Transcript: Treehouse of Opposites
[Funky, upbeat music plays]
In stop-motion animation, a yellow blob alien, Bumpi, flies through outer space.
Bumpi says, AH?
Bumpi spots planet Earth in the distance.
[Bumpi exclaiming]
Bumpi flies toward Earth. Exhaust fumes form a title.
Bumpi reads, BUMPADOO!

[Light, cheerful music plays]
The episode title reads, “Treehouse of Opposites. Written by Carmen Albano.” In LiLi’s backyard, LiLi swings on the tire swing under her treehouse. Edgar sleeps below her. As a blob, Bumpi bounces across the yard.
[LiLi giggling]
LiLi cheers, WEE!
[LiLi giggling]
Bumpi appears in front of LiLi and watches her swing forward.
Bumpi says, AH.
LiLi says, UP!
Closer to LiLi, Bumpi says, WAH?
LiLi swings backward and says, DOWN.
[LiLi and Bumpi giggling]
Bumpi moves closer. LiLi starts to swing up toward Bumpi, and her eyes widen.
[LiLi gasping]
Giggling, Bumpi says, WHA –
Bumpi frowns and says, OH!
LiLi yelps, WHOA!
Bumpi splits in half. LiLi swings between Bumpi’s halves.
[Bumpi yelping]
LiLi yelps, YIKES!
[LiLi sighing]
Still resting nearby, Edgar glances toward LiLi.
LiLi says, HI, BUMPI!
The tire swing slows to a stop, and LiLi hops off. Bumpi returns to a regular, single blob shape.
[Bumpi grunting]
[LiLi giggling]
Bumpi looks at the swing and says, OOH?
LiLi says, THIS IS A TIRE SWING.
Bumpi says, AH!
Bumpi stretches into the shape of a tire swing and hangs beside LiLi’s swing.
[Bumpi grunting]
[Bumpi giggling]
[LiLi giggling]
LiLi asks, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SWING?
Bumpi switches back to a blob shape and leaps into LiLi’s tire swing.
Bumpi cheers, TIRE SWING!
LiLi gently pushes Bumpi in the swing.
[Bumpi briefly giggling]
Bumpi says, OH.
[Bumpi groaning]
Bumpi looks disappointed. The swing stops swinging.
[Bumpi grumbling]
LiLi says, TOO LOW? YOU WANT TO GO HIGH? HIGH IS THE OPPOSITE OF LOW.
LiLi holds her hand up and then down.
Bumpi says, OPPO-SUIT?
LiLi says, YES, OPPOSITES ARE THINGS THAT ARE AS DIFFERENT AS CAN BE. LOW.
LiLi gently pushes the tire swing, and Bumpi frowns.
[Bumpi groaning]
LiLi says, NOW THE OPPOSITE: HIGH!
LiLi gives the tire swing a big push, and Bumpi swings high into the air.
Bumpi cheers, YAY!
[Bumpi exclaiming]
Lili pushes Bumpi higher.
[Bumpi giggling]
Bumpi slips out of the tire swing and soars toward the tree.
Bumpi yelps, W-W-WHOA!
[Edgar grumbling]
Edgar looks up toward the treehouse at the top of a rope ladder.
[LiLi gasping]
LiLi asks, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?
Bumpi sticks to the bottom of the treehouse.
Bumpi says, HIGH!
LiLi says, YES, YOU ARE WAY UP HIGH AT THE TOP OF THE ROPE LADDER.
Bumpi slips off the bottom of the treehouse and stumbles down the rope ladder.
[Bumpi grunting and groaning]
Bumpi lands on the ground beside Edgar. Bumpi stretches into the shape of an oval and smiles at Edgar.
[Bumpi giggling]
[LiLi giggling]
LiLi says, WE USE THE LADDER TO GO UP AND DOWN. "UP" AND "DOWN" ARE OPPOSITES TOO.
Bumpi slithers up the ladder.
[Bumpi exclaiming]
At the top, Bumpi holds onto the rope and looks at LiLi.
Bumpi says, OOH?
LiLi says, YES, YOU ARE UP AT THE TOP!
Bumpi stumbles down the ladder to the ground.
[Bumpi exclaiming]
LiLi says, NOW YOU'RE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM.
Bumpi says, DUNE?
Bumpi leaps past the ladder toward the treehouse.
Bumpi cheers, OOP-UP-A-DOO!
Bumpi peeks through a trapdoor in the treehouse floor at the top of the ladder.
Bumpi says, OOH! WAH!
LiLi says, IT'S A TRAPDOOR. THAT'S HOW WE GET IN.
Inside the treehouse, Bumpi moves away from the trapdoor, and LiLi climbs through.
LiLi says, NOW WE'RE INSIDE.
Bumpi says, UH?
Bumpi stretches halfway out a window.
[Bumpi giggling]
LiLi says, NOW YOU'RE OUTSIDE. "INSIDE" AND "OUTSIDE": OPPOSITES!
Bumpi dives outside through the trapdoor and reappears at the window.
[Bumpi grunting]
Bumpi says, OOT-SIDE, INSIDE.
Bumpi pops inside through the trapdoor and says, INSIDE!
[LiLi giggling]
Bumpi OOT-SIDE, INSIDE! OOT-SIDE, INSIDE!
Bumpi pops in and out of the treehouse. Bumpi knocks a pair of binoculars off a shelf.
Bumpi says, OOH.
[Exciting music briefly plays]
LiLi says, THOSE ARE BINOCULARS. THEY MAKE THINGS FAR AWAY LOOK CLOSE.
Bumpi looks out the window at Edgar through the binoculars.
Bumpi says, WHA?
LiLi says, EDGAR LOOKS CLOSE, BUT HE'S ACTUALLY FAR.
Bumpi says, FAR? CLOSE, FAR, CLOSE, FAR.
Bumpi raises and lowers the binoculars.
Bumpi says, OPPOSITES!
LiLi appears in front of Bumpi.
[LiLi giggling]
[Bumpi exclaiming]
[Bumpi giggling]
Bumpi drops the binoculars and dives through the trapdoor.
Bumpi cheers, AH-HOW!
Bumpi pops in and out of the door and windows in the treehouse.
Bumpi says, OOT-SIDE, INSIDE, OOT-SIDE, INSIDE, OOT-SIDE.
LiLi looks out the window. Bumpi appears at the top of the tree.
[LiLi giggling]
Bumpi says, OPPOSITES!
[LiLi giggling]
Bumpi says, OOT-SIDE, INSIDE, OOT-SIDE.
