Descriptive Transcript

[Gentle music plays, Ladybird and Bee giggle, Bee buzzes, birds chirp]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird, a red and black ladybug, and Bee, a yellow and black bee, rest on a branch. The title, on a falling green leaf, reads, “Ladybird and Bee.”

NARRATOR: It's Ladybird and Bee.

[Upbeat music plays, wings flap rapidly]

DESCRIPTION: Bees leave a beehive as Ladybird arrives. He flies to the entrance just as another bee leaves, carrying a satchel.

NARRATOR: Hello, Ladybird.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

NARRATOR: Where is Bee?

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird points into the hive.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo, lilliloo.

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird enters the hive and finds Bee on the floor, looking at a hunk of honey.

BEE: Buzz?

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

[Narrator giggles, upbeat music continues]

NARRATOR: Hello, Bee. What are you playing with?

[Honey squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Bee pokes the honey and then points to a hexagon-shaped hole between honeycombs.

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

NARRATOR: Does it need to go in there?

DESCRIPTION: Bee nods.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

NARRATOR: Let's do it together!

DESCRIPTION: Bee smiles, flies up, then lands.

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Both giggle, honey squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee shape the honey into a square and hold it up by the opening.

NARRATOR: It's a square!

BEE: Buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

[Both gasp]

DESCRIPTION: The square does not fit, and they drop it on the floor between them.

BEE: Buzz, buzz.

NARRATOR: Maybe a different shape will work? Hmm.

LADYBIRD: Loo.

[Honey squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee mould the honey into a triangle.

BEE: Buzz, buzz, buzz.

NARRATOR: It's a triangle! Let's try it.

[Ladybird and Bee gasp]

DESCRIPTION: Ladybird and Bee hold the shape up by the hole, and it will not fit.

BEE: Buzz? Buzz?

[Bee gasps, honey squelches]

DESCRIPTION: Bee shapes the honey.

BEE: Buzz.

LADYBIRD: Loo?

[Whoosh]

DESCRIPTION: Bee picks up the circle of honey.

NARRATOR: It's a circle!

BEE: Buzz, buzz, buzz!

DESCRIPTION: Bee pushes the circle into the hexagon-shaped hole.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo?

[Wings flap, Ladybird gasps, light music plays, wind gusts]

DESCRIPTION: Bee turns her back to the honey and flaps her wings. The wind pushes against the circle, and it fills the hole.

[Upbeat music plays]

NARRATOR: It's working, Bee! You did it, Bee! It's a hexagon!

BEE: Buzz, buzz!

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo!

NARRATOR: All the pieces are the same shape now.

LADYBIRD: Lilliloo.

BEE: Buzz.

[Both exclaim]

NARRATOR: And all the shapes fit together perfectly.

[Ladybird and Bee giggle, the music stops, birds chirp, wings flap]
