[Gentle music plays]
Gran Gran and Jojo look through Gran Gran’s front window at a robin on a bench.
[Bird chirping]
Gran Gran narrates, IT WAS A HOT SUMMER MORNING, THE SUN WAS SHINING, THE SUNFLOWERS WERE BURSTING WITH COLOUR, AND JOJO AND GRAN GRAN, THAT'S ME, WERE WATCHING A ROBIN OUT OF THE WINDOW.
[Robin chirping]
[Truck hissing]
Jojo says, OH, NO, THE ROBIN FLEW AWAY.
A green garbage truck, known as a bin lorry, stops in front of Gran Gran’s home.
Gran Gran says, I THINK THE BIN LORRY STARTLED IT.
Jojo asks, WHAT'S A BIN LORRY?
A sanitation worker wheels a bin to the truck. An attachment on the back of the truck picks up the bin and empties it into the back.
[Clattering, whirring]
Gran Gran explains, IT COMES EVERY WEEK AND EMPTIES MY RUBBISH BINS AND THEN IT GOES TO EVERY HOUSE ON THE STREET.
Jojo repeats, EVERY HOUSE? DOESN'T THAT TAKE A LONG TIME?
[Upbeat music plays]
Gran Gran says, THERE ARE LOTS OF BIN LORRIES DRIVING AROUND AT THIS TIME OF THE MORNING.
Jojo says, THAT'S WHY THE STREET IS SO TIDY.
Gran Gran agrees, YES.
[Truck hisses]
Jojo says, OFF TO THE NEXT STREET, BIN LORRY!
Gran Gran says, WE'RE ALSO GOING TO BE HELPING COLLECT RUBBISH AND LITTER TODAY, TOO.
Jojo asks, ARE WE GOING TO DRIVE A BIN LORRY?
[Gran Gran chuckling]
Gran Gran says, WE DON'T NEED TO DRIVE A BIN LORRY TO HELP COLLECT LITTER. WE'RE JOINING CYNTHIA IN THE PARK FOR A LITTER PICK.
Jojo says, OOH!
[Jojo squealing, giggling]
In live action, a girl with long black hair in pigtails wears a pink and white striped shirt. Behind her is a blue slide and a striped ball.
[Upbeat music plays]
The girl with pigtails says, IT'S NOT GOOD TO PUT RUBBISH ON THE GROUND, IT'S GOOD TO PUT RUBBISH IN THE BIN.
A girl sits outside by a brick wall. Her long brown hair is in a braid, and she wears a pink shirt with colourful rhinestones around the collar.
The girl with the braid says, IF WE DON'T PUT RUBBISH IN THE BIN, THEN WE'RE RUINING THE ENVIRONMENT, 'CAUSE IT WILL END UP IN THE SEA, AND ANIMALS WILL EAT IT.
The girl with pigtails says, A LITTER PICK IS YOU GO ON A WALK AND PICK UP RUBBISH WITH A LITTER PICKER.
Two boys sit by a light blue slide. One has short, dark brown hair and wears a grey T-shirt with whale and shark skeletons on the front. Beside him sits a boy with short, dark blond hair wearing a cream T-shirt.
The brown-haired boy says, A LITTER PICKER IS A METAL STICK WITH A CLAW AT THE END.
Two girls sit in a room with a navy blue wall. The first girl has tightly braided black hair and a dark blue shirt. The second girl wears her braids in two buns. She wears a pale pink shirt with a horse pattern.
The girl with tightly braided hair says, WHEN OUR BIN IS FULL, WE PUT IT OUTSIDE SO THE BIN PEOPLE CAN COLLECT IT.
The brown-haired boy says, WHEN THE BIN LORRY COMES, YOU PUT--THEY PUT IT ON THE GROUND NEAR THE LORRY, A CLAW PICKS IT UP—
The brown-haired boy says, PUTS IT IN THE LORRY.
The brown-haired boy continues, IT PUTS IT IN THE LORRY, THEN IT SQUEEZES IT AND TAKE IT TO A FACTORY.
The girl with the braid says, WHEN THE RECYCLING TRUCK GOES BACKWARDS IT MAKES A NOISE LIKE BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.
The blond-haired boy says, BEEP, BEEP.
[Imitating crunching]
In the park, Jojo and Gran Gran arrive by flowerbeds. Cynthia stands with Raya, Isaiah, and Alfie. On the ground are litter pickers and a pile of gloves.
[Birds chirping]
Jojo says, HI!
The other children say, HEY, JOJO! HIYA!
Cynthia says, IT'S GREAT TO SEE EVERYONE. WE'LL HAVE THIS LITTER PICK FINISHED IN NO TIME, BUT FIRST WE NEED TO GET READY.
[Upbeat music plays]
Cynthia says, NOW, WE NEED GLOVES TO KEEP OUR HANDS SAFE AND CLEAN.
The children put on the gloves.
The children say, OOH.
Cynthia says, AND THESE ARE YOUR LITTER PICKERS. THEY'LL HELP YOU PICK UP THE LITTER.
[Cynthia chuckling clicking]
Jojo pulls the top of her litter picker, and the claw at the bottom opens and closes.
Jojo observes IT'S LIKE A LONG ARM.
Gran Gran says, OH, IT IS, ISN'T IT?
[Children giggling]
Cynthia says, OKAY, LET'S GET STARTED. YOU CAN COLLECT LITTER FROM ANYWHERE IN THE PARK.
Cynthia holds up her litter picker and, like a puppet, pretends it is speaking.
Cynthia says, in a funny voice, AND REMEMBER TO USE ME TO COLLECT ALL THE LITTER!
[Children giggling]
Cynthia asks, YOU READY?
Everyone replies enthusiastically, READY!
Gran Gran crouches beside Jojo and Alfie at a flowerbed. Jojo struggles to pick up a can with her litter picker. Alfie uses his litter picker to pick up an empty plastic bottle.
[Upbeat music plays]
[Jojo grunting]
Jojo picks up the can with the litter picker.
She cheers, YAY!
[Jojo and Alfie giggling]
They drop their litter into a trash bag that Gran Gran holds open.
[Bag rustling]
Isaiah tries to pick up an apple core from the sidewalk. It bounces away from his litter picker.
Isaiah says, OH.
Isaiah picks up the apple with his litter picker.
Everyone picks up litter and puts it into trash bags. Jojo pulls a plastic bag off a fence. They work together and pick up litter on a grassy field. The bags fill with litter. When the field is litter-free, a grey squirrel runs across it.
[Rustling]
Cynthia, Isaiah, Raya, Alfie, Jojo, and Gran Gran gather in front of a park bench.
Raya asks, WHO DO YOU THINK PICKED THE MOST LITTER?
Alfie says, I THINK IT WAS ME AND JOJO.
Isaiah says, NO, ALFIE, IT WAS ME AND RAYA.
Gran Gran says, HM. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE ALL FILLED YOUR BAGS RIGHT TO THE TOP!
The children cheer, YAY! YES! YES!
Jojo says, IS THAT THE END, GRAN GRAN?
Gran Gran says, OH, WE'RE NOT FINISHED YET.
Cynthia picks up a full trash bag.
[Clattering]
Cynthia says, NO, NOW THAT WE'VE COLLECTED THE LITTER, WE HAVE TO SORT IT. WE NEED TO PUT EVERYTHING WE'VE COLLECTED INTO SEPARATE BINS.
Cynthia leads the others to three recycling bins. One has a red top, the next has a green top, and the last has a blue top.
[Birds chirping, rustling]
Alfie says, JUST LIKE WE DO AT HOME.
Cynthia says, MM-HM. IN THIS PARK, PAPER, METAL, AND HARD PLASTIC GO IN THIS BIN.
Cynthia uses her litter picker to drop a plastic bottle into the bin with the red top. The others pick litter from the bags and drop them in the red-topped bin.
[Clunking, children giggling]
Cynthia stands behind the bin with the green top.
She says, AND THIS BIN IS FOR OLD BITS OF FOOD.
She drops a banana peel into the green bin.
[Chuckling]
The children take food scraps from the bag and drop them in the green bin.
Jojo says, EW!
[Children groaning]
Cynthia says, AND WHATEVER RUBBISH YOU HAVE LEFT GOES INTO--
The children point to the blue bin and say, THIS BIN.
The children drop food wrappers, a plastic fork, a plastic bag, and a juice box into the blue bin.
[Rustling, birds chirping, upbeat music plays]
[Cynthia and children cheering]
Cynthia says, WE'VE ALL DONE AN AMAZING JOB! I CAN'T SEE ANY RUBBISH OR LITTER ANYWHERE IN THE PARK.

Jared says, HEY, JOJO! GRAN GRAN.
Jared says, OH, THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEED.

Jared drops his apple core into the green bin.
[Rustling]
Gran Gran says, MM, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A GRAN GRAN PLAN.
[Triumphant music plays]
Gran Gran says, WE CAN MAKE PICTURES SO THAT EVERYONE WHO USES THE PARK WILL KNOW WHICH BIN TO USE.
Cynthia says, OH, THAT'S A BRILLIANT IDEA. LET'S CLEAN SOME OF THE RUBBISH WE FOUND AND GET STARTED.
They glue cans, plastic bottles, plastic bottle lids, a can tab, yogurt containers, and paper to a piece of wood. Alfie and Jojo proudly hold the sign between them. Gran Gran dabs a paintbrush into the paint. She paints a sandwich crust, an apple core, and a banana peel onto wood. Gran Gran and Cynthia lift the sign and smile.
Raya and Isaiah sit on the grass and paint pictures of candy wrappers. They attach pictures of candy wrappers, plastic cutlery, a coffee cup and a sandwich holder, a fast food wrapper, empty candy wrappers, a coffee cup lid, and a plastic knife to a piece of wood. Raya and Isaiah smile and pick up the sign.
Jojo hangs the sign for metal, plastic, and paper on the red bin. Gran Gran hangs the food scrap sign on the green bin, and Isaiah puts the trash sign on the blue bin. They stand by a gazebo and watch people drop litter into the correct bins. Ned waves to them.
[Upbeat music plays]
Jojo says, NOW, EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE THE LITTER GOES.
[Everyone cheering]
