Descriptive Transcript
DESCRIPTION: Colourful Numberblocks run together over grassy hills. Each Numberblock is named by the total number of blocks it contains. 1 is a red square, 2 is orange, 3 is yellow, 4 is green, and 5 is blue. They all have smiling faces.
SINGERS: One, two, three, four, five Numberblocks
DESCRIPTION: Five more Numberblocks jump into the sky together. 6 is purple and polka dotted, 7 is rainbow, 8 is hot pink, 9 is grey, and 10 is grey and red.
SINGERS: Six, seven, eight, nine, ten Numberblocks
DESCRIPTION: Numberblocks combine to create larger Numberblocks.
SINGERS: One and another one is two and another one is
THREE: Me!
SINGERS: That's three!
DESCRIPTION: Numberblocks dance together in the sky and run through a grassy field.
SINGERS: Five, four, three, two, one! It's time for some number fun! You can count on us. We're the Numberblocks!
[Title] “Numberblocks”.
DESCRIPTION: Ten white huts sit in a line on a sandy beach. Each hut is labelled one through ten. Forty works on the tenth hut, and Four stands beside him. A seagull flies by.
[Squawking]
[Hammering]
FORTY: Oh. Hm.
FOUR: Great job, 40! These huts are going to make the Friendly Fours' Beach Day better than ever.
FORTY: Everyone has their own hut. I'm ten fours and this is the tenth beach hut. So it must be mine.
DESCRIPTION: Forty knocks on the tenth hut’s door. The number “40” appears on the door. Four runs to the first hut.
[Knocking]
FORTY: 40!
[Giggling]
DESCRIPTION: Four knocks on the first hut. The number “4” appears on the door.
FOUR: And I'm the first of the Friendly Fours. So, the first hut is for me. Four!
[Giggling]
[Yawning]
FORTY: I'm exhausted after all that. Times for 40 winks, a nice nap.
[Sighing]
DESCRIPTION: Forty goes into his hut.
[Snoring]
FOUR: But who gets the other huts? I'm sure I can figure it out.
DESCRIPTION: Near the water, a gold mirror stands in the sand. A seagull is perched on the top of the mirror. Four smiles and walks over to the mirror.
[Squawking]
FOUR: Although, I could always use some help.
[Humming]
DESCRIPTION: Four looks in the mirror, and a second Four jumps out. The two Fours combine and create Eight.
FOUR: Two fours are…
EIGHT: Octoblock to the rescue!
DESCRIPTION: Eight has eight octopus arms.
EIGHT: Hut number two for you-know-who.
DESCRIPTION: Eight knocks on the second hut. The number “8” appears on the door.
[Knocking]
EIGHT: Eight! But who gets the others?
[Gasping]
EIGHT: I know!
DESCRIPTION: Eight copies himself in the mirror. The two Eights combine and create Sixteen.
SIXTEEN: You know what 16 is!
DESCRIPTION: Sixteen separates into four Fours, who wear hats and stand on top of each other.
FOURS [singing]: Four fours
DESCRIPTION: The four Fours combine to create Sixteen.
[Giggling]
SIXTEEN: Which means I get the fourth hut!
DESCRIPTION: Sixteen knocks on the fourth hut. The number “16” appears on the door.
[Knocking]
SIXTEEN: 16! Four, eight, a gap, then me. Who are my neighbours?
DESCRIPTION: Sixteen separates into a Four and a Twelve.
FOUR: Hello, 12. You need a hut. Now, 12 is greater than eight, but less than 16.
TWELVE: So, I should be somewhere in between. There! Hut number three. Three fours are 12.
DESCRIPTION: Twelve knocks on the third hut, where the number “12” appears. Just then, Twenty approaches Four and Twelve. Twenty has a top hat and a cane.
TWENTY: Ah! Here comes 20! Which hut's mine? I'm two 10s or, switch, four fives.
FOUR: Wait! If you're four fives, you're also five fours. You get the fifth hut!
DESCRIPTION: Twenty knocks on the fifth hut, and the number “20” appears.
[Knocking]
TWENTY: Hut 20.
FOUR: That's the first five huts sorted.
FOUR [singing]: Four, eight, 12, 16, 20
TWENTY: But who gets the next one?
FOUR: Whoever is four more than you.
DESCRIPTION: Four jumps onto Twenty, and creates Twenty-four.
FOUR: Hup!
[Giggling]
TWELVE: 24! Welcome to the Friendly Fours Beach Day. This hut must be yours.
DESCRIPTION: Twenty-four knocks on the sixth hut, and the number “24” appears.
[Knocking]
TWENTY- FOUR: Super duper! 24!
DESCRIPTION: Twelve looks at the remaining three huts.
TWELVE: So who gets those? Maybe four can help.
DESCRIPTION: Twelve separates into Four and Eight.
FOUR: We already have our huts, eight. So…
DESCRIPTION: Eight copies himself in the mirror, and combines to create Sixteen.
EIGHT: I'm two fours.
SIXTEEN: Double up! So I'm four fours.
DESCRIPTION: Sixteen copies herself in the mirror, and combines to create Thirty-two.
BOTH: Double up!
THIRTY-TWO: And I'm eight fours.
FOUR: 32! So you get hut eight here.
DESCRIPTION: Thirty-two knocks on the eighth hut, and the number “32” appears on the door.
[Knocking]
THIRTY-TWO: 32!
TWENTY-FOUR: Nobody's in hut seven yet. Ah, I wonder who our neighbour is.
THIRTY-TWO: It'll be whoever is four more than you and four less than me.
[Gasping]
DESCRIPTION: Twenty-four and Four rush over to the mirror. Four copies himself and combines with Twenty-four to create Twenty-eight.
FOUR: 24 more than me is...
TWENTY-EIGHT: 28!
THIRTY-TWO: Good to see you, neighbour! Grab a hut!
DESCRIPTION: Twenty-eight knocks on the seventh hut, and the number “28” appears on the door.
[Knocking]
TWENTY-EIGHT: 28!
DESCRIPTION: Just then, Forty comes out of his hut.
[Yawning]
FOUR: 40! Look at the huts! We've got...
ALL [singing]: Four, eight, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32
FORTY: But who's next door to me?
THIRTY-TWO: It'll be whoever is four less than you.
DESCRIPTION: Forty separates into Four and Thirty-six.
FOUR: 36! There's only one hut left. Hut number nine. Is that right?
THIRTY-SIX: You tell me. I'm a big square made of squares.
DESCRIPTION: Thirty-six separates into four groups of Nine.
ALL: And if we can be four nines, we can also be…
DESCRIPTION: Thirty-six separates into nine groups of Four.
ALL: Nine fours.
DESCRIPTION: The fours come together to create Thirty-six.
FOUR: You are in the right place!
DESCRIPTION: Thirty-six knocks on the ninth hut, and the number “36” appears on the door.
[Knocking]
THIRTY-SIX: 36!
DESCRIPTION: Four and Thirty-six combine into Forty.
FORTY: Now we've got our beach huts, we just need the rest of the Friendly fours.
DESCRIPTION: Suddenly, all of the Friendly Fours run down the beach and stand in front of their huts.
[Rumbling]
[All clamouring]
ALL [singing]: Four, eight, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40
THIRTY-TWO: Now, who's for a sand-castle competition?
[All cheering]
[Upbeat music]
