Descriptive Transcript

[Gentle music plays, Ladybird and Bee giggle, Bee buzzes, birds chirp, wings flap]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird, a red and black ladybug, and Bee, a yellow and black bee, rest on a branch. The title, on a falling green leaf, reads, “Ladybird and Bee.”

NARRATOR: It's Ladybird and Bee.

[Cheerful music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Bees wearing satchels fly out of a beehive. Bee follows them, then hovers in the entrance.

NARRATOR: Hello, Bee!

[Leaves rustle]

DESCRIPTION: Bee waves and flies away from the hive. Red and orange leaves fall off a nearby tree branch.

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird arrives.

NARRATOR: Here comes Ladybird.

DESCRIPTION: Bee waves to Ladybird, and they both land on a branch.

BEE: Buzz.

NARRATOR: Hello, Ladybird.

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird waves.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

[Ladybird and Bee gasp, leaf rustles, Ladybird and Bee wince]

DESCRIPTION: A yellow leaf falls past Bee and Ladybird, and they watch it. They peer over the edge of the branch and watch leaves fall.

NARRATOR: Ladybird and Bee, the leaves are falling to the ground!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz.

[Ladybird laughs, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird twirls.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

NARRATOR: You're twirling like the leaves, Ladybird.

[Ladybird and Bee giggle, exclaim]

DESCRIPTION: Bee twirls behind Ladybird.

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Ladybird gasps]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird stops near the tree trunk and looks at the orange sap. Bee twirls towards her.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

[Bee gasps]

DESCRIPTION: Bee stops twirling and looks at the sap.

BEE: Buzz?

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

[Sap squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird pokes the sap, and it sticks to her front leg.

NARRATOR: Hmm, sticky.

[Light music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird nods.

NARRATOR: The tree is leaking sticky sap.

[Sap squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird shakes her leg, and the sap sticks to it. She grabs the sap, and both of her front legs stick. She turns, and her three right legs stick to the sap, along with her front left leg.

LADYBIRD: Loo? Lilliloo!

[Bee gasps]

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

DESCRIPTION: Bee flies above Ladybird and pulls her.

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

[Both grunt]

BEE AND LADYBIRD: Oof!

DESCRIPTION: Bee lets go of Ladybird and lands on the branch.

NARRATOR: We're gonna need some help, Ladybird and Bee.

[Bee gasps]

DESCRIPTION: Bee smiles and nods.

BEE: Buzz.

[Rustle, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: Bee dances, making small vibrations on the branch.

NARRATOR: The ant dance. The ants are strong, and they will come when they hear the dance. Look!

[Ants hum]

DESCRIPTION: Four ants walk up the tree trunk.

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

DESCRIPTION: The ants arrive on the branch, and Bee flies to Ladybug, grabbing her left legs.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

DESCRIPTION: The ants line up behind Bee, each grabbing the one in front of them. The first ant in the line holds onto Bee.

NARRATOR: Pull, everybody, pull!

[Everyone grunts, sap creaks]

DESCRIPTION: Bee and the ants pull Ladybird out of the sap, and the ants fall in a pile.

ALL: Oof!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Ladybird laughs, everyone laughs, ants hum, upbeat music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The ants stand and wave as they walk away. Ladybird and Bee wave back.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

[Ladybird whews]

DESCRIPTION: The ants walk down the tree trunk. On the branch, Ladybird wipes her brow. Bee nods.

NARRATOR: That was a sticky moment, Ladybird and Bee.

[Ladybird and Bee laugh, the music stops, birds chirp, buzzing, wings flap]
