[Doorbell ringing]

[Energetic music plays]

[Whistling]

In the Makeaway Takeaway restaurant, various craft supplies fill fridges, cover countertops, and adorn menus, including bottles of paint, scissors, sponges, ribbon, and a box of paintbrushes and pens. Host Bec Hill talks on her banana phone. Bec wears her long, curly pink hair in an updo. In her Makeaway Takeaway uniform, she wears a yellow polo shirt with a light blue collar, and a dark blue skirt with suspenders over light blue shorts. Bec paints a self-portrait with bubble wrap. Plates, cups, paint, sunglasses, balled-up paper, and straws move on a conveyor belt. Bec pulls a bucket off her head. Three children paint. Bec spreads glue across a strip of paper and holds a colander over her head. A black-haired girl dances. Bec announces the title.

Bec says, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!

[Doorbell ringing]

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter, watering a small, leafy plant. A Makeaway Takeaway sticker marks a water bottle. Paintbrushes soak in a container of purple water.

Bec says, OH, SOMEBODY'S THIRSTY!

Bec looks up and says, OH, HELLO! I'M BEC. WELCOME TO MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY! THIS IS MY POT PLANT SALVADOR DA-LEAF. LOOK HOW WELL HE'S GROWING! I MUST HAVE GREEN FINGERS!

Bec holds up her hands, revealing her green-stained fingers.

[Alarm blaring]

[Bec gasping]

Bec says, OH, NO, THAT'S RIGHT, THIS IS FROM WHEN I WAS PAINTING EARLIER. WHILE I WAS TAKING THESE OFF, HERE'S TODAY'S MENU.

[Upbeat music plays]

[Whooshing]

Rolls of paper unravel. Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Upbeat music continues]

Bec narrates, COMING UP ON TODAY'S SHOW, A TECHNIQUE THAT'S QUILL-Y GREAT.

Bec glues a rolled-up, narrow strip of paper to the artwork of a beach and ocean.

Bec narrates, I GET A CALL FROM A CUSTOMER WHO NEEDS THE PERFECT PLACE TO HIDE HIS SWEETS.

Bec rolls a large paper leaf over a pencil.

Bec narrates, AND A COMMUNITY LEADER GETS AN UNBE-LEAF-ABLE SURPRISE.

Bec stands on a ladder and trims branches on a plant.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Whistling]

Bec stands behind the front counter with her leafy plant, Salvador Da-Leaf.

Bec says, IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS STAY HYDRATED. WATER FOR ME.

Bec drinks from her water bottle.

[Glugging]

Bec says, WATER FOR YOU.

Bec pours purple paint water from the paintbrush container into Salvador Da-Leaf.

Bec says, WATER FOR ME.

Bec drinks from her water bottle.

[Glugging]

Bec says, WATER FOR YOU.

Bec waters Salvador Da-Leaf with the paintbrush water.

Bec stops and says, OH, NO!

[Bec gasping]

Bec says, THAT'S THE WRONG WATER! I WAS WASHING MY PAINTBRUSHES IN THAT!

Bec briefly pauses.

Bec continues, I'M SURE SALVADOR WILL BE FINE. A LITTLE PAINT WATER NEVER HURT ANYONE. RIGHT? WHILE SALVADOR RECOVERS I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU…

Bec spreads her arms and cheers, …A TAKEAWAY TECHNIQUE!

[Exciting music plays]

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Bec takes a seat at the takeaway lunch table, where a variety of craft supplies are laid out, including narrow strips of green, yellow, and brown paper, a glue stick, a light blue sheet of card paper, a rectangular sheet of dark blue card paper, and rolled-up strips of paper.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU THE TECHNIQUE OF PAPER QUILLING. I'M STARTING WITH A LARGE PIECE OF BLUE CARD, WHICH WILL BE THE BACKGROUND. AND BECAUSE I'M DOING A SEA PICTURE, I'M USING A DARK BLUE PIECE OF CARD FOR THE WATER. WHICH I'M GOING TO STICK DOWN.

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

Bec glues the dark blue rectangular card paper to the bottom of the light blue card paper with the glue stick.

Bec says, TO MAKE AN ISLAND, I'VE CUT OUT A SHAPE FROM THIS RECYCLED PIECE OF PACKING PAPER. I'M JUST GOING TO STICK THAT DOWN AS WELL.

Bec glues a piece of brown packing paper with wavy edges to the side of the large card with her glue stick. A small part of it covers the light blue sky while the rest covers the dark blue sea.

Bec says, NOW I'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THE QUILLING. I'VE CUT SOME COLOURED PIECES OF PAPER INTO LONG STRIPS, AND I'M JUST TAKING THE END, PINCHING IT, AND THEN ROLLING IT UP.

Bec tightly rolls a narrow strip of brown paper.

Bec says, ROLL IT ALL THE WAY TO THE END, MAKING SURE IT'S EVEN. AND ONCE I REACH THE END I’M JUST GOING TO LOOSEN IT A LITTLE BIT, GOT A LITTLE CIRCLE. I'LL THEN TAKE THE END AND GLUE IT DOWN.

Bec loosens the rolled-up strip and glues the end to the roll with the glue stick.

Bec says, PINCH IT TO GIVE A BIT OF A SQUARE SHAPE. AND THIS IS GOING TO MAKE THE TRUNK OF THE PALM TREE.

Bec gently squeezes the roll and shapes it into a square. She dips the roll in a dish of glue.

Bec says, SO I'M DIPPING IT INTO A LITTLE BIT OF P.V.A. AND THEN PLACING IT ON THE ISLAND. I'VE MADE SOME OTHER PIECES JUST LIKE IT, AND I'M GOING TO GLUE THESE DOWN AS WELL.

Bec glues rolled strips of brown paper onto the island on the large card paper. Other rolled strips of paper include green leaves and a turtle.

[Paint splattering]

Bec adds to a palm tree trunk made of squares of rolled strips of paper.

Bec says, THAT'S THE TRUNK. NOW TO MAKE THE LEAVES OF THE PALM TREE I'VE GOT SOME GREEN STRIPS OF PAPER. SO I'M MAKING THESE SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN THE TRUNK WAS.

[Gentle, upbeat music plays]

Bec loosely rolls and glues a green strip of paper.

Bec says, THEN, INSTEAD OF MAKING A SQUARE SHAPE, I'M JUST GOING TO PINCH IT ON EITHER SIDE SO IT LOOKS A BIT LIKE AN EYE. AND THERE IS A PALM LEAF. NOW TO STICK IT DOWN.

Bec gently squeezes the sides of the green roll and shapes it into a leaf. She dips it in glue and sticks it beside the palm tree trunk.

Bec says, AND I'VE MADE SOME OTHERS WHICH I'LL ALSO GLUE DOWN.

Bec adds other palm leaf rolls to her artwork.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the lunch table, Bec says, NOW LET'S MAKE A SUN. I'VE GOT SOME STRIPS OF YELLOW PAPER. YOU COULD ALSO USE RECYCLED MAGAZINES OR NEWSPAPER. ONCE YOU'VE GOT A NICE SUN CIRCLE, DIP IT IN THE P.V.A., AND PLACE IT IN THE SKY.

Bec loosely rolls a strip of yellow paper and glues it into the light blue sky of her artwork as the sun.

Bec says, AND GIVE IT SOME SUN RAYS AS WELL. THIS TIME I'M GOING TO FOLD THE PAPER BACK AND FORTH CONCERTINA STYLE. TRY TO GET THE FOLDS AS EVEN AS POSSIBLE.

Bec folds square shapes into a yellow strip back and forth.

Bec says, THERE WE GO. JUST STICK THE ENDS TOGETHER. AND THEN, POP THAT AROUND THE SUN.

Bec glues the ends of the strip together. She stretches the strip apart and places it over the sun strip.

Bec says, THIS IS A TURTLE I MADE USING THE SAME TECHNIQUES AS BEFORE. I'LL STICK IT IN.

Bec dips her turtle in the dish of glue and sticks it on the dark blue card paper.

Bec says, THERE YOU GO, AND I'VE DONE SOME FISH AS WELL.

Bec adds yellow rolls shaped into fish to the dark blue card paper.

Bec says, FINALLY, I'LL ADD SOME BIRDS. THIS PART'S REALLY EASY. I'VE CUT SOME STRIPS OF BLUE PAPER INTO SHORT LENGTHS, JUST GOING TO FOLD IT IN HALF.

Bec folds a small strip of dark blue paper in half.

[Gentle, bright music plays]

Bec says, AND SPLAY THE ENDS.

Bec pinches the folded end and spreads the top ends outward into wings.

Bec says, STICK IT DOWN.

Bec dips the dark blue bird in glue and sticks it to the light blue sky card paper.

Bec says, ADD A COUPLE MORE.

Bec adds two more blue birds to the sky.

Bec says, AND THERE IS AN ISLAND PICTURE MADE WITH A PAPER QUILLING TECHNIQUE.

The island picture sparkles.

[Chimes]

[Paint splattering]

Later in the takeaway, Salvador Da-Leaf is a big plant. Bec walks over to the front counter and picks up art supplies, including a ruler and paintbrush.

[Bec humming]

Bec says, JUST DOING A SPOT OF TIDYING.

Bec spots the much larger Salvador Da-Leaf and drops the art supplies.

[Bec yelping]

[Alarm blaring]

Bec says, IS IT JUST ME OR IS SALVADOR DA-LEAF ABSOLUTELY MA-HU-SIVE?

A large leaf sticks out from Salvador Da-Leaf and taps Bec on the shoulder. Bec furrows her brow.

Bec says, HUH?

Bec glances over her shoulder. The large leaf knocks her art supplies off the counter.

Bec says, THAT'S WEIRD. I THOUGHT SOMEONE JUST TAPPED ME ON THE SHOULDER.

Bec glances at the now-empty counter.

Bec says, AH! WHERE DID MY ART SUPPLIES GO?

[Ringing notification]

An order ticket prints from the Makeaway Takeaway order screen.

[Printer whirring]

Bec says, I'LL FIND THEM LATER. WE'VE GOT A CUSTOMER!

Bec runs over to the screen and watches a video on the order ticket. In the video, a boy with short, curly black hair wears a short-sleeved blue T-shirt.

The black-haired boy says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. BEC, I NEED YOUR HELP. MY OLDER SISTERS KEEP TAKING MY SWEETS! CAN YOU DELIVER ME AN ARTY SOLUTION TO STOP THEM?

Bec says, OOH, TAKING YOUR SWEETS? THAT IS A PROBLEM. BUT DON'T WORRY, I'VE GOT JUST THE THING. ONE ARTY DELIVERY COMING RIGHT UP!

Bec grabs the order ticket and leaves.

[Energetic music plays]

In a comic book panel, Bec ties the laces on her pink sneakers and straightens her socks. She snaps her suspenders and puts on a Makeaway Takeaway visor. Bec puts on a craft tool belt which carries a paint roller, pen, scissors and other craft supplies. She straightens the collar of her shirt, winks, and gives a thumbs-up.

Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!

Bec takes off running.

[Whooshing]

[Cheerful, upbeat music plays]

In a living room, the black-haired boy wears a jujitsu uniform.

The black-haired boy narrates, I'M OMAR AND I'M 11 YEARS OLD. MY FAMILY AND I ARE ALL JUJITSU CHAMPIONS.

Omar’s family sits in the living room with him, including his mom, dad, and two sisters. They all wear jujitsu uniforms.

[Cheering and applause]

Omar narrates, IN FACT, I WAS AN INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION AT THE AGE OF SIX.

Omar wears medals around his neck and a belt over his shoulder.

Omar narrates, WE EAT LOTS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. THESE KEEP US HEALTHY SO WE CAN BRING HOME THE GOLD MEDALS.

Omar holds a bowl of fruits and vegetables. His dad drinks a green smoothie.

Omar narrates, I LOVE MY FAMILY, BUT MY SISTERS CAN BE SO ANNOYING. THEY SPEND AGES IN THE BATHROOM, KEEP CUDDLING ME, AND WHEN WE'RE ALL OUT OF SWEETS, THEY EAT ALL OF MINE!

Omar’s sisters poke him from behind.

Omar asks, CAN YOU HELP ME, BEC? I NEED AN ARTY SOLUTION RIGHT AWAY!

[Doorbell ringing]

Omar says, THAT MUST BE BEC NOW!

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

In a craft room, Omar wears his blue T-shirt and a blue Makeaway Takeaway apron. Bec joins him at a table and puts down her visor.

Bec says, HI OMAR!

Omar says, HI BEC.

Bec says, SO YOUR SISTERS KEEP EATING YOUR SWEETS?

Omar says, YES, THEY DO.

Bec says, RIGHT, WELL, I'VE GOT THE PERFECT CRAFTY SOLUTION FOR YOU. THE HEALTHY HIDEAWAY.

A cauliflower craft is shown with curled leaves.

[Fanfare plays]

[Cheering and applause]

[Paint splattering]

At the craft table, Bec says, YOU'LL NEED TWO PARTY BOWLS LIKE THIS. YOU CAN GET THEM ONLINE OR AT THE SUPERMARKET. OR YOU CAN USE SOME RECYCLED ONES.

[Gentle, upbeat music plays]

Bec places two yellow plastic bowls on the table.

Bec says, YOU'LL NEED SOME COTTON WOOL BALLS AND SOME P.V.A. GLUE.

Bec puts a bowl of cotton balls and a bowl of P.V.A. glue on the table.

Bec says, NEXT, I'M GOING TO GLUE MY COTTON WOOL ONTO ONE OF MY BOWLS.

Bec flips over one of the plastic bowls. She dips a cotton ball in the glue and sticks it onto the bowl.

Bec says, IT'S LOVELY AND GLOOPY, ISN'T IT? WHAT'S THE SOFTEST THING YOU'VE EVER TOUCHED?

Omar says, MY DAD'S BALD HEAD.

[Bec chuckling]

Bec glues more cotton balls onto the bowl.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the craft table, cotton balls cover the bowl.

Bec says, WHEN YOUR BOWL IS COVERED IN COTTON WOOL, THEN IT'S TIME TO PAPIER MÂCHÉ OVER THE TOP. YOU'LL NEED TISSUE PAPER AND A P.V.A. MIX. IT'S TWO PARTS P.V.A. TO ONE PART WATER. WE'RE COVERING THE COTTON WOOL SO IT HAS A SMOOTH TEXTURE TO PAINT ON. YOU CAN GET TISSUE PAPER AND P.V.A. FROM YOUR LOCAL CRAFT STORE OR SUPERMARKET. IF YOU CAN'T FIND TISSUE PAPER, YOU COULD ALWAYS USE KITCHEN ROLL.

Omar dips squares of white tissue paper in the glue and P.V.A. mixture. He presses the soaked tissue paper onto the cotton balls using a paintbrush.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the craft table, Bec says, WHILE WE WAIT FOR OUR CAULIFLOWER TO DRY, WE'RE GOING TO DRAW SOME LEAVES. I'VE GOT US SOME GREEN CARD. ARE YOU READY?

Omar nods and says, MMM-HMM.

Bec says, WE'RE DRAWING SOME WIGGLY LINES FOR THE CAULIFLOWER LEAVES.

Omar and Bec draw squiggly lines on green pieces of card paper using black pens and shape leaves.

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Later at the table, Bec and Omar’s leaves are laid out with the now-dry cotton ball cauliflower.

Bec says, NOW WE'VE CUT OUT OUR LEAVES AND I'VE ADDED SOME EXTRA DETAILS ON HERE AND ON MY CAULIFLOWER WITH SOME YELLOW PAINT.

Bec points to yellow squiggly lines on her leaves and light yellow colouring on the cauliflower.

Bec asks, WHAT DO YOU RECKON, OMAR?

Omar says, I THINK IT LOOKS COOL.

Bec says, NOW THE LEAVES NEED TO BE STUCK TO THE OTHER BOWL. OMAR, HAVE YOU SEEN THE BOWL?

Omar says, YEP.

Omar pulls the second plastic party bowl out from behind the table. Bec gives two thumbs-up. Omar presses one of his paper leaves onto the rim of the bowl.

Bec says, YOU CAN STICK THE LEAVES ON WITH ANYTHING YOU LIKE, BUT WE'RE USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE. MAKE SURE THAT YOU STICK THE LEAVES UNDER THE EDGE OF THE BOWL. IT'S FINE IF THE LEAVES OVERLAP.

Omar tapes leaves around the bowl. He holds up the bowl.

Omar asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Bec nods and says, AWESOME.

Bec gives a thumbs-up.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the craft table, Bec says, NOW HERE'S A TOP TIP. YOU CAN CURL YOUR LEAVES WITH A PENCIL. THIS HELPS MAKE THEM LOOK MORE REALISTIC.

Bec loosely curls one of the paper leaves over a pencil. Later at the craft table, she curls the last leaf.

Bec says, NOW WE JUST NEED TO PUT THE CAULIFLOWER PART ON TOP.

Bec places the cauliflower bowl on top of the leaf bowl. Bec furrows her brow.

Bec says, I THINK I'VE FORGOTTEN SOMETHING.

Omar says, THE SWEETS!

Bec says, OF COURSE! HOW COULD I LEAF THEM OUT?

Bec holds the cauliflower bowl, and Omar pours candy into the leaf bowl. Bec places the cauliflower bowl onto the leaf bowl.

Bec asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK, OMAR?

Omar says, THAT'S AMAZING. NICE WORK, BEC.

Bec says, THANKS, OMAR. WE'VE MADE A CAULIFLOWER, BUT YOU COULD ALSO MAKE A CARROT FOR YOUR CHOCOLATE BAR.

Bec opens the lid of a carrot hideaway and pulls out a chocolate bar. She takes a bite of the bar.

[Crunching]

Omar says, COOL CARROT.

[Bec giggling]

[Paint splattering]

In his living room, Omar sits with the cauliflower hideaway in his lap.

Omar says, THANKS, BEC. MY SISTERS WILL NEVER THINK OF LOOKING IN HERE. MY STASH OF SWEETS ARE FINALLY SAFE!

At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec says, I'M REALLY GLAD I COULD HELP, OMAR. ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Bec places Omar’s order ticket in a tray on the back counter.

[Register ding]

Bec turns to the front counter.

[Bec sighing]

Bec says, STILL CAN'T FIND MY ART SUPPLIES. THEY DISAPPEARED LIKE MAGIC! WHICH REMINDS ME OF SOME PAPER PUPPETRY!

One of Salvador Da-Leaf’s leaves reaches toward Bec. Bec leaves.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Light, playful music plays]

Bec stands beside a large pad of paper on an easel, featuring a drawing of an upside-down magician’s hat with rabbit ears poking out from the top. Bec wiggles her fingers and pulls on the rabbit ears, revealing them to be a pair of white socks pinned to a string with a clothespin. Bec pulls the white socks further out of the hat. She pulls a pair of green socks, a sports bra and a pair of underwear out of the hat.

[Triumphant music plays]

[Cheering and applause]

Bec smiles awkwardly.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

At the lunch table, art supplies including a paintbrush, a pencil and a paint palette stick out of Salvador Da-Leaf. Salvador’s leaves are tangled around an easel. With her foot against the table, Bec pulls on the easel.

[Bec straining]

Bec says, I FOUND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ART SUPPLIES.

[Bec straining]

Bec says, SALVADOR ATE THEM ALL!

[Bec straining]

Bec’s grip slips, and she stumbles backward.

[Crashing]

Salvador’s leaves shake.

[Leaves rustling]

Bec walks up to the table and frowns.

Bec says, YOU WIN THIS ROUND, SALVADOR.

[Leaves rustling]

Bec says, WHILE HE'S BUSY WITH THAT, I'LL DO A MEGA MINI MAKE!

Bec turns toward the Mega Mini Make table.

[Paint splattering]

Bec takes a seat at the table where craft supplies lie, including a green paper cup, a glue stick, scissors, elastic bands and strips of green paper folded back and forth.

[Gentle music plays]

Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A JUMPING PAPER CUP FROG WITH A RECYCLED PAPER CUP. I'M GOING TO USE A PENCIL TO POKE TWO HOLES THROUGH EITHER SIDE.

At the rim of the cup, Bec pokes a hole through one side with a pencil.

Bec says, ONE THERE. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. YOU'LL WANNA MAKE THEM NOT TOO BIG BUT NOT TOO SMALL.

Bec pokes another hole beside the first about an inch apart.

Bec says, THERE YOU GO, DO THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.

Bec pokes two more holes on the opposite side of the cup.

Bec says, NEXT, I'M TAKING A RUBBER BAND AND SNIPPING IT IN HALF.

Bec cuts a rubber band with the scissors.

Bec says, I'M THREADING THE END OF THE RUBBER BAND THROUGH ONE OF THE HOLES, AND TYING A KNOT. AND BECAUSE I WANT BOTH RUBBER BANDS TO CROSS OVER IN THE CENTRE, I'M GOING TO THREAD IT THROUGH THE HOLE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CUP. JUST TIE A KNOT THERE.

Bec slides the rubber band through one of the holes and ties a knot. She slides the band through the hole across the cup and ties another knot.

Bec says, THERE WE GO. DO THE SAME WITH THE OTHER TWO HOLES.

[Paint splattering]

A second rubber band is tied between the remaining holes in the cup. The bands make an X.

Bec says, ONCE YOU'VE DONE THAT, YOU CAN START DECORATING.

[Upbeat music plays]

Bec says, I'VE MADE THESE TWO FROG LEGS BY FOLDING TWO STRIPS OF GREEN PAPER BACK AND FORTH. AND ON THE END I'VE ADDED LITTLE FROG FEET. JUST GOING TO GLUE THEM ON.

Bec holds up her two frog legs, with the frog feet dangling off the ends. She glues the legs to the inside wall of the cup with the glue stick and wiggles them with her fingers.

[Bec humming]

Bec says, STICK ON SOME EYES AT THE TOP OF THE CUP.

Bec glues white circles with dot eyes onto the top of the cup. The top half of the circles reaches above the rim of the cup. Beck picks up a loosely rolled strand of red paper.

Bec says, I'VE MADE A TONGUE USING THE SAME PAPER QUILLING TECHNIQUE FROM EARLIER. AND I'M STICKING THIS TO THE FRONT OF THE CUP SLIGHTLY OFF-CENTRE. AND OVER THE TOP I'LL STICK THE FROG'S MOUTH.

Bec glues the red frog tongue and a red smiling mouth to the cup.

Bec says, THERE WE GO.

Bec sets her craft supplies aside.

Bec says, I ALSO ADDED SOME OTHER DETAILS TO THIS SMALLER PAPER CUP WITH SOME LITTLE LILY PADS.

Bec grabs a smaller blue paper cup with green paper lily pads glued on.

Bec says, LET'S SEE IF IT WORKS!

Bec places the frog cup on the lily pad cup.

Bec says, PRESS DOWN AND THEN LET IT GO.

Bec pulls the frog cup down onto the lily pad cup. She lets go, and it springs into the air. Bec’s smile widens.

Bec says, AND THERE GOES YOUR JUMPING PAPER CUP FROG.

In a slow-motion replay, the frog cup springs off the table.

[Paint splattering]

[Tense music plays]

In the takeaway, Bec says, MY MUM ALWAYS TOLD ME TO EAT MY GREENS BUT SHE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT MY GREENS EATING ME!

Bec pulls against Salvador Da-Leaf’s leaves wrapped around her.

[Salvador grumbling]

Bec says, COME ON, SALVADOR, PLEASE LET ME GO!

Salvador’s leaves shake.

[Salvador chattering]

Bec asks, WHAT'S THAT? YOU'RE HUNGRY?

[Salvador chattering]

Bec asks, HUNGRY FOR ART?

[Salvador chattering]

Bec says, OH, WELL, I CAN HELP WITH THAT IF YOU LET ME GO!

Salvador’s leaves slide off Bec.

[Bec sighing with relief]

Bec says, THANK YOU! HERE, TAKE THIS.

Bec slides a paintbrush between Salvador’s leaves.

Salvador says, UM-NUM.

The paintbrush disappears into Salvador.

[Munching]

Bec says, NO! THEY'RE NOT FOR EATING, THEY'RE FOR PAINTING!

[Salvador belching]

Bec says, HERE, LOOK. THERE YOU GO.

Bec places a paintbrush in one of Salvador’s leaves,

Salvador says, MMM.

Bec dips the paintbrush into a dish of blue watercolour paint and guides Salvador’s leaf onto a piece of paper.

Bec says, THERE WE ARE. VERY GOOD. LOVELY.

[Salvador chattering]

Bec says, THAT'S IT, LET THE PAINTBRUSH GUIDE YOU.

Salvador says, OOH. OOH YEAH.

[Salvador chattering]

Bec says, THAT'S NOT BAD FOR YOUR FIRST ATTEMPT.

[Ringing notification]

Bec glances toward the Makeaway Takeaway order screen.

Bec says, OKAY, YOU KEEP PAINTING WHILE I TAKE CARE OF THIS CUSTOMER.

Bec turns toward the screen. Salvador paints with other watercolours.

[Salvador humming]

[Cheerful, upbeat music plays]

On a video call, a girl with long brown hair wears a pink T-shirt. The artwork hangs on the wall behind her and features the Eiffel Tower, a deer, and a person wearing a dress.

The brown-haired girl says, IT'S THE MAKE OF THE DAY!

Bec smiles.

The brown-haired girl says, HI BEC, MY NAME IS ANYA AND I'M FROM GLASGOW.

Bec says, HI ANYA!

Anya asks, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE OUT OF THESE THREE INGREDIENTS?

The Make of the Day conveyor belt on the front counter begins to move.

Anya lists, FOOD COLOURING, ELASTIC BANDS, AND AN OLD T-SHIRT.

The conveyor belt delivers jars of yellow and orange food colouring, elastic bands and a folded white T-shirt on plastic plates. Bec purses her lips.

Bec says, HMM. I'LL NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOU FIRST, ANYA. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR OLD CLOTHES?

Anya says, WELL, USUALLY I GIVE THEM TO OTHERS WHO ARE SMALLER THAN ME AND WILL FIT THEM, BUT I'D LOVE TO UPCYCLE THEM AND TURN THEM INTO SOMETHING NEW.

Bec says, OOH, YES. IN FACT, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA. ONE MAKE OF THE DAY COMING RIGHT UP!

[Paint splattering]

Bec walks over to the front counter where the Make of the Day ingredients and crafting supplies are laid out, including rubber gloves, a ball of dark yellow wool, and a pair of scissors. Bec wears a Makeaway Takeaway apron.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A NO-SEW TIE-DYE CUSHION USING ANYA'S INGREDIENTS.

[Paint splattering]

[Fanfare plays]

[Cheering and applause]

A tie-dyed smiling sun cushion is shown with felt sunglasses and dark yellow wool tassels.

[Paint splattering]

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

At the counter, Bec says, I'M STARTING WITH ANYA'S FIRST INGREDIENT: THE OLD T-SHIRT. AND I'M LAYING IT OUT.

Bec unfolds the white T-shirt and lays it out on the counter.

Bec says, TAKE THE MIDDLE OF ONE SIDE OF THE T-SHIRT AND BUNCH IT UP. NOW I'M GOING TO USE ANYA'S SECOND INGREDIENT: THE RUBBER BANDS. I'M TYING THESE AROUND THE BUNCHES AND YOU'LL SEE WHY IN A MINUTE. AND I'M ALSO USING MORE RUBBER BANDS TO TIE FURTHER UP THE BUNCH.

Bec bunches up part of the middle section of the T-shirt into a tower. She wraps rubber bands around the bunched-up fabric.

Bec says, ONE HERE. AND ONE MORE, I RECKON.

Bec wraps another rubber band around the top of the bunched-up fabric.

Bec says, GOING TO DO SOME SMALLER BUNCHES AROUND THAT ONE. AND YOU CAN USE AS MANY ELASTIC BANDS AS YOU LIKE TO CREATE BUNCHES OF DIFFERENT SIZES.

Bec gathers other sections of fabric. She bunches them up and wraps elastics around them.

Bec says, ONE MORE BUNCH AND THEN I'LL DO THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE T-SHIRT.

Bec wraps an elastic band around another bunch of fabric.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the counter, Bec says, NOW THE T-SHIRT IS COVERED IN BUNCHES, I CAN START DYING IT.

[Gentle, upbeat music plays]

Bec says, I'VE GOT MY APRON ON AND I'M GOING TO PUT ON SOME GLOVES BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO GET MESSY.

Bec puts on the rubber gloves.

Bec says, GOING TO TAKE ONE OF THE BUNCHES AND USING ANYA'S THIRD INGREDIENT, THE FOOD COLOURING, I'M GOING TO START DYING THE T-SHIRT.

Bec dips a paintbrush in a dish of yellow food colouring.

Bec says, SOME YELLOW FIRST, NOT TOO MUCH. I'M JUST DABBING IT IN-BETWEEN THE RUBBER BANDS. THE ELASTIC BANDS STOP THE FOOD COLOURING FROM SEEPING THROUGH AND WILL CREATE A LOVELY PATTERN.

Bec paints the food colouring onto the fabric between the rubber bands.

Bec says, COVER ALL THE OTHER BUNCHES AND THEN LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT TO DRY.

[Whooshing]

Later at the counter, Bec says, WHILE THE T-SHIRT'S BEEN DRYING, I'VE BEEN MAKING TASSELS.

Bec holds a yellow wool tassel.

Bec says, I'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE SOME. I'VE GOT SOME OFFCUTS OF YELLOW WOOL.

Bec puts down her tassel and holds up short pieces of wool under her nose like a moustache.

Bec says, AND I'M GOING TO LAY THEM OUT OVER THE TOP OF ANOTHER PIECE OF WOOL. THEN TIE IT 'ROUND THE MIDDLE. THEN I'M GOING TO FOLD THE WOOL IN HALF AND USE ANOTHER PIECE OF WOOL TO TIE A KNOT TOWARDS THE TOP.

Bec lays the pieces of wool across a single piece of wool. She ties the single piece of wool and folds the multiple fragments in half over it. Bec ties another piece of wool around the fragments, near the top.

Bec says, GIVE IT A TRIM.

Bec trims the longer pieces of wool hanging from the tassel. She holds up the finished craft.

Bec says, AND THERE'S A TASSEL. LET'S SEE HOW THAT T-SHIRT'S DOING!

Bec grins and grabs the T-shirt.

Bec says, YEP, DEFINITELY DRY. I'M GOING TO TAKE OFF THE RUBBER BANDS.

Bec pulls a rubber band off the top of one of the bunches, revealing the blended orange and yellow colours.

Bec says, LOOKING GOOD.

Bec pulls more rubber bands off the shirt and sets them aside.

Bec says, LOOK HOW ALL THE COLOURS HAVE BLENDED INTO EACH OTHER. THERE WE GO, OH, LOOK AT THAT!

Bec spreads the shirt out on the counter and looks at a circular yellow and orange tie-dye shape.

Bec says, I'M GOING TO KEEP GOING UNTIL ALL THE RUBBER BANDS ARE OFF.

Bec pulls more rubber bands off the shirt.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the counter, the shirt is laid out flat across the surface.

Bec says, I'VE TAKEN THE RUBBER BANDS OFF THE T-SHIRT AND I'VE PUT THEM ASIDE SO I CAN USE THEM AGAIN ANOTHER TIME. I WANT THIS CUSHION TO BE ROUND, SO I'M GOING TO USE A WASHING UP BOWL TO MAKE SURE IT'S THE PERFECT CIRCLE. WE'LL DRAW A SMALLER CIRCLE. I'M USING A YELLOW MARKER SO IT'S NOT AS OBVIOUS AGAINST THE DYE.

Bec places the bottom of a large bowl over the largest circular shape on the shirt and traces it with a yellow marker.

Bec says, THERE WE GO. AND THEN, I WANT TO DRAW A BIGGER CIRCLE AROUND THIS ONE SO I'M JUST FLIPPING THE BOWL OVER.

Bec flips the bowl over onto the shape and traces the wider rim.

Bec says, NOW I'M GOING TO CUT OUT AROUND THE OUTER CIRCLE, AND I'M HOLDING THE TWO SIDES OF THE T-SHIRT TOGETHER SO I'M CUTTING OUT THE FRONT AND THE BACK AT THE SAME TIME. YOU'LL NEED SHARP SCISSORS FOR THIS, SO YOU MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP.

With her scissors, Bec cuts through both sides of the shirt along the lines of the wider circle.

[Whooshing]

[Scissors snipping]

Later at the counter, Bec pulls away the extra T-shirt fabric.

Bec says, KEEP THE OFFCUTS OF THE T-SHIRT, 'CAUSE WE'RE GOING TO USE THEM LATER TO STUFF THE CUSHION.

Bec sets the extra fabric aside.

[Gentle, upbeat music continues]

Bec says, AND, AS YOU CAN SEE, WE'VE CUT OUT BOTH SIDES OF THE T-SHIRT. BECAUSE THIS IS A NO-SEW CUSHION, I'M GOING TO CUT STRIPS AROUND THE EDGE UP TO THE INNER CIRCLE. THERE'S ONE. THERE'S THE OTHER.

Bec cuts lines through the wider circle to the smaller circle.

Bec says, ONCE YOU'VE DONE THAT, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TIE THE STRIPS TOGETHER.

Bec ties a strip of fabric from each circle together.

Bec says, YOU NEED TO DO THIS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE CUSHION.

Bec cuts and ties more strips around the circle.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, Bec ties one of her last few strips.

Bec says, BEFORE I FINISH TYING ALL OF THEM UP, I'M LEAVING A GAP SO I CAN STUFF THE CUSHION. I'VE GOT THE OFF-CUTS OF THE T-SHIRT. AND SOME OLD WORN-OUT CLOTHES. I PROMISE THEY'RE CLEAN.

Bec stuffs the tied-together fabric with the excess T-shirt fabric and her worn-out clothes.

Bec says, I CAN NOW TIE THE REMAINING STRIPS.

Bec ties the last strips in the circles.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the counter, Bec says, NOW IT'S TIME TO ADD THE TASSELS!

[Exciting music plays]

Bec says, I'M GOING TO TAKE THE LONG BITS OF WOOL, THEY'RE AT THE TOP, I'M LIFTING UP A KNOT, AND THEN LOOPING THE WOOL UNDERNEATH IT.

Bec slides the long piece of wool on one of her tassels under a knot on one of the tied-together T-shirt strips around the cushion.

Bec says, AND THEN TIE A KNOT TO SECURE THE TASSEL.

Bec ties a knot with the wool.

Bec says, JUST TIDY THAT UP.

Bec trims the excess wool with her scissors.

Bec says, AND ADD THE REST.

[Paint splattering]

Later at the table, tassels are tied around the cushion.

Bec says, THERE WE GO. I'VE USED EIGHT TASSELS, BUT YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY AS YOU LIKE. I'VE MADE SOME FACE SHAPES OUT OF FELT, WHICH I'M GOING TO GLUE TO IT WITH STRONG GLUE. NOW ALL OUR SUN NEEDS IS A FACE. AND WHAT'S A SUN WITHOUT A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES?

Bec glues a felt smile and black felt sunglasses onto the cushion.

Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR NO-SEW TIE-DYE SUN CUSHION. WHILE I PACKAGE THIS UP FOR ANYA, HERE'S SOME OTHER IDEAS.

[Scissors snipping]

A picture of a shooting star cushion is shown.

Bec says, HOW ABOUT A SQUIDGY SHOOTING STAR?

A picture of a moon cushion is shown.

Bec says, OR A COMFY MOON PILLOW?

In the takeaway, Bec slides a Makeaway Takeaway takeout bag into the delivery hatch.

Bec says, BYE-BYE, TIE-DYE! ONE MAKE OF THE DAY ON ITS WAY!

Bec presses a button beside the hatch, and the platform inside rises.

[Beeping]

[Paint splattering]

At Anya’s house, Anya gazes at the sun tie-dye cushion.

Anya says, OH, WOW, THIS IS SO COOL, BEC! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! IT'S FACE IS SO CUTE, AND THE SUNGLASSES ARE AWESOME. THANKS, BEC.

Anya hugs the cushion.

At the takeaway, Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Bec glances toward the lunch table and her eyes widen. She rushes over to the table, where Salvador is missing. A radio and a watercolour painting remain.

Bec says, SALVADOR'S GONE! AFTER ALL I'VE DONE FOR HIM!

Bec grabs the painting and rips it apart.

Bec screams, AHHHHHHHH!

Bec drops the ripped painting pieces on the table.

[Bec huffing]

Bec says, MAYBE SOME MUSIC WILL CHEER ME UP.

Bec turns on the radio.

A radio announcer says, BREAKING NEWS, ARTIST SALVADOR DA-LEAF HAS TAKEN THE ART WORLD BY STORM. WITH HIS DEBUTING PAINTING SET TO SELL FOR OVER £8 MILLION.

Bec mouths, “8 million.”

The radio announcer says, CRITICS ARE IN AWE OF HIS ORIGINAL WORK.

[Dramatic music plays]

Bec wails, NOOOOOO!

Bec looks at the torn-up painting.

Bec says, WELL, AT LEAST I'VE TAUGHT HIM EVERYTHING HE KNOWS.

[Sad music plays]

Bec says, I'M PROUD OF YOU, SALVADOR. WHEREVER YOU ARE.

[Phone ringing]

Bec says, THE BANANA PHONE!

[Beeping]

Bec grabs the banana phone off the Mega Mini Make table and answers a call.

Bec says, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!

On the other end of the call, in a forest, a girl with long, blond hair in a ponytail wears a pink cardigan over a yellow T-shirt.

The blond-haired girl says, HI BEC, MY NAME'S NORA. CAN YOU PLEASE DELIVER AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY LEADER JANET?

Bec says, SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT CHALLENGE!

Bec ends the call.

[Beeping]

Bec says, MAYBE I COULD PUT MY GREEN FINGERS TO USE. TIME TO SPLIT!

Bec puts down the phone and leaves.

[Whooshing]

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.

[Whooshing]

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

In her Makeaway Takeaway visor, Bec jumps in front of an outdoor sign that reads, “Welcome to the New Forest National Park.” In a field, horses graze.

Bec narrates, I'M IN THE NEW FOREST! LOOK AT ALL THE PONIES!

In the field, Bec looks around. She glances at a horse behind her and grins. Nora stands with a brown-haired boy, a brown-haired girl, and a grey-haired woman with glasses. Nora and the brown-haired children stand at a bench of flowers. They each hold a flower bouquet.

The grey-haired woman says, WE'RE HAVING A PRACTICE AT MAKING A BOUQUET. SO MAKING IT REALLY INTERESTING, TRYING SOME DIFFERENT SHAPES AND COLOURS.

The brown-haired girl adds a flower to her bouquet.

The grey-haired woman says, I THINK WE'VE GOT SOME BUDDING FLORISTS HERE, DEFINITELY.

Elsewhere in the park, Nora and the brown-haired children sit on a half-wall.

Nora asks, WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE FLOWER?

The brown-haired girl says, I LIKE THE DAISIES.

Bec runs up to the three children.

Bec says, HELLO!

The three children say, HI!

Bec says, NOW, YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO MAKE AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR JANET?

The three children nod and say, YEAH.

Bec says, OKAY, AND WHY JANET?

Nora says, BECAUSE SHE ALWAYS HELPS OTHER PEOPLE, AND I THINK SHE DESERVES SOMETHING GIVEN TO HER.

The brown-haired girl says, SHE HELPS OUT AT SCHOOL.

Bec says, THAT'S NICE. AND WHAT JOB DOES JANET DO WHEN SHE ISN'T HELPING OTHERS?

Nora says, SHE'S A FLORIST.

Bec says, OOH, A FLORIST.

Bec looks thoughtful.

Bec says, AH. THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA THAT'S PERFECT FOR SOMEONE WITH GREEN FINGERS.

Bec wiggles her fingers and leaves.

[Upbeat music plays]

Wearing gardening gloves, Bec looks around long, leafy branches on a plant growing around a metal frame. Bec purses her lips and then grins. She holds a branch over her nose like a mustache and ties it to the metal frame with a wire. Nora and the brown-haired girl run through the forest and collect fallen branches covered with leaves. Bec trims a wire with pliers.

[Upbeat music continues]

The brown-haired boy meets Nora and the brown-haired girl with a wheelbarrow. Nora and the brown-haired girl put their branches in the wheelbarrow. Bec tightens branches against the wire frame, and a figure begins to take shape. The brown-haired boy delivers the wheelbarrow of branches to Bec.

The brown-hired boy asks, IS THIS GOOD?

Bec says, YEAH, THANK YOU!

Bec grabs a branch. She flattens vines on top of the figure and ties more branches to the metal frame with wire. Bec trims the top of the figure with hedge shears.

[Shears snipping]

Leaves and hedge trimmings rain down on Nora and the brown-haired children. The children smile. Bec works on the head of the figure, a tall four-legged animal.

[Birds chirping]

Nora and the brown-haired children dig holes with shovels. They plant the back legs of the animal in the ground. Bec stands on a ladder and ties a branch over the head of the four-legged animal, a horse, to the frame. She trims the wire with her pliers. On benches, Nora and the brown-haired children make colourful flower bouquets. Nora places a white gerbera daisy in the horse’s head as an eye. Nora and the brown-haired children carry a garland made of flowers.

The brown-haired boy says, HERE YOU GO, BEC.

Bec says, OH WOW, THANK YOU. THIS IS GORGEOUS!

Bec hangs the garland over the horse’s neck and steps back.

Bec says, THAT LOOKS JUST ABOUT DONE.

Bec turns to the children and asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The brown-haired boy says, LOOKS REALLY GOOD.

Nora says, I THINK SHE'LL LOVE IT.

Bec says, I THINK SO, TOO. SHALL WE GET JANET?

All three children cheer, YEAH!

Bec says, ALL RIGHT, GO GET HER!

The three children turn and run away.

[Paint splattering]

Later in the park, Nora and the brown-haired girl lead Janet toward the horse. Janet, the grey-haired woman, walks between them with her hands over her eyes. The brown-haired boy walks beside Nora.

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

Bec stands beside the horse with a group of children. Nora and the brown-haired girl step away from Janet.

Nora says, TAKE A LOOK.

Janet lowers her hands and says, WOW!

The sun shines brightly on the finished creation. The flower garland hangs around the horse’s neck like a necklace, and the horse’s feet are planted in the ground. Leaves and branches are tied down around the metal frame that shapes the horse, and the horse’s head is tilted.

Janet says, WELL DONE, IT'S WONDERFUL!

A bee crawls around the horse’s snout.

[Birds chirping]

Janet says, AND I'LL BE ABLE TO SEE THIS EVERY DAY. THANK YOU! REALLY THANK YOU!

Nora says, THANK YOU, YOU'RE AMAZING. EVERYTHING YOU DO HELPS THE COMMUNITY SO MUCH.

[Everyone cheering]

Janet puts her arm around Nora and smiles.

Bec says, THAT'S ANOTHER BRILLIANT DAY OF DELIVERING ART TO YOUR DOOR. SEE YOU NEXT TIME ON...

Everyone throws their hands up and cheers, …MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
