Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
[Upbeat music plays]
In Makeaway Takeaway, Bec bounces a paper cup on her knee.
Bec says, FOR MY FIRST SPORTY CHALLENGE I'M PLAYING KEEPY CUPPIES. ONE.
[Squeaking, clunking]
The cup bounces off Bec’s knee and hits the counter. Bec picks it up.
Bec says, ONE, TW--
[Boinging, clunking]
The cup bounces off Bec’s knee and falls on the floor.
[Sighing]
Bec says, THIS TIME. ONE.
[Slide whistle, banging, squelching]
The cup bounces off Bec’s knee and knocks a glue bottle off a counter.
Bec says, UGH! MY GLUE! OH. WHAT A MESS. BETTER CLEAN THIS UP.
[Squelching, tearing]
Bec tries to clean the glue spill with a mop.
Bec says, OH NO, MY MOP'S STUCK. I DIDN'T REALIZE MY GLUE RECIPE WAS THIS STRONG.
[Bec grunting, banging, chiming]
Bec lets go of the mop and stumbles backwards. The mop top sticks to the glue, and Bec holds the handle.
Bec says, AH, BUT THIS GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR A TAKEAWAY TECHNIQUE!
[Whooshing, animated scissors snipping, mellow music plays]
Bec sits at a table with paper, a plate, glue, paint, and a lunchbox.
Bec says, USING WOOL AND P.V.A. GLUE I'M GOING TO MAKE A STILL LIFE USING A VASE AND THE FRUIT FROM MY PACK LUNCH. FIRST, I'M GOING TO SKETCH OUT MY PICTURE WITH MY PENCIL. AND I WANT THIS PICTURE TO HAVE AN ABSTRACT LOOK SO I'M USING SOME CURVY LINES.
[Pencil scratching]
Bec sketches the vase.
Bec says, YEAH, HAPPY WITH THAT. MY VASE IS ON A PLATE. MOVING ONTO MY FRUIT. DRAWING A STRAWBERRY AND A LOVELY BANANA. ALL RIGHT. NOW I'VE DRAWN MY PICTURE, I'M GOING TO USE THAT WOOL.
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec applies P.V.A. along her pencil line on the drawing and puts black wool on the P.V.A.
Bec says, TAKING MY P.V.A. I'M OUTLINING ALONG MY PENCIL LINE USING MY SQUIRTY BOTTLE. I'M GOING TO FOLLOW THE P.V.A. GLUE LINE WITH MY WOOL. YOU SEE, I'M JUST SOFTLY LAYING IT ON TOP. AND THEN USING MY FINGER TO SQUISH IT IN TO GET A NICE LINE THERE.
[Scissors snipping]
Bec uses more wool on the wavy line and plate.
Bec says, GOT MY PIECE OF WOOL AGAIN. AND FOLLOWING IT ALL THE WAY AROUND. AND THEN, USING YOUR WOOL, FOLLOW ALL THE PENCIL LINES ON YOUR PICTURE AND LEAVE IT TO DRY.
[Animated paint splattering, upbeat music plays]
In Bec's drawing, black wool outlines the vase, plate, and fruit.
Later, Bec says, ONCE YOUR P.V.A. IS DRY YOU'RE LEFT WITH A 3-D OUTLINE. I'VE USED BLACK WOOL SO IT REALLY STANDS OUT. I'M GOING TO PAINT IN MY VASE. I THINK I'M GOING TO DO THE TOP HALF A NICE PINK. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH COLOURING IN, THE 3-D WOOL REALLY HELPS YOU TO STAY IN THE LINES.
Bec paints the vase and background.
Bec says, NOW, ONTO THE BASE OF MY VASE. I'M GOING TO DO A LOVELY PURPLE COLOUR. LET'S START THE BACKGROUND NOW. I'M USING PAINT, BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PAINT AT HOME YOU COULD ALWAYS USE FELT TIPS.
Bec paints the fruit.
Bec says, GOING TO PAINT MY PEAR A NICE GREEN. YES. OKAY, THAT STANDS OUT. ORANGE YOU GLAD IT'S TIME FOR AN ORANGE? REMEMBER, IF YOU'RE PAINTING AT HOME PUT DOWN SOME NEWSPAPER.
[Animated paint splattering]
Bec says, NEARLY THERE. JUST GOING TO DO THIS FINAL CORNER. AND I'M DOING IT WITH A LOVELY DARK BLUE COLOUR.
Bec paints the corner of her painting.
Bec says, AND THERE IS A STILL LIFE USING P.V.A. GLUE AND WOOL. THAT'S HOW YOU TURN A STICKY SITUATION INTO A WORK OF ART.
[Squeaking, animated paint splattering, boinging]
By the counter, Bec bounces the cup on her knee.
Bec says, 97, 98, 99, 100! LOOK HOW MUCH BETTER I AM NOW!
[Panting]
Bec says, AND...
The cup hangs by a string from the mop handle.
Bec says, THIS IS AWKWARD.
[Boinging, chiming]
Bec bounces the cup on her knee.
Bec says, A CUSTOMER!
[Whirring]
An order slip prints beneath a screen on the wall.
[Bright music plays]
On the screen, a boy with short brown hair wears a red hooded jacket.
The brown-haired boy says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. BEC, I NEED YOUR HELP! WE LOVE BOOKS AND I'VE LOTS OF THEM. IT'S HARD TO KEEP TRACK OF THEM ALL. I NEED A CREATIVE SOLUTION TO KEEP THEM TIDY.
Bec says, I KNOW JUST THE THING. ONE ARTY DELIVERY COMING RIGHT UP.
[Rustling, energetic music plays, whistling, footsteps pattering, whooshing, chiming]
Bec grabs the piece of paper and runs. She jumps into a comic panel, ties her shoelaces, and straightens her socks. Then, she snaps her suspenders, puts on a hat, and fastens a belt with dangling markers around her waist. Bec winks and gives a thumbs-up.
Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!
[Upbeat music plays]
In a living room, the brown-haired boy in the red jacket reads on a futon with a taller brown-haired boy wearing a yellow sweater.
The brown-haired boy says, I'M BARNEY, AND THIS IS MY BRILLIANT BIG BROTHER, HENRY.
The taller boy, Henry, reads a book.
Barney narrates, WE LOVE BOOKS. I LOVE READING ABOUT WILD ANIMALS, WIZARDS, AND DRAGONS.
[Chiming]
Barney wears a headband with tiger ears, a wizard hat, and a dragon mask. Henry reads, wearing an astronaut helmet.
Barney narrates, WHILST MY BROTHER LOVES READING ABOUT SPACE. WE ALSO HAVE A HABIT OF STARTING ONE BOOK AND BEFORE WE FINISH IT STARTING ANOTHER. WE HAVE SO MANY BOOKS WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM ALL.
Barney says, HELP, BEC, CAN YOU DELIVER A MAKE FOR OUR BOOKS?
[Doorbell ringing]
Henry says, THAT MUST BE BEC NOW.
[Animated scissors snipping]
In an art studio, Bec, Barney, and Henry stand by a table.
Bec says, HI BARNEY, HI HENRY.
The children say, HI BEC.
Bec says, NOW, I'M LIKE YOU, I LOVE BOOKS. SO, I'VE GOT THE PERFECT MAKE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I'M GOING TO MAKE SOME BOOKMARK BOOKENDS.
The children say, AWESOME!
[Fanfare plays, cheering, applause, upbeat music plays]
Two pots have bookmarks resembling plants with pipe cleaner stems and open mouths with fangs. Between them, a row of books is placed. A bookmark with the fanged mouth marks a page in a book. Bec puts her supplies on the table.
Bec says, FIRST, WE'RE GOING TO MAKE OUR BOOKMARKS. I'M GOING TO MAKE THE BOOKMARKS LOOK LIKE SNAPPY PLANTS. TO MAKE THE HEADS OF OUR PLANTS WE'RE GOING TO NEED SOME COTTON WOOL, SOME WOODEN STICKS, AND SOME P.V.A. GLUE AND GREEN PAINT. LET'S GET MIXING!
[Paint squelching, children giggling]
Bec makes a face as she squeezes green paint into a bowl. Barney mixes P.V.A. and paint in a bowl.
Bec says, WE NEED TO MAKE EIGHT COTTON WOOL BALLS. SO, WE'RE GOING TO TEAR OFF ALL THE PIECES AND BALL THEM UP. SO, IF I DO FOUR, CAN YOU GUYS DO FOUR AS WELL?
Henry says, YEAH, SURE.
Bec says, AWESOME.
They form cotton balls.
Bec says, NOW IT'S THE FUN PART. WE'RE GOING TO TAKE OUR COTTON WOOL BALLS AND DIP THEM INTO OUR P.V.A. AND PAINT MIX.
Everyone dips their cotton balls into the paint mix. The green mix covers their hands.
Henry says, THIS IS REALLY SLIMY AND GLOOPY.
Bec says HERE'S A LITTLE TIP FOR YOU AT HOME AS WELL - IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET YOUR HANDS TOO DIRTY YOU CAN ACTUALLY PUT THE COTTON WOOL ON THE STICK FIRST AND THEN SORT OF USE IT LIKE CANDY FLOSS IN THERE.
Bec puts a cotton ball on a stick and swirls it in the mix.
Henry says, OH, NOW YOU TELL US.
Bec laughs at Henry.
Bec says, WHILE IT'S STILL WET, I'VE POPPED MY WOODEN STICK INTO THE BALL, AND THEN I'M GOING TO USE ANOTHER WOODEN STICK TO FORM THE MOUTH.
[Bec warbling, upbeat music plays]
Bec presses the side of a stick against a ball and then holds it against her face.
Bec says, WHILE OUR BOOKMARKS ARE DRYING, WE'RE GOING TO GET STARTED ON THE FLOWERPOTS. NOW, WE'RE GOING TO BE USING OLD SOUP CONTAINERS, BUT YOU CAN USE ANY POT AT HOME THAT HAS A LID.
Bec puts the lid on a ball of modelling clay and pokes a hole with a pencil.
Bec says, USING SOME MODELLING CLAY AND A PENCIL I'M GOING TO SAFELY POKE SOME HOLES THROUGH THE LID. MIGHT NEED A GROWN-UP TO HELP YOU WITH THIS BIT. NOW I'VE GOT MY FOUR HOLES AND THIS IS WHERE OUR BOOKMARKS WILL GO. NOW WE CAN GET PAINTING. I'M GOING TO MIX SOME P.V.A. GLUE AND PAINT TOGETHER LIKE WE DID EARLIER. THIS IS SO THAT OUR PAINT MIXTURE STICKS TO THE PLASTIC.
[Paint squelching]
Bec squeezes red paint into the P.V.A. and mixes it. She paints a pot red.
Bec says, WE'LL PUT THESE ASIDE FOR LATER.
Bec picks up two green cotton balls on sticks. One has a red mouth, two fangs and blue lips.
Bec says, NOW, BACK TO OUR BOOKMARK SNAPPY PLANTS. THESE HAVE DRIED AND, AS YOU CAN SEE, I'VE ADDED SOME EXTRA DETAILS ONTO THIS ONE. I'VE GIVEN IT A RED MOUTH, SOME WHITE PAPER TEETH, AND PAINTED SOME BLUE LIPS. ALL THAT'S LEFT TO DO IS TO DECORATE THE STEM AND ADD SOME LEAVES.
Bec draws leaves.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO DRAW A LEAF DESIGN ONTO THIS GREEN PAPER AND THEN CUT THEM OUT. YOU'VE DRAWN YOUR OWN OVER THERE, SO YOU CAN CUT THEM OUT AS WELL.
[Whooshing]
Everyone cuts out leaves.
[Animated paint splattering]
Bec says, NOW WE'VE ADDED OUR LEAVES, BUT THE STEM'S LOOKING A LITTLE BIT BARE, SO I'M GOING TO USE SOME PIPE CLEANERS TO MAKE IT NICE AND GREEN. BARNEY AND HENRY, CAN YOU HELP ME OUT BY WRAPPING YOURS UP AS WELL? YOU MAY NEED MORE THAN ONE PIPE CLEANER FOR THIS.
Everyone wraps green pipe cleaners around the sticks. Leaves surround each ball.
[Animated paint splattering, upbeat music plays]
Bec says, NOW, BACK TO OUR POTS. THEY'RE NICE AND DRY AND I'VE ADDED SOME RED CARD AROUND THE EDGE JUST TO MAKE IT LOOK PROPERLY LIKE A PLANT POT. I'VE ALSO ADDED SOME STONES IN THERE JUST TO MAKE 'EM NICE AND HEAVY AND HELP KEEP OUR BOOKS PROPPED UP.
[Rocks clattering]
Barney and Henry put rocks in their pot.
Bec says, NOW OUR POT'S FINISHED, TIME TO POP THE LID ON. I PAINTED MY LID BROWN SO IT LOOKS LIKE SOIL, AND I'VE ADDED SOME LEAVES.
Henry says, LOOKS REALLY GOOD.
Barney says, YEAH.
Bec says, LET'S ADD OUR BOOKMARKS!
Everyone pushes bookmark stems through the holes in the pot lids.
Barney asks, ARE YOU GOING TO NAME THEM ALL?
Henry says, UM...JERRY, TOM, BOB, JEFF.
[Bec laughing]
[Animated paint splattering]
Bec says, WE'RE FINISHED OUR BOOKMARK BOOKENDS! WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Henry says, THEY'RE REALLY GOOD.
Barney says, I LOVE THEM!
Bec says, WE'VE MADE SNAPPY PLANTS BUT YOU CAN MAKE ANY TYPE OF PLANT YOU LIKE. THIS ONE'S A CHEERY DAFFODIL AND THIS ONE'S A TROPICAL FLOWER.
Bec holds a smiling yellow flower bookmark and a bookmark with pink curling petals.
[Upbeat music plays]
Later, the children sit on the futon with bookmarks in their books.
Barney says, THANKS, BEC, OUR BOOKS LOOK REALLY TIDY NOW.
Henry says, AND THESE BOOKMARKS WILL HELP US REMEMBER WHAT WE'RE READING.
[Whooshing, animated scissors snipping]
In Makeaway Takeaway, Bec says, YOU'RE VERY WELCOME. TWO HAPPY CUSTOMERS.
[Chiming]
Bec puts the order slip in the tray.
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec says, FOR MY NEXT SPORTS DAY EVENT I WANTED TO DO AN EGG AND SPOON RACE BUT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY EGGS. HOWEVER, I DO HAVE AN EGG SANDWICH.
[Blooping]
Bec puts an egg sandwich on a large wooden spoon.
Bec says, SO I'M DOING THE EGG SANNY RACE. READY?
[Drum roll plays]
Bec says, SET. GO!
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec balances the sandwich on the spoon.
Bec says, WHOA, WHOA. WHOA!
[Slide whistle, splattering]
The sandwich falls on the floor.
Bec says, THINK I'D BETTER STICK TO ART. HERE'S SOME PAPER PUPPETRY.
[Whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
[Eerie music plays]
In a drawing, a skeleton throws its head back and forth between its hands. Bec moves paper in and out of the side of the drawing.
Bec says, NOW, LET'S SEE HOW IT'S DONE!
On the back of the drawing, Bec moves paper that pushes a second strip of paper attached to the skull.
[Whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
Bec stacks paper towel rolls in a stack taller than she is.
Bec says, I'VE CREATED A NEW EVENT FOR MY D.I.Y. SPORTS DAY. KITCHEN ROLL STACKING. IT'S OKAY, I'LL PUT THEM BACK WHEN I'M FINISHED. OKAY, THERE WE GO.
[Sniffling, sneezing, squeaking, thumping, rustling]
Bec lets go of the stack. She sneezes, and the stack falls. Bec picks up a full roll of paper towels and an empty tube.
Bec says, UGH. SO CLOSE. AH. BUT THIS GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR A MEGA MINI MAKE.
[Slide whistle, animated paint splattering, mellow music plays]
Bec sits at a small table.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A PHONE SPEAKER USING THIS CARDBOARD TUBE AND THE PAPER CUPS FROM MY RECYCLING. TAKE YOUR CARDBOARD TUBE AND TRACE AROUND IT ON TOP OF YOUR PAPER CUP.
Bec holds the tube on the side of a cup and traces the end of the tube.
Bec says, JUST TO GET AN IDEA. AND DO THE SAME WITH YOUR OTHER PAPER CUP. THEN TAKE YOUR PHONE, LINE IT UP ON YOUR CARDBOARD TUBE, MARK AROUND.
Bec holds her smartphone on the tube and traces lines at the bottom.
Bec says, NOW, CUT THEM OUT. I'M GOING TO PUT THE SCISSORS THROUGH MY TUBE. YOU MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP WITH THIS.
[Popping, scissors snipping]
Bec pokes the scissors through the tube and cuts out the shape of the bottom of the smartphone.
Bec says, WATCH YOUR FINGERS. I'M CUTTING IN A STRAIGHT LINE BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE I WANT TO SLIDE MY PHONE INTO AFTER. JUST CHECK MY PHONE FITS.
[Scraping]
Bec slides her smartphone into the opening.
Bec says, AH. CUT OUT THE CIRCLES YOU MADE ON YOUR CUPS. GREAT, LET'S MAKE SURE IT FITS.
[Scissors snipping, scraping]
Bec cuts out the circle in the side of a cup and slides the end of the tube in.
Bec says, THERE YOU GO, SHOULD SLOT IN. LIKE THAT. NOW I'LL CUT OUT MY OTHER CUP. OH, YEAH. EXCELLENT!
[Upbeat music continues]
Bec paints the tube red.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO PAINT MY SPEAKER. I'M GOING WITH A LOVELY FLUORESCENT RED. I WANT MY COLOUR TO BE AS LOUD AS MY MUSIC! AND NOW, I'LL JUST WAIT FOR IT TO DRY!
[Animated paint splattering]
Later, Bec says, IT'S DRY! NOW IT'S TIME TO DECORATE.
[Marker scratching]
Bec draws large black spots and small white spots on the tube.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO ADD SOME DETAILS. I'M USING A BLACK MARKER FIRST. I'M USING PENS TO DECORATE MINE BUT AT HOME YOU COULD USE ANYTHING - STICKERS, OLD WRAPPING PAPER. IT'S DECORATED SO IT'S TIME TO ASSEMBLE. GET YOUR PAPER CUPS AND SLIDE THEM OVER THE END OF THE TUBE.
[Scraping]
Bec slides the tube into the cups, with the smartphone opening on the top.
Bec says, AND THERE YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE SPEAKER. LET'S SEE IF IT WORKS.
Bec says, UHHH... AND...
[Beeping, rock music plays]
Bec activates her phone and dances in her chair.
Bec says, IT LOOKS GOOD AND IT SOUNDS GOOD!
[Animated paint splattering, Bec sighing]
Bec picks up paper towel rolls.
Bec says, OH, WHO KNEW SPORTS DAY COULD CREATE SO MUCH MESS?
[Chiming]
Bec says, A CUSTOMER!
[Slide whistle, clattering]
Bec throws the paper towel rolls into the air.
[Upbeat music plays]
A black-haired boy says, IT'S THE MAKE OF THE DAY! HI BEC! MY NAME'S HARRY AND I'M FROM WALES.
Bec says, HI HARRY. THANKS FOR CALLING MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
[Conveyor whirring]
Ingredients move past Bec on the conveyor belt as the black-haired boy, Harry, lists them.
Harry asks, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE OUT OF THESE THREE INGREDIENTS? PLASTIC BAGS... STRING...A TOILET ROLL!
Bec says, HM, THESE ARE INTERESTING INGREDIENTS. A TOILET ROLL. SPEAKING OF TOILETS, WHAT'S THE WORST THING YOU'VE EVER SMELT?
Harry says, MY DAD'S FARTS. WE CLEAR THE ROOM WHEN HE HAS DONE IT.
Bec says, SOUNDS MONSTROUS. MONSTROUS. I KNOW. ONE MAKE OF THE DAY COMING RIGHT UP.
[Whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A MONSTER LOO ROLL HOLDER USING HARRY'S INGREDIENTS.
[Fanfare plays, toilet flushing, cheering, applause]
A photograph shows a purple monster head with spots and pink hair. Toilet paper hangs from the monster's mouth.
[Animated paint splattering, upbeat music plays]
Bec pinches the end of a strip of purple card paper together.
Bec says, FIRST, I'VE GOT A STRIP OF PURPLE CARD. AND WHEN I BRING IT UP LIKE THIS THIS'LL BE MY MONSTER'S FACE. I WANT MY MONSTER'S MOUTH TO BE ABOUT THERE SO I'M JUST GOING TO POP A LITTLE MARK LIKE THAT.
Bec makes a small mark on the paper with her marker.
Bec says, I'VE CUT OUT AN OVAL SHAPE FROM ONE OF THE RECYCLED PINK PARTY BAGS THAT HARRY GAVE ME, AND I'M GOING TO USE THIS AS MY MONSTER'S MOUTH. TAKING MY GLUE STICK...
[Popping]
Bec takes the cap off her glue stick and applies glue to the mouth. She puts the mouth over the mark on the purple card paper.
Bec says, JUST GOING TO COVER IT IN GLUE. MAKE IT NICE AND STICKY. AND I'M STICKING THIS OVER WHERE I MADE MY MARK TO MAKE SURE IT MATCHES. I KNOW IT'S WIDE ENOUGH. I'M FLIPPING MY CARD OVER. AND WITH A LONG STRIP LEFTOVER FROM ONE OF MY RECYCLED PARTY BAGS I'M GOING TO PUT GLUE ON THIS. AND I'M GOING TO GLUE THIS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CARD.
Bec flips the card paper and glues a bag strip in the middle of the paper.
Bec says, THE REASON I'M DOING THIS IS BECAUSE IT MAKES A NICE SLIPPERY SURFACE SO THAT WHEN MY TOILET ROLL IS IN THERE IT'LL BE ABLE TO SPIN WITH EASE.
Bec flips the card paper over so the mouth is on top.
Bec says, NEXT, WE NEED TO MAKE A SPACE FOR THAT TOILET PAPER TO COME OUT. THEN, USING ONE OF HARRY'S OTHER INGREDIENTS, THE TOILET ROLL, I'M GOING TO LIE THIS DOWN TO MAKE SURE I'VE GOT THE WIDTH CORRECT AND MARK ON EACH SIDE.
[Upbeat music continues, marker scraping]
Bec holds the toilet paper roll against the mouth and makes marks on the mouth.
THEN, USING A RULER, I'M GOING TO DRAW A RECTANGLE.
I WANT TO MAKE THIS WIDE ENOUGH FOR THE TOILET PAPER TO COME OUT. ONCE YOU'VE DRAWN YOUR RECTANGLE, CUT IT OUT. I'M USING MODELLING CLAY UNDERNEATH. YOU MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS BIT. AND THEN, USING MY SCISSORS TO PIERCE THROUGH THE CARD SO THAT I CAN CUT OUT THAT RECTANGLE.
[Scissors snipping]
Bec cuts out the thin rectangle.
Bec says, NOW OUR MONSTER HAS A MOUTH! I WANT TO DECORATE MY MONSTER, SO I'VE CUT OUT SOME SPOTS FROM THE GREEN AND YELLOW RECYCLED PARTY BAGS.
[Whooshing]
Bec glues spots on half of the card, close to the mouth.
Bec says, STICKING THEM ON WITH MY GLUE STICK. THAT'S ONE SPOT. IF YOU NEED HELP DRAWING CIRCLES YOU CAN ALWAYS TRACE AROUND SOMETHING LIKE I DID WITH MY GLUE STICK. THIS MONSTER NEEDS SOME TEETH, SO I'VE CUT OUT SOME TEETH FROM THE LAST PLASTIC BAG IN HARRY'S INGREDIENTS. AND USING A GLUE STICK
Bec glues teeth on the backside of the mouth.
Bec says, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CARD, I'M STICKING THOSE DOWN SO THEY HANG OVER THE INSIDE OF THE HOLE OF THE MONSTER'S MOUTH.
Bec holds up the monster. She puts the eyes inside bottle tops and tapes them to the monster.
Bec says, OH! THIS MONSTER NEEDS SOME EYES. WITH A BLACK FELT TIP, I'VE DRAWN DOTS IN THE CENTRE OF THESE WHITE STICKERS. NOW I'M GOING TO STICK THEM INSIDE THESE BOTTLE TOPS. ONE EYE. TWO EYE. EYE-EYE! I'M STICKING THESE ON WITH DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE. YOU COULD ALSO USE GLUE STICK OR STRONG GLUE. I'VE STILL GOT SOME LEFTOVER PINK PARTY BAG FROM BEFORE SO I'VE FOLDED IT IN HALF, AND NOW I'M CUTTING STRIPS TO GIVE MY MONSTER SOME HAIR.
[Scissors snipping]
Bec cuts a fringe on the side of the pink party bag.
Bec says, I'M CUTTING THIS INTO LONG STRIPS. I'VE GOT THE FLOPPY FRINGE NOW. JUST TO STICK IT ON. TURN MY MONSTER OVER AND STICK THE HAIR AT THE END. HA!
[Blowing]
Bec holds up her monster and blows the fringe hair.
Bec says, HOW YOU DOIN' THERE, MATE?
In a silly voice, Bec says, I WANT SOME TOILET PAPER.
Bec says, ALL RIGHT, WE'LL GIVE YOU SOME TOILET PAPER. LET'S TAKE THE SECOND INGREDIENT THAT HARRY SENT ME!
Bec pushes toilet paper through the small rectangle in the mouth and folds the monster so the ends meet.
Bec says, AND JUST UNDOING IT A LITTLE BIT THERE, FEEDING IT THROUGH THE MOUTH. AND FOLDING THE ENDS UP TOGETHER. I'M JUST STAPLING THE ENDS OF IT TO SECURE IT DOWN. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR FINGERS CLEAR.
[Stapling, upbeat music continues]
Bec staples the end of the monster together.
Bec says, OKAY. NOW FOR THE FINAL INGREDIENT - THE STRING. THIS IS TO HANG YOUR TOILET ROLL HOLDER UP SO YOU CAN USE ANY LENGTH THAT YOU NEED. FEEDING IT THROUGH THE TOP.
Bec pushes the string through the top of the monster.
Bec says, AND TO TIE MY KNOT I'M HOLDING THE ENDS TOGETHER, LOOPING THEM AROUND EACH OTHER, AND THEN PULLING TIGHT. AND IF I FEED THAT THROUGH SOMEWHERE NOT AS VISIBLE. THERE IS YOUR MONSTER LOO ROLL HOLDER.
[Rustling]
Bec holds up the monster and pulls the toilet paper through the mouth.
Bec says, BLEH! WHILE I PACKAGE THIS UP FOR HARRY CHECK OUT THESE OTHER IDEAS.
[Whooshing, animated scissors snipping]
Video footage shows a one-eyed pink monster or a frog.
Bec says, HOW ABOUT A ONE-EYED ALIEN? OR A FABULOUS FROG FOR YOUR KITCHEN ROLL?
[Whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec puts a blue bag into a slot on the wall.
Bec says, THIS IS READY TO ROLL. ONE MAKE OF THE DAY COMING RIGHT UP.
[Beeping, whooshing]
Bec pushes a button, and the bag moves up on a lift.
[Animated paint splattering]
At home, Harry takes the monster toilet paper roll out of the blue bag.
Harry says, WHOA! THANK YOU SO MUCH, BEC, THIS IS AMAZING. IT'S REALLY STRANGE HOW IT STARTED OFF WITH THREE INGREDIENTS AND NOW IT'S... A MONSTER TOILET ROLL HOLDER. THANKS, BEC!
In Makeaway Takeaway, Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.
[Whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec bounces by the broom handle propped up on kitchen towel rolls. On the other side are five more rolls and the egg sandwich.
Bec says, FOR MY FINAL SPORTS DAY EVENT IT'S AN OBSTACLE COURSE. I NEED TO JUMP OVER THE BROOM HANDLE, PICK UP THE KITCHEN ROLLS, AND RUN AROUND THE EGG SANDWICH. HERE WE GO.
Bec jumps over the broom handle.
Bec says, WHOA.
[Panting, whooshing]
Bec picks up the roll and then slips on the egg sandwich.
Bec says, WHOA!
[Thudding]
Bec falls and stands, covered with paper towels.
Bec says, YAY, I WON!
[Chiming, triumphant music plays, rustling]
A trophy appears in the slot on the wall. Bec shakes off the paper towels and picks up the trophy.
Bec says, YEAH! EVERY SPORTS DAY NEEDS A TROPHY!
[Banana telephone ringing]
Bec says, A CUSTOMER!
[Whooshing, beeping]
Bec puts the trophy down and answers the telephone.
Bec says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY, HOW CAN I HELP?
[Whooshing]
On a split screen, a blonde-haired girl with blue eyes is holding a smartphone. She wears a white gi.
The blue-eyed girl, Emily, says, HI BEC, IT'S EMILY. OOH, CAN YOU HELP ME DELIVER AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR MY KARATE INSTRUCTOR, SENSEI DAVE?
Bec says, OF COURSE! I CAN'T WAIT!
[Beeping]
Bec ends the call.
Bec says, TIME TO SPLIT.
[Slide whistle, whooshing, zooming]
Title: “Makeaway Takeaway.”
[Students yelling]
In the dojo, Emily practices with the other students. Bec arrives.
Bec says, HELLO, EMILY, HI EVERYONE!
[Children chattering]
Emily says, HI BEC.
Bec says, SO YOU WANT ME TO DELIVER A SURPRISE FOR SENSEI DAVE?
[Upbeat music plays]
Emily says, YES, I DO. I'VE BEEN DOING KARATE FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS AND I'VE RECENTLY GONE FROM A YELLOW BELT TO A GREEN BELT.
Bec says, OH, AWESOME!
Emily says, I'D LIKE TO SURPRISE HIM WITH A BRILLIANT PIECE OF ART. CAN YOU HELP ME?
Bec says, I SURE CAN! I'LL PUT THE ARTY INTO KARATE. LET'S MAKE SOME ART.
[Upbeat music continues]
Emily cheers, YEAH!
[Slide whistle, whooshing]
Bec and Emily wear matching blue uniforms. They run to a giant white tarp and paint with paintbrushes.
Bec says, JUST GOING TO ADD SOME WATER TO HELP THE EFFECT.
[Spraying, students yelling]
Bec sprays water on the tarp. Elsewhere in the dojo, Sensei Dave teaches a class.
[Whooshing]
Bec and Emily paint.
[Students yelling, whooshing, upbeat music continues]
Sensei Dave, who has short brown hair, demonstrates arm movements to his students. The students spar. Emily and Bec paint a dragon.
Bec says, I THINK THAT SHOULD JUST ABOUT DO IT.
Emily says, IT'S BRILLIANT.
Bec says, ALL RIGHT, BETTER GO GET SENSEI DAVE.
Emily says, YEAH, OKAY.
[Upbeat music continues]
Emily leads Sensei Dave and the class to the painting. He wears a yellow belt covering his eyes.
Emily says, SENSEI DAVE, I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME GET MY GREEN BELT WITH SOME ART FOR THE DOJO. TAKE A LOOK.
Sensei Dave removes the belt and looks at the orange and yellow dragon. The dragon has blue ridges on their back and blue claws.
Sensei Dave says, OH, THAT'S BRILLIANT. THANKS, EMILY. THANKS, BEC.
[Students cheering]
Bec says, THAT'S ANOTHER BRILLIANT DAY OF DELIVERING ART TO YOUR DOOR. SEE YOU NEXT TIME ON...
Everyone says, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
