
Gran Gran says, WELL DONE, KEEP GOING!
Reeni says, EXCELLENT SWIMMING.
Water splashes on Panda, and Panda falls backwards on the lounge chair.
[Splashing, thumping]
[Whooshing, background shouting]
Jojo and Lexi smile and hold onto the edge of the pool.
Reeni says, WE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF TIME LEFT. WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN?
Lexi says, HM, COULD WE LEARN HOW TO SWIM UNDERWATER, REENI?
Reeni says, WELL, YOU'VE ALREADY STARTED TO LEARN HOW TO SWIM UNDERWATER.
Jojo asks, REALLY?
Reeni says, YOU BOTH KNOW HOW TO PUT YOUR FACES IN THE WATER.
Jojo and Lexi put their faces in the water and then resurface.
[Splashing, Jojo and Lexi giggling, bright music plays]
Reeni says, YOU CAN DO FRONT CRAWL LEGS.
Jojo and Lexi turn and hold the pool's edge. They both kick their legs.
[Splashing]
Jojo says, YES!
Lexi says, YEAH!
Reeni says, AND NOW YOU CAN DO BREASTSTROKE ARMS.
Jojo and Lexi let go of the pool's edge. They practice their arm movements for the breaststroke.
[Splashing, Jojo and Lexi giggling, bright music plays]
Reeni says, SO, TO SWIM UNDERWATER, WE USE FRONT CRAWL LEGS AND BREASTSTROKE ARMS. AND I'VE GOT SOME PIRATE TREASURE TO HELP.
Reeni gives Jojo and Lexi each a diving toy.
[Rustling]
Lexi and Jojo say, THANK YOU.
Reeni says, WATCH HOW I DO IT. I'LL THROW MY TREASURE INTO THE DEEP END.
Reeni throws her diving toy into the deep end. Jojo and Lexi put their faces in the water and watch Reeni swim down and retrieve the toy.
[Splashing, upbeat music plays]
They lift their faces out of the water.
Lexi says, WHOA.
Jojo exclaims, WOW!
Gran Gran says, THAT WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE, REENI.
Reeni asks, WHY DON'T YOU BOTH HAVE A GO?
Lexi says, OOH!
Jojo says, YES!
Lexi throws her diving toy into the pool's shallow end. She swims down and retrieves the toy.
[Upbeat music plays]
Gran Gran says, WELL DONE, LEXI!
Lexi says, I DID IT!
Jojo says, GREAT!
Jojo drops her diving toy into the shallow end. She swims most of the way down, then starts floating back towards the surface.
[Jojo panting, splashing]
Jojo says, I CAN'T DO IT.
Reeni says, THAT'S OKAY, WE CAN TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEK.
Jojo says, BUT NEXT WEEK IS AGES AWAY!
Gran Gran says, HM. I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A GRAN GRAN PLAN.
[Triumphant music plays]
Gran Gran says, WE CAN STAY IN THE POOL AND PRACTICE SWIMMING UNDERWATER A BIT LONGER.
Jojo and Lexi cheer, YAY!
Reeni says, I'LL LEAVE THE SINKERS, AND YOU CAN GIVE THEM BACK IN THE NEXT LESSON.
Lexi and Jojo say, THANK YOU, BYE!
Gran Gran says, BYE!
Jojo lets go of the side of the pool and practices swimming.
[Splashing]
Jojo says, BREASTSTROKE ARMS, FRONT CRAWL LEGS.
[Inhaling, upbeat music plays]
Jojo swims down and almost reaches the diving toy. She floats back up to the surface.
[Panting, background shouting, birds chirping]
Jojo says sadly, MAYBE I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SWIM UNDERWATER.
Lexi says, AW, TRY AGAIN, JOJO.
Lexi throws her diving toy into the shallow end.
[Splashing, upbeat music plays]
Jojo says, AH, GRAN GRAN, I THINK I HAVE AN IDEA.
[Whooshing]
Gran Gran and Lexi stay in the pool. Jojo stands on the edge in between them, holding Panda.
Jojo says, WATCH THIS, PANDA.
Jojo puts Panda down on the deck.
[Playful music plays]
Jojo jumps into the pool. The splashing water knocks Panda into the pool.
[Giggling, splashing]
Gran Gran and Lexi cheer, YAY!
[Upbeat music plays]
Jojo swims to the bottom of the shallow end and retrieves her diving toy.
Jojo cheers, YAY!
[Gran Gran and Lexi cheer]
Gran Gran says, YOU WENT UNDERWATER!
Gran Gran and Jojo hug.
[Water sloshing]
Jojo asks, DID YOU SEE ME JUMP, PANDA?
Lexi asks, WHERE IS PANDA?
Gran Gran says, OH, NO!
[Gasping]
Jojo says sadly, OH.
[Gasping]
Jojo says, PANDA'S UNDERWATER!
[Gran Gran gasping]
Lexi says, I CAN GET PANDA FOR YOU.
Jojo says, I THINK I CAN DO IT.
Jojo puts her diving toy on the deck.
[Inhaling, upbeat music plays]
Jojo swims down and rescues Panda. She swims back up to the water's surface.
[Splashing]
Jojo holds up Panda and cheers, YAY!
Lexi cheers, YOU DID IT!
Gran Gran cheers, YAY!
[Jojo giggling]
Jojo hugs Panda.
Jojo says, I'VE GOT YOU, PANDA.

The girl wearing the silver swim cap swims underwater and waves. The brown-haired boy swims underwater.
The narrator says, HI, HARVEY.
The brown-haired boy, Harvey, waves with both hands. The girl wearing a silver swim cap, the narrator, gives two thumbs up.
The narrator says, THIS IS FUN!
[Splashing]
Mike cheers, WOO, WELL DONE.
The narrator says, MIKE IS THROWING LITTLE HOOPS INTO THE WATER FOR US TO COLLECT.
Hoops sink to the bottom of the shallow end.
Mike says, GO.
The narrator says, WE NEED TO SWIM UNDERWATER TO PICK THEM UP. GOT IT.
The children pick up the hoops and swim back to the surface.
[Splashing]
The narrator says, NOW, WE'RE GOING TO SWIM THROUGH THESE BIG HOOPS.
A full-sized red hula-hoop stands upright at the bottom of the pool.
The narrator says, I'M GOING FIRST.
The narrator swims through the hula-hoop.
The narrator says, NOW, IT'S ETHAN'S TURN.
Ethan swims through the hula-hoop and waves.
[Splashing]
The narrator says, YOU CAN DO IT, HARVEY.
Harvey swims through the hula-hoop.
The narrator says, WELL DONE, SAJANA.
Mike helps the black-haired girl, Sajana, swim through the hula-hoop. They high-five.
[Hands slapping]
The narrator says, NOW, IT'S TIME FOR OUR SWIMMING GAME.
The children sit on platforms in the water. The narrator faces Ethan, and Harvey and Sajana face each other.
The narrator says, WE HAVE TO SWIM TO EACH OTHER THROUGH A HOOP.
Mike says, GO!
The narrator and Harvey slide into the water and swim.
[Splashing]
The narrator says, HARVEY AND SAJANA ARE WORKING AS A TEAM, AND SO ARE ME AND ETHAN. HERE WE GO, THROUGH THE HOOPS.
The narrator swims to Ethan’s platform and splashes him.
[Splashing]
The narrator says, OFF YOU GO, ETHAN.
Harvey tags Sajana.
[Upbeat music continues]
The narrator says, YOUR TURN, SAJANA.
Ethan and Sajana swim through their hoops.
[Splashing]
The narrator says, YOU'VE MADE IT!
Ethan and Sajana swim to the empty platforms.
Mike cheers, YAY, WELL DONE!
The narrator says, I LOVE PLAYING THESE SWIMMING GAMES. TIME FOR ONE LAST SPLASH.
The narrator leads Ethan up a flight of stairs. At the top, a woman with long dark brown hair stands between two waterslides. The narrator and Ethan sit and slide down the waterslides.
The brown-haired woman says, READY, THREE, TWO, ONE, GO!
The narrator says, WOOHOO! HERE I GO! WOO! WOO! SPLASH!
The narrator high-fives Mike.
[Splashing, slapping]
The narrator says, HERE COMES ETHAN, SPLASH.
Ethan slides into the pool. He and Mike high-five.
[Splashing, slapping]
The narrator says, I LOVE SWIMMING UNDERWATER.
In Jojo's world, Gran Gran and Jojo wave to Lexi, and a man with a shaved head and black beard who carries a red duffel bag.
Lexi says, SEE YOU SOON, JOJO.
Jojo says, BYE, LEXI!
Gran Gran says, YOU DID VERY WELL TODAY, JOJO. YOU HAD A GREAT SWIMMING LESSON.
Jojo says, AND I RESCUED PANDA.
Gran Gran says, OH, I THINK PANDA MIGHT HAVE TO SPEND SOME TIME ON MY WASHING LINE WHEN WE GET HOME.
[Both laughing]
Jojo says, I LOVE YOU, GRAN GRAN.
Gran Gran picks up Jojo and hugs her.
[Gran Gran chuckling]
Gran Gran says, I LOVE YOU, TOO, JOJO.
