Then, the speech bubbles show the names of the characters.
Melissa is in her twenties and has long, straight, brown hair with bangs. She wears a pink knitted hat, a red shirt, a white jacket, and black pants.
Shamus is in his twenties and has short, black hair. He wears a black fedora, black glasses, a plaid shirt with a blue bow-tie, and red pants.
Ruth is in her thirties and has medium-length blonde hair with bangs. She wears a light-blue ensemble of sportswear.

In the kitchen, Melissa holds an envelope and says I LOVE GETTING

She grabs a cheque, gasps and says 50 DOLLARS!!

(music plays)

She does a little happy dance.

On the tablet screen, Shamus says WHAT'S UP,
MELISSA?

Melissa pants and says SHAMUS, 50
BIRTHDAY, GRAMMY...

Shamus says WHAT ARE YOU SO
EXCITED ABOUT?

Melissa screams I GOT 50 DOLLARS
FOR MY BIRTHDAY
FROM MY GRAMMY!!
WHOO!

Shamus gasps.

Melissa says WAIT A SECOND.
WHAT IS THIS PIECE OF
PAPER SUPPOSED TO BE?
HOW DO I GET
THE MONEY?
IS THIS MONEY?
I'M SO CONFUSED!

Shamus says RELAX, MELISSA.
THAT IS CALLED
A CHEQUE.
IT'S AN EASIER
AND SAFER WAY
TO SEND LOTS
OF MONEY.
YOU NEED TO DEPOSIT
IT AT A BANK.

Melissa says I'LL GET RUTH TO MEET
ME AT THE BANK.
SHE'LL KNOW
WHAT TO DO.

(music plays)

Melissa runs outside and meets Ruth outside the bank.

Ruth says HEY, MELISSA,
WHAT'S UP?

Melissa says WELL, RUTH, IT'S NO
BIG DEAL OR ANYTHING.
BUT I GOT A CHEQUE
FOR 50 DOLLARS!

Ruth says WHOO.

Melissa says EXCEPT I HAVE
NO IDEA
HOW TO
DEPOSIT IT.
BUT, YOU KNOW WHEN I WANNA
FIND SOMETHING OUT...

She screams I AM UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Ruth says I KNOW, I KNOW.
LET'S JUST GO INTO THE
BANK AND DO THIS.

(music plays)

Inside the bank, Melissa says I'M HERE TO
DEPOSIT A CHEQUE.

Ruth says OKAY, FIRST, YOU
PUT YOUR DEBIT CARD
INTO THIS MACHINE
AND ENTER
YOUR PERSONAL
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
THAT'S HOW THEY ACCESS
YOUR INFORMATION.
LOOK AT YOU GO.
NOW, HAND OVER
YOUR CHEQUE.

Melissa says HAND OVER
MY CHEQUE?!
HAND OVER MY
50 DOLLARS?!
ARE YOU CRAZY?!

Ruth says DON'T WORRY, KID, THIS IS
HOW YOU GET YOUR MONEY.

They give the cheque to the teller.

Ruth says THANK YOU.
THAT'S ALL OF OUR
BUSINESS FOR TODAY.
NOW, GET YOUR RECEIPT
AND LET'S GO.

Melissa says UHH, THANK YOU.
IS THAT IT?

Ruth says YOU BETCHA
THAT'S IT.
NOW, YOU CAN TAKE
OUT YOUR MONEY
WITH YOUR BANK CARD, OR YOU
CAN SAVE IT FOR A WHILE.
ALSO, IF YOU'RE
PRESSED FOR TIME,
YOU CAN DEPOSIT
YOUR CHEQUE
USING ONE OF THESE
BANK MACHINES.

Melissa says WHOA!

Ruth says AND SOME BANKS EVEN HAVE
MOBILE PHONES APPS.

CHEQUE AND IT DEPOSITS IT
RIGHT INTO YOUR
ACCOUNT.

Melissa says DOUBLE WHOA!
AND THAT CALLS FOR

(music plays)

They do a victory dance.
