GRAN GRAN NARRATING: It was a winter afternoon. The trees were bare, and the air was frosty. And JoJo and Gran Gran, that's me, were painting in the kitchen with Great Gran Gran!
DESCRIPTION: At Gran Gran’s kitchen table, Jojo paints. Gran Gran holds a tablet with Great Gran Gran on a video call.
JOJO: I'm painting Saint Lucia, Great Gran Gran!
GREAT GRAN GRAN: I can't wait to see your finished picture.

GREAT GRAN GRAN: Don't forget the Piton Mountains, JoJo! I love how tall and green they are.

JOJO: Wow! Orange!
DESCRIPTION: Jojo adds an orange sky to her painting. She holds up red and white paint. Gran Gran nods, and Jojo mixes lines of red and white paint.
JOJO: It's pink!
DESCRIPTION: Jojo paints pink clothes onto three of the people on the beach. Jojo and Gran Gran hold up black and white paint. Jojo makes Panda nod, then mixes lines of black and white paint.
JOJO: And grey!
DESCRIPTION: Jojo paints grey clothes onto the last two people of her painting. She adds grey hair to one of the two. With the black paint, faces and hair appear on panda and the people in the painting, Jojo’s family, including herself, her mummy, her daddy, Gran Gran, and Great Gran Gran.
JOJO: All we need now is the sky, Panda.
DESCRIPTION: Jojo reaches for her cup of blue paint and finds it empty.
JOJO: Oh! Can we mix some more blue, Gran Gran?
GRAN GRAN: Ah, blue is one of the colours you can't mix. But you could paint it a different colour.
[Jojo laughing]
JOJO: The sky is always blue, Gran Gran!
GRAN GRAN: Oh, is it? Well, let's have a look out of the window.
DESCRIPTION: Jojo grabs Panda and follows Gran Gran to the window. They gaze outside as the sun begins to set, casting a pink glow across the sky.
JOJO: Look, Panda! The sky is pink!
GRAN GRAN: And if you look closely, you can see lots more colours, too.
JOJO: Wow! The sky is mixing colours, too! I know how I can finish my painting.
DESCRIPTION: Jojo returns to the table. Gran Gran smiles.
[Jojo humming]
DESCRIPTION: Jojo paints the sky in her painting pink.
GRAN GRAN: Saint Lucia at sunset.
[Gran Gran gasping]
GRAN GRAN: Oh, I love it.
JOJO: Can we call Great Gran Gran and show her?
GRAN GRAN: Oh, of course!
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran picks up her tablet and makes a call. She turns the tablet toward Jojo.
[Tablet ringing]
DESCRIPTION: Great Gran Gran appears on a video call.
JOJO: Hello, Great Gran Gran!
GRAN GRAN: Hello, Mama!
GREAT GRAN GRAN: JoJo! My little sunshine. Are you finished painting now?
JOJO: Yes! This is a painting of a Saint Lucian beach.
DESCRIPTION: Jojo holds up her finished painting.
GREAT GRAN GRAN: Ooh! This is wonderful, JoJo! I love the green Piton Mountains!
JOJO: I had to mix yellow paint and blue paint to make them green.
GREAT GRAN GRAN: Our family looks so colourful, JoJo. Did you mix anymore colours?
JOJO: Yes! We mixed red and blue to make Panda!
DESCRIPTION: On the table, Panda tips forward.
GRAN GRAN: And we mixed red and yellow...
JOJO: To make the orange for the sun.
GRAN GRAN: And what did we mix for the sky?
JOJO: Red and white to make it pink! Our sky is pink, too. Let me show you!
DESCRIPTION: Jojo and Gran Gran walk over to the window and look out at the now dark sky. Jojo holds the tablet up to the window. Above houses in the distance, the setting sun casts a mix of colours between the chimneys.
JOJO: Oh, no! The sky has changed colours again.
GREAT GRAN GRAN: Ah, the sky is always full of surprises.
GRAN GRAN: Let's see what colours we can spot. Oh, I can see purple! And there's blue. I hope we see a pink star.
[Jojo and Gran Gran giggling]
[Whooshing]
[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

ONE CHILD NARRATING: We're looking at colours together.
ANOTHER CHILD NARRATING: We're starting with red.

BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: I feel like we're mixing tomato sauce.
DESCRIPTION: The children squeeze blue paint into a plastic tray.
CHILD NARRATOR: Next is blue.
DESCRIPTION: The children drag paintbrushes through the blue paint.
BROWN-HAIRED BOY: I'm doing some swirls.
BOTH CHILDREN: Swirl, swirl, swirl!
DESCRIPTION: The children squeeze yellow paint into a tray.
CHILD NARRATOR: And now, yellow!
DESCRIPTION: The children drag paintbrushes through the yellow paint.
BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: Yellow is like the sun and bananas.
[Brown-haired boy giggling]
CHILD NARRATOR: What happens when we mix blue and red?
DESCRIPTION: The brown-haired girl squeezes blue paint into a tray. The brown-haired boy adds red paint. The children mix the colours.
BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: It's turning purple! It's turning purple!
CHILD NARRATOR: Red and blue makes purple. What colour does yellow and red make?
DESCRIPTION: The brown-haired girl squeezes red paint onto yellow paint. The children mix the colours.
CHILD NARRATING: It makes orange!
BROWN-HAIRED GIRL: Orange reminds me of carrots.
BROWN-HAIRED BOY: Orange is the same colour as pumpkins.
CHILD NARRATOR: Let's make another colour.
BROWN-HAIRED BOY: First, we need a little bit of blue.
DESCRIPTION: The brown-haired boy squeezes blue paint into a tray.
BROWN-HAIRED BOY: Now for a little bit of yellow.

JOJO: Tomorrow I'm going to paint the nighttime sky with purple and blue.
GRAN GRAN: And you can use pink for the stars.
[Jojo giggling]
JOJO: Yes! I love you, Gran Gran!
GRAN GRAN: Oh, I love you too, JoJo.
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran picks up Jojo, and they share a hug.
