[Title] NumberBlocks.

[Gentle music plays]

DESCRIPTION: The sun shines brightly over NumberLand. In a garden behind a fence, NumberBlock One watches Six water a sunflower.

SIX: Take a look, and you will see, my sunflower is as tall as me!

DESCRIPTION: Six transforms into a stack of six blocks.

ONE: Oh, yes. It's six blocks tall, just like you, Six! But look at mine!

DESCRIPTION: Six looks at One’s taller sunflower.

SIX: Wow! Your flower is really tall. It's not much shorter than the wall.

DESCRIPTION: Three joins Six and One.

THREE: Not bad. Although... Mine is enormous! It's as tall as the sun!

DESCRIPTION: Three’s sunflower is taller than the fence, also known as the wall.

THREE: All right, maybe not quite as tall as that, but still very tall.

SIX: It's the tallest sunflower of them all! I think it's more than...

DESCRIPTION: Six, One and Three combine into NumberBlock Ten.

TEN: ...10 blocks tall.

DESCRIPTION: Ten breaks apart into Six, One and Three.

[Six, One and Three giggling]

[Whooshing]

DESCRIPTION: NumberBlock Eighteen blasts by on their rockets. Eighteen returns and stops beside Three’s sunflower.

[NumberBlock imitating tires screeching]

EIGHTEEN: Wowsers trousers! That sunflower is taller than I am!

DESCRIPTION: Eighteen transforms into a stack of eighteen blocks and stands beside the tall sunflower.

EIGHTEEN: I mean, shorter than I am! I mean, I want to grow something even taller! Right now!

[One giggling]

ONE: Eighteen! Sunflowers take a long time to grow.

EIGHTEEN: Well then, I'll have to find something that grows faster, won't I?

DESCRIPTION: Eighteen flies away as a rectangle.

EIGHTEEN: Whee!

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen joins One, Six and Three.

[Sixteen snorting]

SIXTEEN: You think that sunflower is a whopper? Come and see mine! My sunflower has square petals. And square leaves. It even has...

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen breaks apart into four Fours.

FOURS SINGING: …square roots.

DESCRIPTION: The Four fours come together into Sixteen. One, Six and Three look at Sixteen’s tall, square sunflower.

[Sixteen snorting]

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen climbs a ladder to the top of the square sunflower.

SIXTEEN: You grow, girl.

THREE: Wait, wait, wait! It is fairly tall, but I think mine is taller. Hmm.

DESCRIPTION: Three looks around, then runs back to the other sunflowers. Three jumps and tries measuring the tallest sunflower with their arm.

[Three grunting]

THREE: Hmm.

DESCRIPTION: Three runs back to the square sunflower and narrows their eyes. Three runs back and forth between the sunflowers.

[Three sighing]

THREE: It's hard to tell which is taller when you can't see both at once.

ONE: Look! Sixteen’s ladder is the same height as her sunflower!

THREE: So? This isn't about who's got the tallest l
adder.

SIX: But we can take it over there and use the ladder to compare!

SIXTEEN: Now that's smart thinking!

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen carries the ladder over to the other sunflowers. Three, Six and One follow.

THREE: So, your sunflower is exactly one ladder tall, Sixteen.

SIXTEEN: And your sunflower is...

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen raises the ladder next to Three’s sunflower.

SIXTEEN: ...also exactly one ladder tall.

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen holds the ladder above the ground.

THREE: Uh, hey!

[One giggling]

ONE: Sixteen! You need to measure from the ground, or it's not fair.

SIXTEEN: Oh, silly me!

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen places the ladder on the ground. At the height of the fence, the ladder is shorter than Three’s sunflower.

THREE: My sunflower is one ladder and a bit tall.

SIXTEEN: Which means my sunflower is shorter than yours.

DESCRIPTION: Nineteen joins the group.

NINETEEN: Aye. So if you like big plants, you should come and see mine!

DESCRIPTION: The group of NumberBlocks walk to another part of the garden.

THREE: Uh...

SIX: Hmm.

NINETEEN: My moonflower is a real one-off.

DESCRIPTION: Three, Six, One and Sixteen look at a crescent-shaped moonflower vine lying horizontally in Nineteen’s flower garden.

THREE, SIX, ONE AND SIXTEEN: Oh!

THREE: It's not very tall.

NINETEEN: Ah, but moonflowers grow sideways. They grow long rather than tall. And my moonflower is really long.

THREE: Is that the same thing?

SIXTEEN: They are both ways to measure distance. Look at me.

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen passes One the ladder.

SIXTEEN: I'm four blocks wide, and four blocks tall.

NINETEEN: So is my moonflower longer than your sunflower is tall?

[Three gasping]

THREE: It's ladder time.

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen holds the ladder horizontally over the moonflower.

ONE: It's one ladder and a bit long. The same as your sunflower, Three.

THREE: No, no, no. I'm sure my bit was bigger than your bit.

DESCRIPTION: Three stands horizontally at the end of the ladder, over the moonflower.

THREE: It's one ladder and one block long.

DESCRIPTION: Three stands beside One.

THREE: But how many blocks long is your ladder, Sixteen?

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen holds the ladder upright and stretches into a stack of blocks.

SIXTEEN: Ten blocks tall, or to put it another way, 10 blocks long.

[Sixteen laughing and snorting]

THREE: So that means your moonflower is 10 plus one, 11 blocks long.

[Celebratory horn]

SIXTEEN: Come on! Let's measure your sunflower.

DESCRIPTION: Three and Sixteen walk up to Three’s flower.

THREE: You hold the ladder here. I'll climb up and balance on top of it.

DESCRIPTION: Sixteen stands as a stack of sixteen blocks.

THREE: Or you could do that.

SIXTEEN: That's two more than ten. Your sunflower is twelve blocks high.

DESCRIPTION: Six, Nineteen and One join Three and Sixteen.

NINETEEN: So, your sunflower is longer than my moonflower, Three! Incredible!

DESCRIPTION: Three rests the ladder against the fence.

THREE: It might just be the tallest plant ever.

EIGHTEEN CALLING OUT: Or not!

DESCRIPTION: The group of NumberBlocks rush over to a giant beanstalk and look up at Eighteen.

EIGHTEEN: Breaking news! Would you mind helping me down?

SIXTEEN: We're going to need a taller ladder.

[Sixteen snorting]
