Title: “Run the Marbles.”
Children shout, LET'S RUN THE MARBLES!
[Xylophone music plays]
In a studio, Koralee and a girl with tightly braided dark brown hair sit on the floor playing colourful metallophones. The girl wears a yellow T-shirt and blue pants. Koralee, an adult with tightly braided dark brown hair, wears a green T-shirt and blue jeans.
A narrator says, HI, EBUN! HI, KORALEE!
Koralee and the brown-haired girl, Ebun, say, HI.
The narrator says, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
Koralee holds a marble.
Koralee says, CHECK THIS OUT. WE CAN USE THIS MARBLE TO PLAY MUSIC.
Ebun says, A MARBLE? COOL IDEA!
The narrator says, WOW. WHAT WOULD A MUSICAL MARBLE RUN SOUND LIKE?
Ebun asks, LIKE THIS?
[Metallophone music plays]
Ebun taps the marble on random metallophone bars.
Koralee says, OR, LIKE THIS?
[Ascending notes play]
Koralee rolls the marble across the metallophone bars.
Koralee says, IF WE PLAY THE NOTES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, IT CAN SOUND LIKE THIS.
[Descending notes play, metallophone music plays]
She rolls the marble from the smallest bar to the widest bar. She tilts the metallophone, and the marble rolls back and forth.
The narrator says, THAT SOUNDS MUSICALLY MAGNIFICENT. BACK AND FORTH, UP AND DOWN.
Ebun gives two thumbs up.
Ebun says, LET'S START BUILDING!
[Clattering]
Marbles fall in a pile and cover the screen.
[Upbeat music plays, thunking, slide whistles]
Koralee puts a metallophone near the edge of a table, and Ebun puts a second one on a blue block on a lower table. Koralee props up the side with the widest bars on the first metallophone, while Ebun puts a track at the end with the smallest bar. Ebun spins, then moves the second metallophone on two yellow blocks. Koralee picks up a sloped wooden track.
Koralee says, LET'S USE THIS WOODEN TRACK.
[Rumbling]
Koralee rolls a marble down the track.
The narrator says, SOUNDS GOOD.
[Upbeat music continues, snipping]
Ebun puts blocks on the blue block, and Koralee places the wooden track between the two metallophones. She cuts a piece of tape and affixes a small blue track between the sloped wooden track's end and the top of the second metallophone.
The narrator says, TIME TO ADD MUSIC?
[Hands slapping]
Ebun and Koralee high-five.
Both say, LET'S RUN THE MARBLES!
[Ascending notes play, rattling, sad music notes play]
Ebun releases a marble. It rolls to the bottom of the first metallophone and stops by a pin.
Ebun says, AW, IT'S STUCK.
The narrator says, MAYBE YOU COULD REMOVE THE PIN ON THE END. THE LAST KEY WILL BE ON AN ANGLE, SO THE MARBLE WILL ROLL OFF.
[Clinking, rumbling, plinking, upbeat music continues]
Koralee removes the pin with pliers, and the marble rolls down the wooden track, across the blue track, and off the first bar of the second metallophone.
Ebun cheers, HOORAY!
Koralee asks, CAN WE MAKE IT BIGGER?
Ebun replies, YES, WE CAN.
[Clattering]
Marbles roll across the screen.
[Creaking, thumping]
In the studio, Koralee and Ebun open a toy chest and take out blocks and a tambourine.
The narrator asks, HOW ABOUT ADDING ANOTHER METAL RAMP?
[Clinking, rattling, metallophone notes plinking, marble rumbling, tambourine cymbals tinging]
Ebun puts a small ramp between two metallophones. Ebun and Koralee build a marble run with two metallophones connected on the first table, the sloped wooden track leading to the metallophone on the lower table, and tracks leading to two more metallophones on large blocks. A track from the last metallophone leads to the upside-down tambourine. Ebun releases a marble at the top of the marble run, rolling across the tracks and metallophones to the tambourine.
The narrator says, LOOKS GOOD. SOUNDS AMAZING.
Ebun cheers, HOORAY!
[Energetic music plays, metallophone notes plinking, marble rumbling]
They release another marble on the marble run.
The narrator says, MUSICAL MARBLE RUNS! MARBLES PLAY MUSIC AS THEY ROLL OVER THE KEYS.
[Tambourine cymbals tinging]
The marble lands on the tambourine. Ebun dances beside the marble run.
[Clattering]
Marbles fall in a pile and cover the screen.
[Metallophone notes plinking, marble rumbling, tambourine cymbals tinging]
In the studio, Ebun and Koralee drop many marbles on the marble run.
Ebun sings, A MUSICAL MARBLE RUN.
Koralee asks, WHAT ABOUT LOTS OF MARBLES AT THE SAME TIME?
[Marbles rattling, metallophone notes plinking, marble rumbling, tambourine cymbals tinging, energetic music continues]
Someone grabs two handfuls of marbles and puts them on the marble run. The marbles roll down the marble run and fill the tambourine.
The narrator says, WOW! LOOK AT THEM GO!
[Children cheering]
