BUD: Get away!
LOUIE: Shoo!
[Toucans exclaim]
ODO: It's not their fault their home got smooshed.
DOODLE: And now they have no place left to live.
ODO: Maybe we can build them a new place to live. A hotel! A bug hotel!
DOODLE: Ah! Do you think we can, Odo?
[Bee buzzes]
ODO: I know we can!
CAMP LEADER: What a marvelous idea! And perhaps John John can help build it.
[Bird chirps, toolbox thuds, measuring tape rattles]
DESCRIPTION: John John arrives and puts his toolbox on the grass. He picks up measuring tape.
JOHN JOHN: Hey-hey, one bug hotel coming up. Squawk!

JOHN JOHN: Check it out. Some bugs are checking in.
[Bugs chitter]
JOHN JOHN: Ha-ha, checking in!
[Doodle, Odo, and John John laugh]
DESCRIPTION: John John picks up his toolbox and walks away. Odo jumps on a stump and peers at a table inside the hotel. Postage stamps decorate the walls like posters, and a pencil leans against a wall.
ODO: Welcome! Very cozy. Snug as a bug.
[Odo and Doodle laugh, bugs chitter]
DOODLE: More guests, gosh! Hello. Welcome to the bug hotel.
[Buzzing]
ODO: We hope your stay is relaxing. And don't forget, breakfast is served from 8 till 10.
DOODLE: Wait, Odo, that's now! It's breakfast time.
DESCRIPTION: Doodle waves a twig with a leaf on a branch.
ODO: Here you go, bugs.
[Bugs whimper, tense music plays, pencil and cup thump]
DESCRIPTION: Doodle and Odo poke twigs into the hotel, and bugs skitter away. A red and purple beetle hides under the table.
DOODLE: Whoops, sorry.
[Beetles chitter]
DOODLE: I think we've served the wrong leaves.
DESCRIPTION: Doodle and Odo put their twigs in the empty bug house.
ODO: Sorry, beetles. My mom always says breakfast is the wildest time of the day.
[Beetles chitter]
DESCRIPTION: The beetles return and climb onto the leaves.
DOODLE: Enjoy your stay.
[Munching, whoosh, soft thuds]

LOUIE: They shouldn't be here at all!
BUD: Something needs to do something, Louie! Or maybe some toucans need to do something.
[Buzzing, feathers whoosh, bird chirps]
DESCRIPTION: The bee flies into the bug hotel. Feathers wave. The next morning, Joe stands beneath the blue sky.
[Joe cock-a-doodle-doos, upbeat music plays]
JOE: Good morning, Forest Camp!
DESCRIPTION: Odo and Doodle enter the camp, walking past Joe, Flo, and Shirley.
ODO: Yoo-hoo, bugs, up you get! Rise and shine!
[Doodle gasps, feet skid]
DESCRIPTION: Doodle points at the broken table with a hole on the top.
DOODLE: Oh, no! Look!
[Odo gasps, tense music plays]
ODO: The bug hotel! It's gone!
DOODLE: Oh!
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie walk past Odo and Doodle. The toucans have narrowed eyes and slight smiles.
ODO: Um, Bud, Louie, the bugs are all gone.
BUD: Well, maybe they'll be happier somewhere else.
ODO: But why would the bugs want to leave?
[Odo grunts, whoosh, Doodle grunts, birds sing, mellow music plays]
DESCRIPTION: Odo and Doodle jump onto the tree stumps and look into the hole in the table. Bud and Louie discover the flowers drooping in their vase.
LOUIE: All our flowers look sad.
BUD: Never mind. We'll collect happy ones. Now that camp is bug-free, we can get it looking lovely again.
[Toucans grunt, leaves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie jump into the bushes and look at the drooping flowers.
LOUIE: Hmm. No happy flowers growing here. That's odd. Let's look somewhere else.
[Toucans grunting, leaves rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie search the forest.
LOUIE: Found any happy flowers yet, Bud?
BUD: Not a sausage, Louie!
[Bud and Louie groan]
DESCRIPTION: The toucans return to their flowers in the vase.
LOUIE: Found, I feel pretty sad.
[Louie gasps]
LOUIE: Maybe that's how Odo feels now the bugs have gone!
[Bus and Louie whimper, feathers whoosh, bird sings, upbeat music plays]

CAMP LEADER: Goodness! And you say all the bugs have vanished, Odo? Oh, my!
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie peek around the edge of the hut.
ODO: Maybe the bugs didn't feel welcome, Camp Leader.
CAMP LEADER: How sad. Bugs belong here just as much as all of us. Everyone living together is what makes this camp such a wonderful place to be.
[Toucans whimper]
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie walk to Odo, Doodle, and Camp Leader.
BUD: Oh, it was us! We did it.
LOUIE: We moved the bug hotel to the other side of the forest.
DOODLE AND ODO: Huh?!
BUD: We just thought bugs were horrible and creepy. But Camp Leader's right. Bugs deserve to be here just as much as we do.
ODO: You moved the bug hotel?
BUD: Yes! We're sorry.
[Toucans sob, wing rustles]
DESCRIPTION: Camp Leader puts her left wing around Bud and Louie’s shoulders as they hold each other and cry.
CAMP LEADER: Don't worry. We can go together and welcome them back. Can't we?
LOUIE: Huh?
[Odo and Doodle giggle, feathers rustle, bird sings, upbeat music plays, buzzing, panting]
DESCRIPTION: Feathers wave. Later, Bud, Louie, and Doodle carry the bug hotel across a clearing, following Camp Leader. Odo walks behind them, carrying a beetle. More beetles follow on the grass, and a butterfly and a bee follow above. The toucans put the bug hotel back on the table.
ODO: There, all back, safe and sound.
[Bugs chitter]
DESCRIPTION: Bugs enter the hotel.
LOUIE: Welcome back, everyone! We hope you enjoy your stay.
[Toucans chuckle, rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Doodle stands on a stump and extends a small branch towards a beetle.
BUD: You're always welcome at the bug hotel.
[Bugs chitter, munching]

DOODLE: Huh? Hup! Wow, look!
[Everyone gasps, Bud chuckles]
DESCRIPTION: Vibrant flowers bloom in the bushes.
CAMP LEADER: Well, yes. For flowers to be happy, they need help from bugs-- bees and beetles. No bugs means no happy flowers.
[Rustle, mellow music plays, buzzing]
DESCRIPTION: Bud and Louie pick flowers, and Bud puts a small bouquet in one of the hotel doorways.
BUD: Here you are, bugs. A special gift to say sorry to you.
[Bud chuckles, bee buzzes]
DESCRIPTION: Bud smiles as the bee lands on the flowers.
CAMP LEADER: Oh! They might just be your most beautiful bunch yet.
ODO: Nice and welcoming.
[Doodle giggles, bees buzz, wings rustle]
DESCRIPTION: Doodle nods. Camp Leader stands amongst the flowers and holds out her wings. Butterflies and bees flutter past her.
CAMP LEADER: You see, everything in the forest is connected. If you change one thing, it changes many things. That's how nature works.
DESCRIPTION: A beetle lands on Louie’s bill. They have long black hair and wear eyeglasses.
LOUIE: Look, there's John!
[Bird chirps]
ODO: John?
LOUIE: Yeah, heh-heh, we called that beetle John.
[Beetles chitter]
DESCRIPTION: Nearby, Bud smiles with three more long-haired beetles on his bill. Louie points at the beetles, and they wave.
LOUIE: And that one, Paul. That one is called George. And that one, Ringo.
BUD: And that ladybug there in the corner is Yoko.
[Everyone laughs, rock music plays]
DESCRIPTION: The beetles gather on the hotel roof with mini instruments. Yoko, a ladybug with long black hair, watches. The other campers arrive as the beetles play their instruments.
LOUIE: Yeah!
CAMP LEADER: Oh!
[Campers cheer, laugh]
DESCRIPTION: The campers gather around the bug hotel and watch the performance as more bugs skitter towards the hotel.
ODO: Yeah!
