Descriptive Transcript

[Gentle music plays, Ladybird and Bee giggle, birds chirp]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird, a red and black ladybug, and Bee, a yellow and black bee, rest on a branch. The title, on a falling green leaf, reads, “Ladybird and Bee.”

NARRATOR: It's Ladybird and Bee.

[Upbeat music plays, rain patters]

DESCRIPTION: On a dark day, rain falls from dark clouds blowing past the sun. On the ground, Bee and Ladybird shelter in an opening at the base of a tree.

NARRATOR: Hello, Ladybird and Bee.

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

NARRATOR: It's stormy today.

[Rain patters]

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird nods.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

[Creak, oud crash, gasps, exciting music plays]

DESCRIPTION: A branch breaks and falls near Bee and Ladybird, and they both startle.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

[Gentle music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The rain stops, and the sky clears. Wispy white clouds drift past the sun in the blue sky.

NARRATOR: Don't worry, the storm is ending now.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

BEE: Buzz? Buzz, buzz?

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

[Wings flutter, cheerful music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee fly to the hollow tree branch.

NARRATOR: That's new.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

[Insects chitter]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee move to the side as a large beetle, a black woodlouse and three baby woodlice enter the hollow branch.

NARRATOR: You have some new neighbours, Ladybird.

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird smiles.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Insects chatter]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee fly into the hollow log.

BEE: Buzz, buzz?

LADYBIRD: Loo, loo?

[Both exclaim, water splashes, insects chatter]

DESCRIPTION: Inside the branch, the black woodlouse splashes water on the three baby woodlice as the beetle dances.

NARRATOR: It's cozy under here, Ladybird and Bee.

[Beetle chuckles]

NARRATOR: Beetle seems to like it.

DESCRIPTION: The large beetle rolls towards the woodlice, and Ladybird waves.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

[Water splashes, Ladybird gasps, giggles, gentle music notes play]

DESCRIPTION: A waterdrop falls on Ladybird’s head.

NARRATOR: It's damp too.

[Insects chitter, water splashes]

DESCRIPTION: The black woodlouse splashes water on the three baby woodlice.

NARRATOR: But the baby woodlice like it.

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee nod.

BEE: Buzz.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Water splashes, tense music plays]

DESCRIPTION: A baby woodlouse jumps off the black woodlouse, splashing Ladybird and Bee.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

[Bee giggles, both giggle, rustle, water splashes, wings flutter, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee watch the woodlice relax in the puddle. Ladybird and Bee shake off the water and fly out of the branch, into a sunbeam.

NARRATOR: Damp and dark is nice for Beetle and woodlice, but Ladybird and Bee like dry and sunshiny.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

[Ladybird and Bee giggle, birds chirp, gentle music plays]
