ISAIAH: So the birds knew how to build nests.

[Jojo imitating a bird tweeting]
[Jojo giggling]

ALFIE: So the tall trees knew how to make leaves!

DESCRIPTION: Wendy ties a piece of orange cloth around her waist and passes the end to the children wearing hippo ears.

[Children applauding]

WENDY: He was being pulled from the middle!
DESCRIPTION: The children wearing elephant ears gently pull Wendy toward them from the middle.
WENDY: He was being pulled so much that eventually, he just... ugh. Slumped down. And his waist became pulled tight, so thin. He was so sorry that he had been so greedy, trying to go to all of those lunches. And from that day on, spiders' waists have always been teeny-tiny small.
[Children applauding]
CHILD NARRATOR: We love listening to the folk tale!
[Whooshing]
DESCRIPTION: At Gran Gran’s house, Jojo sits on the living room couch with Gran Gran. Gran Gran holds her tablet with Great Gran Gran on a video call.
JOJO: So, Anansi shared the pots of knowledge. The end.
GREAT GRAN GRAN: How wonderful, JoJo! You are an excellent storyteller.
JOJO: You and Gran Gran were great, too.
[Great Gran Gran chuckling]
GREAT GRAN GRAN: I have to go. Have fun telling more stories! Bye-bye, you two!
GRAN GRAN: Bye, Mama!
JOJO: Bye, Great Gran Gran!
DESCRIPTION: Jojo and Gran Gran wave to Great Gran Gran. The video call ends, and Gran Gran sets her tablet aside.
JOJO: I liked hearing the folk tale about Anansi and his pot of knowledge.
GRAN GRAN: And I liked sharing it with you.
JOJO: I love you, Gran Gran!
[Gran Gran chuckling]
GRAN GRAN: I love you too, JoJo!
DESCRIPTION: Gran Gran puts her arms around Jojo, and they share a hug.
