[Energetic music plays]
[Whistling]
In the Makeaway Takeaway restaurant, different craft supplies fill fridges, cover countertops, and menus, including bottles of paint, scissors, sponges, ribbon and a box of paintbrushes and pens. Host Bec Hill dances in a jester’s costume. Bec wears her long, curly pink hair in a high ponytail. In her Makeaway Takeaway uniform, she wears a yellow polo shirt with a light blue collar, and a dark blue apron skirt with suspenders over light blue shorts. Children dance. Plates of cups, paint, sunglasses, balled up paper, and straws move on a conveyor belt. Bec holds a colander over her head. She blows bubbles into a bowl. Bec announces the title.
Bec says, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
[Doorbell ringing]
[Cheerful, upbeat music plays]
At Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands behind the front counter with her hand cupped behind her ear and furrows her brow.
[Squeaking]
[Bec shushing]
Bec looks around and then smiles.
Bec says, HELLO. SORRY ABOUT THAT. I'M BEC. WELCOME TO MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
[Squeaking]
[Bec shushing]
Bec says, THERE IT IS AGAIN. THERE'S SOMETHING SQUEAKING IN THE TAKEAWAY, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, WHILE I FIND THE SECRET SQUEAKER, HERE'S TODAY'S MENU!
Bec looks around the takeaway.
[Squeaking]
[Upbeat music plays]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec narrates, COMING UP ON TODAY'S SHOW, I'VE GOT A TECHNIQUE THAT'LL GET YOUR CREATIVITY BUBBLING. I GET A CALL FROM SOME CUSTOMERS THAT NEED SOME HELP TIDYING THEIR MESSY ROOM, AND WE DELIVER A SCHOOL NURSE A SPECTACULAR SENSORY SURPRISE.
Bec draws bubbles. An older black-haired girl and a younger black-haired girl pick up clothes from their bedroom floor. A brown-haired woman with glasses measures the height of a student.

Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
Behind the front counter, Bec looks around one of the craft supply fridges.
Bec says, I FOUND THE SECRET SQUEAKER!
Bec opens and closes the fridge door.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, IT'S EASY ENOUGH TO FIX. I JUST NEED SOME...
Bec looks around under the counter.
Bec says, AH-HA! ANTI-SQUEAK OIL. GIVE IT A LITTLE SPRAY.
Bec pulls out an aerosol can and sprays a hinge on the fridge door.
[Spiritizing]
Bec opens and closes the door.
Bec says, THERE WE GO! MARVELOUS STUFF, THIS. IN FACT, IT GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR…
[Exciting music plays]
Bec spreads her arms and cheers, …A TAKEAWAY TECHNIQUE!
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
[Chill music plays]
Bec takes a seat at the lunch table, where a large piece of light blue paper lies with various craft supplies. The craft supplies include rolls of tape, a bottle of baby oil, coloured pencils and paintbrushes.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU A BABY OIL BLENDING TECHNIQUE TO MAKE A BUBBLE PICTURE. I'M STARTING WITH A ROLL OF TAPE AS MY STENCIL. GOT A LITTLE POP OF BABY OIL HERE, AND A PAINT BRUSH. AND JUST PAINT THE BABY OIL IN THE CENTRE. I'M USING BLUE PAPER TO MAKE BLUE BUBBLES.
Inside a larger roll of green tape, Bec paints baby oil onto the light blue paper.
Bec says, THERE WE GO. NEXT, YOU'LL NEED SOME COLOURING PENCILS. PICK A COLOUR, AND THEN DO A CRESCENT SHAPE AROUND ONE SIDE.
Bec draws a crescent shape onto one side of the baby oil circle with a blue coloured pencil.
Bec says, NOW, I'M USING MY FINGER TO BLEND IT IN.
Bec rubs the blue coloured pencil lines with her finger and blends them.
Bec says, DON'T WORRY IF THE OIL RUNS. IT MAKES IT MORE BUBBLE-LIKE. I'M GOING TO USE ANOTHER COLOUR TO DO THE OTHER SIDE.
Bec draws a crescent shape onto the opposite side with a purple coloured pencil and blends the lines with her finger.
Bec says, BLEND IT AGAIN, AND THEN I'M GOING TO BLEND THE TWO COLOURS INTO EACH OTHER. NEXT, I'LL DRAW A SMALLER BUBBLE.
[Gentle music plays]
Bec paints a smaller baby oil bubble onto the paper using a smaller roll of blue tape.
Bec says, GO SOME RED AND GREEN.
Bec draws red and green crescent shapes on opposite sides of the smaller bubble and blends them with her finger.
Bec says, ANY DRIPS YOU CAN JUST TURN INTO SMALLER BUBBLES.
Bec paints tiny bubbles.
Bec says, I'M USING TWO COLOURS ON MY BUBBLES. YOU COULD USE ANY COLOURS YOU LIKE.
Bec draws a purple crescent shape onto a smaller bubble connected to a larger bubble. She blends the last colours on her multiple bubble artwork.
Bec says, NOW, TO ADD A WHITE OUTLINE. WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE TAPE THAT I USED AS A STENCIL AND USING A WHITE PEN. PLACING IT OVER THE FIRST BUBBLE, AND JUST TRACING AROUND ON THE INSIDE.
Bec places the larger green roll of tape over a larger bubble. She traces the bubble with a white pen using the inside of the roll.
Bec says, ADD A COUPLE OF DETAILS.
Bec sets the tape aside and adds tiny star drawings between small crescent shapes on the circle, making it look more like a bubble.
Bec says, AND DO IT ON THE OTHERS.
Bec adds more white details to other bubbles in the picture.
[Paint splattering]
Bec works on a smaller bubble in the picture.
Bec says, JUST PUTTING THE FINAL FEW DETAILS ON HERE, AND THERE IS A BUBBLE PICTURE MADE USING A BABY OIL BLENDING TECHNIQUE.
In animation, a picture frame appears around the bubble baby oil art and sparkles.
[Paint splattering]
Behind the takeaway front counter, Bec looks disappointed.
Bec says, SO, THE SQUEAKING NOISE CAME BACK, WHICH MEANS IT WASN'T THE FRIDGE.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, I GUESS IT COULD BE COMING FROM MY AMAZING COLLECTION OF BALLOON ANIMALS. I THINK THE ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF THE SQUEAK IS TO POP 'TIL IT STOPS.
Bec glances at her balloon animal collection on the counter, which includes a blue swan, an orange butterfly, and a yellow dog. She pulls a pencil out of her hair and pops the balloons.
[Popping]
[Bec yelping]
[Bec groaning]
Bec wipes her forehead.
[Bec sighing]
Bec says, THANK GOODNESS THAT'S OVER.
[Notification alert dinging]
An order ticket prints from the Makeaway Takeaway order screen.
[Printer whirring]
Bec says, AND JUST IN TIME FOR A CUSTOMER!
[Upbeat music plays]
Bec runs over to the order screen and watches a video of the two black-haired girls on the order ticket. The older black-haired girl wears an orange T-shirt, and the younger black-haired girl wears a peach-coloured sweater.
Both black-haired girls say, HELLO, MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY. BEC, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The older black-haired girl says, MY SISTER AND I ARE ALWAYS GETTING TOLD TO TIDY OUR ROOMS, BECAUSE WE LEAVE OUR CLOTHES EVERYWHERE.
Both black-haired girls ask, CAN YOU HELP US?
Bec says, SO, IT'S A MESS. WELL, I CAN THINK OF SOMETHING NEAT. ONE ARTY DELIVERY COMING RIGHT UP!
[Energetic music plays]
In a comic book panel, Bec ties the laces on her pink sneakers and straightens her socks. She snaps her suspenders and puts on a Makeaway Takeaway visor. Bec puts on a craft tool belt which carries a paint roller, pen, scissors and other craft supplies. She straightens the collar of her shirt, winks, and gives a thumbs-up.
Bec says, LET'S DO THIS!
Bec takes off running.
[Whooshing]
[Light, cheerful music plays]
In a backyard, the older black-haired girl stands back to back with the younger black-haired girl and they both grin.
The older black-haired girl narrates, HI, MY NAME IS MALAYSIA, AND THIS IS MY LITTLE SISTER, MIAMI.
Malaysia and Miami dance.
Malaysia narrates, WE LOVE TO HANG OUT, MAKE UP DANCE ROUTINES, AND HAVE FUN.
In Malaysia and Miami’s bedroom, Malaysia opens the closet and clothes fall out.
Malaysia narrates, OUR ROOM IS ALWAYS MESSY. CAN YOU HELP US CLEAN UP OUR ACT?
Clothes cover the floor. On the bed, Miami drops a pair of leggings onto a pile of clothes.
[Doorbell ringing]
Malaysia appears from under the pile of clothes and knocks them onto the floor.
Malaysia says, SHE'S HERE!
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
In a craft room, Bec joins Malaysia and Miami. The two sisters wear blue Makeaway Takeaway aprons and stand at a table with craft supplies laid out that include large sheets of cardboard, plastic plates and bowls, balls of wool, containers of paint, and cups of coloured pencils and pens.
Bec says, HI, MALAYSIA. HI, MIAMI.
Malaysia and Miami say, HI!
Bec asks, HOW CAN I HELP?
Malaysia says, WE NEED HELP WITH OUR CLOTHES.
Bec says, AH, I SEE. MESSY ROOM, PROBLEM?
Malaysia and Miami nod and say, YEAH.
Bec says, MMM. WELL, I'VE GOT A THING FOR YOU. WE'RE GOING TO MAKE A LAUNDRY LION.
[Fanfare plays]
A cardboard wool lion is shown.
[People cheering]
[Paint splattering]
At the craft table, Malaysia asks, WHAT'S A LAUNDRY LION?
Bec says, WELL, LET ME SHOW YOU. FIRST, I'M GOING TO DRAW A MANE, AND WHILE I DO THAT, I'M GOING TO GET YOU TO TRACE AROUND THOSE PLATES AND BOWLS. OKAY.
[Gentle, cheerful music plays]
Bec draws a lion’s mane onto a large sheet of cardboard. Malaysia and Miami trace different-sized bowls onto another sheet of cardboard using black markers. Bec glances at their work.
Bec says, GOOD TRACING THERE.
Malaysia says, THANK YOU.
Bec says, AND I'M GOING TO GET YOU TO TRACE AROUND THESE PLASTIC LIDS THAT I FOUND IN THE RECYCLING.
Malaysia and Miami trace clear, circular plastic lids onto their cardboard.
Bec says, GREAT, THAT'S ALL DONE, AND NOW WE'LL CUT IT OUT.
Malaysia grabs a pair of scissors.
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
Later at the craft table, the cardboard lion’s mane and different-sized circles lie on the table among other cardboard cut-out shapes.
Bec says, THAT'S SOME GOOD CUTTING WORK THERE. I'VE ALSO CUT OUT SOME EXTRA BITS USING THE SCRAPS. I'VE MADE SOME EARS AND SOME SHARP TEETH, BUT WE'RE GOING TO STICK THEM ON LATER. FIRST, WE'RE GOING TO PUT TOGETHER OUR LION'S FACE. I'VE GOT SOME STRONG GLUE HERE.
Bec squeezes glue onto a large cardboard circle.
[Bec making a squelching sound]
Bec says, IF IT DOESN'T MAKE THE NOISE, I DO THE NOISE FOR IT.
[Malaysia and Miami giggling]
Miami places the large cardboard circle onto the lion’s mane.
Bec says, LET'S START WITH THE MOUTH. THE TOP OF THE HEAD. CHEEKS. NOSE. AND EYES. WE'RE GOING TO LET IT DRY.
Malaysia glues the bottom half of a medium-sized circle onto the top of the large circle, so half is on the large circle and half is on the mane. Malaysia and Bec glue the tops of two small circles onto the bottom of the medium-sized circles. Bec adds her one-quarter circle piece between the two small circles. Malaysia and Miami place the two smallest circles onto the medium-sized circles as eyes.
[Whooshing]
Later at the craft table, Bec says, THE GLUE'S ALL DRIED. WE'RE GOING TO STICK A BIG PIECE OF WOOL ON THE BACK SO WE CAN HANG UP YOUR LAUNDRY LION ONCE IT'S DONE.
On the back of the lion, Bec tapes one end of a long piece of yellow wool toward the side.
Bec says, POP THAT DOWN.
Miami tapes the other end of the wool toward the other side of the mane.
Bec says, LOVELY. YOU KNOW WHAT WE GET TO DO NOW?
Malaysia and Miami say, PAINT IT!
Bec says, THAT'S RIGHT! WE'RE GOING TO PAINT!
[Gentle, upbeat music plays]
Malaysia and Miami begin painting the lion’s mane yellow. Bec starts painting the lion’s mouth pink.
Bec asks, WHICH ONE'S THE MESSIEST OUT OF THE TWO OF YOU?
Malaysia says, OH, MIAMI.
Miami says, MALAYSIA.
Bec says, OH, I SEE. IT'S ON.
[Malaysia chuckling]
Miami paints around the lion’s eyes yellow. Bec paints the lion’s nose black.
Bec says, WE'RE GOING TO KEEP PAINTING AND THEN WE'LL LEAVE IT TO DRY.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the craft table, Bec says, THE PAINT'S DRY, AND I'VE PAINTED ALL THE OTHER BITS, INCLUDING THIS STRIP OF CARD.
Bec holds up a long strip of cardboard with small strips of cardboard on the ends, sticking upward.
Bec says, I'VE ADDED ANOTHER STRIP OF CARD AT THE END. YOU'LL SEE WHY LATER. I'M MARKING A GAP ON EITHER SIDE.
[Gentle music plays]
Bec places the cardboard strip across the lion’s mouth. She traces the top and bottom of the lion on either side of its mouth.
Bec says, THIS LION NEEDS A MANE, DOESN'T IT?
Malaysia and Miami say, YEAH.
Bec says, IT'S TIME TO ADD SOME WOOL. MIAMI, YOU'VE GOT SOME GLUE. MALAYSIA, YOU'VE GOT SOME WOOL. I PUT SOME DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE ON THIS, BUT YOU CAN ALSO USE STRONG GLUE. I'VE GOT SOME LOVELY BITS OF SCRAP WOOL HERE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE YELLOW. YOU COULD USE ANY COLOURS YOU LIKE. I'M GOING TO WORK MY WAY ALONG THE STRIP WHILE YOU GIRLS CONTINUE TO STICK WOOL TO THE LION'S MANE.
Bec strips the cover on the double-sided tape on the cardboard strip. She holds the ends of some yellow scrap wool and sticks the middle onto the strip. Under the lion’s mouth, Miami paints glue onto the mane and Malaysia sticks on pieces of orange and yellow scrap wool.
Bec says, KEEP GOING UNTIL YOUR LION AND STRIP ARE COVERED.
[Paint splattering]
Later at the craft table, orange and yellow wool decorate the cardboard strip and the lion’s mane. The marked strip on the mane remains bare. Bec trims the ends of the wool around the mane with a pair of scissors.
Bec says, I'M JUST TRIMMING OFF THE LAST BITS.
[Upbeat, cheerful music plays]
[Scissors snipping]
Bec says, THERE WE GO, AND I'VE STUCK SOME TEETH ONTO THE STRIP, BECAUSE THIS IS OUR LION'S MOUTH.
Bec holds up the cardboard strip, revealing two large, pointed pieces of cardboard as lion’s teeth.
Bec says, WE'RE GOING TO STICK THIS ONTO THE LION. I'M ADDING SOME STRONG GLUE TO THOSE GAPS WE LEFT EARLIER. WE'RE GOING TO STICK THE STRIP IN THOSE GAPS.
Bec squeezes glue onto the bare spots on the lion’s mane. On the cardboard strip, she spreads the small pieces of cardboard onto one end of the bare spot.
Bec says, YOU LIKE THAT? SO, MALAYSIA, CAN YOU HOLD THAT DOWN?
Malaysia holds the pieces in place with the glue.
Bec says, AND I’LL STICK THIS ONE DOWN. YOU CAN SEE THE STRIP HAS FORMED A HOOP.
Bec holds the other end of the cardboard strip down on the other bare spot of the lion’s mane, making a hoop.
Bec says, I'VE GOT SOME CLOTHES PEGS, WHICH I'M USING TO HOLD THAT DOWN, AND YOU CAN PUT THAT ONE ON FOR ME.
Bec and Malaysia clip clothespins onto the mane and the cardboard strip hoop.
Bec says, THANK YOU, AND WE'LL LEAVE IT TO DRY!
[Whooshing]
Later at the craft table, Bec presses a yellow animal ear-shaped piece of cardboard onto the lion’s mane above the lion’s head as an ear. A black circle in the small circle above the lion’s nose makes the circle an eye. A plastic lid covers it.
Bec says, STUCK ON SOME FINAL BITS, LIKE THE EARS AND THE TEETH, AND I'VE ADDED BLACK OUTLINE DETAIL. I'M GOING TO ADD SOME DOTS FOR THE WHISKERS.
Other cardboard teeth stick out from under the lion’s circular cheeks. Bec adds dots to the cheeks with a black marker.
Bec says, I'LL SHOW YOU HOW WE MAKE THE GOOGLY EYE. FIRST, WE'VE GOT A PUPIL, WHICH I MADE OUT OF CARD AND PAINTED BLACK, AND I'LL USE THE PLASTIC LID FROM EARLIER TO STICK ON TOP. AND USING THE STRONG GLUE, I'M GOING TO GO AROUND THE EDGE OF THE EYE, GLUING THE LID DOWN.
Bec places a black cardboard circle in the second eye and glues the second plastic lid over it.
Bec says, LET'S SEE THESE GOOGLY EYES.
Bec holds up the finished lion’s mane hoop. She shakes the lion, and the cardboard googly eyes move around in the lids.
Bec says, OOH! SHOULD WE TRY IT OUT?
Malaysia and Miami say, YEAH.
Bec says, OKAY. GRAB YOUR LAUNDRY.
Bec takes a step back and holds the lion in front of her. Malaysia and Miami grab balled-up socks.
[Drumroll]
Miami throws her balled-up socks through the hoop.
Bec says, OH, NICE ONE!
Malaysia throws her balled-up socks through the hoop.
Bec cheers, HEY!
Malaysia grins.
Bec says, AND THAT'S YOUR LAUNDRY LION.
Miami says, THAT'S COOL.
Malaysia says, THAT'S REALLY EASY.
[Paint splattering]
[Gentle, upbeat music plays]
In the bedroom, Malaysia sits on the bed with Miami. The laundry lion hoop hangs on the wall above a laundry basket. Miami throws a sock through the hoop and into the basket.
[Miami giggling]
Malaysia throws laundry through the hoop and into the basket.
Bec narrates, THEY'RE A MESSY FAMILY. SO, NOW THEY'VE GOT CREATURES ALL OVER THE HOUSE TO HELP THEM KEEP TIDY.
Beside the window, a unicorn hoop with purple, pink and blue wool hangs on the wall. At a desk, a black-haired woman throws a balled-up paper into a horned monster hoop and into a garbage basket.
In the bedroom, Malaysia says, THANKS, BEC. WE LOVE OUR LAUNDRY LION.
Miami says, NOW, TIDYING UP OUR CLOTHES IS REALLY FUN!
Back at Makeaway Takeaway, Bec stands by the back counter with Malaysia and Miami’s order ticket.
Bec says, MORE HAPPY CUSTOMERS.
Bec places the order ticket in a tray on the counter.
[Register dinging]
[Gentle instrumental music plays]
Bec steps behind the front counter.
[Squeaking]
Bec groans, AW, SERIOUSLY?! I FIXED THE FRIDGE, I POPPED ALL MY BALLOON ANIMALS, AND THERE'S STILL A SQUEAK?
Bec leans forward and back.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, MUST BE ONE OF THESE FLOOR TILES.
Bec rips a blue floor tile off the floor.
[Bec grunting]
[Bec sighing]
Bec says, THAT'S BETTER.
Bec steps toward the counter.
[Squeaking]
Bec frowns and says, OH, MAYBE IT'S ONE OF THE OTHER ONES.
Bec crouches behind the counter and throws floor tiles over her shoulder. She jumps to her feet and dusts off her hands on the skirt of her apron.
[Bec sighing]
Bec nods and says, I THINK THAT'S FIXED IT.
Bec falls so her chest is level with the counter.
Bec says, OH, NOW THERE'S A MASSIVE HOLE IN THE FLOOR. UH, I'LL FIX IT LATER. TIME FOR SOME PAPER PUPPETRY.
Bec pulls herself out from behind the counter.
[Bec grunting]
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
[Light, flute music plays]
Bec stands beside a large notepad with levers sticking out of one side. It features a drawing of a cockatoo with its head feathers down, perched on a branch. The cockatoo wears a black shirt with holes in it, a studded belt, and a spiked collar. Bec pulls a lever and the cockatoo’s head feathers rise, revealing an orange feather, a red feather, a purple feather and a blue feather.
[Light flute music continues]
Bec grins and flips a page with a cutout for the bird’s upper body onto the drawing. A drawing on the page puts the bird behind a drum set. Bec raises and lowers a lever. Paper wings holding drumsticks rise and lower over the drums, so it looks like the bird is playing the drums. Bec nods her head.
[Rock music plays]
[Whooshing]
At the takeaway, Bec sits at the lunch table and rests her chin on her hand.
[Bec sighing]
[Squeaking]
Bec says, WASN'T THE OLD TILES EITHER.
[Squeaking]
Bec looks around. She stands and throws her hands in the air. She wears shiny gold sneakers.
[Intense rock music briefly plays]
Bec shouts, I CAN'T WORK LIKE THIS!
[Bec sighing]
Bec says, MAYBE I SHOULD ASK THAT WINDOW CLEANER. OF COURSE! IT'S THE WINDOW CLEANER! I'LL JUST SEE IF THEY CAN SQUEEGEE A LITTLE QUIETER.
Bec leaves the takeaway.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, EXCUSE ME –
[Bubbling]
[Bec blubbering]
Bec backs into the takeaway with soapy bubbles in her hair.
[Squeaking]
Bec says, AH, YEAH. UH, PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE WAITED FOR THEM TO FINISH CLEANING THE WINDOW BEFORE I OPENED IT.
Bec pulls bubbles off her hair and frowns.
Bec says, IT'S BUBBLES EVERYWHERE TODAY, WHICH GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR A MEGA MINI MAKE!
Bec turns toward the Mega Mini Make table.
[Squeaking]
[Paint splattering]
[Gentle music plays]
Bec takes a seat at the Mega Mini Make table where craft supplies are laid out, including a plastic bottle, glue, tape, scissors, a large bowl, a black and white striped sock and a bottle of dish soap.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A UNICORN BUBBLE BLOWER. I'M STARTING BY CUTTING THE TOP OF A RECYCLED BOTTLE. I'M GOING TO PUSH MY SCISSORS THROUGH THE CENTRE OF THE BOTTLE. MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP WITH THIS BIT. AND THEN CUTTING AROUND THE EDGE. BE CAREFUL, 'CAUSE THE EDGES CAN GET A LITTLE BIT SHARP.
Bec pushes the tip of her scissors through the middle of the plastic bottle. She cuts along the edge and slices it in half.
Bec says, NEXT, I'M GOING TO TAKE AN OLD SOCK - I LOST THE OTHER ONE OF THESE - AND CUT IT OFF AT THE HEEL.
Bec cuts the striped sock off at the heel and sets the scissors aside.
Bec says, THERE YOU GO. THEN TAKE THE SOCK AND PUT IT OVER THE END OF THE BOTTLE. PULL IT UP SO IT'S NICE AND TIGHT. THE PATTERN ON MY SOCK MAKES IT LOOK LIKE A STRIPEY UNICORN, A BIT LIKE A ZEBRA.
Bec stretches the toe end of the sock tight over the open end of the top half of the bottle.
[Gentle, cheerful music plays]
Bec says, I'M GOING TO GIVE IT SOME EYES, AND I MADE A UNICORN HORN BY FOLDING SOME YELLOW CARD INTO A CONE, AND I ADDED SOME TABS ON THE BOTTOM, WHICH I'M GOING TO ATTACH WITH STRONG GLUE.
Bec sticks googly eyes onto the craft closer to the mouthpiece and adds her yellow card unicorn horn slightly above them.
Bec says, THERE'S THE UNICORN, BUT TO TURN IT INTO A BUBBLE BLOWER, I NEED TO TAKE THE LID OFF THE BOTTLE, A BOWL OF WATER, AND ADD SOME WASHING UP LIQUID. I'M USING PLENTY, BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE A LOT OF BUBBLES.
Bec takes the lid off the bottle and squeezes dish soap into the large bowl. A small amount of water sloshes in the bottom of the bowl.
Bec says, READY?
Bec dips the open end of her unicorn into the soap and water mixture and soaks the sock with it.
Bec says, GET IN. HERE WE GO.
Bec takes the unicorn out of the bowl and blows through the bottle mouthpiece. Bubbles spill out through the sock and into the bowl.
Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR UNICORN BUBBLE BLOWER.
Bec smiles and blows more bubbles with the unicorn bubble blower.
[Paint splattering]
Later in the takeaway, Bec stands behind the lunch table wearing headphones.
[Soothing music plays]
[Bec sighing]
Bec says, THAT'S BETTER.
Bec steps away from the lunch table.
[Squeaking]
Bec frowns and rips off her headphones.
[Bec shouting angrily]
Bec says, THAT SECRET SQUEAKER IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL!
[Dinging]
Bec slaps her forehead and says, DUH, THE WALL! MUST BE THE LITTLE MOUSE!
Bec drops onto her hands and knees and crawls toward a tiny door in the wall with a doorbell, a dry potted plant and a watering can. She knocks on the door with her knuckle.
[Knocking]
Bec says, HELLO? LITTLE MOUSE.
[Doorbell ringing]
Bec says, IT'S YOUR NEIGHBOUR, BEC. OH, NO. SHE CAN'T BE THE SECRET SQUEAKER. I FORGOT. SHE'S ON HOLIDAY. OH, NO. I WAS MEANT TO WATER HER POT PLANT!
[Notification alert dinging]
A bell icon appears on the Makeway Takeaway order screen.
Bec says, A CUSTOMER!
[Light, cheerful music plays]
Bec stands. On the order screen, a boy with short black hair wears a light blue T-shirt.
The black-haired boy says, IT'S THE MAKE OF THE DAY!
Bec runs behind the front counter and stands beside the Make of the Day conveyor belt.
The black-haired boy says, HI. I'M JESSE AND I'M FROM BIRMINGHAM.
Bec says, HI, JESSE!
Jesse asks, WHAT CAN YOU MAKE OUT OF THESE THREE INGREDIENTS? A SPONGE, A CLOCK MECHANISM, AND A CEREAL BOX.
The conveyor belt delivers the Make of the Day ingredients to Bec on plates.
Bec says, AH, OKAY, JESSE. LET'S FIND OUT A BIT MORE ABOUT YOU. WHAT'S ONE THING YOU'D LIKE TO GET BETTER AT?
Jesse says, I'M NOT VERY GOOD AT TELLING THE TIME. I WISH I HAD SOMETHING THAT WOULD HELP ME GET BETTER.
Bec says, WELL, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA FOR SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP YOU TELL THE TIME AND BE FUN TO LOOK AT. ONE MAKE OF THE DAY, COMING RIGHT UP!
Bec steps behind the front counter with the Make of the Day ingredients laid out with other craft supplies, including a large sheet of cardboard, sheets of brown card paper, a container of brown paint, scissors, a marker, glue, a ruler, paint, and paintbrushes.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO MAKE A CANDY CLOCK WITH JESSE'S INGREDIENTS.
[Paint splattering]
A gingerbread house clock is displayed with candy decorations, including lollipops and candy canes.
[Fanfare plays]
[Cheering and applause]
[Paint splattering]
[Chill music plays]
Behind the front counter, Bec says, I'M STARTING WITH A LARGE PIECE OF RECYCLED CARD. NOW, THIS IS CORRUGATED CARD, SO, I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT THE LINES ARE GOING HORIZONTALLY, 'CAUSE THAT WILL HELP ME WITH IT LATER. WE'RE TAKING JESSE'S FIRST INGREDIENT, THE CEREAL BOX, AND TRACING AROUND IT. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BASE OF THE CLOCK.
Bec traces the cereal box onto the cardboard sheet with a black marker.
Bec says, SO, NEXT, I'M GOING TO DRAW A GINGERBREAD HOUSE SHAPE. SO, I WANT IT TO BE WIDER THAN THE CEREAL BOX. MAKE SURE IT'S EQUAL ON BOTH SIDES.
Bec draws vertical lines on either side of the cereal box shape, roughly an inch away, using a ruler.
Bec says, I'M GOING TO DO SOME DIAGONAL LINES FOR THE ROOF.
Bec connects the top of the two vertical lines with diagonal lines above the cereal box shape, making a triangle.
Bec says, FOR THE BOTTOM, I'LL DO A NICE, WAVY LINE.
Bec connects the bottom of the two vertical lines with a curvy line.
Bec says, THERE WE ARE. I'VE ALSO GOT THESE TWO STRIPS OF CARD, WHICH ARE GOING TO BE THE ROOF OF THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. SO, I'VE MADE THEM SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN THESE DIAGONAL LINES SO THERE'S ROOM FOR SOME OVERHANG. FIRST, I'M GOING TO DRAW LINES ON EITHER SIDE THE WIDTH OF THE RULER.
On both sides of a smaller rectangular sheet of cardboard, Bec traces the width of the ruler.
Bec says, TO MAKE THE EAVE OF THE ROOF, I'M GOING TO DRAW A NICE, BUMPY LINE. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO UP TO THE OTHER LINE.
Bec draws a bumpy line within the ruler shape on the smaller sheet.
Bec says, WE'RE GOING TO DO THE SAME ON THIS PIECE AND THEN CUT THEM ALL OUT.
Bec places her hand on a second, smaller sheet of cardboard.
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
Later, behind the front counter, the clock and roof eaves lie cut out on the counter.
Bec says, I'VE CUT OUT ALL THE PIECES AND ADDED THREE HOLES HERE. TWO TO HANG UP THE CLOCK WITH SOME WOOL AND YOU'LL FIND OUT WHAT THE THIRD ONE'S FOR LATER.
Bec pulls on a piece of pink wool woven through two small, side-by-side holes near the top of the clock triangle. A single small hole is below them.
[Gentle music plays]
Bec says, NEXT, I'M GOING TO FOLD THE BASE. SEE HOW MUCH EASIER THAT IS WHEN YOU FOLD ALONG THE CORRUGATED LINE? AND THEN FOLDING THIS WAVY PATTERN BIT DOWN AS WELL TO MAKE A SHELF.
Bec folds the bottom of the cardboard sheet up along the bottom line of the cereal box. She then folds the sheet where the wavy line starts.
Bec says, I'VE ALSO FOLDED THE SIDES IN ON THE ROOF PIECES.
Bec holds up a smaller piece of cardboard, a cardboard roof piece, and bends the folded sides at the marked lines.
Bec says, I'VE CUT THE CORNERS OFF ALONG THE BACK EDGE. I'LL STICK THEM ON NOW.
Bec slides a roof piece with a corner cut off on an angle under the triangular clock piece.
Bec says, I'M USING DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE, BUT YOU COULD ALSO USE STRONG GLUE. BRING THEM IN. SIT THEM DOWN. THERE'S THE BASE. LET'S GET PAINTING.
Bec sticks the second roof piece onto the clock and presses both pieces together.
Bec says, I'M USING A DELICIOUS GINGERBREAD COLOUR. AND REMEMBER, NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT LOOKS, DON'T EAT IT!
Bec grabs the cereal box and starts painting it brown.
[Paint splattering]
Later, behind the front counter, Bec says, EVERYTHING'S PAINTED A DRIED. SO, IT'S TIME FOR JESSE'S SECOND-INGREDIENT, THE CLOCK MECHANISM. YOU CAN BUY THESE ONLINE, AND I'M JUST GOING TO PLACE IT ON THE CEREAL BOX AND TRACE AROUND IT. DOESN'T HAVE TO BE NEAT.
[Gentle, upbeat music plays]
Bec places the clock mechanism toward the top of the painted cereal box and traces around it with the black marker.
Bec says, THERE WE GO. TAKING SOME SCISSORS, WE'RE GOING TO POKE A HOLE IN THE CENTRE. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. AND THEN CUTTING DIAGONALLY TO THE CORNERS. YOU MIGHT WANT AN ADULT TO HELP.
Bec sets the clock mechanism aside. She pushes the tip of her scissors through the middle of the traced shape and cuts through the shape diagonally to all the corners.
Bec says, FOLD THESE IN. AND THAT HOLDS THE CLOCK NICE AND SNUGGLY.
Bec folds the triangular pieces cut diagonally into the box and places the clock mechanism in the hole.
Bec says, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO TAKE THE CLOCK IN AND OUT TO CHANGE THE BATTERY. I'VE MADE A CLOCK FACE THAT LOOKS LIKE A DONUT, ADDED SOME NUMBERS, AND SOME SPRINKLE DETAILS. I'LL ATTACH THE CLOCK. OKAY. THERE'S THE LITTLE HAND, THE BIG HAND, AND FINALLY, THE SECOND HAND.
On the countertop, Bec removes the clock hands from the clock mechanism and slides her donut clock face into place. She then reattaches the clock hands.
Bec says, THAT THEN SITS NICE AND SNUG IN THE BOX.
Bec puts the clock mechanism back in the cereal box.
Bec says, I'LL GLUE THE BOX TO THE BASE WITH SOME STRONG GLUE.
Bec raises the clock base and glues it to the bottom of the cereal box.
Bec says, LOVELY. WHILE I WAIT FOR THE GLUE TO DRY, I'M GOING TO MAKE SOME PUFFY PAINT, WHICH WILL ADD A BEAUTIFUL FROSTING EFFECT TO THE CANDY CLOCK. I'VE GOT ONE PART FLOUR AND ONE PART P.V.A.
Bec sets the clock aside and pours flour and P.V.A. glue into a large measuring cup bowl.
[Gentle, upbeat music continues]
Bec says, AW, STICKY. AND TWO PARTS SHAVING FOAM. THAT SHOULD DO.
Bec adds shaving foam to the bowl.
Bec says, THEN ADD SOME FOOD COLOURING TO GET IT TO THE SHADE YOU LIKE. YOU CAN USE ANY COLOUR. I'M USING BLUE.
Bec adds blue food colouring and mixes the ingredients with a spoon.
Bec says, I THINK THAT'S READY. I'M GOING TO PUT THIS INTO A SQUEEZY BOTTLE TO MAKE IT EASIER TO ICE THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE.
Bec pours the puff paint mixture into a squeeze bottle.
Bec says, THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH. PUT THE LID ON, AND THEN GIVE THE CLOCK SOME FROSTING.
Bec screws a lid onto the squeeze bottle and squeezes dots of puff paint around the clock face.
Bec says, AROUND THE NUMBERS. ADD SOME AROUND THE EAVES.
Bec traces the wavy curves in the eaves with puff paint.
Bec says, I'LL GIVE THE CLOCK A FEW MORE DETAILS, AND THEN I'LL LEAVE IT TO DRY.
[Paint splattering]
Later, behind the front counter, other candy details decorate the clock.
Bec says, THE PUFFY PAINT'S DRY, AND I'M JUST ADDING SOME FINAL DETAILS TO THE CLOCK, LIKE A LITTLE DOOR.
Bec presses a purple door with white stripes onto the cereal box under the clock face. Red and white pipe cleaner candy canes decorate the sides. Blue and purple pipe cleaner lolly pops on lolly sticks decorate the top corners.
Bec says, I'VE ALSO MADE CANDY CANES AND LOLLIPOPS BY COILING SOME PIPE CLEANERS AROUND AND STICKING THEM TO A LOLLY STICK. AND NOW I'M GOING TO USE JESSE'S THIRD INGREDIENT, THE SPONGE, TO MAKE ONE FINAL DECORATION.
Bec picks up a gingerbread figure sponge with googly eyes and buttons.
Bec says, I'VE MADE A LITTLE GINGERBREAD COOKIE, STUCK GOOGLY EYES ON, AND A COUPLE OF BUTTONS. YOU REMEMBER THAT THIRD HOLE FROM EARLIER? WELL, I'VE PUT A COILED PIPE CLEANER IN IT TO MAKE A SPRING FOR THE GINGERBREAD COOKIE.
Bec sticks the gingerbread figure sponge onto her pink, white and blue coiled spring pipe cleaner in the third hole above the cereal box. She presses down, and the gingerbread figure springs up.
[Upbeat, cheerful music plays]
Bec says, AND THERE IS YOUR CANDY CLOCK.
Bec holds up the finished candy clock. A pipe cleaner candy cane, and lolly pop hang from the clock on strings.
Bec says, WHILE I BAG THIS UP FOR JESSE, HERE'S SOME OTHER IDEAS.
Bec ducks behind the counter.
[Whooshing]
[Scissors snipping]
[Upbeat music plays]
A purple and orange cereal box clock features a spider web clock face and bat decorations.
Bec narrates, HOW ABOUT A HAUNTED HOUSE WITH A SPOOKY SPIDER WEB?
Another cereal box clock features circus decorations, including popcorn, cotton candy, and balloons.
Bec narrates, OR A SPECTACULAR CIRCUS WITH AN ACROBATIC CLOWN?
Under the circus clock, a clown hangs upside down on a trapeze bar. Back in the takeaway, Bec slides a takeout bag into the delivery hatch in the wall.
Bec says, HERE YOU GO, JESSE. YOUR CANDY CLOCK WILL BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE. ONE MAKE OF THE DAY, ON ITS WAY!
Bec presses a button beside the hatch, and the platform inside rises.
[Beeping]
[Paint splattering]
At Jesse’s house, Jesse takes the candy clock out of the takeout bag.
Jesse says, OH, MY GOSH. LOOK AT THE COLOUR, AND IT REALLY WORKS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS CLOCK, BEC! IT'LL REALLY HELP ME GET BETTER WITH THE TIME.
At the takeaway, Bec says, ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER.
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
At the lunch table, Bec waters the tiny, now-lush potted plant with the tiny watering can.
Bec says, MRS. MOUSE'S PLANT IS LOOKING BETTER. IT'S A SHAME I NEVER FOUND THE SECRET SQUEAKER. I WAS IN SUCH A GOOD MOOD! I EVEN WORE MY BRAND-NEW SHOES!
Bec raises her feet. The lights around her sparkly gold sneakers shine bright.
Bec says, COOL, HUH? I HAVEN'T EVEN WORN THEM OUT YET. I'M TRYING TO BREAK THEM IN FIRST.
[Phone ringing]
[Bec gasping]
Bec says, THE BANANA PHONE!
Bec runs across the takeaway toward the Mega Mini Make table.
[Squeaking]
Bec pauses halfway across the restaurant. She leans back and forth on her shoes.
[Squeaking]
[Magical music plays]
[Bec gasping]
Bec says, THE SQUEAKS WERE COMING FROM MY SHOES THE WHOLE TIME!
[Bec sighing]
Bec smiles and answers the banana phone.
[Beeping]
Bec says, HELLO. MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY.
Outside a school, a girl with bangs wearing her long brown hair in braided pigtails wears a light blue and white striped romper.
The brown-haired girl says, HI, BEC. MY NAME'S HARLEY. CAN YOU DELIVER AN ARTY SURPRISE FOR OUR SCHOOL NURSE, NICOLA, PLEASE?
Bec says, SHE SOUNDS GREAT! I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET HER!
Bec ends the call.
[Beeping]
Bec says, TIME TO SPLIT!
[Whooshing]
Title: Makeaway Takeaway.
[Whooshing]
[Magical music plays]
Outside the school, Bec tiptoes toward the entrance in her gold sneakers, wearing her Makeaway Takeaway visor and craft belt. Inside, she walks up to the front desk.
A receptionist waves and says, HI. COME THIS WAY.
The receptionist points to her right. In a classroom, Bec joins Harley, a boy with short black hair, and a boy with short blond hair and glasses.
Bec says, HEY, GUYS.
The three students say, HI, BEC!
Bec says, SO, WE'RE HELPING NURSE NICOLA TODAY, IS THAT RIGHT?
The three students nod and say, YEAH.
Bec asks, WHY IS THAT?
The blond-haired student says, SHE HELPS PEOPLE GET BETTER.
At the nurses’ station, the brown-haired woman with glasses, Nurse Nicola, measures the heights of the black-haired and blond-haired boys. She wears a black and blue patterned dress.
Bec says, THAT'S A VERY GOOD REASON TO HELP SOMEONE.
Harley says, BECAUSE SHE TAUGHT ME ABOUT ALLERGIES WHEN I WAS IN YEAR FIVE, AND I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH HER.
The black-haired student says, HER COOL!
Bec says, YEAH? NURSE NICOLA'S COOL? YOU'VE INSPIRED ME, AND I SENSE A VERY GOOD IDEA. COME ON.
Bec runs outside with the three students.
[Chairs scraping]
[Children laughing]
[Bright music plays]
Elsewhere in the school, Harley, the blond-haired boy, and the black-haired boy collect supplies, including gel sensory mats and tiles, and sequin fabric. In a sensory room, the blond-haired boy and Harley jump into a ball pit. The black-haired boy adds a fuzzy pink rug to the collection of sensory items on a table outside. Bec and Harley flip over purple sequin fabric.
[Birds chirping]
Bec says, PERFECT.
Bec and Harley give two thumbs up. Bec staples the purple sequin fabric onto a curved wooden board. She rubs her back and forth over the sequins. The blond-haired boy helps Bec lay fuzzy purple fabric over another wooden board.
Bec says, THANK YOU.
Bec staples the fuzzy purple fabric to the board. The black-haired boy and Harley place sensory toys in holes across the two wooden boards.
[Paint splattering]
[Cheerful music plays]
Later, outside, Bec makes an eye out of paper. She places a clear dome over the eye and drills it onto the board.
[Drill whirring]
Harley places circular sensory mats on the purple sequin board. Bec places different-coloured rings around them, and they dust off their hands. Bec and the blond-haired boy add a bead maze to the fuzzy pink board.
[Blond-haired boy squealing and clapping]
The black-haired boy pours different-coloured wooden rings onto a gel sensory mat. Bec presses a clear dome into place over the mat, and the boy spins it.
[Rings clattering]
Bec holds a large yellow board.
Bec says, BRING IT UP HERE, NEXT TO ME.
Harley and the black-haired boy carry the purple sequin board over to the yellow board. The black-haired boy gives a thumbs-up.
Bec says, OKAY, KEEP GOING, KEEP GOING. AND THEN IF YOU GUYS PUT IT DOWN, I'LL LINE THIS UP FOR YOU.
Bec, Harley and the blond-haired boy carry a black and purple sequin board with silicone sensory mats over to the yellow board.
Bec says, I THINK WE'RE DONE. WHAT DO YOU THINK, CAYAN?
Cayan, the black-haired boy, says, IT'S COOL!
Bec asks, WHAT ABOUT YOU, HARLEY?
Harley says, IT'S AMAZING.
Bec says, I THINK SO, TOO. SHALL WE SHOW NURSE NICOLA THIS SENSORY WALL?
Harley says, SURE!
Cayan says, YEAH!
Bec says, GREAT! GO GET HER!
Harley and Cayan take off running.
[Paint splattering]
[Gentle, upbeat music plays]
Later, outside, Harley, Cayan and the blond-haired boy lead Nurse Nicola toward the sensory wall with her eyes closed.
Harley says, TAKE A LOOK.
Nurse Nicola opens her eyes and looks at the sensory wall, which is shaped like an octopus.
Nurse Nicola says, MY GOODNESS. IT'S AMAZING! IT MUST HAVE TAKEN YOU AGES. LOOK AT ALL THE COLOURS AND ALL THE DIFFERENT MATERIAL YOU'VE USED.
Other sensory items on the wall include silver balls and a xylophone.
Nurse Nicola says, YOU ALL DID THIS?
Harley smiles.
Cayan and the blond-haired boy say, YEAH!
Nurse Nicola says, THAT'S AMAZING.
Harley says, THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AFTER US WHEN WE'RE POORLY.
Cayan says, I MAKE THIS FOR YOU.
Nurse Nicola says, AW, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Cayan feels the octopus’s squishy gel mouth. The blond-haired boy plays the xylophone.
[Xylophone plinking]
Harley feels different-textured silicone circles on a sequin tentacle. Bec draws with her finger in purple sequins and waves to her reflection in a colourful dome on a tentacle. She stands in front of the sensory wall.
Bec says, IT'S BEEN ANOTHER BRILLIANT DAY OF DELIVERING ART TO YOUR DOOR. SEE YOU NEXT TIME ON...
Everyone raises their arms and cheers, …MAKEAWAY TAKEAWAY!
Bec uses sign language. Sunlight shines on the sensory wall.

[Squeaking]

[Doorbell ringing]
