The opening sequence shows the Canadian flag atop the Parliament, a man playing hockey outdoors, a trout splashing off the water, a panorama of Toronto from Lake Ontario, a Mounted Policeman saluting and a view of cropped fields.

A title reads "My Canada."

A group of narrators say MY CANADA!

A kid giggles and says SWEET.

A teacher faces a classroom. He is balding and has short, black hair on the sides of his head. He wears a white shirt and a striped tie. He stands in front of a map of Canada, a chalkboard with a monument drawing, and a TV set.

The Teacher says HELLO, EVERYONE.
IN TODAY'S CLASS WE WILL BE
TAKING A LOOK INSIDE CANADA'S
PARLIAMENT BUILDING.
LET'S START THE VIDEO.

The teacher turns on the TV.

Leah is around 12, with brown hair tied-up. She wears a blue T-shirt over a white shirt.

Leah says HI, I'M LEAH, AND I AM
HERE IN THE PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS
IN OTTAWA, ONTARIO.
AND THIS IS MY CANADA.
TODAY I AM HANGING OUT WITH
JULIE WHO IS A TOUR GUIDE HERE
IN THE PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS.
SO JULIE WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME
ABOUT THE ROOM WE'RE IN RIGHT
NOW.

Julie is in her late twenties with shoulder-length wavy brown hair. She wears a blue jacket with buttons.

Julie says WELL, WE'RE CURRENTLY
IN A ROOM CALLED THE SENATE
FOYER.
AND THERE'S A LOT OF INTERESTING
REPRESENTATION WITHIN THIS ROOM
AS YOU'RE SEEING.
INCLUDING REPRESENTATION OF THE
FOUR FOUNDING PROVINCES OF
CANADA.
SO IF YOU LOOK UP HERE YOU'LL
SEE THE CREST OF ONTARIO, YOU'LL
ALSO SEE QUEBEC, NOVA SCOTIA,
AND NEW BRUNSWICK.

Sculptured figures appear on high corners near arched doors.

She continues SO THESE ARE THE FOUR ORIGINAL
PROVINCES OF CANADA.

Leah says WELL, I'VE BEEN
ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THE CEILING
AND THE CEILING IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
BUT I'VE ALSO NOTICED THAT THERE
ARE NAMES ENGRAVED IN SOME OF
THE SHAPES.
WHAT DO THOSE NAMES MEAN?

Julie says GOOD OBSERVATION,
LEAH.
WELL THESE ARE ACTUALLY VARIOUS
SPEAKERS OF THE SENATE PASSED.
BUT ONLY SPEAKERS UP UNTIL 1920.
AND THEN IT WAS REALIZED THAT
EVENTUALLY THERE WOULD BE A LACK
OF SPACE, SO HOW TO REPRESENT
ALL THE SPEAKERS THAT WOULD COME
AFTER 1920?
WELL IT WAS DECIDED TO ADD A
WORD, A FRENCH WORD, QUEQ'UN TO
REPRESENT EVERY SPEAKER THAT
WOULD SUCCEED THE SPEAKER OF
1920.
ANY IDEA WHAT QUEQ'UN MEANS
THOUGH?

Leah says UM, I ACTUALLY DON'T.

Julie says WELL IT'S NOT
REFERRING TO ANYONE IN SPECIFIC,
IT MEANS SOMEBODY.
SO THAT CAN REPRESENT ALL FUTURE
SPEAKERS, WHICH IS KIND OF A
NEAT THING.
NOW ANOTHER INTERESTING THING
THAT I HAVE TO HAVE YOU LOOK AT,
IF YOU LOOK AT SOME OF THE
PILLARS HERE, YOU'LL SEE
DIFFERENT FACES AROUND THE ROOM.
NOW ORIGINALLY WE WERE SUPPOSED
TO HAVE SIX VIKING'S FACES.
THE THING IS WHEN THE ROOM WAS
UNVEILED WE NOTICED WE ONLY HAD
TWO VIKING FACES, AND THEN WE
HAD FOUR OTHERS.
WHO WERE THESE OTHERS?
WELL THEY WERE SIMPLY THE
SCULPTORS AND THEY FOUND THEIR
WAY OF LEAVING THEIR MARK HERE
IN PARLIAMENT.

Leah says WOW THAT IS REALLY
COOL.
IT'S A REALLY BEAUTIFUL ROOM.
WELL THANK YOU FOR BRINGING ME
HERE.
BYE.

The Teacher says IT REALLY IS A
BEAUTIFUL ROOM.
DO YOU KNOW ANY OTHER ROOMS THAT
CAN BE AS BEAUTIFUL?
OH, THIS ROOM!
LET'S BE INSPIRED BY THIS VIDEO
AND CLEAN UP.
