One red block with eyes has the number one over it. Beside it runs Two’ a stack of two orange blocks; Three, a stack of three yellow blocks; Four, a square made of four green blocks; and Five, a stack of five blue blocks.
Voices sing, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE,
NUMBERBLOCKS
Six, two columns of three blocks, jumps into the air. Seven, a stack of seven different coloured blocks; Eight, two columns of four blocks; Nine, three columns of three blocks; and Ten, a stack of ten white blocks outlined in red; jump into the air.
Voices sing, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, TEN,

Numbers Twelve and Four stand to the left of red curtains. Fifteen, One, Two and Sixteen stand in a line to the right of the curtains. A painter’s palette hangs over the curtains.
[Rocket ship engine]
The numbers say, OOH!
[Rock music plays]
Ten lands on grass and lets go of Seven. They run and stand in front of the doors.
Seven says, THANKS FOR THE LIFT, TEN.
ARE WE IN TIME?
The other numbers answer, YES!
Seven says, THAT'S LUCKY!
I WOULDN'T MISS THE OPENING OF
NUMBERLAND'S FIRST ART GALLERY
FOR THE WORLD!
Three peers through an opening between the curtains. She looks at Seven and Ten.
Three says, YOU AND YOU!
[Piano notes play]
She pulls Seven and Ten through the gap.
[Gasps]
Ten says, AH, I LIKE IT, BUT WHERE'S
THE ART?
The walls of a room are empty.
Three says, OH, I SPENT SO LONG MAKING
SPARKLY INVITATIONS I FORGOT TO
GET ANY!
Ten and Seven gasp, OOH!
They ask, CAN WE HELP?
Three says, I THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK.
Ten lies on a slope. Seven stands on her.
Ten and Seven ask BOTH: ARE YOU SURE?
Three says, YOU'RE A ROCKET, YOU'RE FULL
OF COLOURS.
FLY THROUGH THE MUSEUM AND MAKE
ART!
Seven and Ten say, BUT...
Three interrupts, GO!
Ten says, TEN...
Three interrupts, NINE EIGHT SEVEN SIX FIVE
FOUR THREE TWO ONE, BLAST OFF!
Ten flies around the room, spinning.
Seven says, WHOA!
Ten says, TEN
A stack of ten blocks appears.
A stack of seven blocks appears beside it.
Seven says, PLUS SEVEN
Both say, EQUALS...
Seventeen says, SEVENTEEN!
OOH, NOW THERE'S A SURPRISE.
I AM SEVENTEEN, AND I LOVE TO
PAINT.
Splatters of colour appear on Seventeen. Three runs to Seventeen.
Three says, OOH, THEY'RE COMING IN!
[Crowd muttering]
Three shoves Seventeen and says, GO, GO, GO!
Seventeen says, DON'T MIND IF I DO.
[Cheerful music plays]
Three smiles and sits on a stool.

PORTRAITS
MAJESTIC AND SERENE

[Chime]
Seventeen winks.
He paints easels as they float past his paintbrush.

[Giggling]

Three hangs on the wall with seventeen paintings of her face.
Seventeen paintings of Three say, NO, LOOK AT ME!
One and Two look at Three and the paintings.
One says, HMM, NICE JUXTAPOSITION.
[Happy music plays]

BLUE BIRDS
IN A LOVELY NATURE SCENE
WHY PAINT ONLY A FEW BIRDS
WHEN I PAINT SEVENTEEN?
Seventeen spins an easel. A canvas has seventeen bird shapes on it.
Seventeen sings, TEN AND SEVEN, SEVENTEEN
[Birds chirp]
Seventeen birds fly out of the painting and fly past Three. She spins.
Three says, WHOA, HEY!
Birds perch on Three.
She says, OH.
[Birds chirp]
Four says, MMM, NICE JUXTAPOSITION.
[Happy music plays]
Seventeen sings, SOME PAINTERS PAINT FLOWERS
THEY LOOK SO SUBLIME
I PAINT FOR HOURS
SEVENTEEN OF EVERYTHING TAKES TIME
Seventeen flowers fill a vase.
Three pushes the flowers to the side and peers out from between them.
She asks, WHAT?
Six says, NICE JUXTAPOSITION.
Eight says, HMM.
Seventeen throws a black bowler hat on Three’s head. A green apple sits on her face as she stands in front of a painting of a blue sky and puffy clouds.
Seventeen sings, SOME PAINTERS LIKE TO
PAINT APPLES
IN BRILLIANT SHADES OF GREEN
[Crunch]
Three bites the apple.
[Happy music plays]
Seventeen sings, I CAN ALSO PAINT APPLES

Seventeen spins an easel and shows a canvas with seventeen apples painted on it.
He sings, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE,

[Slide whistle]
The apples fly off of the canvas and hit Three.
She exclaims, HEY!

[Happy music plays]

SOUP CANS
I LIKE A WHOLE TUREEN
Three peeks out of a tureen.
Seventeen sings, SO I PAINT PLENTY OF SOUP
CANS

TEN AND SEVEN, SEVENTEEN
ALLEZ-SOUP
The painted soup cans jump off a canvas and pour on to Three.
[Splatter]
[Grumbling]
She looks unhappy.
Nine says, NICE JUXTAPOSITION.
Nine sips from a cup.
[Slurp]
Seventeen shakes paint off and says, BRR!
Three dodges paint as it hits a canvas behind her.
She says, AAH!
[Happy music plays]
Seventeen sings, SOME PAINTERS PAINT
SPLATTERS

MY NUMBER'S WHAT MATTERS
SEVENTEEN IS LOTS AND LOTS OF
SPOTS
[Laughing]
Balls jump off a canvas and land on Three. They roll beneath her feet.
[Stammering]
Fourteen and Thirteen say, OOH, NICE
JUXTAPOSITION.
[Growling]
[A scream]
Seventeen says, HOLD THAT POSE!
Three holds her hands beside her head as Seventeen paints.
[Happy music plays]

Seventeen faces of Three scream.
