In this festive episode of Green Squad, 10-year-old Arielle wants to make her family’s Christmas more eco-friendly without losing any holiday cheer. With the help of Éric and Shakira, the Squad sets out to find the perfect sustainable tree, learning about native species and even “living trees,” that go back to the tree farm after the holiday to be re-used the following year. Back home, they craft biodegradable garlands with popcorn and cranberries and create unique handmade gifts using upcycled materials—including a special ornament for Arielle’s best friend. They also create unique, reusable gift boxes, proving that packaging can be green and beautiful.
