(soft music plays)

An animated title against a sunny sky reads "TVOKids Power Hour of Learning."

In off, Laura says WELCOME TO
TVOKIDS
POWER HOUR OF LEARNING.
TODAY'S JUNIOR LESSON: MINDFULNESS.

A caption reads "Junior 4-6. Teacher Jessica." Jessica stands next to a whiteboard with posters behind her. She is in her twenties with long black hair. She wears a patterned shirt with white sleeves and headphones.

Jessica says HEY, TVOKIDS.
WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER
POWER
HOUR OF LEARNING.
MY NAME IS
TEACHER JESSICA,
AND I'M ALL THE WAY
FROM MILTON, ONTARIO.
THE SCHOOL THAT I TEACH AT
IS AT HOLY ROSARY.
I AM SO EXCITED
TO BE HERE WITH YOU TODAY.
TODAY WE ARE GONNA BE LEARNING
ABOUT POSITIVITY,
INCLUSIVITY,
AND KINDNESS,
RIGHT FROM THE COMFORT
OF YOUR HOME.
WHAT I'M GONNA TELL YOU
IS THAT I ALWAYS
TELL THIS TO MY STUDENTS.
THERE ARE TWO RULES
THAT WE NEED TO FOLLOW.
NUMBER ONE, MAKE SURE
YOU HAVE YOUR THINKING CAP ON,
BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE
A FUN TIME,
AND NUMBER TWO,
ALWAYS KEEP THAT POSITIVITY.
BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT
GET CHALLENGING AT TIMES,
DON'T WORRY.
YOU HAVE YOUR TEACHERS,
YOUR ADULTS,
YOUR FRIENDS, AND ME
TO HELP GUIDE YOU
ALONG THE WAY.
OKAY. LET'S BEGIN WITH THE WORD
"MINDFULNESS."
WHAT DOES THE WORD "MINDFULNESS."
MEAN TO YOU?
YOU MIGHT NEED
TO BREAK IT APART.
MIND-FUL-NESS.
LET'S TAKE A MOMENT
TO REFLECT ON MINDFULNESS.
I'M HEARING A LOT
OF GREAT ANSWERS.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK
AT THAT DEFINITION.

She turns a page hanging on the whiteboard.

She says MINDFULNESS MEANS PAYING
FULL ATTENTION TO SOMETHING.
IT MEANS SLOWING DOWN TO REALLY
NOTICE WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
BEING MINDFUL IS THE OPPOSITE
OF RUSHING AND MULTITASKING.
WHEN YOU'RE MINDFUL,
YOU'RE TAKING YOUR TIME.
YOU'RE FOCUSED
IN A RELAXED AND EASY WAY.
NOW THAT WE DEFINED WHAT
MINDFULNESS MEANS TO US,
LET'S EXPLORE A TVO ASSET THAT
FOCUSES ON MINDFULNESS MAPS.
WE MIGHT NEED
TO CREATE ONE LATER ON,
SO STAY TUNED.

A blank slate reads "TVOKids presents."

Music plays.

In animation, the opening of the show rolls.

As the sun comes up between the mountains, colourful letters with different mood facial expressions form the name of the show. It reads "How do you feel?"

Akin stands in front of a map of North America showing clouds that move into the continent from the North Pole.

Akin is in his early teens, with slightly long braided brown hair and wears jeans and a blue shirt.

He says LOOKS LIKE WE'VE GOT A COLD FRONT COMING IN FROM THE NORTH, MIXING WITH A PRESSURE SYSTEM COMING IN FROM THE SOUTH. WHEN THESE MEET IN THE MOUNTAINS, IT'S GOING TO BE... A BLIZZARD? IN AUGUST? NO, NO, NO, NO! I DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS! AH!

He runs away, then walks into his room. Akin's room is full of colourful furniture, has different colour walls, a black and white checkered floor, pink curtains, and a neon sign that reads "Feelings" behind a couch.

He says THE WEATHER CAN BE A REAL BUMMER SOMETIMES. IT'S ALWAYS CHANGING AND CAN BE HARD TO PREDICT. FEELINGS ARE KIND OF LIKE THAT, TOO. THEY COME AND GO, CHANGING EVERY DAY. I CREATED THIS MINDFULNESS MAP TO HELP FORECAST MY MOODS. WE CAN'T ALWAYS CONTROL THE WAY WE'RE FEELING, BUT WE CAN ALWAYS MAKE THINGS BETTER BY PAYING ATTENTION. THAT'S CALLED BEING "MINDFUL": NOTICING WHAT WE'RE THINKING AND FEELING, AND LETTING IT BE OKAY.

He approaches a board that hangs on a wall with a silhouette of himself cut out of a landscape picture.

He says I MIGHT WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING A LITTLE SAD.

He pins a small cloud onto the board and says LATER THE SAME DAY, I MIGHT FEEL EXCITED AND CREATIVE.

He pins a small paper sun onto the board, then a small paper rainbow.

He says BY NIGHTTIME, I MIGHT FEEL A LITTLE TIRED AND SENSITIVE.

Akin pins a moon and a blue cloud onto the board.

He says BEING MINDFUL DOESN'T MEAN WE NEVER FEEL UPSET OR BAD. IT JUST MEANS THAT WE RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S ALL TEMPORARY. AS MY DOG PATTY LIKES TO SAY, "THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS."

He looks up at a sign that reads "Inspiration from Patty. 1) Woof, woof, bark. 2) This too shall pass."

[dog barks]

Akin says WHAT A LEGEND.

He picks up a basketball, approaches a curtain, pulls it open and reveals horrible weather outside.

[wind blowing]

He puts on a warm woollen hat and says SOMETIMES, THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT GOES!

He walks outside.

(music plays)

Teacher Jessica reappears and says IT'S IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER
THAT OUR FEELINGS ARE CHANGING,
JUST LIKE THE WEATHER.
THEY'RE ALWAYS CHANGING.
SOMETIMES YOU WAKE UP,
YOU MIGHT FEEL
A LITTLE BIT STORMY,
THE NEXT MOMENT
YOU'RE SUNNY.
IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU
RECOGNIZE THOSE FEELINGS,
AND THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT
IS THROUGH A MINDFULNESS MAP.
ONE WAY TO CHANGE
THOSE STORMS INTO SUNSHINE
IS TO SLOW IT DOWN AND TO HAVE
THAT POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
LIKE OVER HERE.

She points the word "Attitude" written vertically on a piece of paper.

She says I'M GONNA BEGIN WITH CREATING
AN ATTITUDE ACROSTIC POEM.
BUT BEFORE WE GET TO THAT,
WE HAVE TO FOCUS
ON TWO DIFFERENT MINDSETS.
WHEN WE LOOK AT MINDSETS,
WE NEED TO REALIZE THAT
THERE'S "GROWTH MINDSET."
VERSUS "FIXED MINDSET."
YOU MIGHT ASK,
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
WELL, LET'S START
WITH "GROWTH MINDSET."
GROWTH MINDSET IS ALL ABOUT
FOCUSING ON THE POSITIVE SIDE.
YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE
TO DO IT YET,
BUT YOU WILL GET THERE
WITH THE TOOLS
THAT YOU HAVE IN PLACE.
VERSUS A FIXED MINDSET,
YOU FEEL THAT
YOU CAN'T PERSEVERE
AND THAT YOU CAN'T GET THERE.
BUT WHAT WE ARE GONNA TALK
ABOUT TODAY IS GROWTH MINDSET.
WE'RE GONNA CHANGE
THAT ATTITUDE OF YOURS.
LET'S WORK TOGETHER
TO CREATE AN ACROSTIC POEM.
FROM THE COMFORT
OF YOUR HOME,
WHAT I NEED YOU TO DO IS
I NEED YOU TO GET SOME ITEMS.
SO, I'M GONNA GIVE YOU
SOME TIME TO DO SO.
YOU'RE GONNA NEED
THREE DIFFERENT THINGS.
NUMBER ONE,
SOMETHING TO WRITE WITH.
NUMBER TWO,
TWO PIECES OF PAPER,
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
YOUR THINKING CAP.
SO, STEP ONE.
GET YOUR FIRST PAPER.
IT MIGHT LOOK SIMILAR
TO THIS.
IT MIGHT BE
A LITTLE BIT SMALLER,
AND THAT'S OKAY.
YOU'RE GONNA WRITE "ATTITUDE."
VERTICALLY.
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E.
ATTITUDE.
ONCE YOU HAVE THAT
WRITTEN DOWN,
SET IT ASIDE
AND WE'LL GET BACK TO IT.
STEP TWO
IS MY FAVOURITE PART.
YOU'RE GONNA
CREATE THAT MIND.
AND WE'RE GONNA
BRAINSTORM
POSITIVE TRAITS
AND CHARACTERISTICS
THAT FOCUS
ON A GOOD OUTLOOK.
SO, YOUR MIND MAP
MIGHT LOOK LIKE THIS.
IT'S JUST A SIMPLE BUBBLE
IN THE MIDDLE
WITH "GOOD OUTLOOK" THERE.
AND WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO
IS I'M GONNA GIVE YOU
SOME TIME,
ABOUT 15 SECONDS
TO A MINUTE,
AND I WANT YOU
TO POPCORN SOME IDEAS OUT
AND I'M GONNA
WRITE THEM OUT.
AND IT'S GOING TO FOCUS
ON A GOOD OUTLOOK.
I'M HEARING
SOME GREAT RESPONSES.
I'M JUST GONNA
JOT THEM DOWN.
SO, A GOOD OUTLOOK
FOCUSES ON...
YOU GOT IT-- POSITIVE.
EVEN ON THOSE RAINY,
STORMY DAYS,
YOU'RE FOCUSING
ON THE POSITIVE.
THE SECOND ONE...
OH, ENJOYS LIFE.
SOMETIMES LIFE
GIVES YOU LEMONS,
BUT IT'S IMPORTANT
TO MAKE LEMONADE OUT OF THEM.
REMEMBER, WE MIGHT WANT
TO GET MORE AND MORE,
BUT IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT
TO FOCUS ON WHAT WE HAVE.
SO, "ENJOY...WHAT YOU HAVE."
I'M HEARING
ANOTHER GREAT ONE.
APPRECIATE
THE LITTLE THINGS.
THAT'S KEY... "THE LITTLE THINGS."
IT MIGHT BE SMALL TO YOU,
BUT AGAIN,
THAT'S OKAY.
WHEN WE FOCUS
ON THE LITTLE THINGS,
WE APPRECIATE EVERYTHING
THAT SURROUNDS US.
AND LAST,
I'M HEARING A GOOD ONE.
DON'T COMPLAIN.
THAT'S GOOD.
I LIKE THAT YOU SAID THAT,
BECAUSE WHEN YOU FOCUS
ON THE POSITIVE,
WE'RE NOT COMPLAINING.
WE'RE LOOKING
AT MAYBE THAT CHALLENGE
AS SOMETHING NEW
THAT WE CAN LEARN TOGETHER.
AND REMEMBER,
YOUR MIND MAP
MIGHT LOOK
A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT.
YOU MIGHT HAVE DIFFERENT IDEAS
AND THAT'S OKAY.
YOU NEED TO FOCUS
ON YOUR GOOD OUTLOOK
AND WHAT CHARACTERISTICS
YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON.
STEP THREE,
WE ARE ALMOST READY.
WE'RE GONNA TAKE
ALL THAT WE LEARNED HERE
AND WE ARE GONNA PLUG IT
INTO OUR ACROSTIC POEM.
SO, HERE WE HAVE OUR
ACROSTIC ATTITUDE POEM.
IT'S BEGINNING WITH A,
IT GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN
TO THE NEXT SLIDE,
AND IT ENDS AT E.
AND WHAT WE DID IS WE PUT
TOGETHER ALL OF THAT INFORMATION
FROM THAT MIND MAP
INTO OUR ACROSTIC POEM.
A- ALWAYS SEES THE GOOD
IN A SITUATION,
WHICH MEANS IF YOU'RE HAVING
MAYBE A NOT-SO-GOOD DAY,
TRY TO FIND THE POSITIVES.
TRY TO FIND THE GOOD
IN THAT SITUATION
AND FOCUS ON THAT.
T- TRIES TO FIND SOLUTIONS
TO PROBLEMS.
WHEN YOU THINK
ABOUT YOUR DAY,
YOU MIGHT HAVE
A VARIETY OF PROBLEMS
THAT YOU MIGHT COME ACROSS.
IT'S IMPORTANT TO FOCUS
ON THE SOLUTIONS
AND NOT DWELL
ON THE PROBLEMS SO MUCH.
T- TAKES TIME TO APPRECIATE
THE LITTLE THINGS.
I- IS HAPPY
WITH WHAT THEY HAVE.
THAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT.
YOU NEED TO RECOGNIZE
AND BE GRATEFUL
FOR ALL THE BLESSINGS
IN YOUR LIFE.
T- THINK ABOUT THE WAYS
TO SPREAD POSITIVELY.
IT'S IMPORTANT
THAT YOU'RE POSITIVE YOURSELF,
BUT HOW CAN YOU SPREAD IT
TO OTHERS?
WHAT CAN YOU DO
FOR YOUR NEIGHBOUR?
U- UNDERSTAND THE NEED
TO LISTEN TO OTHERS' OPINIONS
AND THOUGHTS.
YOU MIGHT THINK
YOU HAVE IT ALL,
THAT YOU KNOW EVERYTHING,
THAT YOU'RE RIGHT.
SOMETIMES IT'S IMPORTANT
TO BE MINDFUL
THAT YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN
AND LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE.
THEY MIGHT THEN
TEACH YOU SOMETHING NEW.
D- DOESN'T COMPLAIN OFTEN.
WHEN YOU ACTUALLY
OPENLY LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE,
YOU REALIZE
THAT YOU'RE LEARNING A LOT
AND YOU WON'T ACTUALLY
COMPLAIN SO MUCH.
AND E...
LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
IN ORDER TO HAVE
THAT POSITIVE ATTITUDE,
YOU NEED
TO ENJOY YOUR LIFE.
NOW, LET'S WATCH
WOLF JOE AND HIS FRIENDS
CONQUER THEIR FEAR TOGETHER.
TAKE IT AWAY!

(kids giggling)

The TVO Kids, Amberwood Entertainment and Media Rendez Vous logos appear.

A show title reads "Wolf Joe." The letter O in "Wolf" has a golden wolf paw inside.

Joe poses with the image of wolf on the background. He wears a white and blue wolf hoodie.

Joe says I'M JOE!
WOLF SPIRIT, GO!

Nina rolls in the air and lands on the floor. She wears a white and yellow sweater with a matching headband.

Nina says I'M NINA!
LYNX SPIRIT, GO!

Buddy poses with the image of a green beard on the background. He wears a white and green bear hoodie.

Buddy says WHOOO- OOPS!
I'M BUDDY THE BEAR.
BEAR SPIRIT, GO!

The friends have funny adventures in the woods.

Kids say SMUDGE!
GO! GO! GO!

Joe says EVERYBODY READY?

They join their hands and say GO, WOLF JOE!

The title of the episode reads "Bearly Prepared."

Joe and Buddy stand next to their backpacks.

Joe says SO, CHECK IT OUT.
I'VE GOT PYJAMAS,
TOOTHBRUSH,
WOLF PACK
ACTION FIGURES,
EVERYTHING I NEED
FOR A CAMPOUT.

He presses a button on a wolf toy.
(howling)

Joe says HMM. BUT NO ROOM
FOR MY BANANA CHIPS.
HAVE YOU GOT ANY ROOM
IN YOUR PACK, BUDDY?

Buddy says I SURE DO, JOE.

(doorbell tinkling)
(suspenseful music playing)
Someone walks in carrying a backpack that covers their face.

Buddy yells and says AHH!
WAH!
WHOA!

Joe says NINA!
DID YOU PACK
LOTS OF ACTION FIGURES TOO?

Nina says NOPE.
JUST SOME REALLY
AWESOME STUFF.
IT'S OUR FIRST CAMPOUT
ON THE MOUNTAIN.
WE CAN'T EXACTLY
RUN HOME
IF WE FORGET
SOMETHING IMPORTANT.
CAN I FIT MY SNACKS
IN YOUR PACK?

Buddy says SURE.
OOF.
(grunting)
THERE.
ALL PACKED.

Mishoom appears. He has long black hair and wears a headband, a blue shirt and suspenders.

Mishoom says NO WORRIES, KIDS.
I'M PACKING ALL
THE MIIJIM WE NEED.

Joe says MIIJIM?
I DIDN'T PACK
ANY OF THAT.

Mishoom chuckles and says MIIJIM IS OUR
ANISHINAABE WORD FOR FOOD.
I'M ALSO BRINGING
A CANTEEN, COMPASS,
FLASHLIGHTS,
COLLAPSIBLE SPADE,
A FLINT ROCK
FOR STARTING FIRES,
AND A WHISTLE.
A FEW TOOTS ON THIS
WILL LET THE BEARS KNOW
WE'RE THERE,
SO WE DON'T SURPRISE THEM.

Joe says DID YOU SAY...

Frightened, Kids say BEARS?

Mishoom chuckles and says NO NEED TO BE AFRAID OF
OUR OLD FRIEND THE BEAR HERE.
DO YOU KNOW,
THE BEAR TEACHES US
TO HAVE THE COURAGE
TO FACE OUR FEARS?
WHEN WE FACE OUR FEARS,
THEY'RE NEVER AS BIG
AS THEY SEEM.

He touches with his elbow an embalmed bear and says RIGHT, GROWLER?
STILL, IT'S BEST
TO BE PREPARED.
I MEAN...

He winks and says "BEAR" PREPARED.

(all giggling)

Mishoom says OH, HERE!

He hands Buddy a book.

He says THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING
WE NEED TO KNOW
TO BE SAFE FROM BEARS.
NOW, LET'S GO CAMPING!

Joe says HERE WE GO!

Buddy says YAY!

Nina says YEAH!
(cheering)

(birds chirping)
In the woods, Mishoom says LISTEN TO
THE BIRDS SING.

Joe imitates a bird call.
(bird squawking)

Joe says HEAR THAT?
A BIRD ANSWERED ME!

Buddy says THE BOOK SAYS BEARS HATE SURPRISES,
SO MAKE LOTS OF NOISE TO WARN
BEARS THAT YOU'RE THERE.

Buddy claps.

Joe says THANK YOU, THANK YOU,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Buddy says WHAT? NO!
I'M NOT CLAPPING FOR YOU.
I'M JUST MAKING NOISE TO WARN
THE BEARS TO STAY AWAY.

Joe says THERE'S A BEAR NOW!

He runs to Nina and says RAWR!

Buddy gasps and says AHH! A BEAR?!
WAHH! OOF.

Joe says UM, I WAS ONLY
FOOLING AROUND, BUDDY.
I DIDN'T MEAN
TO SCARE YOU.

(nervous chuckling)
Buddy says YEAH, ME TOO.
JUST FOOLING AROUND.
IF I SAW A REAL BEAR,
I'D TELL IT TO TAKE
IT'S BIG TEETH
AND SHARP CLAWS
AND GO HOME.

Mishoom says HEY KIDS, REMEMBER.
WE'RE GUESTS
IN THE BEAR'S HOME.
WE MUST RESPECT THE BEAR
AND GIVE HIM PLENTY
OF ROOM TO ROAM.

Joe says WE WILL, MISHOOM.
AND BEARS WON'T BE
A PROBLEM
WHEN WE'VE GOT
BUDDY THE BEAR WITH US.

Nina says YEAH! YOU KNOW EXACTLY
WHAT TO DO!

Buddy says I DO?
I MEAN-- SURE, I DO.
GRRR.
(clearing throat)
GOT SOMETHING STUCK
IN MY THROAT.
WAIT UP, GRANDPA!

Joe says WAIT UP, MISHOOM!
(panting)

Mishoom says HERE WE ARE!
BREATHE IN THAT
GLORIOUS MOUNTAIN AIR.

Joe and Nina say AWESOME!

Buddy says UM, YEAH.
AWESOME.
WHOOP!

(thudding)
Buddy bumps into his friends.

Buddy says SORRY.
I WAS ON...
BEAR ALERT.

Mishoom says RELAX, BUDDY.
YOU LET ME
WORRY ABOUT BEARS.

Buddy says THE BEAR BOOK SAYS WE SHOULD
HANG OUR FOOD UP HIGH
WERE THE BEARS
CAN'T REACH IT.

Mishoom says GOOD IDEA!

Mishoom hangs the backpacks on a tree.

Mishoom says GET THE TENT UP.
I'LL BE RIGHT
DOWN THE HILL
GATHERING FIREWOOD
IF YOU NEED ME.

Joe says YOU BET, MISHOOM.
OKAY TEAM,
IT'S TENT TIME!
WAH!

(clanging)
The kids have problems to set up the tent.
(rope creaking)

Nina says STOP WORRYING,
BUDDY.
THERE'S NO BEARS
AROUND HERE.

Buddy says I GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT.

Mishoom says AH.

(straining)
Mishoom collects branches and steps on a twig.
(twig cracking)

Mishoom says UGH.

Buddy screams BEAR!

Mishoom says BEAR?
WHERE?

Buddy says SORRY. FALSE ALARM.

Mishoom chuckles and says OKAY THEN.
I'LL BE
DOWN THE HILL.

Joe says COME ON,
BUDDY THE BEAR.

Nina says LET'S PITCH THIS TENT!

They finally set the tents.

Nina says NICE WORK.
NOW IT'S TIME TO UNPACK.

Joe says WOLF PACK
REPORTING FOR DUTY!

Joe makes his wolf toy howls.

Buddy says WAHH!
DON'T DO THAT!

Joe says SORRY.

Buddy says AH, MAN!
HOW DID ALL OUR SNACKS
GET CRUSHED?
I PUT THEM IN MY PACK,
AND SAT ON IT TO CLOSE IT.
OH- RIGHT.

Joe says NINA, I CAN'T WAIT
TO SEE WHAT YOU PACKED.

Nina says BE PREPARED
TO BE AMAZED!
I BROUGHT MY PORTABLE KEYBOARD
FOR OUR CAMPFIRE SONGS...

The boys say HEY!

Nina says SOME OF MY
FAVOURITE BOOKS...

Buddy says LOOKS LIKE YOU BROUGHT
A WHOLE LIBRARY.

Nina says AND MY HANDY-DANDY
PANCAKE FLIPPER,
'CAUSE I KNOW
YOU TWO LOVE
TO MAKE PANCAKES
FOR BREAKFAST.

Joe says YAY!
CAMPING IS
A LOT OF WORK,
BUT IT'S AWESOME WORK!

(all sighing)

Buddy says NOW COMES
THE REALLY FUN STUFF,
LIKE COOKING OVER
A CAMPFIRE.

Nina says AND LOOKING UP AT
ALL THE STARS IN THE SKY!
(scratching noise)
JOE, STOP SCRATCHING!

Joe says I'M NOT SCRATCHING.
BUDDY IS SCRATCHING!

Buddy says I'M NOT SCRATCHING
EITHER!

Nina says WELL, SOMEONE'S
SCRATCHING.

Joe says SO,
WHO'S SCRATCHING?

Buddy says OR "WHAT."
IS SCRATCHING?
(frightened noises)
(gasping)

They say BEAR!

Nina says IS IT A BEAR?
WHAT DOES YOUR
BOOK SAY, BUDDY?

Buddy says UM...

Joe says DON'T WORRY.
IF IT'S A BEAR,
THEN BUDDY THE BEAR
WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO.
RIGHT, BUDDY?

Buddy says ACTUALLY,
THE TRUTH IS,
I'M MORE SCARED OF BEARS
THAN YOU ARE.

Nina says REALLY?
WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?

Buddy says BECAUSE I SHOULDN'T BE.
I MEAN, MY SPIRIT ANIMAL
IS THE BEAR, RIGHT?

Nina says SO, THAT MEANS
WERE ALL SCARED.

Joe says HEY!
MAYBE WE CAN BE BRAVE
FOR EACH OTHER.
WHO'S WITH ME?

Nina says WE ARE!
LET'S FACE OUR FEAR...

They join their hands and say TOGETHER!

(dramatic music playing)

Buddy says HERE IT COMES!

Nina says IT'S NOT A BEAR.
IT'S A SQUIRREL!

Joe says THE LANTERN LIGHT MADE
ITS SHADOW LOOK SO HUGE!

(all laughing)

Joe says HMM.
NOTHING
TO BE SCARED OF.

The squirrel runs away.

Nina says YEP.
NO BEARS
AROUND HERE.

Buddy says JUST A BANANA CHIP
STEALING SQUIRREL.
(low growling nearby)
(panting)
WHAT WAS THAT?

Joe says I DON'T KNOW, BUT IT'S WAY
BIGGER THAN A SQUIRREL!

Buddy says IT KINDS GROWLS
LIKE A...

They scream BEAR!

Mishoom drops the logs and says WAHH!
UH-OH.

Joe says MISHOOM!
COME ON, GUYS.
WE NEED...
SPIRIT POWER!

Their clothes and eyes sparkle as they get ready to help.

Joe says HOOD UP.
I'M JOE.
WOLF SPIRIT...
LET'S GO!

Nina says LYNX EARS!
NINA LEAP.
LYNX SPIRIT, SO NEAT!

Buddy says BUDDY'S HERE.
I'M BRAVE.
BEAR SPIRIT...
READY TO SAVE!
SPIRIT POWER!

Joe says WE'VE GOT YOU, MISHOOM.

Mishoom says YOU'VE GOT ME,
BUT WHO'S GOT
THOSE LOGS?

Nina says RUNAWAY LOGS!

Buddy says THEY'RE GONNA ROLL
RIGHT OVER THAT SQUIRREL!

Joe says WOLF JUMP!

Nina says LYNX LEAP!
WE'LL CATCH THOSE LOGS.

The logs bump into a rock and keep rolling down.

Joe says OR NOT!

Buddy says WHOA, BUDDY THE BEAR,
COMING THROUGH!
BEAR STRENGTH!
WHAH...

Buddy jumps and sticks a shovel on the ground piling the logs.

Buddy says OOF.
DON'T BE AFRAID,
LITTLE SQUIRREL.
YOU'VE BEEN SAVED
BY A BEAR!

Joe says WOW, WAY TO GO,
BUDDY!

Mishoom claps and says THERE'S NOTHING WRONG
WITH BEING A LITTLE AFRAID.

A bright wheel spins. A bear icon pops up.

He says THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE
EARNED THE TEACHING
THAT THE BEAR BRINGS US
IN THE SEVEN TEACHINGS WHEEL,
FOR HAVING THE COURAGE
TO ADMIT YOUR FEAR
AND FACE IT HEAD ON.

Later, Nina says I DON'T FEEL
SCARED ANYMORE,
NOW THAT WE ARE ALL TOGETHER
AROUND THE CAMPFIRE.

Mishoom snores.

Nina says WHAT WAS THAT?

Joe says RELAX.
THERE'S NOTHING
TO BE AFRAID OF
WHEN YOUR BEST BUDDY'S
A BEAR. RIGHT?

Buddy stands behind Mishoom and says RAWR!

Buddy wakes him up. They all laugh.

(music plays)

The end credits roll.

Jessica says AT FIRST, YOU COULD SEE
THAT BUDDY WAS ANXIOUS, NERVOUS,
AND A LITTLE BIT UNEASY
ABOUT HIS CAMPING TRIP.
BUT WITH THE HELP
OF HIS FRIENDS,
HE WAS ABLE TO UPLIFT HIMSELF
AND WORK TOGETHER TO FEEL
MUCH BETTER ABOUT THE SITUATION.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU
FEEL ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS?
DO YOU JUST IGNORE
THAT FEELING?
DO YOU PUSH IT AWAY?
OR DO YOU STOP AND YOU
ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT YOU'RE DOING?
HOW DO YOU MANAGE
THOSE BIG FEELINGS?
MAYBE YOU CREATE
A MIND MAP.
MAYBE YOU TRY
TO IGNORE IT.
OH, I'M HEARING
A LOT OF GREAT ANSWERS,
AND IT'S DEFINITELY
GOING TO HELP YOU
FIGURE OUT YOUR EMOTIONS
AND SOLVE THOSE PROBLEMS.
I'M HEARING- MUSIC.
YES, DEFINITELY.
LISTENING TO
THAT CALMING MUSIC
WILL DEFINITELY HELP YOU
WITH THOSE BEING FEELINGS.
SOMETIMES I WATCH
A CALMING VIDEO.
THAT'S GREAT.
WHAT ABOUT
GOING OUT LIKE BUDDY,
AND GOING OUT
TO THE OUTDOORS?
THAT WOULD
DEFINITELY HELP.
THIS IS
THE BEST IDEA YET.
I'M HEARING THAT YOU GUYS WANT
TO CREATE A MINDFULNESS ROOM.
AWESOME!
LET'S CREATE
A MINDFULNESS ROOM TOGETHER
TO HAVE
ALL THESE STRATEGIES
IN ORDER TO ADDRESS
THOSE BIG FEELINGS.

Now, Jessica stands next to an instruction list.

She says I'M GONNA SHOW YOU ONE OF MY
FAVOURITE WAYS TO CALM DOWN.
AND IT'S IN MY
MINDFULNESS ROOM AT HOME.
HERE IS MY GLITTER BOTTLE.
THIS GLITTER BOTTLE ACTUALLY
COMES WITH ME EVERYWHERE I GO.
WHENEVER I'M FEELING
THOSE BIG, HEAVY FEELINGS,
I TAKE OUT
MY GLITTER BOTTLE,
I PUT ON SOME MUSIC,
AND IT REALLY HELPS ME
CALM DOWN.
I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS
A GLITTER BOTTLE IN THEIR LIFE.
SO, WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO IS
WE'RE GONNA CREATE ONE TOGETHER
RIGHT FROM THE COMFORT
OF YOUR OWN HOME.
YOU JUST NEED TO GRAB
SOME HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
AND I'M GONNA GIVE YOU
A MINUTE TO DO SO.
NOW THAT WE'RE BACK,
ALL YOU NEED
IS A WATER BOTTLE,
YOU NEED GLUE,
SOME GLITTER,
FOOD COLOURING,
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
A GLUE GUN.
MAKE SURE THE GLUE GUN
IS PROPPED UP,
JUST BECAUSE YOU KNOW
THAT IT IS HOT
AND WE DON'T WANT IT
TO MAKE ANYONE GET BURNED
OR ANY SAFETY ISSUES
TO HAPPEN.
SO, WE'RE GONNA KEEP THAT
TO THE SIDE.
WE'RE GONNA USE THE HOT GLUE GUN
AT THE LAST STEP.
SO, NOW THAT WE'VE GOT
OUR PLAIN OLD WATER BOTTLE
THAT HOPEFULLY YOU FOUND
IN THE RECYCLING BIN,
WE'RE GOING TO FILL
THE WATER BOTTLE UP
THREE FOURTHS
WITH WARM WATER.
AND OVER HERE
I HAVE SOME WATER.
BE CAREFUL AND MAKE SURE
YOU'RE NOT SPILLING.
ONCE THAT'S DONE,
WHAT YOU'RE GONNA DO
IS YOU'RE GONNA OPEN THAT GLUE
AND YOU'RE GONNA POUR IN
SOME OF THAT GLUE JUST A BIT
TO MAKE SURE
THAT THE GLUE IS THERE
AND IT'S FILLING UP
ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP,
BUT YOU DON'T WANT IT
TO GO OVER THE TOP.
ONCE THAT'S DONE,
YOU'RE GONNA ADD
SOME FOOD COLOURING.
SO AGAIN,
WHEN YOU ADD FOOD COLOURING,
YOU CAN ADD
AS MUCH AS YOU WANT.
SO, OVER HERE,
I'M ADDING A LOT
TO THIS ONE.
NOW, NOW THAT
WE'RE ON STEP THREE,
WE NEED TO ADD
SOME GLITTER.
I'VE PICKED
SILVER GLITTER.
SO YOU'RE GONNA DAB
THAT GLITTER IN THERE,
GET IT IN THERE,
SO MAKING SURE THAT YOU HAVE
A TON OF GLITTER IN PLACE.
I'M NOT SURE IF YOU CAN SEE IT
BECAUSE THE BLUE IS QUITE DARK,
BUT THERE IS
A TON OF GLITTER IN HERE.
NEXT STEP,
YOU'RE GONNA PUT THE CAP ON
AND GO OVER THE OUTSIDE
OF THE CAP WITH THE GLUE GUN.
SO AGAIN,
DON'T THROW OUT THIS CAP.
YOU'RE GONNA NEED IT AGAIN.
YOU'RE GONNA TIGHTEN THAT
AS TIGHT AS CAN BE.
YOU'RE GONNA TAKE
THAT HOT GLUE GUN...
DON'T TOUCH THE TOP.
BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL.

AND YOU'RE GOING TO GO
AROUND THE GLUE.
WITH THE GLUE GUN YOU'RE GONNA
GO AROUND THE TOP OF THE CAP.
AND SO AGAIN,
DON'T TOUCH IT
BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE
VERY, VERY HOT.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO SET IT ASIDE
FOR A LITTLE BIT,
JUST TO MAKE SURE.
ONCE YOU'RE DONE,
AND IT'S DRY,
YOU'RE GONNA SHAKE IT
AND IT'S...
WHEN YOU LOOK VERY CLOSELY YOU
MIGHT SEE SOME OF THAT GLITTER.
AND IF YOU DON'T,
DON'T WORRY.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
IS YOU CAN THEN TAKE IT OFF.
IT MIGHT TAKE
A LITTLE BIT OF A WHILE.
YOU MIGHT NEED
TO PEEL IT OFF
AND ADD SOME MORE GLITTER
THERE FOR YOU.
THIS GLITTER,
THE ONE THAT I INITIALLY MADE,
AND THAT I HAVE AROUND WITH ME
WHEREVER I GO,
IS A SMALLER
GLITTER BOTTLE.
AND AS YOU CAN SEE
IF YOU LOOK VERY CLOSELY,
I'VE ACTUALLY
TAKEN IT OFF MANY TIMES
SO THAT I COULD ADD
MORE GLITTER.
BECAUSE REMEMBER,
WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT,
AND WITH THE GLUE,
IT WILL REALLY HELP
CALM YOU DOWN.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
SHAKE AND ENJOY.
SOMETIMES EVEN USE IT
AS A FIDGET TOY.
WHENEVER I'M FEELING DOWN
OR JUST NEED SOME TIME
TO CALM MYSELF,
I REALLY TRY TO HAVE
A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
AND SHAKE
THAT GLITTER BOTTLE.
SOMETIMES IT IS DIFFICULT,
BUT LET'S WATCH AN EPISODE
OF
RAVEN'S QUEST
AND MEET JAVIER.
HE'S GONNA USE
RUNNING AND DRAWING
AS A WAY
TO CALM HIMSELF DOWN
AND AS A WAY
FOR HIM TO BE MINDFUL.

Javier is 9, with short straight brown hair and wears a coral sweater.

The narrator says THIS IS JAVIER.
HE'S A CHAMPION RUNNER.

Javier says WHEN I RUN I FEEL STRONG.

The narrator says GRANDMA TAUGHT HIM HOW
TO BEAD.

Javier says SHE HELPED ME MAKE
THIS MEDICINE POUCH.

The narrator says AND HIS BACKYARD
CREEK IS FULL OF FISH.

Javier says IT'S A SALMON.

A Male Narrator says READY TO MEET JAVIER?

Javier and his friends say OH YEAH!

The narrator says LET'S GO!

(music plays)

In animation, pictures of several different kids appear hanging on laundry lines. A raven on the lines flies off to the sun and opens his wings as the title of the show appears. It reads "Raven's Quest."

Javier says AANIIN, HELLO.
I'M JAVIER.
I'M 9 YEARS OLD AND I'M OJIBWE
AND I LIVE ON MANITOULIN ISLAND
IN ONTARIO.

A map shows the Canadian provinces. It zooms in on Manitoulin Island, Ontario.

Javier says AND THIS IS MY FAMILY.
THIS IS MY LITTLE SISTER TOMASA.

Tomasa is around 8, with long slightly wavy red hair and wears a purple printed blouse and a coral cardigan sweater.

Javier says THIS IS MY MOM MELISSA.

Melissa is in her thirties, with long straight brown hair in a bun and wears a white T-shirt and a beige vest.

Javier says MY OLDER SISTER AALIYAH.

Aaliyah is in her early teens, with long straight brown hair and wears a purple T-shirt.

Javier says MY DAD VENANZIO.

Venanzio is in his late thirties, with very short receding brown hair and wears a black hooded jacket.

Venanzio says HOLA.
BUENOS DIAS.

Javier says MY DAD IS FROM MEXICO.
I ACTUALLY LIVED IN
MEXICO FOR A WHOLE YEAR.
MY GRANDMA TEACHES ME SKILLS.
SHE HELPED ME MAKE
THIS MEDICINE POUCH.
TODAY WE'RE GONNA CREATE
ANOTHER MEDICINE POUCH.

Grandma is in her late forties, with long straight brown hair in a ponytail and wears glasses and a black and white printed dress.

She says START SEWING AROUND.

Javier says SHE TEACHES ME A LESSON, IF I DO
A MISTAKE SHE HELPS ME MAKE IT
BETTER.

Grandma says KEEP IT ON THIS SIDE.
THERE YOU GO, LIKE THAT.

Javier says YEAH.
YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH
THE NEEDLE SO YOU DON'T POKE
YOURSELF.
I LIKE TO BEAD WITH MY
GRANDMA BECAUSE IT'S FUN.

Grandma says OKAY SO WE'RE GONNA
START WITH THE RED.
MEASURE THE THREE AND THEN
YOU'RE GONNA KNOW WHERE YOUR
NEEDLES GONNA GO.

Javier says THE MEDICINE WHEEL COLOURS ARE
BLACK, RED, YELLOW AND WHITE.

Grandma says SO WHAT SIDE DOES YELLOW
GO ON THE MEDICINE WHEEL?
DO YOU REMEMBER?

Javier says RIGHT BEFORE THIS?

Grandma says YES ON THIS SIDE.

Javier says IT WAS PRETTY EASY
TO LEARN HOW TO BEAD.
ONCE I'M DONE AND
YOU SEW IT ONTO HERE.
IT'S GONNA LOOK LIKE THIS.

Mom gives Javier a popsicle.

Javier says YEAH.
THANKS MOM.
WE HAVE A FAMILY BUSINESS
RENTING THESE LOG CABINS TO
GUESTS AND WE ALL
HAVE A JOB TO DO.

He vacuums and says THIS IS HOW I HELP OUT.
THIS IS WHERE WE KEEP
TRACK OF OUR CHORES.
YOU DO A CHORE AND THEN
YOU GET TO ADD A CHECK MARK.
SO THERE'S THREE COLUMNS.
THIS IS MY BIG
SISTER'S AALIYAH'S.
THIS IS MINE.
AND THAT'S MY
LITTLE SISTER TOMASA.
ALL I NEED IS 12 MORE
CHECK MARKS TO FINISH.
WHEN WE FILL THE BOARD WE
GET TO GO ON A FAMILY TRIP.

He takes the trash out and adds a check mark to the board.

He says WELCOME TO MY ROOM.
I REALLY LIKE DINOSAURS.
THIS IS A SPINOSAURUS REX.
A T-REX AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT
THIS ONE IS BUT IT'S A PIGGY
BANK-A-SAURUS.
AND THESE ARE SOME OF MY RIBBONS
FOR TRACK AND FIELD.
THIS ONE I WON IN 5TH PLACE.
4TH PLACE AND 2ND PLACE.
I'M REALLY INTO COLLECTING COINS
AND I'VE BEEN DOING IT OVER 3
YEARS.
MY BIGGEST ONE, IT'S REALLY
HEAVY AND IT'S REALLY SOLID TOO.
THESE ARE ACTUALLY THE FIRST
COINS I EVER GOT AND THEY'RE
COLOURED DINOSAURS.
I GOT THESE COINS FOR SPECIAL
OCCASIONS ON MY BIRTHDAY AND
CHRISTMAS.
THIS IS MY BUSTLE AND IT'S PART
OF MY REGALIA AND IT'S MADE OUT
OF HAWK FEATHERS AND AT
THE TOP ARE EAGLE FEATHERS.
THESE ARE TWO MINI TIPIS THAT
ARE ARE MADE FROM BIRCH BARK.
I MADE THEM WITH GRANDMA.
THIS IS HOW YOU
SAY DRAW IN OJIBWE.
ZHIBIIGE.
THAT'S OUR WORD FOR DRAW.
ZHIBIIGE.
I DRAW DINOSAURS.
MOST OF MY DRAWINGS
ARE IN BLACK AND WHITE.
I WANT IT TO BE PERFECT BUT IT'S
HARD TO PICK THE RIGHT COLOURS.
I LIKE DINOSAURS
BECAUSE THEY'RE COOL.
I'M PRETTY GOOD AT
DRAWING DINOSAURS.

In the woods, Javier says THESE ARE THE GUYS WE
DO CROSS COUNTRY WITH.
LIAM.

Liam is around 9 and wears winter wear.

He says HEY.

Javier says AND SHELDON.

Sheldon is around 10 and wears winter wear.

Sheldon says HEY.

Javier says COME ON GUYS.
THE TRAIL IS RIGHT
NEXT TO MY HOUSE.
I LIKE LIAM BECAUSE
HE'S REALLY NICE.
SHELDON IS MY COUSIN
AND HE'S NICE TOO.
SHELDON IS PRETTY GOOFY.
I TRAIN EVERYDAY
FOR CROSS COUNTRY.
WHEN I RUN I FEEL STRONG.
THE LONGEST RACE I EVER
RAN WAS 4 KILOMETRES.
HEY.
YOU GUYS WANNA GO
FIND SOME CRITTERS?

They say OH YEAH.

Sheldon says HEY GUYS, LOOK LOOK.
THE WORM, THE WORM, A WORM.
GET IT JAVIER.

Javier says WE GOT A SMALL TINY WORM.
AND A CENTIPEDE.
HEY, LOOK AT THAT.
WHOA.
IT'S A SALAMANDER.
WHOA.
DID YOU KNOW THAT THESE GUYS

Liam says THIS GUY LOOKS COOL.
THAT'S REAL COOL.

Sheldon says WE COULD CALL THIS LIKE
SALLY THE SALAMANDER.

Javier says GUYS, WE GOTTA
KEEP ON RUNNING.
THIS IS MANITOWANING BAY.
WE LIKE TO DO A LOT OF FISHING
HERE AND WE EVEN DO ICE FISHING
HERE IN THE WINTER.
BUT I HAVE ANOTHER GOOD FISHING
SPOT CLOSE BY.
THIS CREEK HAS
SALMON AND TROUT IN IT.
WE'RE IN A POOL AND THAT'S A
PERFECT PLACE TO CATCH FISH
HERE.

The boys go fishing in the spot with fishing nets.

Javier says RIGHT NOW WE ARE HUNTING
FOR THE FISH UNDER THIS LOG.
THERE'S A FISH.
COME ON AALIYAH.
GO TO THE OTHER SIDE.
YOU SEE HIM?
OH, OVER THERE.
OVER THERE.
LET'S GO LITTLE GUY.
LET'S GO.
OH, COME ON.
I CAUGHT IT.
GOT A FISH.
IT'S A SALMON.
AND IT IS AN OLD FISH BECAUSE
IT'S SCALES ARE FALLING OFF.
BECAUSE IT'S AN OLD FISH
WE'RE GONNA LET IT GO.
BYE BYE FISH.
THE BIGGEST FISH I EVER CAUGHT
WAS LAST YEAR AND IT WAS A
RAINBOW TROUT.
IT WEIGHED 4 POUNDS.
BAMAAPII.
SEE YOU LATER EVERYONE.
THANKS FOR VISITING.

Music plays as the end credits roll.

Jessica says WOW, BEADWORK
IS A FINE MOTOR ACTIVITY
THAT CAN DEFINITELY
CALM YOU DOWN.
AND IT'S
A GREAT STRATEGY TO USE
WHEN YOU'RE PRACTISING
MINDFULNESS.
I LOVED LEARNING ABOUT
JAVIER'S SPECIAL FISHING SPOT
NEAR HIS HOUSE.
WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO NOW
IS I WANT YOU TO FIND
A SPECIAL SAFE SPOT
IN YOUR HOUSE.
IT COULD BE A LIVING ROOM.
IT COULD BE YOUR KITCHEN.
IT COULD EVEN BE
YOUR BEDROOM.
JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU FEEL
SAFE AND YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE
IN THAT SPOT.
WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO
IS I WANT YOU TO GRAB THAT
MUSIC PLAYLIST OF CALMING SONGS,
MAYBE THOSE VIDEOS
THAT YOU LIKE,
GET THAT GLITTER BOTTLE THAT
WE CREATED,
AND DON'T FORGET
THAT POSITIVE ACROSTIC POEM
THAT HAS A LIST
OF ALL THE DIFFERENT WAYS
THAT YOU CAN CHANGE
THAT ATTITUDE.
NOW, WHEN YOU'RE IN
YOUR MINDFULNESS ROOM
AND YOU HAVE ALL THE STRATEGIES
AND THE TOOLS BESIDE YOU,
WHAT I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER
A POSITIVE MINDSET,
AND A POSITIVE ATTITUDE CREATES
POSITIVE RESULTS.
AND YOU HAVE
THE TOOLS TO SUCCEED.
BUT ONE LAST STRATEGY
JUST FOR YOU.
WHAT ARE
POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS?
A POSITIVE AFFIRMATION IS
A PRACTICE OF SELF-THINKING
AND SELF-EMPOWERMENT.
IT'S A WAY THAT YOU CAN
KIND OF TALK YOURSELF.
AND WHAT BETTER WAY
TO TALK YOURSELF
THAN BY LOOKING
IN A MIRROR?
SO, WHAT I WANT TO DO
IS GRAB A MIRROR.
IT COULD BE THE ONE
EVEN IN YOUR WASHROOM
OR A LITTLE MIRROR
IN YOUR BEDROOM.
PRETEND THERE'S A MIRROR
RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.
ONE EFFECTIVE WAY
IS WITH THAT MIRROR,
I WANT YOU TO LOOK IN IT
AND I WANT YOU TO SAY OUT LOUD
YOUR FAVOURITE AFFIRMATIONS
THAT RESONATE WITH YOU.
FOR EXAMPLE,
"I AM BEAUTIFUL."
"I AM SPECIAL."
"I AM LOVED."
AND WHEN YOU SAY THAT,
I WANT YOU TO REALLY
THINK IT AND BELIEVE IT,
BECAUSE WHEN YOU SAY THAT
TO YOURSELF,
YOUR MIND IS SAYING,
"YES, I CAN DO IT."
ANOTHER WAY THAT YOU CAN DO THIS
IS BY WRITING IT DOWN.
AND IN THE MORNING,
YOU SHARE THOSE POSITIVE
AFFIRMATIONS WITH YOURSELF
AND THEN IN THE EVENING
YOU DO THAT AS WELL.
THIS WILL HELP YOU
GET A BETTER SLEEP AT NIGHT
AND ALSO START YOUR DAY OFF
ON A POSITIVE NOTE.
LET'S WATCH OUR LAST EPISODE
FROM
RAVEN'S QUEST.
WE ARE GOING TO MEET
HOPE AND HER FRIENDS.
THEY'RE GONNA TEACH US
SOME TIPS AND TRICKS.

HERE'S MY DESK I REALLY
LIKE TO BE ORGANIZED.
ON THIS CALENDAR I LIKE TO WRITE
ALL THE IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE MY
MOM'S BIRTHDAY.
HERE'S MY DAILY TO DO LIST.
WAKE UP.
EAT BREAKFAST.
GO RUNNING.
AND THESE ARE MY
HOOPS FOR HOOP DANCING.
I DO MY HOOP
DANCING AT POW WOWS.
I LIKE HOOP DANCING
BECAUSE IT'S FUN.
WELCOME TO MY LEMONADE STAND.
OVER THE SUMMER I MADE
ABOUT THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
ONCE I GOT A TEN DOLLAR TIP.
WITH MY SAVINGS I WENT TO
NIAGARA FALLS WITH MY FAMILY.

Hope runs outside the house with her friends.

Hope says THESE ARE MY FRIENDS
HAILEY AND KENZIE.

Hailey is around 11, with long straight brown hair in pigtail braids and wears jeans and a blue plaid shirt.

Hope says I'VE KNOWN THEM
SINCE KINDERGARTEN.
WE HANG OUT AT SCHOOL AND
HAVE LOTS OF FUN OUTSIDE TOO.
KENZIE IS FUNNY.
SHE MAKES ME LAUGH.
WE LIKE TO DO CARTWHEELS.

Hope films Hailey doing a cartwheel and says SAY HI.

Hailey says HI.
THE TURKEYS ARE
ALWAYS FOLLOWING US.
TURKEYS ARE BIG AND NOISY.
I THINK THE TURKEYS
WANT TO PLAY TOO.
(turkeys gobble)

In the kitchen, Hope says GUYS LET'S MAKE SOMETHING.
I LIKE TO DO ARTS AND CRAFTS.
A LOT OF STUFF I GET
AT THE DOLLAR STORE.
OKAY.
I KNOW WHAT I'M
GONNA DO WITH THIS.
WHAT ARE YOU MAKING?

Hailey says I'M COVERING UP THIS ART
SET WITH PURPLE PAPER.

Kenzie says I'M MAKING LIKE A DREAM CATCHER
AND IT'S GONNA BE HANGING LITTLE
TINY PIECES.

Hope says I LIKE THE STRING
HOW IT'S ALL CRAZY.
WHEN I DO ARTS AND
CRAFTS I LIKE TO MAKE DECOR.
I LIKE PICTURES.
SOMETHING TO HANG ON MY WALL.
MY FAVOURITE COLOURS TO
USE IS BLUE, GOLD AND PINK.
HERE'S OUR WORK.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
THEY TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD.
AT HARVEST TIME WE TAKE THE CORN
AND BRAID THE HUSKS TOGETHER.
MY DAD SHOWS US HOW
TO BRAID THE CORN.

Dad says ANOTHER ONE.

Hope says YES.

Dad says DONE WITH
THIS ONE.

Hope says THIS HOW WE PAY RESPECT TO
THE THREE SISTERS OF THE GARDEN.
BY BRAIDING THE CORN HUSKS.

ALWAYS FUN AT HARVEST TIME HERE
IN WIKWEMIKONG.
BAAMAAPII.
SEE YOU LATER.
THANKS FOR SPENDING A
DAY IN WIKI WITH ME.

Music plays as the end credits roll.

Jessica says WOW,
THAT WAS SO INSPIRING.
NOT ONLY DID HOPE TO
TEACH US
ABOUT A VARIETY
OF DIFFERENT CRAFTS,
BUT THAT WE CAN ACTUALLY CREATE
THESE CRAFTS IN OUR HOUSE
AND PUT THEM UP
IN OUR MINDFULNESS ROOM.

She turns and points to different posters with positive messages hanging on a wall.

She says JUST LOOK OVER HERE.
I HAVE ALL THESE CODES
LISTED.
THEY JUST DIDN'T APPEAR
JUST FOR FUN.
THESE ARE THE SAME CODES
IN MY MIND CLASSROOM.
AND LOOK OVER HERE.
IT SAYS,
"DREAM BIG, DO YOUR BEST."
THAT IS REALLY,
REALLY IMPORTANT.
THANK YOU, EVERYONE,
FOR JOINING ME, TEACHER JESSICA,
ON AN EPISODE
OF
POWER HOUR OF LEARNING.
I LOVED HAVING YOU HERE,
AND SEE YOU SOON.
TAKE CARE!

A slate reads "Bonus Material."

A close-up shot shows a person making a Zeppelin craft.
In animation, the Zeppelin flies on a sunny day. A young man and kids wave from inside. The Zeppelin draws a heart. The name of the show reads "Super Mighty Makers."

The theme song plays HEY!
ALL RIGHT
SUPER MIGHTY MAKERS
WOO
SAVING THE WORLD
ONE CRAFT AT A TIME
SUPER MIGHTY MAKERS!

(music plays)

Maria is around 9 years old. She has curly brown hair and wears an orange and pink suit. She glues shiny beads to sunglasses.

(alarm blaring)
Bondini runs in. He wears a purple shield with yellow shoulder pads and goggles on his forehead.

Bondini says MAKER MISSION!
WE HAVE ANOTHER
MAKER MISSION!
OH, WHY HELLO, THERE,
SUPER MIGHTY MAKER MARIA.
(gasping)
NEW GLASSES?

Maria says SURE ARE, BONDINI.
I ADDED
SOME BLING TO THEM.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Bondini says OOH, COOL!
He tries them and says HMM.
OH, I THINK I COULD USE THESE
IN THE COCKPIT ON SUNNY DAYS.
BUT NO TIME FOR THAT.
WE HAVE A MAKER MISSION
TO PREPARE FOR!

Bondini clicks and the image of a boy appears on a screen.

Bondini says THIS IS HOLDEN,
A THOUGHTFUL YOUNG MAN
WHO APPRECIATES ALL
HIS MOM DOES FOR HIM.
THIS IS HIS MOM KATE.
SHE SPENDS A LOT
OF TIME INDOORS
WITH HOLDEN
AND HIS BROTHERS.
THEY KEEP HER BUSY
AND IT CAN BE A BIT NOISY,
ESPECIALLY WITH
HIS ROCK BAND.
WAAAOW!

Maria says YEAH!

Bondini says KATE LOVES THE OUTDOORS,
RIDING HER BIKE,
AND TAKING IN
THE SUNSHINE,
ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE CAN
DO IT WITH HER KIDS.
BUT SHE CAN'T ALWAYS
GO OUTSIDE.
SO,
HOLDEN WANTS
TO MAKE A CRAFT
THAT CAN HELP BRING
THE OUTDOORS IN
AND PUT A SMILE
ON HER FACE.
AND I KNOW
HOW SHE FEELS.
ALL I EVER SEE
FROM THE COCKPIT
IS SUN AND CLOUDS
AND BIRDS FLYING BY.
IT'D BE NICE TO SEE
SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Maria says THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA.
WHAT IF WE
CRAFTED SOMETHING
THAT COULD SPARKLE
IN THE SUN
AND REMIND HOLDEN'S MOM
OF THE OUTDOORS?

Bondini says LIKE A SUNCATCHER!

Maria says BUT FULL OF
HER FAVOURITE THINGS.

Bondini says YEAH.

Maria says I'LL LOOK AROUND FOR
MORE THINGS FOR THIS CRAFT.
CAN YOU ASK HOLDEN TO BRING
SOME PLASTIC FOLDER COVERS?

Bondini says I'VE GOT YOU COVERED!

A fast-motion clip shows Maria gathering elements to do the craft.

At the cockpit, Bondini says YOU FIND THAT,
AND WE'LL HAVE YOU UP HERE
FASTER THAN YOU CAN SAY
"MACRAMÉ."
BYE!
(sighing)
IT'S CRAFTING TIME!

Bondini runs to the care craft.

Maria says WE'RE READY
TO GET STARTED.

Bondini says LET'S SPARKLE HOLDEN UP.

(magical tinkling)
Bondini pushes a lever and Holden appears. He is around 10, with blond hair. He wears a pink T-shirt under a gray shirt.

Maria says HI, HOLDEN.
WELCOME ABOARD!

Holden says HI, MARIA. HI, BONDINI.

Bondini says WELCOME TO
THE CARE CRAFT.
OH, AND YOU BROUGHT
THE PLASTIC FOLDERS
WE ASKED FOR.
THANKS.

Maria says ARE YOU READY
TO BRIGHTEN YOUR MOM'S DAY
WITH AN EXTRA SPECIAL
CRAFT?

Holden says I SURE AM.

Bondini and Maria say COME ON!

Maria says OKAY, HOLDEN.
I PRESENT TO YOU...
THE SUNSHINE SPARKLER!

The project appears as a cartoon.

Bondini says I FEEL HAPPY JUST
LOOKING AT IT ALREADY.

Maria says THIS SUNCATCHER CAN HANG
IN FRONT OF ANY WINDOW
AND IT'LL PUT A SMILE
ON YOUR MOM'S FACE.
HOW DOES THAT SOUND?

Holden says AMAZING.

Maria says THEN LET'S GET CRAFTING!
TO MAKE OUR SUNSHINE
SPARKLER, WE'LL NEED...
A PIECE OF CRAFT PAPER,
SOME CLEAR SHELF PAPER,
SOME RIBBON,
AND AN EMBROIDERY RING.
WE'LL ALSO NEED SOME THINGS
THAT ARE TRANSLUCENT,
WHICH IS A FANCY WORD
FOR SEE-THROUGH.
LIKE COLOURED
TISSUE SHAPES,
PRESSED FLOWERS,
AND THE PLASTIC FROM THE
FOLDERS HOLDEN BROUGHT.
READY TO GET STARTED,
HOLDEN?

Holden says I SURE AM.

Maria says AWESOME!
FIRST YOU'RE GONNA GRAB
YOUR EMBROIDERY RING
AND A PIECE OF PAPER.

Bondini says OKAY.

Maria says THERE YOU GO,
HOLDEN.

Holden says THANK YOU.

Maria says THEN YOU'RE GONNA TAKE
YOUR MARKER...

Bondini says THERE YOU GO.

Maria says AND TRACE THE INSIDE
OF THE EMBROIDERY RING.
THEN WE'RE GONNA TAKE
SOME SHELF PAPER.
OKAY.
HERE, YOU CAN JUST TAKE
THAT AND PEEL IT OFF.
THANKS, BONDINI.

They all work as a team.

Maria says MAKE SURE YOU FACE
THE STICKY SIDE UP,
JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
A CLEAN WORKSPACE
AND YOU DON'T GET ANY JUNK
ON YOUR STICKY SIDE.

Bondini says AND HOLDEN,
YOU AND I
CAN NOW DO
YOUR SIDE.
CAREFUL, CAREFUL.
CAREFUL.
THERE WE GO.
HOLD IT UP.
THERE WE ARE.

Maria says NOW WE CAN PUT THINGS
INSIDE OUR SPARKLERS!
HOLDEN, YOU SAID
YOUR MOM LIKES BIKING.
SO WHY DON'T YOU PUT
A BIKE IN YOURS?

Holden says THAT SOUNDS GREAT!

Maria says BONDINI,
CAN YOU HELP HOLDEN
CUT OUT SOME SHAPES
FOR HIS BIKE?

Bondini nods.

Maria says WE'LL USE
THE FOLDERS HE BROUGHT.

Bondini says OKAY.

Maria says GREAT.

Bondini says RIGHT.
OKAY.
SO, HOLDEN,
CAN YOU CUT OUT TWO
CIRCLES ABOUT THAT BIG?

Bondini makes a small circle with his fingers.

Holden says SURE.

Bondini says OKAY, SO THERE'S
YOUR SCISSORS FOR YOU.

Holden says DONE.

Bondini says COOL.
LET'S MAKE...
SOME SQUARES
AND SOME RECTANGLES
WITH THOSE ONES.

Maria says HOLDEN, WHAT'S
YOUR FAVOURITE SPORT
TO PLAY WITH YOUR MOM?

Holden says RIDING A BIKE.
MY MOM TAUGHT ME
HOW TO RIDE THE BIKE,
SO IT'S KIND OF SPECIAL.

Maria says THAT IS SPECIAL.
OKAY. WHEN YOU'VE CUT OUT
ALL YOUR SHAPES,
YOU CAN PUT THEM ONTO
YOUR SHELF PAPER.
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW
WHAT YOU WANT,
BECAUSE WHEN THEY'RE
ON THERE, THEY'RE ON THERE.

Bondini says OKAY.
ALL RIGHT.
I GOT SOME SHAPES
HERE FOR YOU GUYS.

Maria says OH, THANKS, BONDINI.

Bondini says THESE ROUND ONES HERE,
DID YOU WANNA USE THOSE
MAYBE FOR THE WHEELS?

Holden says YEAH.

Bondini says YEAH? OKAY.
MAKE SURE TO PUT THEM
RIGHT INSIDE
THE CENTRE
OF THE CIRCLE.
THERE YOU GO.
THAT'S THE GRASS.
THAT LOOKS COOL.
AND THAT'S ONE PART
OF THE WHEEL.
THAT LOOKS GOOD,
I LIKE THAT.
THE OTHER WHEEL, YEAH,
LOOKING COOL.
WHAT DO YOU THINK
THE YELLOW ONE IS GONNA BE?

Holden says THE SUN.

Bondini says THE SUN?
THAT MAKES
PERFECT SENSE.
THERE YOU GO.

Maria says OKAY, NOW WE CAN DECORATE
AROUND OUR PICTURE.
WE CAN USE THESE
TRANSLUCENT PIECES!

Bondini says YOU MEAN THESE ONES
RIGHT HERE?

Maria says YEAH.

Bondini says OKAY.

Maria says HOLDEN, YOU SAID YOUR MOM
LIKES THE OUTDOORS, RIGHT?

Holden says YEAH.

Maria says WHAT IF WE USED
THESE PRESSED FLOWERS
TO MAKE IT
MORE OUTDOORSY?

Bondini says AH.

Maria says JUST TAKE WHAT
YOUR MOM WOULD LIKE.

Bondini says YOU MEAN
THESE FLOWERS?

Maria says YEP.

Bondini says OKAY.

Maria says DON'T USE TOO MUCH
BECAUSE WE STILL WANT
THE LIGHT TO SHINE THROUGH.
OKAY.

Bondini says THAT'S A NICE FLOWER.
OOH, LIKE A CLOUD!
THAT LOOKS COOL.
WANT ANYTHING ELSE,
OR YOU THINK
THAT'S ENOUGH?

Holden says ONE LAST CLOUD.
ORANGE ONE.

Bondini says ORANGE CLOUD.

Maria says ORANGE CLOUD,
AWESOME!

Bondini says SO, YOU'VE GOT A CLOUD
OF EVERY COLOUR.

Maria says YOURS LOOKS SO COOL!

Holden says SO DOES YOURS!

Maria says THANKS!
ONCE YOU'VE GOT
EVERYTHING IN PLACE,
YOU'RE GONNA TAKE
ANOTHER ROLL
OF SHELF PAPER
LIKE THIS.
HOLDEN,
CAN YOU HELP ME?

Holden says SURE.

Maria says OKAY.

Bondini says OKAY, HOLDEN,
YOU'RE GONNA HOLD
THIS CORNER RIGHT HERE.

Maria says OKAY.

Bondini says AND THEN WE SLOWLY
LAY IT DOWN
FROM YOUR CORNER DOWN.
THERE WE GO.
FLATTEN IT OUT,
FLATTEN IT OUT,
FLATTEN IT OUT.
OKAY, THERE!
THAT LOOKS GREAT.

Maria says THEY BOTH
LOOK AWESOME.
WE CAN TAKE OFF
OUR DESIGNS NOW.

Bondini says THERE WE GO.

Maria says NOW YOU GOTTA TAKE
YOUR EMBROIDERY RING
AND TAKE
THE TWO HOOPS APART.
OOH!

One of her rings falls and she giggles.

Maria says PUT THE SMALLER ONE
ON THE BOTTOM.
OKAY.

Bondini says AND IT'S IMPORTANT
TO LINE THE IMAGE UP
RIGHT IN BETWEEN
THE CIRCLE.

Maria says NOW YOU CAN PUT
THE BIGGER ONE ON TOP.

Bondini says MAKE SURE YOU GOT
THE SCREWS AT THE TOP.
THERE YOU GO.

Maria says PUSH DOWN HARD!

Bondini says PUSH!
THERE WE GO.

Maria says OKAY, NOW WE'RE GONNA
FLIP IT OVER
AND CUT OFF THE EXTRA.

Bondini says THERE YOU GO.
GREAT.

Maria says THEN HOLD YOUR
SUNSHINE SPARKLER
UP TO THE LIGHT!

Bondini says OOH!

Maria says YOURS LOOKS SO GOOD,
HOLDEN!

Bondini says THAT'S FANTASTIC.
YOU CAN ALMOST SAY
IT'S BLINGY!

Maria says BLINGY!
THAT'S HOW WE ARE GONNA
TAKE THIS CRAFT
FROM WOW TO KAPOW!
BY DECORATING
THE OUTSIDES TOO.
WE CAN USE THESE DOODADS
THAT I USED ON MY SUNGLASSES.

Bondini says OOH!

Holden says WHICH WOULD YOU
LIKE BEST, HOLDEN?

Holden says THIS ONE.

Maria says THESE ONES? OKAY. I'M GONNA
DO THE OTHER SIDE.

Holden glues a string of shiny beads around the circle.

Bondini says THERE YOU GO.
I LOVE THIS PATTERN
YOU'RE MAKING A HERE.

Holden says THANKS.

Bondini says GOOD JOB,
HOLDEN.
WAIT!
DON'T FORGET THE RIBBON
TO HANG IT WITH.

Maria says OH, YEAH.
WHICH ONE
DO YOU LIKE?

Holden says I LIKE THIS ONE.

Bondini says THAT ONE...

Maria says GOOD CHOICE!

Bondini says THAT'S A GOOD ONE.
PULL ON YOUR END,
I'LL PULL ON MY END.
THAT'LL TIGHTEN IT.
THERE WE GO.

Maria says WHAT YOU THINK, HOLDEN?

Holden says I THINK
IT LOOKS AWESOME!

Holden says GREAT.
SUPER MIGHTY
MAKER HOLDEN,
YOUR SUNSHINE SPARKLER
IS DONE.
IT'S TIME TO SPARKLE DOWN
AND COMPLETE
YOUR MAKER MISSION.
COME ON!

Bondini says LET'S GO!
HOLDEN, KEEP SAVING THE WORLD
ONE CRAFT AT A TIME.
BYE!

Holden says BYE, MARIA.
BYE, BONDINI!

Maria says BYE, HOLDEN!

(magical tinkling)
Bondini pushes the lever back and Holden dissolves into confetti.

Bondini says OKAY, LET'S WATCH!

Holden and his mom appear on the screen.

Holden says MOM, LOOK WHAT
I MADE FOR YOU.

Mom says WOW!
WHAT IS THIS?

Holden says IT'S A SUNSHINE SPARKLER!

Mom says OH, MY GOODNESS!

Bondini says AW, SHE LOVES IT.

Maria says SHE DOES!

Mom says READY?
LOOK!

Mom hangs the sunshine sparkler and says OH WOW, THE PINK REALLY
COMES THROUGH, DOESN'T IT?

Maria says LOOK AT THE LIGHT
SHINE THROUGH IT.

Bondini says I KNOW!

Mom says THANK YOU,
HOLDEN!
OOH!

She hugs Holden.

Bondini and Maria say MAKER MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Bondini says THAT SUNSHINE SPARKLER WOULD
PUT A SMILE ON ANYONE'S FACE,
ESPECIALLY SOMEONE LOOKING
AT A WINDOW ALL DAY.

Maria says LIKE A COCKPIT WINDOW?

Bondini says MM-HM.

Maria says FOR THOSE DAYS YOU SEE
NOTHING BUT CLOUDS AND BIRDS,
I GIVE YOU-- AN ELEPHANT.

She hands him a sunshine sparkler.

Bondini laughs and says A FLYING ELEPHANT!
AH, THANKS, MARIA!

Maria says IF YOU WANT TO BRIGHTEN UP
SOMEONE'S WINDOW,
WHY NOT MAKE THEM
A SUNSHINE SPARKLER?
UNTIL OUR NEXT MISSION...

They say KEEP IT SUPER!
KEEP IT MIGHTY!
AND KEEP MAKING!

Bondini says OOH. LOOK,
IT'S GONNA FLY.
FLAP, FLAP, FLAP.

Maria says HEY!

Bondini says HA HA HA!
YOU CAN'T CATCH
MY ELEPHANT!
YOU CAN'T CATCH
MY ELEPHANT!

Maria chases him.

Maria says HEY, COME BACK!

The end credits roll.

The theme song says HEY
ALL RIGHT
SUPER MIGHTY MAKERS
SAVING THE WORLD
ONE CRAFT AT A TIME
SUPER MIGHTY MAKERS!
