DESCRIPTION: In an animated world, Gran Gran knocks on her granddaughter, JoJo’s, door. JoJo lives in a brick house in a London neighbourhood. JoJo’s Mum and Dad open the door and smile at Gran Gran, who has gray hair tied in a bun and wears a yellow sweater and a blue necklace. JoJo’s Mum has brown braids tied back in a bun and wears a white shirt, gray pants, and gold earrings. JoJo’s Dad has brown hair and wears glasses, a pink shirt, and jeans. JoJo runs out the door and takes Gran Gran's hand. JoJo is five years old and has brown hair that she wears in two buns. JoJo wears a green sweater and blue pants, holding Panda, her stuffed animal companion, in her arms. JoJo and Gran Gran walk down the street together.
SINGERS: Take my hand and come with me on a journey through our streets. We'll say hello to everybody that we meet.
DESCRIPTION: As Gran Gran and JoJo walk down the street, the weather changes from sunny and warm to rainy and cold. Gran Gran and JoJo now wear rain jackets and hold umbrellas. Together, they jump through puddles.
SINGERS: Through the year, as seasons change, exploring every day. Take our time to stop and play.
DESCRIPTION: The season changes, and the sun is shining. JoJo wears an orange tank top and blue shorts. In a park, JoJo cartwheels and rolls down a grassy hill with Gran Gran.
SINGERS: And when the springtime blossom turn to summer sun, JoJo likes to get outside Gran Gran always makes it fun.
DESCRIPTION: In the autumn, JoJo wears a yellow coat and red boots. She picks up a pile of orange and red leaves and throws them into the sky. Then, Gran Gran and JoJo walk down a snow-covered London street, as a neighbour builds a snowman.
SINGERS: When the autumn rainfall turns to winter snow, I know a special place, a place where we can go.

GRAN GRAN [narrating]: It was a winter's day. The trees were bare, the air was frosty, and JoJo and Gran Gran, that's me, were roller-skating in the garden.
GRAN GRAN: Whoa.
JOJO: Oh! Oh!
GRAN GRAN: Ooh, ooh.
[JoJo giggling]
JOJO: I'm roller-skating!
GRAN GRAN: That's it, JoJo.
[Gran Gran giggling]
GRAN GRAN: Shall I let go? Only if you're ready.
JOJO: Um, not yet.
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran continues walking backward and bumps into her fence.
GRAN GRAN: Ooh!
JOJO: Oh!

JOJO: We're running out of space.
GRAN GRAN: Ooh, shall we go to the park? Well, there's lots of space there.
JOJO: But there's no music. And we like music. Don't we, Panda?
DESCRIPTION: Panda slumps next to the radio.

GRAN GRAN: Hm. I think it's time for a Gran Gran plan. We can go somewhere with lots of space and music.
JOJO: Where's that, Gran Gran?
GRAN GRAN: The roller disco!
DESCRIPTION: JoJo smiles brightly.
JOJO: Ooh!
DESCRIPTION: In a series of live-action interviews, children sit and chat. The children hold up blue roller skates.
CHILD ONE: These are roller-skating boots. You can use them at the park or you can use them at a roller-skating disco.
CHILD TWO: Roller-skates have four wheels.
CHILD THREE: At a roller disco you have to dance with roller-skates on like these.
CHILD FOUR: When I go roller-skating I wear protective gear on my knees, my elbows, and on my head.
CHILD FIVE: A roller disco is where people skate 'round and 'round with music, and a disco ball, and people can watch them skate.
CHILD SIX: Some people like dancing while they're roller-skating and they do something like this.

GRAN GRAN: Well, I know a really good way to stop. We can use the plough stop.

GRAN GRAN: Look. Start with your feet out wide and straight, bend your knees, and make a rainbow with your toes as your heels go out. And stop.

GRANT: Absolutely no worries, I'll grab you some skates. There's your size 8, there's your size 2.

CHILD [narration]: First, we're putting on pads and a helmet to help keep us safe if we fall over. Now my helmet. Grant is checking if everything is on properly.

GRANT: Just going to check your protective gear now. Got your knee pads on, your wrist guards, your elbows. Give your head a little wobble. Perfect.
CHILD [narration]: Now we have to put on our roller-skates! It's important that our roller-skates fit our feet.

DESCRIPTION: On the rink, Dolores and the child roller skate together. They wobble a little, but smile brightly. A roller disco crew member, Shea, roller-skates quickly and dances on the rink.
CHILD [narration]: It's a little tricky to keep your balance when you first start skating.
DOLORES: Don't fall.
CHILD [narration]: I'm holding on to Dolores' hand to help me keep my balance.
BROTHER: You're doing great!
CHILD: Don't you love roller-skating?
DOLORES: Yeah.
CHILD [narration]: Shea is making sure I stay safe. Shea is showing us how to stop safely.

CHILD [narration]: Whoops, it's a good thing I'm wearing pads and a helmet. They really help to keep me safe if I fall over. Shea is showing me how to get back up. We're so much better at skating than when we started. Every time we go roller-skating we'll get even better. We love roller-skating.
